Iran Delivers Threatening Letter to President Obama
The Arab-language newspaper Al-Ahram reports that Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei recently sent a letter filled with threats to American officials. The letter, which is said to have been delivered by Iraqi President Jalal Talabani, accuses the U.S. of meddling in Syrian affairs. According to Al-Ahram, Khamenei has ordered the U.S. to cease and desist pressuring the Syrian regime leadership, cautioning that Iran will retaliate against American troops stationed in Iraq should Obama refuse to take the warning seriously.
Jalal Talabani, who recently participated in the “International Conference for the Global Fight against Terrorism” in Tehran, promised Khamenei that he would deliver the letter and the message to American officials.
Ayatollah Khamenei, in a meeting with Iranian officials on June 30, warned that the U.S. — in a complicated plot — tries to create problems for Syria, and that the nature of the regional awakening was anti-U.S. and anti-Zionist.
Lebanese newspaper Al-Akhbar, which is a media branch of Hezbollah , quoted several of its Tehran-based sources as saying that the Iranian leadership also warned Turkey against taking any military action against Syria. The report adds that any militaristic meddling in Syria by the Turks would be considered “crossing a red line” and will not be tolerated by the Iranian regime.
The Iranian regime has denied delivering an ultimatum to Turkey, calling the reports propaganda by the West. But according to these sources, Tehran is of the belief that pressures directed at Bashar Al-Assad and the Syrian leadership in general are a pretext for the main target, which is Hassan Nasrallah and ultimately the disempowerment of Iran. Therefore, as far as the Iranian leadership is concerned, defending Damascus is a part of the defense of Tehran and Beirut.
The Iranian threat against Turkey and the U.S. is due to the fact that several Arab-language and Turkish media outlets have suggested that an area on the Syrian border should be turned into a free zone in order to protect Syrians taking refuge in Turkey. The Turkish government has not made any official comments to that effect. Purportedly, Turkish authorities have assured the Iranian regime that they would not take any such action and that they would not go along with U.S. plans against Syria. On the other hand, a large majority of the Turkish media actively mentions this as a viable option.
An analysis written by Mehmet-Ali Birand in the Turkish daily Milliyet puts forth the scenario of the occupation of a piece of Syria’s land as a possible solution. However, Birand believes that this undertaking is filled with risks that at present Turkey cannot withstand or enforce. Birand concludes that the creation of a free zone will not only not resolve the Syrian refugees’ problem, but that the Turkish army will not be able to protect more than fifty thousand refugees. This will lead the UN and foreign forces into taking action, further complicating the issue.

As overcommitted as American forces have become, the Iranian bluster-bomb is more than merely posturing. We are now engaged in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Yemen, and Somalia. Iran’s masters are aware that under these circumstances, undertaking another major confrontation is beyond us.
The Obama Administration appears to have endplayed the United States into Iran’s hands. We are the only power capable of defeating them in a non-nuclear war. Thus, when the Mossad concludes that an operable nuclear capability is within Iran’s reach, nuclear-armed Israeli jets will fly…and not to drop leaflets.
My question: Is this the outcome the Obamunists wanted?
To be re-elected.
SAF,
Obama doesn’t have the guts to go after the regime in Tehran…. and he won’t.
My question: Is this the outcome the Obamunists wanted?
Maybe they see it as the only way to get rid of Israel while keeping their complicit fingers clean?
A major confrontation may (or may not) be beyond our current capabilities. The irony, and the danger to Iran, is that a sudden “shock and awe” type attack could possibly be delivered in a short period of time – it might take weeks to get the forces in place, but the attack itself could be delivered in a matter of days, if not hours. This wouldn’t end the matter, and there would be consequences, but it remains a possibility. Obviously Iran is banking on the assumption that the current administration won’t use this option.
Rich,
We have Nukes and we have them for a reason. We use ‘em and wipe out the threat. Truman w/ Japan – same scenario. islam is evil. period.
It does makes you wonder if this wasn’t the end game all along.
You mean the Hezbollahi sent the letter.
A military confrontation with Islam is coming. Iran has been killing US citizens via proxies for 30 years years. They are responsible for the Marine barracks bombing and for EFP’s that have killed Americans in Iraq and Afghanistan They are directly responsible for the deaths of hundreds of US soldiers in Iraq via EFP’s and have acted similarly in Afghanistan. This is a casus beli and I was amazed that Bush didn’t act against Iran when the EFP’s were traced back to them years ago.
Iran has been a destabilizing actor in the Middle East for 30 years. They are an existential threat to Israel. I expect that they are going to create an incident that will precipitate a response fairly soon.
Francis above is correct that our military is over commited. We need to reposition our forces by bringing them home from around the world. Nation building has proven to be a fools erand. It is a waste of our resources to try and change people who have no historical tradition with a republican form of government. We need a new doctrine, if attacked we will respond with the most efficient method of terminating the threat permanently and then, after the threat has been completely eliminated, we will come home.
Iran and Islam are direct threats to our country. Iran will have to be dealt with at some point as will Islam. We need to be preparing our forces for that inevitability by consolidating resources.
For all the disaster Iran has become to us all we can thank Jimmy Carter – for allowing Ruhollah Khomeini to depart France (thanks Frogs!) and take up residence in Iran in opposition to the Shah.
Maybe he had the demise of Israel on his mind?
Well said.
***We need a new doctrine, if attacked we will respond with the most efficient method of terminating the threat permanently and then, after the threat has been completely eliminated, we will come home.***
I think I’m in love.
From one who cherishes every servicemember in harm’s way, this is the proposal I have been waiting for nearly ten years to hear.
President Bush tried, a lot of people died, the question is, to what end ?
One Big Dose of Reality will put the cork back in the Islamist Molotov Cocktail of Terror.
We Are the Strong Horse.
Samizdat! What you said! It’s exactly right-on and is the exact doctrine we should have adopted well-before 911.
And let me guess , Obama was scared to Death, I don’t know whether Obama is a US president or more like a Kenyan President. The grand Appeaser of Mullahs, Obama is still under delusional peaceful Islam.
American People need to remove this useless guy from office and put somebody who truly represent America.
And UN is just a big Joke, instead of protecting Human Rights and Insure Freedom of the citizens of the world it is pursuing Islamic Sharia law to implement it all over the world.
Can Israel win a nuclear war?
Does Israel start the war and when?
How many A-bombs will destroy Israel?
Can the Israeli air force and air fields survive?
Does Israel have the H-bomb?
How many H and A bombs will destroy Iran, Syria and Lebanon?
How effective will Syria’s chemical weapon stockpile be?
Would Gaza, West bank and south Lebanon be ethnically cleansed in a such a war?
What would Pakistan, India, France, England Russia and China do?
Would you strike at Islam itself, do you takeout the central holy cities of Islam, does Mecca and Medina get vaporized?
An Israeli war college would be a very interesting place to be right now.
Turkey has to be cautious here. Although it would have no problems invading Syria to create a “buffer” along its border with Syria, Turkey also has a border with Iran and Iraq. For Turkey to fight a war simultaneously with Syria and Iran could be a big problem for Turkey’s military, which hasn’t fought a major war since 1918. But the other thing that could be a problem is that Turkey is a NATO member, so that we would naturally have to support Turkey if Iran gets involved. Another thing to consider is the Kurds. If Turkey and Iran decide to go after each other, the Kurds may see this as their golden opportunity to declare independence, something they’ve wanted to do for decades. The only good news is that the Kurds are some of the few people in the area that actually LIKE the United States, so they would probably support us in whatever we want to do.
So this problem between Turkey and Iran could turn a small regional conflict into a World War, which is ironic since Turkey hasn’t fought a major war since World War I, and it didn’t do too well in that one either, I might add. So, Mr. President, how’s that “smart diplomacy” working for you these days with Iran? Are you glad now that you offered them your open hand of friendship? Yes, all you had to do was talk to them and they would just swoon at your feet. Yup, sure is working, isn’t it?
All good points, Libertyship46. Reinforces the point that Iran and it’s Syrian proxy are destabilizing forces in the middle east. We need an administration that understands these dynamics and will send the message to them that they need to stop threatening Israel or we will support Israel fully and completely if they have to strike. We need to hold them accountable for the threats they repeatedly make and the actions they have taken.
If you want some additional perspective on the gathering war clouds in the middle east, read James Lewis’s “Obama’s Final Solution” at American Thinker. I am wondering if Obama isn’t predisposed to use war as a path to reelection.
Conservative candidates need to speak very frankly about what Obama is doing and not doing in the middle east. “Smart” diplomacy is creating the conditions for war. There will be massive nuclear proliferation in the world’s most unstable arena when Iran get’s the bomb.
The Mullahs need to be sent to meet Allah if war breaks out in the middle east. They are the primary source for the regions continued instability.
Time to tell this Khamenei to get back on his camel and find a good oasis in the desert..To hell with these camel jockeys threatening the USA. Pull out of Afganistan and Libyia and march straight into Iran, take everything thats not boldted down and enjoy our own oil fields. Yes it is time to become the nation that won WWI and WWII and clean up this mess, it all starts with Iran and stops with Iran, so why mess with all the riff raff in these other countries? Iran is only making noise because they think they are so damn all mighty and this Khamenei has already forgotten what we did to Bin Laden and he should be next lets get this over with I am tired of hearing these clowns talk about war, they are cowards who have to send in crazy eyed people with explosives wrapped around them to do any damage, when confronted with a battalion of Marines running straight at their position they as they have always done will run and cry,,,Get BHO the muslim out of office and take back our Country and Our World just like we did in Japan and Germany scatter these clowns over the desert like the snakes they are…
Poor Turkey! If they are relying on Obama to watch their backs in a war with Iran, then they better think again. Obama “strongly” called for Gahdaffi’s removal months ago, yet the guy’s still in office and still fighting.
Obama has removed one ranking terrorist from the ME. The TSA hasn’t caught ANY terrorists since its inception. Obama plans to withdraw from Afghanistan without victory. That’s the guy Turkey is relying on?
We should treat muslims in our country the very same way they treat westerners in their countries, in full measure.
Now is the time to prepare for world war. It’s either that or capitulate. The world situation is much like 1938, with Iran playing now the role that Germany played then. The difference is that we don’t have the luxury that Roosevelt had, that is to come to the conflict late, and our forces are stretched thin already. Hope Obama hasn’t replaced all of the top defense people, including top generals and admirals, with his yes men, and hope that some in the pentagon are actually preparing for the inevitable in ways other than crafting a white flag. Reagan was right – war is much more liklely when we are perceived as weak.
A difference is that Germany was a powerful industrial state and had a very well organized military and there were no nukes, whereas Iran has oil, goats,an unproven army, 70,000,0000 people and soon coming to silos near Tehran….nukes.
Are they actually stupid enough to launch the nukes or will they let Hamas or Hezbollah do their dirty work or will they just flap their lips? In any event they have got to know, or maybe not, that we aren’t going to take a nuke in Israel or on our troops or here in the states and just sit back. Even Obama would be forced to act in that event. They could be that stupid, but WOW.
I agree and have said for some time we need to get our troops home and get ready for something nastier than Iraq or Afghanistan. We are backing ourselves into a war just like Chamberlain and his appeasers. Totalitarians such as the radicals in Islam understand only one thing, power.
The differences you state between 1930′s Germany and present Iran are correct. However, in playing the global chess game, the mullahs are acting much like Hitler did in the late ’30s and seem to be banking on Western reluctance to engage, particularly once they are fully nuked, in order to incrementally assert world dominance. They seem to miscalculate because Israel will eventually be forced to take decisive action, though whether they will be able to survive it is an open question. World war will ensue, or we will capitulate. While their lack of an industrial base weakens them in protracted war, nukes empower the mullahs for a quick strike that they may perceive as decisive, and there are indications that they are willing to use them regardless of the cost to humanity and their own people because they think they will come out on top at the end of this type of action. Another open question is how many third columnists they now have in the West, and what are western governments doing to neutralize them in the event we have to strike Iran?
I think Russia is poking the dog (Iran) and then feeding it, in hopes it will attack a mutual enemy (us).
I wish I could be as optimistic as you however, there are a couple of things to consider. First, if they do get an operational nuclear bomb we will put up with anything they do short of declaring war. Pakistan is the perfect example. No way in hell they did not know about Bin laden living in their midst but we do nothing about it. North Korea is another good example. Libya proves the reverse. Give up your nuke program and get bombed into oblivion at America’s will.
Second, their goal is primarily local dominance and freedom from American ‘interference’ in their goals (i.e. the destruction of Israel, control of the Gulf etc.). Reestablishment of the Caliphate would be nice for them but not necessary. Bow to the Imam or glow in the dark. They wouldn’t even need to use their nukes. Simply the threat would be enough to keep America at bay and they could use their conventional military paid for by North Korean style ‘concessions’ negotiated by somebody like Jimmy Carter to hammer their neighbors. Win-win for them.
Short of them nuking the White House we’ll do nothing to them we are not doing right now. We will not risk the chance of any kind of retaliation. They need not even be able to reach us. Nuking the Ghawar oil fields would nicely sink our economy.
“Mr President, Iran has issued a threatening letter to you not to interfere in Syrian affairs”
“What? Who does he think he is, I can do anything I want to any of the 57 states.”
“Um, Mr President, Syria is a country in the middle east”
“Uh, er, yeah, I knew that! I was talking about something else. Should we call NATO and get them to drop some bombs on Syria, you know, to protect the citizens, like in Libya?”
“That would not be advisable, sir; We are already overextended as it is.”
“Yeah, you’re right, these damn Bush wars.”
“But Mr President, you…”
“Get Hillary on the horn will ya? Tell her I want her to go to Syria.”
“Why, Mr President?”
“To show them that they got nothin’. They will get an earful of a scolding from her and then she can come back and make my poll numbers go up some more. Damn, I’m so smart! No one can think of these things but me.”
“But what would a ‘scolding’ from Ms. Clinton actually accomplish, sir, other than to make the Syrian government angry at the US and you?”
“Why would they get angry at me? Mad at the US, I can understand since the US has spent 200 years stealing Syria’s wealth, and everyone else’s too. But I’m the guy they’ve been waiting for. I can make it all better.”
“And how would you do that, sir? Oh, Mr President, I have just been handed a communique’ that Israel has been bombed by Iran, apparently it was a nuclear device. The initial reports are that tens of thousands are dead.”
“Really? Wow. hey, make sure that I get a good box time at Andrews today. 10AM, ok? Last time that damned General Petraeus got there ahead of me. Thinks he’s all that, getting up early and all. Doesn’t he know who his boss is? And that reminds me, last night, someone on Air Force One was laughing at me. I don’t know who it was, but look into it…and have them disappeared. Now, where is my blackberry, I have to BFF Weiner and check up on him. He’d make a good diplomat to Syria, don’t you think? After all he’s married to that chick from…well, somewhere over there.”
“Mr President, Weiner is Jewish, I don’t think it would be such a good idea.”
“He’s a Jew? Heh….who’d'a thunkit. Go figure. Yeah, I guess you’re right. He certainly looks Jewish alright. Well, I’ll deal with Syria later. I have to get to Boston on AF-1 to raise some serious cash for 2012. Did they get my KOOL menthols on board this time?”
—–and so it goes.
Why do we have troops scheduled to go to Syria?
This is prima facie evidence that you have a weakling in the White House. Iran either takes hostages for 444 days or kicks sand in your face and dares you to do something about it.
It is not the trembling response that gives voice to the evidence, it is the mere fact that it was sent and the manner in which it was delivered.
Why use the Iraqi leadership to deliver the message? Clearly the Iranians know that this President, very much like the one in place when they undertook the cowardly hostage taking…has a rather large circle of Jew-hating friends.
In fact, his closest mentors, dear friends, dinner companions and collaborators for much of his life before his coronation to his present office, were littered with some of the most vocal, vile and vicious Jew-haters in the country.
Syria is not only within Iran’s protectorate, it is the sockpuppet for the mullahfia thugs. Sensing the abandonment of Israel by America, the capo regime of the Middle East is ready to go to the mattresses.
Obama put a hit out on bin Laden and is resting on that to pretend he has muscles to flex. Nobody except his propaganda oafs in the fake media back home gives that theory an ounce of credence.
Iran is slapping him around in public. He is Fredo. Israel is on its own. Turkey made a huge mistake, perhaps they now realize. We have emboldened the bully by our weakness and our disloyalty. Robert Malley is the advisor for whom this whole scenario appears to have the most fingerprints. And Rashid Khalidi. And Jeremiah Wright. And Bill Ayers. And George Soros. And Zbigniew Brzezinski. And Jimmy Carter.
This has been a long time coming. A lifetime, in fact. The one guy on the far left who can finally,…finally…take down America and Israel like they really want to. The king who calls his subjects….enemies.
Pretty apt analysis. I couldn’t agree more.
We’re already in a world war. It’s just that the Obamabots can’t see it.
Interesting that Turkey decided not to support the Gaza Flotilla like they did last year. Why not? Maybe it dawned on them that if they get into a shooting war with Syria, their old de facto military alliance with Israel may be necessary once again.
Also NATO is pre-occupied with overthow of Kadaffi in Lybia. As others have blogged, that conflict may have to end (successfully I hope by deposing Kadaffi) before Turkey attempts to occupy border area with Syria.
We are newcomers to the real First World War, which the Mohammedans unleashed over 1300 years ago. They have conquered a big chunk of the earth, and continue to plot and scheme every day to gain more territory. The religion of Mohammed is our enemy. They themselves make no bones about this — it being stated over and over in their holy book. After WW I the Allies had the chance, with the destruction of the Ottoman Empire, to deep-six this pilo-crap religion for good. But the British government were already infested with Arabist poofters, who played the same role at Versailles as Soviet agents in the US did after WW II: to lose the peace after we had won the war. Like International Law and the Law of War, the rules apply only to civilized nations (basically Europe, the Anglospere, and Japan). When you defeat wogs, rape, pillage, and plunder are still de rigeur, not just because it feels good, but because defeating your blood-enemies is just step one — step two is eliminating them, so you never have to fight them again. After we got a toe-hold in Afghanistan, nation-building might’ve been a good idea, but only after we completely eliminated the sorry-ass nation that was currently there. Leftists are always griping about over-population. In general, I’m not sure about that, but I do know the earth is way too small to accomodate millions (maybe even thousands) of Afghans, Pakis, Persians, and most of all, Arabs. They’re basically bipedal rodents anyhow. When we get a chance to help old Gaia out, let’s get it on.
For more than 32 years we meaning the US have allowed this terrorist barbaric regime flex its muscle, threaten and black mail us whenever chance they get or better we provide them with.
This holds true mostly during any ignorant liberal Democrat Presidents however, when they are weak and appeasing at core, morally and politically incompetent, lazy fearful at all times, and incapable of leading the nation in the midst of chaos their appeasing policies have created!
Obama has made America weaker than it has ever been and there is no doubt about that. He actually planned it, wanted it and is happy about it. America that he has reformed plays well in his vision of a land where “all nations rule and no super power specially America should exist”.
Obama is incapable of understanding the core human nature that dictates to us all this significant fact which is:
“In the presence of Vacuum, there is always going to be a storm taking strength for power grab and imposition of dogmas and rule of a given group or even a mob in any society”
Obama’s vision at the core of it is flawed, idealistic and naive. He is not fit to be the “Leader of the Free World”. He must be defeated in order for America to rise again and the terrorist regime occupying Iran and having Hezbollah and Hamas under its wings, know once and for all who should call the shot!
A couple of cruise missiles when their “government” was in session would end the current crises. Very little collateral damage, no long term commitment, no troops on the ground, no financial burden and completed in a day. Let the chips fall where they may, not much to lose, could the next lot be any worse?
“Ayatollah Khamenei, in a meeting with Iranian officials on June 30, warned that the U.S. — in a complicated plot — tries to create problems for Syria, and that the nature of the regional awakening was anti-U.S. and anti-Zionist.”
And here we thought the oppressed were trying to throw off the harness of oppression. All this time they were rioting against Imperialist America’s involvement in the region.
Who knew?
Maybe nobody informed the rioters the need to show up with anti-American slogan signs?
I wonder who is going to write this chapter of history. Lets hope it is us.
Reagan, Bush-1, Clinton, and Bush-2 kicked the can down the street and now it’s up to Obama to rein in Islam? The same Obama that bows to princes and wants a beer summit with the MB?? If so we are in a world of $#%* that only nukes will resolve.
As it becomes ever clearer that the United States has no effective leadership, the wolves circle closer…
The mullahs are willing to hold the Iranian people hostage in their pursuit of brinkmanship with a country they known—unless they are completely besotted by their own propaganda—can and will, if sufficiently provoked, flatten as much of their country as humanly possible. The caveat to this is that they must still go far outside the parameters of what the Obamanoids have deemed tolerable behavior. And, unfortunately for peace in the region, Obama has set the bar so high the mullahs probably believe that they can get away with a lot more than what they have so far.
Well, it’s always thus with the world’s most troublesome totalitarians. They never seem to learn the basic fact of life on this planet: you eventually pay a price for what you do that will effectively erase all the gains you ever made at others’ expense.
Little or nothing is said about the bitter divisions within our Islamic enemies….e.g. that bloody Shiite versus Sunni rivalry which is centuries old. Not to mention the wily Saudi’s and their Wahabism. The Persians/Iranians seem to have the vocally belligerent upper hand just now…… (or, have been given that vocal and strident upper hand)….. I’m hoping that we’re working in the background to further the same ethnic/tribal/religious treacheries among these Islamist enemies of ours as much as these same divisions have been so troublesome to us for these past ten years.
Our Islamist enemies are not a united force. Even as widely distracted as we Americans seem to be, and apparently in the appeasement mode, there seem to be vague options open to us Americans short of our being involved in atomic warfare in that cursed Central/West Asian neighborhood.
It’s easy to say “drop that bomb!” when we aren’t privy to the current deep insider information……or have the actual bomb-dropping responsibility for the aftermath.
All we know is what we see here…..not minimizing that by any means.
I know you writers like to scare people with writings like this. There is a very simple way to deal with iran, just take them out of the picture and no ground forces are necessary to do this. Alas the US will cave to these threats because we are sensitive and to PC so will lose Europe and most likely our own country! Do not fear obama will send iran a nasty letter or maybe he will try sanctions.ha ha ha
“It seems the Iranians are getting ready for a confrontation. Are we?”
We should have nuked the little bastards in ’79.
It’s never too late to make up for past mistakes.
You and I would like to see BHO leave office sooner than later so an adult can take over. My fear is the actual shooting will begin before that can happen. Mr. Feckless in the White House won’t know what to do. His advisors are all as feckless as he – maybe more-so. He is in so far over his head I’m sure he’d piss his pants if a war did break out that involved us.
History repeats (or so it seems) & its 1938 all over again – who knows when September 1st 1939 will replay? We’ve seen these bold moves from Germany in 1938-39 and the world sat on the sidelines and quietly told themselves that Herr Hitler wished for no more land/country/people than he asked for (and got Czechoslovakia too!). Hoping it so didn’t make it so. Hitler saw the lack of challenge to mean the rest of the world would sit idly by while he claimed all of Europe for Germany. He was nearly right.
We now have our own Nevil Chamberlain in Obama. Times are ripe for action if you are a despotic nation and have evil designs on your neighbor – soon is the time for action. The only thing holding Iran back right now is their lack of a nuclear weapon. I doubt they could take on Israel head to head without that equalizer. The race is on to get one – and before Obama leaves office if possible. It seems to me they’d be better off whispering sweet nothin’s to Obama to help him get reelected just in case they don’t get one ready before Nov 2012.
These are dangerous times – behind the scenes are countries like China and Russia quietly urging these upstart countries on – supplying them with weapons – throwing gasoline on burning embers. Soon – real soon those vapors are likely to erupt. With the USA tied up in Afghanistan – Iraq – Libya and elsewhere – and Obama trimming our forces as much as he can – the likelihood of us putting out any flair-ups is slim.
The next year or so will be very interesting, interesting but dangerous.
Poor president humiliates America and strengthens the totalitarian regime by his weakness.Leftist Obama poorly understands totalitarian regimes and it`s leaders who are mentally unbalanced and can fast concentrate the national military resources.Adressing “Islam World” Obama have awaked Shiite`s dreams of the whole Islam`s representation. The ridiculouse Iranian leaders can appeare dangerouse like the once ridiculouse Hitler. They must be stopped now though by the diplomacy. The west must immediatly use the Sunni-Siite divisions to stop Muslim`s aggression.
Many inane comments w/o value here.
They show how poorly unformed the average US citizen really are and how slanted their point of view is.
Instead of concentrating of the hypocrisy of the Iranian government the comments in general accuse the US gvt of being weak. In case you have not noticed to those who take this approach… The US is still at war in Afghanistan. The one who is nearly finished (Iraq) was based on blatant lies from a previous administration made by the type of commentators who display their knowledge here.
The only responsible answer to Iran (for a supposedly sent letter) is silence. Who gives a **** about some idiotic religious prose? Syria, like the rest of the middle east, is waking up, for good or bad remains to be seen.
Whatever action Turkey takes creates a potential for NATO military reaction, if Iran does something about it. Iran is seen as the enemy by all ‘legitimate’ gvts in the middle east. The result is that, other than China, no one will protest if they attack Turkey. Russia will not defend Iran for the simple reason that they have no economic or political interest to do so.
Always remember that the dog who barks the most is the first to run away, yelping for help, when confronted. This sadly goes for the fine commentators here.
“Instead of concentrating of the hypocrisy of the Iranian government the comments in general accuse the US gvt of being weak.”
Well, that kind of comes with the territory when you live in a country that has, for all intents and purposes, ignored terror attacks against our nation and the citizens of our nation over and over and over again.
When Iran attacks one of our emnbassies, and we fail to react by declaring war on them and wiping them off the face of the planet, then that makes us look like what we are: a nation of arrant cowards, with all the strength of a newborn kitten.
The only president we’ve had since the 1970s who would even try to do anything effective in response to Muslim terrorists was Bush II…all the rest have acted like spineless wimps.
Who lied to start a war. Acted like an *** on a US Navy ship declaring ‘mission accomplished’ against a third rate army. Yeah, you can be proud of that one. What was found after that? Nothing, no ties to terrorism, no WMDs, nada. Yes he was a criminal but if the US was in charge of removing all criminals who are in charge, the first one who should have been removed at the time was the *** mis-*leading* the US.
How many deaths and hardships have resulted from blind, shortsighted mismanaged policies due to the previous ‘administration’? How many more need to be killed, maimed and destroyed before you learn?
Any government led by religious is bound to fail in the long run, same goes for dictatorships or authoritarian regimes. History shows it. Let them shoot themselves on their own left foot. The current so-called ‘middle east’ spring is but the tip of their local discontent, there is more to come. To get involved in anyway will be a mistake anyway you look at it.
For all of you who wish war. please create your own mercenary army and have at it. Let the other live free and healthy from the cancer of hatred you promote.
Make a difference between a muslim and an islamist and a terrorist. They are not the same thing but then again, for your ilk, anyone who is ‘different’ for any reason is the same, an enemy to be killed.
you appear to be a brown shirt wanna be…keep it up and it will come to fruitation, because of people like you. liberals.
this adm was to take people out of the middle east, instead has tripled the number…gonna bring 10,000 back after he sent an additional 60,000+ over…whoopee!!!.
When you get tired of bootlickin, come on back to earth and join the human race…
Oh…muslim = terrorists = islamists teachings…they’re all the same. your silly explanations don’t mean anything…they’re all the same. any one that follows the koran is trouble looking for a place to happen.
@anonymous Brown shirt = liberal???? Are you THAT far out of it?
Beside, you must be proud of your answer since you hide under a generic name. It figures since it goes with the barking dog comment I made earlier.
Congratulation, you just confirmed my opinion of many folks here.
Btw, I forgot to mention that when you yourself are spewing boilerplate left wing nonsense pretty much non-stop, you’re not in much of a position to be complaining about inane comments from other posters.
The “Bush lied” tripe is about as inane as it gets.
Ok, then, please tell me where are the WMDs since he did not lie about their certain existence.
Please prove the terrorist links that supposedly existed.
please check everything he said about this war.
Worse yet, where was the ‘mission accomplished’ when he bragged about on the carrier?
Yeah, you are right all lies.
That **** was a liar, a war mongering, the worse president the US ever had.
I love your label of being ‘left’. It is just amazing how you react to anything. always accusing, always naming, pointing fingers to anyone who has a different analysis of events that should never had taken place.
Instead of concentrating on his worldwide mandate: find bin f*** he managed to destroy all the good will the US had gained from the 9/11 criminal attack. It was not enou8gh as he is the one who drove the economy into an abyss.
But never-mind that, right? all lies.
I will never forgive the politicians that were elected during these years. They are all responsible republicans, democrats, independent or whatever. They are all accomplices and guilty of the same crimes by association.
*The result is that, other than China, no one will protest if they attack Turkey.*
Clarification:
The result is that, other than China, no one will protest if NATO reacts to an attack against Turkey.
engrish woof
besides being legally stupid, you should bone up on yer facts before posting, just a tip for you!!
@Gym… A bit of education would help you express yourself so that a dialogue becomes possible…
Do you even know what ‘legally stupid means’? Probably not because it does not exist. If you select to insult instead of responding, try to be more creative will you?
As to the facts:
Check NATO membership.
Check results of WMD search…
Check if any ties terrorist between and sad f*** were found…*
Check ‘mission accomplished’ speech…
Just take the time to do some research before sending invectives to anyone who tries to make sense of what is going, using the information available to all.
* Terrorism came to Iraq after the US invasion as sad f*** was unable to kill those criminals with his own goons. Why were there no ties? Sad f*** was for a secular government and feared the advance of islam in his country. The terrorists were from two sources: Those supported by Iran and those from Al queda. Remember that Iran Iraq were at war for a very long time and that the US helped sad f*** as containment. (remember the VP-to-be shaking the hand of one he would kill later???
Then again, you may want to check everything… Just in case I am right, who knows hey?
Destroy the 12th Imam before it is to late. Iran has been supplying IED’s to the AQ types in Iraq, and Afghanistan. A little pay back is OK.
BHO’s policy of appeasing the Islamos like Iran only goes to show how weak we are.
In my years serving in the muslim enclaves of South East Asia, my experiences lead me to conclude that whenever, I show weakness to a muslim, ultimately, he is going to over power me.
Good luck Obama-weak-policies.
