How the Obama Campaign/Media Alliance Works
The same pattern has been seen over the last few days. The Brookings Institution undertakes a study and issues a report on the Romney tax plan, which involves rate cuts and the elimination of tax preferences written into the code. Can you guess who asked them to “score” the plan? Brookings does not know the details of which preferences will be eliminated, so they make assumptions. They conclude the rate reductions will result in a loss in revenues. That is not a great surprise, even if economic growth rates accelerate some from the changes. Of course, revenue losses from tax policy have never been a big subject of worry for the administration. They have asked for them in the original stimulus, in the payroll tax cuts the last two years, and in many other proposals over Obama’s term. In fact, giant deficits have never been a problem for the Obama team. That is why federal spending is now a four percent larger share of GDP than it was four years ago and why the total federal debt has grown by over five trillion dollars due to trillion dollar plus annual deficits.
But composing a study that shows Romney’s rate reduction plan is not revenue neutral is not the real purpose. The Obama team needs more — namely, that the rich (meaning Romney himself) will get richer and the middle class will have to pay more in taxes to make up for it. So the Brookings study assumes that the rich will get their tax rate cut but that it will be paid for somewhere else — by the middle class, of course, which will suffer the impact of a disproportionate loss of their tax preferences.
Within hours of the release of the study, the major national papers were reporting the results with grim headlines, perfect for a new Obama attack ad released this week that even Sargent calls harsh.
So do you wonder why Harry Reid is going around telling everyone who will listen that he heard from someone (name not revealed) that Romney did not pay taxes for ten years ? I think it is because the new Obama attack campaign is designed to make Romney look like a slimy tax cheat. Harry Reid has no shame. He is a millionaire many times over. Being a senator has been very, very good for Harry Reid. So he is willing to carry the water for the Obama campaign and make charges that are baseless, without any evidence whatever, while demanding that Romney disprove them. Ann Coulter says the demand for Romney to release back tax returns also relates to the fact that Romney has a squeaky clean personal history. Since David Axelrod, the keeper of the bedroom logs for Obama opponents, can’t attack Romney on infidelity charges, he needs to mislead voters about Romney’s taxes.
What we are seeing is a search and destroy mission. The goal is to make Romney appear out of touch with ordinary Americans. He is one of the richest Americans. He cares only about his own social class and cuts corners to stay rich (tax avoidance and cheating). If you are hurting, it is not because Obama let you down. Bush dragged the economy down, and Romney did just fine, thank you, through all of it. Now he wants to help the rich some more at your expense.
As Sargent says, the Obama campaign also needs to smudge Romney’s reputation for business competence. Part of that is the greed/tax cheat messaging. Another part of that effort was the media’s coverage of Romney’s foreign trip, when the press obsessed over supposed gaffes committed by the candidate. Will many American voters care what the British press thinks of Romney’s comments on the preparations for the Olympics? I doubt it. I think most American voters agree with Romney’s appreciation for the Israeli culture that has contributed to that country’s economic success. But if the press can make the story a different one entirely, not about the substance of what Romney said, but about supposed gaffes that made some folks abroad unhappy, then they can contribute to a message that Romney is not ready for the big stage.
There is one final angle to the developing narrative and it comes from the opinion polls: Romney is in terrible shape, and Obama is pulling away. The pollsters tell us that Romney is sinking because voters are hearing about Bain and Romney’s tax dodging and they are getting nervous about the challenger.
In fact, there is only one substantive reason for the supposedly good numbers for Obama in some of the most recent surveys: significant oversampling of Democrats. The two major organizations which have been in the field polling every day, Rasmussen and Gallup (each interviewing 15,000 people a month), show no change in the race — that it is still a virtual tie. Is the oversampling which favors Obama by certain polling organizations deliberate? When the organizations paying for the polls and trumpeting the results are the New York Times, CBS, and Pew, it is not out of the question. The alternative is that the polls are just doing a bad job by not adjusting their samples to reflect a more appropriate mix of voters.
If the media can create a picture that Romney is slipping and his campaign is in trouble, it could turn some voters away from Romney. People like to be with the winner. Momentum builds more momentum. The economy is flatlining. But the media story is that Romney is making too many gaffes, slipping in the polls, hiding his tax returns, and preparing to stick it to the middle class with his tax plan, as he did with Bain and outsourcing. The next few weeks should be good ones for Romney — picking a VP and his convention. But then again, his foreign trip was supposed to be an easy opportunity to score some points as well, and the media would not let that happen.
If this were a hockey game, you could say that Obama is playing with a man advantage.

well, that’s a bloodless way of putting it.
A bit balder way of putting it would be to say that the media and the marxists are in a death-grip alliance to lie, cheat and steal the election and therefore the country and therefore the entire wealth of the country, with no limits and no ethics. If murder is required, murder they will do without a moment’s hesitation. I attribute this to the entirely explainable urge of mega-criminals to get their greedy hands on trillions of dollars of taxpayer money.
Yes, I think that is a bit closer to the mark.
Everyone reading will of course smugly view these comments as the ravings of an over-the-top kook.
I only have 10,000 years of history on my side to defend my case.
and btw, anybody who cares to look can easily see that the Republicans are not much of an improvement.
Marx considered education and propaganda to be the least important of his “10 points to power” in the Communist Manifesto. He just wanted to bust heads and burn down whole countries. It was the Italian Communist, Gramsci, who put it first. He believed that be establishing government schools and subtly teaching Marxist principles, the target nation could be slowly undermined. The media was another aspect he thought should be controlled. If people were subtly fed images and stories from a Marxist point of view, slowly their thinking would be corrupted.
Both of these have been going on for some time in the US.
Also keep in mind that over 90% of the media are Democrats. If anyone is in need of the diversity quotas the media trumpets it is them. But do you think they would allow over 40% of their people to be replaced by Conservatives and true moderates?
William-You are right about Marx but it is John Dewey who created the Marxist view of education. Even Marxists.org agrees.
The Marxist view of the mind comes from a man called Joseph Dietzgen, who was kicked out of Europe and settled in Chicago where he is buried. Marx and Engels both called him their philosopher.
It is absolutely the case that the media has been in the tank for Obama from the get go. Truth in journalism has disappeared from the landscape. Truthfully.
However, alternative media,in particular the blog-o-sphere, is the most potent weapon freedom fighters have.
Therefore, it was an easy decision to start my own blog, even though I have been writing op-eds for a decade – http://www.adinakutnicki.com
Much of my concentration is focused upon exposing the Obama regime, even though I live in Israel. I am an American patriot AND a Zionist. Whiter America goes, so does Israel. The opposite is also the case.

A reminder to “weo” that the Progressive movement was bipartisan. Not all Republicans have signed on to that “moderating” project, and the party is still evolving. As for the class warfare rhetoric, that is grounded in hatred of “the money power,” I summed that populist strategy up in many of my blogs. Here is an index to the most substantial of them: http://clarespark.com/2012/08/05/hating-finance-capital/. Populists are always, consciously or unconsciously, antisemitic.
There are some Republicans I like, but the affection is always conditional, because that 10,000 years of history I mentioned, plus the overwhelming evidence from the last few decades proves beyond any reasonable doubt that the sugar in Washington co-opts all but the most hardened patriots. It’s just too much money for people to resist. Period.
A couple that seem, so far, to have resisted are Alan West and Paul Ryan…but again, that opinion is provisional. There are many others who could be true to the country, but you have to wonder, based on their ability to exploit conservatism for monetary gain. Palin and Gingrich fall into that category, a category I rate far better than the marxists, but not as good as the VERY few who haven’t yet exploited politics to make themselves gazillionaires.
Marxism is certainly evil, but it isn’t the root cause. Money and power-lust are the two root causes.
That’s why the problem will NEVER even be alleviated until the federal government is broken up and made back into what the Founders understood it had to be. Pending that, it just comes down to which criminals you prefer. I prefer the ones who seem to like the country and appreciate capitalism, but that doesnt mean they deserve a free pass either.
And breaking up DC doesn’t completely solve the problem either. It’s just that the problems are diminshed by giving natural-born crooks the ability to control billions rather than trillions. I also like the idea of being able to walk into a crooks office. Note well that the worst of the DC mafioso have surrounded themselves with a security force, at your expense of course, that ensures their safety while they plunder the country.
Also, btw, note that the wealthier they are going in, the safer we are. Who is one of the very few who seems to actually be trying to make a change in the DC culture? Dan Issa, the richest man in Congress (that we know about, heh heh). Apparently, he has enough to be satisfied.
As I recall, George Washington was considered the richest man in the Colonies. There might be a lesson in that.
WEO,
You sound just like a Tea Party member.
Once Romney deploys 300 million after the convention…Team Obama will shriek and run like 11 yr old school girls-TEE HEE!!!
Have some faith kids.
Faith in what?
The most pro-homosexual governor of any state EVER?
The creator of socialized medicine in Mass?
The man who governed to the left of Teddy Kennedy?
The champion of abortion, uh, until he decided he wanted the Republican nomination?
Faith in what? An obvious pandering RINO?
The extreme bias of the ultra left wing, captive media is obvious. The media works for the Kenyan and vigorously attacks anyone who isn’t, well, the Kenyan.
We can handle the media. The internet makes the perversion of the journalist almost pointless. Who but the commie/black/union/tinkerbell faithful pay attention to what the Kenyan says.
Key is, what will happen when Obama is sent back to Kenya and the honest good guys retake the Republic. These JournoList traitors must not be allowed to continue to piss on the nation. The First amendment gives them rights that they would not give to normal people. How do we correct that?
How do we stop the Leftist bias in the media? Buy the media outlets which are the worst offenders and re-establish the old traditions that were supposed to ensure balance and fairness; the new owners could even strengthen those controls since they were obviously unsuccessful in preventing the current massive bias towards the Left. Any individuals of any political stripe who were unwilling to co-operate would be free to resign; failing that, they could be disciplined by their new employers. Perhaps a stint as a weather reporter or celebrity reporter would get their attention so that they understood the standards to be real and the new owners serious.
And who would these new owners be? I expect that most of the individuals reading here would be unable to buy NBC or the New York Times as individuals. But wouldn’t it be a delicious irony if people here pooled together whatever they could each spare and COLLECTIVELY purchase one or two of the worst offenders? How do you think these self-proclaimed journalists would feel if a collective bought their collectivist-loving employers?
Plan B would be to get very serious about filing all possible charges against the worst media outlets and journalists and see if the old “Death by a Thousand Cuts” approach is as effective as it is said to be.
How’s about looking at your portfolios and seeing what you already own?
Militant shareholders (especially large vocal numbers of them) tend to frighten the bejesus out of corporate boards.
It’s a great tactic (courtesy of Saul Alinsky).
The MSM is as Charles Dawson and Obama is their Piltdown Man.
Actually more like the MSM is as Victor Frankenstein and Obama is their Monster.
“Is the oversampling which favors Obama by certain polling organizations deliberate? When the organizations paying for the polls and trumpeting the results are the New York Times, CBS, and Pew, it is not out of the question.”
Not out of the question? PEW polled 813 democrats and 453 Republicans (that’s from memory but I am right on or very close). What sane person could possibly believe that almost 80% more democrats will be voting this November 6 than Republicans. I don’t think there is any question. they are nothing but a gaggle of Joseph Goebbels.
When conservative pundits use expressions like not out of the question to describe deceitful practices which are painfully obvious they demonstrate that our side is badly in need of new pundits. This is like fighting a fire with a damp cloth.
I had the disgusting experience of seeing Chris Wallace ‘interview’ David Arsexelrood last night on Fox News. Wallace would ask Davyboy a question. Example [from memory]:
CW: Why is the Obama Justice Department initiating another law suit, this one against Ohio for wanting to allow military personnel a few more days to vote?
Axlebrood: That is a pack of lies made up by Romney and his campaign. The Department of Justice doesn’t want to stop extra voting time for the military, they just want fairness for all other citizens, all should be on the same footing.
CW: Duh, OK. Now let me ask you another question…
Stop the tape…stop it right there. Wallace was asleep. His next question should have been:
CW: So when will the Holder Justice Department initiate all the other law suits to ensure all our citizens receive GI Bill benefits, Veterans Administration medical benefits, Bronze Stars, Combat Infantry Badges. Surely, Mr Axelboot, your title of Senior Adviser to the Obama Campaign should be more grandiose. Perhaps you should be titled Field Marshall Axelbend, or General of the Armies Axelblot, or Admiral of the Ocean Seas and the Chicago River Axelmann. Also of course, if we are going to put our military on an even footing with civilians, and vice versa, we will need a suit to make sure the military are paid overtime pay for more than 40 hours a week worked. Either that or stop paying civilians overtime pay because we now want even footing.
Instead Wallace woke up long enough to explain to Axelschmats that Wallace’s ‘lightning round’ questions, wherein answers would have to be short and sweet and FAST AND FURIOUS, would now begin. So now began this little charade: Wallace asks a simple question. Axelschmits repeats every Demunist talking point created by the Jouralistos from the past two years. http://thevailspot.blogspot.com/2011/01/journolist-membership.html
Now Wallace is having real fun:
CW: (Laughing) Now now, David, hahaha. The rule is fast and furious answers during the lightning round. You so funny, jokey man, you play silly trick on me. Remember short and sweet, you crazy guy.
So Wallace asks another simple question. Axelarse answers by repeating every talking point ever invented by the Muffington Post and Talking Points Memo over the last three years.
CW: Oh, hohoho, more jokey funny tricks. Thank you so much for being on the show. Hahaha.
What an outrageous performance from Wallace! But, I must admit it is no surprise from a man who once named his own wife the Power Player of the Week.
Wallace is far beneath contempt. Even with that, he’s better than the rest of the Media, including FOX.
There is an error in my comment above, it seems. It is not the Justice Department suing another state this time; it is the Obama Campaign, i.e., Admiral of the Sagenowsky Slew [Chicago joke] Axelrod, who is doing the suing.
– running ads in S.F.
“S.F.” as in San Francisco?
Barry is done.
Obama is running ads in Illinois too!! I wonder what his internal polls are showing. Maybe my vote will cout this time.
Illinois as well? Reminds me that Gore lost his home state, Tennessee, in the 2000 election. Disregard most of what they say and follow the money. It will tell you everything you need to know.
Gotta regulate that conservative blogosphere … it’s hindering the management of the news by telling things truthfully and allowing for free speech to take place; especially with the election just a stone’s throw away!
The media puts up false stories about Romney and hides the truth about Obama for the same reason the education system worldwide, K-12 and higher ed, is under organized attack through UNESCO. It is the noetic system of individuals and our society under attack. http://www.invisibleserfscollar.com/oh-good-grief-now-i-need-to-know-what-a-noetic-system-is-because-it-is-under-attack/
The media and too many politicians, bureaucrats, and statist schemers know reality matters less than our perceptions of reality. Attacking the noetic system and false stories and hidden facts all influence our perceptions, our values, our beliefs. Everything that influences our conscious behaviors.
Better yet the media understands just how much Outcomes Based Education which hit high gear in the 90s was about fostering a mind that reacted from emotion or visually. Conscious rational thought never kicks in because the dominance of feelings has been made a reflex through educational pitches.
The media knows this and Common Core simply nationalizes it for all students. The accreditation agencies are making sure this feeling first gets forced on higher ed. With participation in the federal student loan program as the ultimate lever of control.
We are the ones picking up the tab and unaware of all this coordinated maneuvering. Just finished reading Van Jones bragging about always getting the media to run sensational stories about AGW on the front page above the fold.
The corrupted media. Most are owned now by some entity or another that would benefit from a dirigiste politically directed and reorganized economy.
I don’t think Newt should play second fiddle for MItt however his absence from the orchestra is a crying shame.
If Newt were the nominee the lying MSM wouldn’t need to manufacture polls that oversample Democrats by 20 points in order to put Obama ahead by 9.
I do not understand why the MSM is so heavily invested in the tenets of the progressive agenda and their compulsive attack on conservative values. Is it because its main practicioners all went to the same schools, and received the same indoctrination? Certainly our institutions of higher education have demonstrated an intolerance to any criticism of liberal theology resulting in a closed loop. Do they believe that their opinions are intellectually and morally superior? They aren’t. Is it simply an attempt to exercise power and manipulate events? Or is it fear?
Great question, Carla, and one I have puzzled over for a very long time.
Likely there is a variety of causes which differ with the individual, but I think there are two things that are a common thread. One is the journalism schools silently morphed from “telling the facts” to “changing the world for the better” about the time I was in college. (So did the law schools, for that matter, and perhaps other disciplines of which I am not personally aware.) With this seldom stated but broadly understood purpose, it naturally attracts activists and collectivists who tend favor top-down policies.
The second reason I believe for the systematic bias we see is that it is in the proprietary interests of the journalist profession to have an activist federal government. It provides far more opportunities for reportage than simply covering earthquakes and hot dog eating contests. Consider this: local news items, and indeed actions by a local government, are seldom of much interest beyond the confines of that local area. But what Washington does has the potential to affect everybody in the country, and even beyond, and makes for a much more compelling news. Indeed one might wonder if there would be national TV networks or news syndicates if there were no federal government. Check the front page of your local paper. Out of five or six ledes on the first page three or four will be about what the feds are up to now.
Just thoughts.
Lenin identified them as “useful idiots.” In general, journalists are higher-I.Q., lower-maturity people. In other words, they’re relatively bright (not deep, but passably glib) arrested-development cases. They’re relatively articulate and impressed by theories but generally don’t have the common sense to come in out of the rain. They’re “word” people rather than “numbers” people and have no clue how an economy or business actually functions, and they’re generally proud of that ignorance. Other examples: academics and “artists,” such as Hollywood types, musicians such as “Red Bruce” Springsteen, etc. These people will be agitating for the fall of “the system” until the moment they manage to bring it down around their own ears, at which point they still won’t realize/acknowledge their own role in wrecking things. Once their role as useful idiots is over, of course, the thugs they helped bring to power will dispense with them. Any “independent journalists” raking muck about the Castros in Cuba?
It’s simple. Marxists took over the media years ago. By the time Cronkite rose to power, it was a fait accompli.
50 years and multiple generations later, indoctination is no longer necessary. They really believe the koolaid.
Actually, Romney is playing with a two man disadvantage. His campaign team is totally hapless.
Slimestream Media is in the tank for 0 because they believe in him. They share the dream of power, money, and prestige that the Dems covet. Their days are numbered since new publishing is a rapidly declining business model, but that doesn’t seem to affect them in the slightest.
As far as Harry Reid is concerned, unless he made his first claim that Romney hasn’t paid taxes in ten years in the well of the Senate, he can be charged with a felony under at least six different U.S. laws. Being a Senator does not shield him unless the statement was first made on the floor of the Senate. If he spoke those words originally, for example, on a Sunday morning talk show or to some other media type, he should be in trouble. Of course, with Eric Holder at the controls of the Fauxjustice Department Harry has no worries.
Sorry to burst your bubble my friend, but as far as the standard for slanderous and libelous comments goes, the bar is set pretty high for public figures (celebs, athletes, politicos, etc). Rumor, innuendo, and ad hominem attacks are just occupational hazards.
I think a two man advantage with the referees refusing to call obvious fouls by the team with the power play is more like it.
Playing defense doesn’t win the game.
America has more enemies than you can shake a stick at; They’re living next door to all of us, and occupy some of the highest levels of our federal, state, and local, government.
The media has totally discredited itself with it’s obsequious lies about all Conservatives, and blind support of all lies and slander of the Democrat Party.
There’s more than enough criminal activity going on in the lives of Democrats and their lapdog media, that condemn them and provides proof of their lies and slander, but, it’s not being published, or discussed. Nor is their vandalism being prosecuted.
As if there was no more room to print their transgressions, after all the “gaffes” and false economic policy has been assembled and “documented” by the soviet media.
The Democrat Party and their soviet media is now the most threatening organized criminal enterprise in America.
Romney needs to perform like Elliot Ness.
If Obama and his Democrat nazis get another chance to overthrow America, they’ll make Hitler and his clan look like a small Mexican gang in comparison. Their holocaust will be performed on a global scale.
The news entertainment biz gets away with its open affiliation with the socialist party for a few primary reasons:
1) The culture has changed (for the worse), and the media put together are now a petri dish unfriendly to freedom & personal responsibility, and friendly to the transfer of wealth from others & responsibility for a person to others. Looking at the content of media over the past 30 yrs, nearly everybody agrees on pretty much everything, and every day. That has rendered a great and permanent effect on mass opinion.
2) There is no longer the laugh factor. The idea of being mocked and discarded by society for saying or doing something ridiculous is gone, even in the university classroom, the science lab and the court hearing room. The corollary to the end of professional culling is the practice of checking disputed facts objectively and making proper adjustments of media content has also died. It’s what can be gotten away with now; it’s no longer what’s true. This started with Cronkite on Tet, and hasn’t stopped since.
3) It’s a numbers game now, which has pushed democracy into primacy over the Constitution’s law of our democratic republic. Now that governing processes have melded with entertainment processes, the rule of law has been dragged down into the muck of television ratings, Q factors and other measures of popularity. There have always been more people who are poor, lazy or stupid (or all three) than successful people, and now they “little people” are having their say.
4) Entertainment has always centered on individual experience, and played to personal circumstance, emotions, luck and dreams. The dreams mostly involve boogy men, utopian fantasies and the lust for revenge. Thus we have the 1%, Hope and Change, and a spectrum from Debbie Wasserman-Schultz to Nancy to Harry to Oprah to Dr. Phil to Barack Hussein. It’s an LSD spectrum, true, but it’s bright and colorful, which leads people to forget the consequences of their self-pleasuring confusions.
The missing piece to this puzzle is the G.C.V.s, the government check voters!{sounds like a social disease}. This voting block has inherited the Country! They decide. Let the media play their dangerous game, its their thin ice! When dictators and communists take over they go after the media first. The republicans only challenge is to somehow drive a wedge between the democrat party and the gcvs!
One has to wonder what the GCVs will do when the nation is bankrupt. Where will their income come from? That’s everyone from seniors to workers. What about all those people living on government pensions? Someday the check won’t be in the mail. What then?
Shameful, the media’s descent into unabashed partisanship.
Astonishing that they keep it up in the face of irrefutable and continuously mounting evidence of The One’s™ incompetence & even subversion.
Traitorous to abandon media’s important role in the maintenance of the Republic.
The Fifth Column of the Fourth Estate.
“If this were a hockey game, you could say that Obama is playing with a man advantage.”
If this were a hockey game, you could say that Obama is playing with a favorable Referee advantage.
There; Fixed!
Has his media minions working day and night to hobble, even cripple, the opposing team.
The Old Media still has the power to persuade the gullible and uninformed. But it’s power is fading and will fade even more if O is reelected—which I don’t think will happen, fortunately for the OM. If it comes down to a personal choice of which cancer to cut out O loses that contest every time.
Folks: If “0″ is not gone in Nov. then a War in the streets looms closer. Of course thats exactly what the Progressives want.
Many folks are under duress and stress and those cities we all know so well will erupt if we continue with 10 to 17 to 20 percent unemployment. If you actually believe the Govt. figure of 8.2 or 8.3, you are a prime example of outcome based education. A few places are 8.2 or .3, many more are not.
Romney had better step up his attacks on “0″ keep pounding the economy and call Obama what he is a Marxist!
Check “6″
It’s very simple (but not pleasant), the “media” is a part of the left to far left. There is no need to whine or complain about it. It is just a fact that the “media” will do what it can to make sure conservatives lose elections.
Every conservative politician just has to accept that fact and factor that into how they campaign. If you don’t expect “fairness” from Axelrod, why would you expect “fairness” from CBSABCNBCNYTLATWaPoNPR etc.
We all know what the MSM is and who they represent; we often have a good idea of the price too. If you need help keeping up, stick a recent picture of Maureen Dowd on your wall for inspiration and insight.
As for the WaPo, all you have to do is remember this is the rag that recently gave us N*ggerland/N*iggerhead, a media ‘event’ right up there in the annals of infamy alongside the Dreyfus Letter, Walter Duranty and the Protocols of the Elders of Zion.
Anyone recall who first said the MSM can be counted on to deliver six percent of the electorate to the Democrats? It’s ancient — pre-internet, maybe 25-30 yrs ago — and it was said by a Ben-Bradlee-like editor of, I think, Time or Newsweek. Things have gotten worse since then.
Question is, What are you going to do about it? How much more of this kind of analysis do we need?
I’m certain Romney FILED his taxes for the last 10 years (if he had any political hopes he would have to have done this). If he did manage to not owe anything – and that could be possible – then he probably has some huge charitable donations and some great accountants.
If you have a problem with this, then you should take the matter up with Charlie Rangel and Congress. They wrote the tax code.
The SAME tax code that allowed General Electric to not owe any taxes, either!
I’m no Romney booster, but there is no chance whatsoever that he paid no taxes for 1 year, no matter 10.
He has simply been too ambitious for too many years to allow that to happen.
The reason he doesn’t publish his taxes has been well explained. It doesn’t matter what they contain, the evil king and his marxist minions will exploit what is there. As we can see from the last week, they don’t even need any there to be there. They will just make shit up. Romney is far better off letting Reid and others babble on and make fools of themselves rather than having to counter lie after lie based on PUBLISHED data that almost nobody will understand and which will seem arcane and greedy to 75% of the country. By publishing, he would just feed the evil beast. He would be a fool.
Well I could believe he paid no taxes in 2008, since he spent most of the year politicking and the market got crushed, so he may well have lost money for the year. 2002-2007 and 2009-2011, on the other hand, he definitely paid taxes.
If rommney paid no taxes, the shouldn’t Reid be angry at congress, since they wrote the tax laws?
I think Harry Reid forgot that Timmy Geithner is a tax chat as well!
Sorry! I meant tax CHEAT. I also don’t think Mitt is. I got rather excited and mis-typed.
What you have to realize is simply that the Left is beginning to overplay its hand. In Goya’s title, “El sueño de la razón produce monstruos” (The dream of reason produces monsters). Or perhaps:
“Concepts, like individuals, have their histories and are just as incapable of withstanding the ravages of time as are individuals. But in and through all this they retain a kind of homesickness for the scenes of their childhood.”
Soren Kierkegaard
Here it is the mindless application of tools used in yesteryear against Nixon, Bork, and many many others.
The narrative is stale, and the purveyors might as well start crying “Stinking fish!” It will be amusing to see all of ‘die the death of a rag doll’ as Mapes and Rather did.
They won’t notice through.
EVERY thing is ALWAYS about RELIGION.
“If this were a hockey game, you could say that Obama is playing with a man advantage.”
If this were a hockey game, it would be time to send in the Hanson brothers !
“….and the media would not let that happen.” Herein lies the key. It is one reason I feel profoundly discouraged because the media is a crucial link to the electorate. And if they continue to embrace propoganda rather than truth, there is little hope of beating obama. Media malpractice is perhaps one of the most agregious problems we are facing. We can all cheer each other on at conservative sites, but we simply don’t have the clout the msm has. The Romney campaign had better ramp up the intensity of their approach or all is lost. Given the line up that was announced for the convention, I have even less hope. We had all better find races to invest in with our time, energy, and/or money, be it the presidential race, senate races, or congressional race because this election is going to be a game changer.
Just read, ‘THE COMING: A TRUE STORY OF HORROR’ @ amazon.com and you’ll see what Obama is causing!
The left hates the fact The New York Times , The Washington Post and big three networks no longer have a monopoly on the news. This is why they hate the internet, the fact that there are so many news outlets now avaliable to anyone with a PC frightens them. This includes the ability to access news sources such as newspaers and local news channels anywhere in the world. Before the internet, how would an ordianary person be able to read a newspaper from say from Las Vegas, or London or New Zealand? Talk Radio and other cable news services are also a thorn in their side.
Here is something that will prove my point. I was on discusion board once about the subject of “The Fairness Doctrine” A poster who described himself as
Dr. —– ——– Phd Media History University of ——— (I’ll leave out his name and school) who was a big fan of Al Franken, Air America Radio amd NPR was pushing for “The Fairness Doctrine”. He said (not a direct quote from my memory) “The Fairness Doctrine would restore the kind of orderly reporting of the news of kind before cable, talk radio and the internet that we had when the three major networks were Americans main source of news” Then he went to spout supposed stastics of how un-informed people who lsiten to talk radio and Fox news are.
Now, notice his use of the word “orderly” I found that rather interesting.
I saw some questions from those “studies” purporting to demonstrate that viewers of Fox News are misinformed, and noticed a subjective aspect to many or most of them: questions where there’s room for various interpretations of data (e.g. what is Obama’s religion?); questions where the actual facts are seriously in dispute; questions based on the premise that anything reported by Fox but ignored by the other networks & NYT & WaPo must be untrue.
A lefty commenter asserted that these “studies” proved that Fox viewers had wrong “perceptions” — interesting word choice, since it implies a subjective element: i.e. if you don’t view things from the same angle as leftists do, that means Fox has misled you.
Sometimes when I’ve made a comment that a lefty doesn’t believe, the response has been blubbering about “Fox News propaganda” — though I don’t have a TV and therefore don’t watch Fox!
Here’s the lefty formula: “If it’s on Fox News, it must be false. If I don’t believe what you say, it means you were brainwashed by Fox News!”
Yesterday I heard a neighbor practically hyperventilating about Fox as being nothing but horrible right-wing propaganda. Funny, because I’ve often heard MSNBC blaring from his window, but never Fox. I doubt he ever watches it.
I enjoyed this article very much and as someone who is paying attention I see what is happening between the Obama campaign and the lap dog media. What I don’t fully understand is why.Journalism use to be a very admired and trust profession. Where did the integrity go? Are all journalist so brainwashed by our universities that they cannot report the facts without them being slanted by opinion?
Journalist must think that they are part of the enlightened elite and the Main Street Americans are all named Bubba and cling to our Bibles and guns. But if Obama assessment of us is true, I am proud to cling to my faith and my right to bears arms.
Why put stories on 2 pages?
So they get more clicks and increase their web ranking. Most sites engage in this sort of thing, dicing up content to increase traffic statistics.
This has never been a game for the Progressive/Liberal/Democrats. It has always about power, raw power over us. Republicans play their game by rules, politeness, courtesy while the Democrats would eat their own young and mothers, too, to get that power. We are seeing the destructive power of that power with Barack Obama. He and the Progressives will KILL America, the American Way, capitalism, freedom, free enterprise, commerce, you name it. The very few, the very bad will manage your lives.
I forgot to mention that Obama and the Dems are going to use every expedient and trick to rig this election for an Obama win in order, as he said, to transform the U.S. into something entirely “new” by 2017. “ACORN” type groups are shifting into overdrive to register every person (or name)to pad the vote for Obama and at-risk Dem candidates.
Someone needs to explain why we claim the MSM to be biased, rather than a propaganda bureau for the Left. If they don’t function as a propaganda bureau, how would a group who proclaimed their purpose as a propaganda bureau be more effective or different. The only reason they don’t declare their purpose is because of ratings and the possibility of losing some of their less than aware independent viewers.
CNN has devolved to the point that there was no longer a pretense of objectivity, but they seem determined to change personalities rather than direction. An objective news organization could take lion’s share of a public hungry for objective news, but their purpose is to be a financially successful propaganda bureau for the Left. The idea of being objective is a waste of an opportunity.
The problem starts in university; if a student doesn’t reflect the party line and ideology, he will be bullied and ridiculed by professors who have attained their positions in part because of a strict adherence to the party. Those of you who have participated in academia and deny this situation are not being honest with yourselves. Most of the departments want to turn out a superior product, with the correct ideology.
We may have passed up a unique opportunity when the Libs and Progressives were pushing the Fairness Doctrine in talk radio. It is a ludicrous assumption that people will listen to the mindless blathering of Libs because they are given parity; however, if we would have insisted on parity in the university, we could have made a difference.
The Lib radio people are boring, that is the reason no one listens to their inane programing; but if you have university instructors with the ability to offer a different approach, within a generation we could turn back this Leftist tide of dogma and indoctrination.
Why is cancer and mental disability more prevalent in the Liberal community?
I don’t know about cancer, but as far as mental disabilty I suggest you read THE LIBERAL MIND by Dr. Lyle Rossiter MD to give you some thoughts on this.
Apparently, you seem to think I need some references or documentation.
We’re being shown that this is not necessary any more, by the highest ranking members of our media and government.
Just make any outrageous claim you want.
Mr. Fowler;

I’m astonished and frightened at the fact that many people consider leftist rants objective truth rather than propaganda as other posters have stated. If the electorate is so blind that they can’t see through the MSM, that they support Mr. Urkel as President after a disastrous 1st term, then its nothing but just desserts. Even a close victory for Romney is a catastrophe in my opinion, as the leftist conspiracy and designs of force will only regroup for the next battle. Obama needs to be ejected, rather than simply losing a tight race. As the founding fathers clearly stated, only a virtuous people is deserving of liberty. Once a nation discards virtue, it discards wisdom and knowledge, and the proper vision to understand what freedom really is.
“The people can never penetrate into the dark labyrinth of court intrigue, and will always have difficulty in detecting the turpitude that lurks under elegant manners, refined tastes, and graceful language. But to pillage the public purse and to sell the favors of the state are arts that the meanest villain can understand and hope to practice in his turn.
Besides, what is to be feared is not so much the immorality of the great as the fact that immorality may lead to greatness.”
Alexis de Tocqueville – Democracy in America
It’s tempting to do a little back-slapping to tell your friends that their success is all about their culture. I’m sure that we, they, all of us appreciate the complements.
I live outside of Chicago. Many non-Democrats from the area will tell you that their greatest fear with Obama was seeing Chicago style politics in the White House which is exactly what we got. The media here and across the country were very excited when he got elected. Now they are like the three monkeys: hear no evil, speak no evil, and see no evil. I have tried repeatedly to get them to see the error of their ways but I might as well have been speaking to a brick wall. Trust me that it is the blind leading the blind.
If anyone wants to see just how bad Obama is then they only need to look at his Attorney General, Eric Holder. He stopped the second Holy Land Foundation trial, probably at the behest of Obama. As I recall, the reason given made absolutely no sense. He has consistently stopped states that have voter ID laws from using them. Thus, encouraging voter fraud. (The ACLU believes that having to show a state ID to vote is a punitive requirement although the Supreme Court ruled it to be legal.) Most of these states permit people who meet specific criteria to obtain state ID’s free of charge. (I sent a message to the ACLU stating that instead of stopping this legislation, they should help people get ID’s. That, of course, fell on deaf ears.)
The Justice Department had practically won a case against the New Black Panthers for voter intimidation and Holder screwed it up. The New Black Panthers then proceeded to extend their intimidation to other cities in 2010 and received only a slap on the wrist.
As of 2010, I believe, Holder’s Department of Justice had brought several lawsuits but when the department failed to provide proof of their allegations the judges involved fined them over $4 million of our taxpayer dollars. Under Bush the Justice Department was never fined. Furthermore, if a county has a white minority that group should forget going to the Justice Department if they are subject to voter intimidation as they will receive no help. This is called getting even.
I wish Romney would do more to attack the Justice Department. I have suggested it after all the Obama people claimed that the Bush Justice Department had been politicized when, in fact, it had not.
Why do people become journalists? Are all the crack whore jobs taken?
For those of you who think it’s too late for the republic, I’ll let you in on a little secret. We’re not done yet. What makes me think that?
1. Chik-Fil-A day. Political correctness does have its limits and this proved it in spades.
2. T-SPLOST in the metro Atlanta area. Locals voted down another new tax regardless of the nobility of the cause.
3. Ted Cruz victory in Texas. The Tea Party movement lives and it’s back with a vengeance!!
