I think the Israelis should move intensely to set up mutual defense treaties with their Sunni neighbours. The reality is that Iran is a major exporter of Shia terror and anti-Sunni activity. Thet really care about exporting their Shiite revolution to their classic Arab adversaries. Israel is a convenient punching bag. The Arabs are resource rich but divided, weak and as the Iraq war showed, military pushovers. It is in their interest to end their conflict with Israel, turn around and face their true historic enemy - the Persians. This is truly a crisis but one that callls for out of the box thinking.
