Once in this cycle a leftist led nation is increasingly dependent on socialist dogmas, and the need for stricter governance increases because the left cannot contemplate any argument in case it be shown they are wrong. Rather than involve debate, the need grows for closing down opposition. The implementation of thought control and social engineering emphasizes requires more and more intervention, which is designed to to ensure that only the left can have the answer. Citizens need not worry about seeking answers because there is the unflinching support of a docile state media and a slow erosion of independent voices. So the left-leaning country can now only tolerate more left-leaning leaders, and the pattern of state intervention is cemented into the routines of everyday life. Thus the future is guaranteed, and those who once eagerly signed away their independence may wonder briefly how on earth this travesty happened. It seemed like such a good idea at the time...
