Today, as he has during five previous appearances in front of congressional committees regarding Fast and Furious, Attorney General Eric Holder feigned being poorly prepared and claimed to know little or nothing about the program — even more than a year after it was shut down.

I give him more benefit of the doubt than he deserves by claiming Holder feigned being poorly prepared; the alternative is that he simply doesn’t care that federal laws were broken under his watch, and that people on both sides of the border died as a result.

But Holder’s shameful testimony was overshadowed by the disgraceful Ranking Member Elijah Cummings, Edolphus Towns, Eleanor Holmes Norton, Lacy Clay, Carolyn Maloney, and the other Democrats in the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform’s minority.

Hundreds have died, an unknown number were maimed, and thousands of family members have faced a shocking loss as direct result of the guns provided to the Sinaloa drug cartel by the Obama Justice Department. The minority Democrats have not offered so much as a soft word for the victims.

Their rigid focus was on accomplishing three political tasks:

1. Creating the false narrative that Operation Fast and Furious was the same as weapons interdiction programs during the Bush era.

This is a lie. Wide Receiver and other operations dredged up by the minority were controlled deliveries, where surveillance was supposed to be constant. Fast and Furious was gunwalking, allowing criminals to walk away from law enforcement oversight to commit crimes. Further, Democrats obfuscated that the earlier programs were designed to result in arrests before crimes were committed. Fast and Furious explicitly relied upon these weapons being used in crimes, then traced. Fast and Furious relied upon gun violence, including murders, to take place as a fundamental aspect of the program’s operational success. Let that sink in, if you dare.

2. Shifting the argument to support more gun control laws.

Time and again, Democrats tried to claim that gun dealers were the problem, and that more gun control laws needed to be passed to prevent this sort of crime. They purposefully and blatantly overlooked that these gun dealers allowed known straw purchasers to buy weapons on the orders of Holder’s own Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF). They ignore the fact that existing laws stipulate that a straw-purchasing felony conviction carries with it up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. Perhaps they should check the website that DOJ helps run that is dedicated to this fact.

Of course, if Oversight Democrats were really worried about gun trafficking, they’d press Attorney General Holder to explain why the Department of Justice chooses to prosecute so few straw-purchasing cases, and actually pleads most potential felony straw prosecutions down to misdemeanors, putting gun-running felons right back on the street.

Yes, you read that right. Under Eric Holder’s leadership, DOJ decided not to aggressively prosecute straw purchasers, as demonizing the gun dealers the ATF forced to sell guns to straw purchasers was much more important for their hopes of justifying more gun-control laws with just a few hundred Mexican deaths.

They showed up to protect the president, and showed no interest in justice for the dead.

Did I mention the dead guy is white, no of racism here. Right?

    • RebeccaH

It might also help to mention the several hundred dead Mexicans, who were probably not white.

      • Mark Matis

But none of them matter, unless they were already illegally in the United States and registered as Democrats.

      • Terry W

We might be more precise if we notice that none of the murdered were black.

  2. 2. don

Well, after almost a year Holder and company still can’t figure out who the dumb shit was who authorized the operation, but they want more Federal gun control to control them thar dangerous guns, um hum, they sho’nough do, um hum. They can do nation wide instant checks on a thousand gun sales happening every hour, 24/7, but Holder can’t find the smuck who authorized a modified recycled version of a gun sting program—-eeeeewwww, a Bush sting that failed for no lack of trying–but Holder’s mystery person decided to do it even dumber than Bush; more guns, more crime, and don’t let the Mexican authorities know the guns are coming. Damn Holder and his boys are dumb.

  3. 3. SPQR

A US Attorney has pled the Fifth Amendment to avoid testifying. That alone should be evidence of Holder’s misfeasance and together with his established lies in his testimony, basis for impeachment.

  4. 4. tanstaafl

This was a travesty, and the saddest part of this bloody drama is that the minority no doubt thought that what the did today was “right,” according to what they consider their moral imperative.

It is appalling how House democrats & members of the Congressional Black Caucus are circling the wagons, are freely dissembling and outright lying, to protect this moronic attorney general.

It’s another sign, or symptom, that the rule of law and the Republic are nearly defunct.

    • P Jay Medilla

OK, time for a little mind experiment.

Let’s say…oh…that Holder and his posse decided to set this gun-running operation not in Mexico, but in DC. Or Oakland, or…Birmingham, AL. It’s not so much of a stretch as you might think.

But, let’s say the results of that op were as bad as they were in Arizona only, the people who got killed weren’t white Border Patrol Agents but local black teens and then, just to make it interesting, a local black politician.

During the investigation, it was all found out how the DOJ manipulated it all to make it a “gun-flood” in order to get more gun control laws, as we’ve seen here, without the premise that “all gun crimes committed in Mexico are done with US-provided weapons”. But the investigation revealed that most of the guns trend back to straw-purchases set up by the DOJ in order to have a spike in gun-related murders.

Do you think Sharpton, and other black activist politicians would sit around and try to protect Holder then? I think not. They would get to the bottom of it faster than an eight-year-old gets to the bottom of a Slurpee in July. In fact, their “investigative efforts” would likely turn up reams of “evidence” that wasn’t even true, so they could also finger certain others who they wanted to get rid of.

The real shame here is, of course, that the media continues to put it on ignore and act as if nothing happened. Hell, Ollie North got 24/7 coverage back in the 80′s for something that was ridiculously less important. But that’s the name of the game, isn’t it?

When you have a good double-standard, you stick with it.

      • tanstaafl

There are so many US Representatives (not to mention Senators) speaking and lying all over the airwaves in support of a personal and strategic version of reality (as opposed to the truth) that listening to them at all is a waste of time.

Yesterday, I caught impeached federal judge Alcee Hastings (elected from his district regardless) pontificating like some grand old Solon on C-Span.

It’s all about the spin, the only thing these folks ask themselves when they’re getting ready to yak in front of the cameras, how they will orchestrate “the optics”.

The community organizer in chief is the poster child.

    • “…the rule of law and the Republic are nearly defunct.”

      NEARLY?!

Brother, “the rule of law and the Republic” are as dead as last-weeks FISH, and have been for a whole lot longer than I really care to think about.

The only question now is how long can they keep the total collapse from coming, and whether we’ll manage a Restoration thereafter or sink into total anarchy and/or tyranny.

In the meantime, if you care, you’d really better get busy gathering the tools, materials and skills that will be necessary to do what you can to help. We’re going to need as many real Patriots as we can get.

God help us – and GOD SAVE OUR REPUBLIC!

  5. 5. BK

Another seemingly unimportant little difference between Fast & Furious and the Bush programs: the Mexican government was informed of the Bush operations.

  6. 6. Ellen

Hundreds of Mexicans dead, and Holder doesn’t care? Well, they’re little brown people, but they aren’t his little brown people. As long as they stay buried in Mexico, they can’t vote for Democrats.

    • Keaton

Not just Holder doesn’t care, the media and the rest of Obama’s supporters don’t care. Think how low these bastards are. Hundreds of innocent people are murdered, and they don’t care.

      • cali

Why would they care? They have no problem with 50+ million babies being murdered since Roe vs Wade. A few more won’t make a difference!

    • Bill Hawks

Don’t you get it? Because hundreds of the innocent are now fast and furiously dead, Eric Holder is THE VICTIM.

That’s malignant reasoning — “even in Idaho or wherever you’re from.”

Respect the office, not the officious — especially the malignantly officious.

His hands are dripping with the blood of the innocents murdered yet Holder demands “fairness” for himself. What was fair about being fast and furiously murdered by Holder’s ambition? Where is the Social Justice in that one?

Have you noticed how the proverbial omelette eggs progressives love to break always belong to someone else’s family?

  7. 7. CrazyGaloot

I’m becoming more and more convinced that the Left is trying to provoke some sort of very serious crisis, maybe even a full out race war. This kind of official democrat congressional obfuscation is downright delusional and unbelievable on it’s face, yet they show up and indignantly present it as fact. Are we that far gone as a Nation?

    • R Daneel

      Yes.

    • blotto

Yes they are as a measure of last resort. If the Won is challenged in the election-a serious challenge-they will incite a race war and civil unrest. That will allow Dear Leader to call for martial law. Perhaps as the NC Gov. said, even forgo the elections.

Everything they have done has been a trial balloon: weilding, black teen thugs attacking white Americans, NBP intimidating voters, challenging several states’ efforts to combat illegal voting, and doing what the CBC is doing at this investigation.

They are seeing how far they can push white America on the right. And if we acquiesce they will triump in the fall.

      • bobbcat

        You got it, blotto.

Is it any small wonder the Republican establishment elites have heralded Mitt Romney as their “golden boy” to go up against Obama? I would not at all be surprised to see Romney do a 180 out from the scorched-earth, politics of personal destruction against Gingrich when he (Mittens) becomes the nominee. Watch how he emulates McLame. These people are scared to death of running a real campaign against Obama for the reasons cited above, not to mention the principles of AA these morons hold so dear.

      • King Hootchie

King see problem with color. Same crime, different color, no crime. Also, some color like same color more than America for which it stands. Not good. Idea should trump color, culture too, but doesn’t. Mention Jefferson, some think Jefferson “Moving on up”. Not same thing. Holder should be “moving on down”.

King happy with same color kingdom. Everyone on same page. America, not so lucky. Different color mean different page. Message about America not get through to different colors. Sad. America have best message for any color.

Give people freedom, they prefer less from tribe. Give people opportunity, and they still take less from tribe. Tribe problem, not America. America higher calling, tribe- not so much. Choice is tribe over America. America not wait for stupid tribals. America move on. Tribe have problem when America lose patience. Tribe have big problem when White Man lose patience…counting.

America not waiting. Moving to new land. All aboard, or not. If not aboard, America wish you well. Good luck with struggle. Hope it works out. A tight schedule, America waits for no one. Can’t. Would not be America if it did.

  8. 8. Neo

Oh. Come on. Let’s give USAG Holder is due.

He has managed to allow a pestalence to be unleashed upon the land that managed to kill a US Border agent and hundreds of Mexicans. That’s no small feat.

  9. The Democrats didn’t have any problems going after a Republican president during Watergate. And nobody died in Watergate. Here we have a dead border agent plus God knows how many dead Mexicans. To put party over what is best for the country is not only a disgrace, it’s as close to a criminal felony as you can get. Because what do you call elected officials who willingly and knowingly hide information to protect people who were responsible for the deaths of so many other individuals? Scum doesn’t even come close to what these people are. I hope Issa nails Holder’s butt to the wall.

  10. 10. michiganruth

while Eric Holder richly deserves to be frog-marched right to jail, I kind of like the idea of him staying right where he is. Holder, Joe Biden, and Debbie Whatsername Schultz are three constant reminders of why we all MUST VOTE OBAMA OUT OF OFFICE IN NOVEMBER.

  11. 11. Dave Surls

    Disgraceful?

Shoot, man, they’re Democrats. They were the scum of the earth in John Calhoun’s time and they’re the scum of the earth now.

Why wouldn’t they behave in a disgraceful manner? It’s traditional.

  12. 12. Rich K

Geez people, this bunch governs the Chicago Way for christs sake. Why pretend it was going to be any different than there.

  13. 13. BJM

They showed up to protect the president, and showed no interest in justice for the dead.

The only dead folks Dems respect are those who vote, repeatedly.

  14. 14. Dan

Congressman Issa needs to quit issuing threats of contempt of congress and give holder a date certain when the documents he is asking for are to be delivered. When Holder fails to meet that date he needs to be held in contempt and put in jail. Threats don’t work on people like Holder, action does. Find him in contempt and jail him for six months. Losing your freedom to protect someone else will soften up Holder.

    • Voyager

      Who will enforce it?

      • Ryan

It would be the Sergeant-at-Arms’ responsibility to enforce such an order. Putting him in jail though? I’m not sure how that would work…probably a federal detention facility, but not sure of the mechanics or logistics of it.

    • bobbcat

I don’t believe a citation for contempt of Congress can go through without the executive branch’s authority. Good luck with that in Obama’s case.

      • NuKNFutz

I believe you’re correct about the citiation going through the Executive Branch, bobbcat. It would be interesting to see what would happen if it was so. Maybe then we’d see the obamessiah tip his hand in a way that couldn’t be ignored.

Now that would be sweet indeed.

        • guthriej

If Janet Reno didn’t lose her job over Waco, Eric Holder isn’t going to lose his over F&F, OK?

  15. 15. Llarry

Elijah Cummings, Edolphus Towns, Eleanor Holmes Norton, Lacy Clay, Carolyn Maloney

Look up their photos on Google. You’ve never seen an uglier, more corrupt-looking set of mugs in your life.

    • Ron

Llarry I wish I hadn’t taken your advise and went to Google, now I’ll have to sleep with all the lights on tonight.

  16. 16. Ed1

America has truly been fundamentally changed. Some of the most egregious violations of law in American history have been abetted by agents of the U.S. government, and congressional Democrats are making an all-out effort to aid the Department of Justice in stonewalling the investigation. A majority of the major media sources are either completely ignoring the stonewalling, or actively assisting with incomplete and misleading reporting.

With each passing day, the impression that the United States is falling apart becomes stronger. It’s a sad time for America.

  17. 17. BMoon

“Stonewall Holder” is what the Obamanists admiringly will call him, as their destructive rebellion against the Republican Constitutional government established by the Founders crumbles into horrific ignominy.

  18. 18. Chris

Let see here, F&F killed a white guy and a bunch of mexicans. Looks like none of Holder’s ‘people’ got dead. So Elijah Cummings, Edolphus Towns, Eleanor Holmes Norton, Lacy Clay, Carolyn Maloney, like their heroes Holder and obama, really couldn’t give a sh!t.

slimy bastards one and all, and holder and obama are the sleaziest of the lot.

  19. 19. ThunderBunny

It’s very simple. The Democrats sitting in that room were criminals. Every single last one. Criminals defending one of their own. What else would you expect?

    • Konnie

With Democrats, a criminal past (and present) is a resume’ enhancer, a feature, not a bug.

  20. 20. Anonymous

As usual, Democrats care only about politics and not about doing their job or our country.

  21. 21. Max Regor

There was on Democrat who had something important to say. Here is the link to the report.

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/02/02/eric-holder-congress-fast-and-furious_n_1251161.html

Here is what he asked and the response.

Stephen Lynch (D-Mass.), asked for Holder’s opinion on whether top Justice Department officials should be required to sign off when federal agents willfully allow criminal activity in the course of an investigation. Lynch drew a parallel between Fast and Furious and the FBI’s use of mobsters in Boston as confidential informants, despite their links to numerous killings.

“Here, everyone escaped responsibility because of plausible deniability,” Lynch said. “That’s troubling to me. That scares the hell out of me.”

Holder said it was a “legitimate question,” but urged caution. “We don’t want to go too far in this sense,” he said. “We have to have that ability. It’s an extremely important law enforcement technique.”

  22. 22. HUSKY

“With each passing day, the impression that the United States is falling apart becomes stronger. It’s a sad time for America.” – Ed1

Sorry Ed1 but that is nonsense … this is exactly the kind of narrative that this administration loves to hear and unfortunately it seems to be catching on; mainly out of fear.

The U.S.A. is bigger than any “administration” … and this current one has made a typical arrogant mistake by underestimating the spirit and resilience of the American people. Obama and Holder can only succeed against people they can bully. So a few Dem morons show up alongside Holder, puffing up their chests in an attempt threaten Issa and giving justice the proverbial middle finger. Nah! It ain’t gonna work any more …. … this is not Chicago during prohibition and Obama is no Al Capone; far from it. Obama is more like Pee Wee Herman … so let’s get with it and press on.

Note to Issa … If you have the goods; Holder should be cuffed along with anyone else standing in line; including Obama. Otherwise, it’s a fools game and justice is just a nice idea.

    • J Milam

Dude, why you wanna dis Pee Wee like dat?

    • Ed1

Sorry Husky, but your comment is lots of rah! rah! rah! “…… this is exactly the kind of narrative that this administration loves to hear and unfortunately it seems to be catching on; mainly out of fear.” Let me explain Mr. Husky talker, there is a difference between fear for self and fear for one’s country. Obama was voted into office by a majority of voters after telling everyone who would listen that he was going to FUNDAMENTALLY transform America. It was also well known that his claim to fame was being a community organizer who attended Jeremiah Wright’s “God damn America” church and that his chosen associates were Marxists such as Ayers the bomber. Maybe you don’t fear for the future of our constitutional republic, but I do.

And at the end of his comment, the brave, Husky mouse says, Okay Issa, I leave it up to you to put the bell on the cat!

“Press on” to your dark mouse hole, oh brave Husky mouse, and continue to mouth your empty platitudes from the world you have created in your own mind. By the way, don’t peak out into the real world, you would be shocked. Continue to shelter yourself in your imaginary world of empty platitudes.

  23. 23. aoetra

if we’re waiting for a Democrat Howard Baker to jump in with ‘what did the Attorney General know, and when did he know it’ …

    never going to happen.

  24. 24. buddy larsen

What’s going on here, with this administration? Idaho state representative Curtis Bowers is pretty sure he knows.

    http://www.therightscoop.com/open-thread-grinding-america-down/

    http://www.rightsidenews.com/2010080211218/editorial/us-opinion-and-editorial/must-see-video-curtis-bowers-agenda-grinding-america-down.html

The second of the two is the more recent. The first has some important data tho. They’re short and well-done.

  25. 25. mac

If Holder’s not in jail when Romney’s sworn in, I hope it takes less than 15 minutes for the warrant to go out afterward. He deserves at least ten years in jail doing hard time.

  26. 26. Gary Hoff

Again in today’s F&F hearing, the Dems bring up the “90K gun recovered at Mexico crime scenes and 64K traced to the US” line. We must tear apart this 60K number and get details as to where the 60K were traced to; FFL’s?; private sellers?; the US gov. from sales to Mexico gov? Until we destroy this number, new gun laws, supported by Fast and Furious, are coming in a big way.

    • tionico

Of ALL the recovered guns in Mewxico, about thirty percent are considered “traceable”, and those numbers given to BATF to trace. Of THAT number, yes, ninety percent trace back to a first sale at retail here in the US. Of THOSE, established as originating (at retail) here in the US, a large percentage were NOT purchased from a FFL then found their way south. I can’t recall all these numbers just now, but the bottom line is of well over a hundred thousand crime guns recovered in Mexico in the past ten years, ONLY about seven thousand could be traced to an FFL transfer leading to their export. Since Gunwalker/Fast and Furious is known to have delivered some 2500 guns onti Mexico, fully ONE THIRD of all guns known to have originated through US retail sales were sent to Mexico by Holder’s goons. So, where’s the “justice” in that? And the lamestream lie distribution system here in the US continues to “sell” the “ninety percent” garbage.

  27. 27. ChrisS

I don’t see why everybody is so upset. People died because of Fast and Furious. Big deal, people die because of Democratic Party policies everyday, with the vast majority being rabid Democratic Party supporters. You don’t see their families raising any Herman Cain do you?
    The DNC Fight Song:
    Kill ‘em in the womb,
    kill ‘em in the streets,
    Kill all my voting peeps!
    Then Blame the GOP!!

  28. 28. Linda Rivera

300 or more Mexican innocents were murdered because of the ruthless U.S. government. Murder breaks the law and is supposed to be prosecuted. Is the mass murder of innocents government policy if it accomplishes a specific goal?

    Which innocents are targeted next?

Everything that is good, just and beautiful in our nation is being destroyed.

Bible, Genesis 4:10 And God said, “What have you done? The voice of your brother’s blood cries out to Me from the ground.”

  29. 29. Obi-jonKenobi

Hey, people, take a deep breath here.

This program ran off the rails but nothing more than sloppy incompetent bureaucrats run amok. SAME FREAKING THING as Operation Wide Receiver in the Bush Administration and same result. Shameful – especially the second time around – and cause for firings, no doubt, but not the sinister plot some suggest or reason for Holder to step down.

If you want Holder’s head, at least demand it for something he IS guilty of, like failing to prosecute Bush Administration members for torture or failing to indict ANY of the Wall Street crowd for the massive fraud that led to the biggest economic meltdown in 100 years.

    • The Bush Administration got permission from the Mexican government to conduct Operation Wide Receiver. The Obama Administration didn’t bother with such niceties for Operation Fast and Furious.

So, no, it’s not the same freaking thing.

      • Obi-jonKenobi

        Small difference but same results.

But, apparently you weren’t obsessing over what the Bush Administration did, right? It only became an issue when the mouth-breathers on the right saw Obama do it.

        • “small difference”?
Wide Receiver was a JOINT op with the Mex.gov – F&F was DELIBERATELY HIDDEN from them.
W.R. Guns were fitted with tracking devices, F&F made NO EFFORT to track the guns AT ALL.
W.R. guns were monitored all the way to the border, and the ball was dropped on the MEXICAN side by the Mex.Gov. F&F was deliberately HIDDEN – NOT ONLY FROM MEXICANS BUT EVEN FROM US PERSONNEL IN MEXICO.
W.R. bureaucrats were HORRIFIED when they learned guns had escaped, and the op was shut down. F&F Mgrs were “GIDDY” when they learned of the crimes committed with their guns and decided to escalate the operation.

Other than that – and much, much more – you’re right: They were EXACTLY The same!

Your ilk used to amaze me – now you just disgust me.

    • tanstaafl

So you just blithely accept the “Bush did it too” party line.

And are not familiar with Holder’s dissembling and lying during his Congressional testimony last May.

Or the incriminating statements of an asst. AG as well as the involvement of states’ AG and people in his office in Arizona.

You’re the democrat wet dream, just accept the party line of blow it off.

      • obi-jonKenobi

As much as I dislike Holder, he has miles to go in dishonest testimony to even come close to Alberto Gonzales and all of the gang that politicized the Justice Department. Now THERE was where we needed some accountability.

        • tanstaafl

Again, all you can apparently do is cite some (trumped up) allegations of past malfeasance in order to justify the current crop.

Besides illegally dismissing the voter intimidation case against the new black panthers, besides the insane insistence on a civil show trial of terrorists in NYC, besides hiring nothing but idiotlogues like himself at Justice, besides being a moron (yesterday, Holder in his so called testimony, tried to diss the Oversight committee. representative from Utah saying…”wherever you’re from”)…Holder’s DOJ has most recently been implicated in dismissing cases against 2 virulent Islamist organizations.

If you REALLY want to dredge up the past, there were all those creepy things Eric Holder did on Bill Clinton’s behalf in the olden daze.

          • obi-jonKenobi

Thanks for making my point about the mouth-breathers panting hysterical about . . . nothing.

Really, you ought to get out more, moron. That’s some serious bull shit you like to lunch on.

        • buddy larsen

Gonzales? Guilty as Scooter Libby –of running afoul of some minor technicality (you can’t even remember what it was, can you? quick –on to google!) while totally buried (Alinsky “frozen”) under a full-court left-wing press to criminalize the politics of the opposition. Comparing that case to the current case is almost unbelievably ugly –not to mention the tellingly in-character left-wing nonchalance about several hundred murders with plenty more where those came from.

And Gonzales resigned! Out of respect for we-the-people, who were paying for a DoJ able to do its job –which due to the deliberate sabotage of people like you, his was not ever going to be.

          • obi-jonKenobi

You clueless twits claiming Gonzales only ran afoul of some minor technicalities evidently aren’t familiar with the DOJ’s own inspector generals report that said in NO UNCERTAIN TERMS, GONZALES ET ALL HAD POLITICIZED THE JUSTICE DEPARTMENT by a number of actions. It’s there if you want to look it up.

How’s that for off the top of my head. You people aren’t even worth the link to the information. You’re so deep in either ignorance or denial – or both – that nothing would penetrate the inner labyrinth of your dark little minds.

          • P Jay Medilla

If by “politicized” you mean that he steered it back towards constitutional law, then I guess I’d have to agree.

Obi, your ad hominem attacks do not serve you very well. I suspect you spend most of your time at liberal blogs and the vitriol and name-calling there go on incessantly. Please note that you are the only one here calling people names.

To what end? To further antagonize people who are, as you say, already angry? The only motivation for name-calling, in this particular case is to anger them (us) further, since you really haven’t offered any substantive rebuttal.

Normally, I would have read your posts with some eye toward what you libs call “fairness” and try to see the equalization there. But you claim that because Bush did it, it’s therefore OK for this current administration to do it. Further, you fail to recognize that the motives for the two operations were very different and that the Bush administration, once seeing it was a bad idea, canned it. Fast. They also did not deny it every happened, like Holder first did. No one in the Bush administration claimed ignorance about it, as Holder did.

You seem to fail to see corruption in this DOJ. Granted, it can happen in either a republican or democrat-controlled edifice but this is corruption on a scale that surpasses Watergate or Iran-Contra. This AG fails to acknowledge his responsibility and instead deflects argument points by claiming racism. I used to see this in the military. But it was usually done by people in their 20′s. To see a man of about 50 or so do it is repulsive and absolutely childish. It smacks of a character trait that is all-too-common in people who feel they are superior. When caught, they look for any “out” they can find. A man of true character, aside from endorsing a plan such as this to begin with, would stand up and say, “I did it…it’s MY responsibility and I am fully accountable to any and all actions assigned to this issue”. If he did that, my respect for him would go up a notch or two.

He’s not being held accountable because he’s black. He’s not being held accountable because of Obama. He’s being held accountable because someone or some ONES in his department, including himself broke the law to such an extent that it seems to touch on several different agencies and people of high office.

Evidently, you haven’t been around high-ranking people when the proverbial fecal-fan interface unit kicks in. Some run and hide. Some lie. Some deflect…Some do all three. Their big britches led them to believe they could get away with something but when it all went to hell that same pair of britches suddenly became very small and when it came time to act like an adult, Holder has shown his inability to do so.

Think what you like Obi. I disagree with you.

You should stick to watching Star Wars movies, there is more truth there than in your diatribes.

People, people, people. Everything is on the up and up at DOJ. Why you ask? Why because Obi-creativeKenobi says BOOSH did it. Different criticism, same answer. Every f time.

Everything that is good, just and beautiful in our nation is being destroyed.

I admit it would appear things very bleak for our country. When justice is clearly perverted at the highest levels as it is here, then it is easy to conclude America in its death throes.

But not everything, Linda. The thread alone proves that there are still people out there with the moral clarity to recognize right and wrong, and the conviction to try and make things right.

Don’t forget Elijah too felt all alone, not realizing there were seven thousand in Israel whose knees have not bowed down to Baal and whose mouths have not kissed him.

    Keep the faith.

Y’all might want to review this –Owens speculating on what was behind it all –what may have been the pre-2010 election frame.

Yes, it’s a few months old but it augments the current day to day events in the scandal.

Lots of helpful material in the comments, too.

Tex Taylor is right –threads such as this are a good sign –a breath of fresh air in a world laboring under the weight of the false-hearted.

Once again, the repubs have to take it to the dems. Accuse them of supporting a program that kills our law enforcement agents, that supplies Mexican cartels that are killing thousands of Mexican citizens. For chris’ sake, put on the record a question asking the dem ‘colleagues’ whether they support those ends and if not, why are they covering up for this ‘criminal activity’ on the part of the DOJ. Ask them for cryin out loud. Why don’t these people fight for us, create a stir, making it impossible for the media to ignore these hearings and put this pig of an AG in prison where he should have been a long time ago.

John Boehner is the one who doesn’t want to remove Eric Holder.

Meet the “Silent Speaker,” whose foot is on the brake of the Gunwalker investigation. The devil’s own day. “Boner is going to wish he never heard of ‘Gunwalker.’”
The face of the Gunwalker Cover-up. No, not the one on the left, the one on the right with the big mallet.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alberto_Gonzales

    excerpt:

He was involved in several controversies and accused of perjury before Congress, although no charges were ever filed.[3] Gonzales was exonerated of all accusations by three inspector general probes.[4]

IOW, a witch hunt, a fishing expedition, furious dramatization with daily, hourly, stop-the-presses furrow-browed reporters talking fast and low into forests of cameras, and after all was said and done, after all the time and money and energy and real news opportunity costs had been sprayed all over a helpless citizenry, the terrible truth was finally revealed: “he politicized his office”.

This, of course, as we mouth-breathers, clueless twits, worth-nothings, and dark little minds with inner labyrinths all know, is tantamount to accusing someone who is in the other party of “being in the other party”.

Charging someone with “being in the other party” might sound a clue to hard-pressed taxpayers that his or her scarce resources are being willfully and rather savagely destroyed, so the charge has to be euphemized, and naturally with a word able to finesse the conclusion necessitated by the extensive evidence of the absent findings of fact.

Its interesting that the Negros on this Oversight committee have so little regard for the Mexicans who have and who will die from this lawlessness. Its like admitting the pawns are there to suffer for their bigger causes. Oh, so un-PC.

John Boehner is now part of a coverup.

    http://sipseystreetirregulars.blogspot.com/2012/02/sipsey-street-exclusive-meet-silent.html

“That John Boehner has now become the most useful tool to the White House outrages many gun rights activists and Tea Party members, who look upon this turn of events as just one more sell-out in a long line of sell-outs.
Asked by this reporter what Boehner would get from such a deal, called “logrolling” by the source, he said, “Whatever he wants most or fears most. Politicians do these deals all the time, but this one is unusual in its size and scope. . . and the fact that a whole lot of people are watching.”
Another source confirmed the foot of Boehner on the brake pedal of the Issa Committee investigation and said, “the only thing that will stop him is if somebody chucks him out of the car.”
