Lionel Chetwynd and I sit with Ted Johnson of Variety.com and discuss the role of Hollywood in elections. Is Hollywood delivering a consistent political message, and are people listening to it? While Hollywood stars are great at raising money, do they play a decisive rule on Election Day? Find out.

The entertainment industry, wherever it hails from overwhelming tilts to the left, aside from a small minority of conservatives. The packs they travel in march in lockstep, rendering conservatives to basically hide in the closet. Except for a few brave souls who have ‘come out’, most fear enormous industry backlash, if they voice their true conservative leanings.
Academics, lawyers, and most who work in the left stream media ape similar group-think tendencies that are exhibited by entertainers. The danger of the above does not lie in their individual messages, after all, few give a damn what an individual Hollywood type prattles on about. Besides, they make their living in fantasy land! However, it is the confluence of their constant hammering-they possess mega microphones-which is the danger, oftentimes many have no idea they are being brainwashed.
Similarly, academics hold sway over young minds for more hours than most, capable of brainwashing the youth, without them even knowing it too. The same can be said of the media, and their herd-like colleagues in the legal field. Many are socially conscious drama queens,as long as it doesn’t interfere with their out-sized lives of insatiable consumption.Leftist hypocrites.
Simply put, those who control the minds of the young, as well as the organs of public opinion, are those who eventually wield the power. As such, leftists have been boring within these institutions (and others)for decades. It is a hallmark of socialism/Marxism.
The above is clearly visible within Israel’s social fabric, particularly in Tel Aviv and its suburbs. We call them the branja’ set; self entitled, smug and totally bereft of national ethos. They (leftists in general) are terrified of being branded ‘provincial’. How quaint. They believe they are above it all, whatever ‘it’ is. While they comprise a very small minority of the general majority (Jewish) population, nevertheless, they wield an enormous amount of power. Leftist influences are deeply felt in the legal, media and academic arenas, having an absolutely pernicious effect on all matters, from the social to the political realm.
Many of my op-eds/commentaries touch upon this subject, as Israelis grapple to remove the boot of the left from their throats, regardless which party (even among the so called right) holds sway. It is a very complicated (political) calculus, but I have attempted to break it down into readable terms.
