High School Where Flag Flap Occurred Hides Racist Secret
Other Latinos “helped” the ignorant protest by calling in threats to other schools in the Bay Area named “Live Oak,” schools completely unaffiliated with the Morgan Hill school where this absurdity is unfolding. Threats of Latino gang violence by these “respect and unity”-loving groups have led students to stay home and have resulted in an increased police presence at Live Oak HS, where at least the law enforcement officers seem to have a grasp of rights and inclusiveness.
Predictably, some critics of this First Amendment and educational fiasco are calling for Assistant Principal Miguel Rodriguez to be fired for his role in creating this mess. I tend to agree with Dafydd Ab Hugh, who suggests that both the principal and assistant principal blew a chance to educate their students and should be held responsible for their support of another kind of bigotry:
The saddest part is that the vice principal and principal don’t even realize how it was they, not the five flag-wearers, who insulted and degraded the Mexican-American students yesterday. What could have been a teaching moment was instead warped by rampant political correctness into an incitement to racism and bigotry… against white students.

It could have been a teachable moment of tolerance, but because of the ineptitude of school officials, it turned into a display of bigotry that spun wildly out of control. This incident revealed more than just poor judgement. It showed a fundamental lack of respect from educators for the students and cultures of the community. It showed incompetence. Boden and Rodriguez would be doing the citizens of Morgan Hills a grave disservice if they continue to hold positions where they twist impressionable minds in their formative years. Luckily for the citizens of Morgan Hills, these administrators may have provided the school district with an excuse to help them seek “other employment opportunities.”
Mr. Boden and Mr. Rodriguez preside over a high school with various clubs and organizations. As administrators, they must sanction these activities. There is the Anime Club, the Asian Student Union, the Black Student Union, the Drama Guild, the Chess Club, MEChA, the Patriot Club, and a raft of other extracurricular activities from which student can chose to participate. Shockingly, one of these groups is a borderline hate group that proclaims racial supremacy. While it may come as a shock to some of our more “progressive” readers, the oppressors are not the Patriot Club, but the Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlán, or MEChA. Live Oak High’s Web site claims that the group has certain goals:
MECHA stands for Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlán (Chicano Student Movement of Aztlán). Aztlán was the homeland of the Mexicas (Mexicas is the root word of Chicano), also known as the people of the earth, who wandered from Aztlán to Tenochtitlan. Aztlán is believed to be located in the southern US and northern Mexico.
The group was [originally] formed to address issues in the Chicano movement of 1969 such as the need for better school conditions (resources, facilities), to learn Mexican studies, have more Mexican teachers, and higher expectations for Mexican students versus encouraging them to go to trade schools or for young Chicanas to stay at home.
And all of this is true — but it is not all of the truth, and there are clear warning signs for anyone paying the least bit of attention. MEChA’s militaristic logo is an eagle with a brutal obsidian-bladed Aztec war club called a Huitzauhqui in one claw and a lit stick of dynamite in the other. Is such violent symbolism an indicator that the group might need to be vetted a bit further? Reasonable people would think so.
Critics of MEChA claim that the organization is little more than a racial supremacist group seeking to carve out a country of their own, to be inhabited by their own race.

As Chicanas and Chicanos of Aztlán, we are a nationalist movement of Indigenous Gente that lay claim to the land that is ours by birthright. As a nationalist movement we seek to free our people from the exploitation of an oppressive society that occupies our land. MEChA is a paranoid, racist, nationalist group that seeks to claim northern Mexico and the southwestern United States as a nation called Aztlán. Principal Borden and Assistant Principal Rodriguez have allowed their school to be infiltrated by a seditious supremacist group.

There are “Children’s Day” celebrations in areas with a sufficient number of people of Asian descent (Oktoberfest in areas with people of German descent, St. Lucia celebrations in areas with people of Scandinavian descent, on and on). The difference is that these celebrations are organized by the people who want them, and they usually invite others in the community to come participate and learn something about their culture. The LaRaza contingent demands we (we are the government, and the government is the school) organize their celebration for them, then demands we stay out.

Will Aztlan have air conditioners, cars and stereos and if so, where will they get them? Give these young men a shout out for the courage they have shown, this is what is is about, being an American. We do not cotton up to the marxist threat coming from this admin. nor will we tolerate it coming from a bunch of wet behind the ears victim class. The administration from this school only served to inform the general public of the threat that reaks of treason on their part. There are thousands of MECHA chapters in all the public schools in the California. And everyone of them preaching a violent destruction of the USA and the establishment of “Atzlan” a new Hispanic country after the takeover of the Southwest USA.

I don’t think every chapter of MEChA is equally bent on destroying America. But the most radical chapters are REALLY radical. Many MEChA members have adopted an advocacy for “all indigenous peoples” to keep the focus off the racist aspects of some MEChA propaganda.
We had a MEChA chapter in our high school at a time when white students were being attacked periodically, and when local activists nearly destroyed the school system. Activist teachers tried very hard to limit the extent to which children in their charge spoke English. When I was substitute teaching, one high school student declared in a rather hostile manner that “all tyrants in history have been European”. He looked fairly European himself. In a third grade ESL class, there were murals on the walls which suggested that the Aztec heritage of the children should be the source of their self-esteem. Unfortunately, not all the kids were from Mexico.
It’s not that some are less radical, it’s that some are less vocal.
The creation of a “chicano” homeland from the southwest US and northern Mexico and the forced expulsion of all non-chicano’s is the official position of MECHA and hence it is the official position of all it’s chapters. Indeed, the creation of the homeland is the primary purpose of the group.
Last time I checked, which was several years ago, the organization of MEChA was very loose. Things may have changed since then. One point in favor of your position is that any chapter which wished to disassociate itself from the more radical elements of this organization could change their name to “Mexican-American Service Club” or something similar.
Nowadays around here, the adult activists seem to be a bigger problem than the kids (though the kids have problems not obviously connected to political activism). There were no American troops at the Battle of Puebla nor were there any in Mexico in 1862 for the simple reason that they were fighting in the Civil War. After the war nearly two million Union soldiers were sent to the South during Reconstruction and quite a few of those ended up on the border where Johnson and the Republicans demanded that Napoleon withdraw completely from the country. But as to it being a turning point it might be wise to remember that the new French dominated government lasted for another five years and even then held on for nearly a year after the French withdrew and its main support came from native troops. That’s like claiming Corregidor was a turning point in the Pacific because the Japanese eventually lost.

We, my wife and I, were in Ensenada, MX on Cinco de Mayo and were amused by the absence of any kind of celebration; no parades or marchers waving Mexican, no signs of indicating that it was a national holiday, and no anti-american protesters (it’s hard to protest against american tourists who provide a great deal of wealth for the street vendors).
Responses to a our “Happy Cinco de Mayo” were less than enthusiastic, maybe a few shoulder shruges. And, the worse of it was that at Hussong’s, the famous century old bar, there were no Cinco de Mayo specials.

In 1970 I went to hear Pete Seeger at the Greed Theater. He was appearing with a group called El Teatro Campesino (The Country Theater). El Teatro Campesino spoke half in Spanish and half in English during their “skits.”
Every other sentence in English was F*** the white man. At one point my wife (long since ex) who spoke Spanish turned to me and said that you think what they are saying in English is bad, but what they are saying in Spanish is much worse. In retrospect I think they must have been saying kill the F***ing white man.
At the very end Pete Seeger came back on stage to sing This Land Is Your Land with El Teatro Campesino and the audience. The young liberal Jewish man on my left commented to me, “Notice how Seeger keeps looking over his shoulder. He must be afraid they are going to knife him in the back.”

I’m 65 years old. My grandparents and the grandparents of many of my friends came here to become Americans because America was a better place than “the old country”. If they had a few favorite customs or foods, they kept them at home, in private. Outside the home they were Americans, and proud of it and they did not even think about exposing or forcing their old culture on anyone else, because it might offend people.

I trust you are not surprised by “the ineptitude of school officials”. The government schools have long since abandoned their charge to educate and have moved to indoctrinate. The teachers churned out by the colleges today are pumped full of PC and the holiness of “cultural diversity”. The last thing they know how to do is apply critical thinking to a situation. We are so concerned with teaching “tolerance” and not hurting anyone’s little feelings that we are graduation kids from high school that cannot read or do simple math, but feel really good about themselves! Ask any personnel manager what the typical high school graduate is capable of? I am putting the last of my six kids through college. The college she is attending requires that all freshman take a course on what used to be called “composition” because the colleges have learned that the average freshman cannot compose a coherent paragraph much less an essay. The do know that “cinco de Mayo” is a holiday.

BTW, the SCOTUS has held that even burning an American flag on the 4th is constitutionally protected free speech. Although it does offend most of us, we typically won’t shoot you for having done it. When I worked in France, there was once a fellow, a co-worker, who tried deliberately to anger me by calling me a Yankee! (The whole conversation was in French) When I didn’t take the bait, the guy politely inquired as to why I wasn’t fuming. I informed him that I considered it a compliment. Such a problem, you try to insult the American dogs and they just laugh. Tolerance can be fiendish.
Perhaps a company of soldiers or marines, in their field uniforms many of which have an American flag sown to the sleeve, should visit the school to show the diversity of the men and women in the unit (likely with more than a few Hispanics) and their allegiance to the flag of the United States of America.
This is California. Soldiers would never be permitted on campus.

Last Saturday we had a demonstration of American patriotism in downtown Morgan Hill. We had maybe a hundred people turnout to wave our American flags to passing cars and passersby.
Well over half the cars that came by tooted their horns, waved, or gave the thumbs up to our efforts. This was from people of all races – whites, Asians, and especially Hispanic! Only 1 in 200 responded negatively.
The local news media outlets were there although they didn’t get a warm reception, given their misleading and libelous “narrative.” One reporter from the local (and shrinking) newspaper literally RAN after the one black fellow who was hostile to the event. She just had to bring back some trash talk.
The next school board meeting will be Tuesday night. They haven’t issued a clear apology nor a reprimand to the administrators yet. We expect the house to be crowded and emotional.
On May 5 there is a far more significant event than Cinco de Mayo. May 5 is the day in 1945 that Germany offered a cease fire at the end of World War II. Two days latter Germany offered its uncondtional surrender.
This marked the end of a long effort by the U.S. and other nations to secure liberty and free the world of tyrany. Only the ignorant, the uneducated, would feel disrespected at a display of the U.S. flag on May 5.
And yet many Mexicans refuse to learn English and continue to speak SPANISH as if it was their native, not conquered language. Had America respected their territory as the Spanish did they’d already be speaking english as a national language.
Miguel Rodriguez???? What’s in a name? How about Barack HUSSEIN Obama? Time and again we see people who signal to us in many ways what they are and yet…we think that the obvious should be ignored because that would be too simple and thus we would be simple minded. Not so. Mr. Rodriguez obviously has been using his position of POWER to subsume our national interest and safety by stirring up an insurrection. Were are the MSM cries of…sedition? One of the biggest complaints from the left is about “racial” profiling. Never mind that the white race is America is profiled all the time under the fraudulent banner of AFFIRMATIVE ACTION. Mr. Rodriguez probably counted on the dumb gringo to overlook the obvious because of the other sacraments of the left: TOLERANCE and fear if being labeled a BIGOT. That a man with an Hispanic surname is stirring the pot and coming out on the side of his fellow ethnics is no surprise. What doesn’t surprises either is that, in this day and age, he can get away with it, no one can express the obvious, and he can push ethnic chauvinism and supremacy with zero repercussions while his VICTIMS have to apologize. Lastly, did the ethnic supremacist realize that by saying take off your American flag, you might incite a riot – THAT HE IS REALLY SAYING the Mexicans who opposed this are PRONE TO VIOLENCE? A lot of people in Arizona may be the victims of that violence but they are required to commit suicide in the pursuit of tolerance and multiculturalism – two key tools in the ongoing Marxist cultural revolution that is destroying America.
The biggest problem in all of this is the Mainstream Media. If they were doing their job we would not have gotten this far along the path to destruction. They have lied by omission, and they have simply lied, to keep all of what is happening in our great land a secret until it is too late to correct.

I’m not talking about isolated Jewish voices over the years I mean the broad based full throated complaints that I’m seeing now. I live in Arizona and we have celebrated Cinco de Mayo here for more than 25 years. Mostly, we see it as an excuse to go to a Mexican restaurant, drink beer and have some chips and salsa. Cinco de Mayo as it is celebrated here is about as Mexican as Taco Bell, the pro-illegal immigration and “reconquista” whackos have only hijacked it recently.
Exactly. Just as Oktoberfest and St. Patricks are both drinking and eating fests, Cinco de Mayo is another commercial affair-helps business and it’s a welcome bit of fun.
These events are meant to be all-inclusive(respect really has nada to do with it)and fun is mostly the objective.
Unfortunately, the Hispanic kids at this school have been given poor instruction and entirely missed the spirit in which these sort of holidays are celebrated.
Too bad, they probably soured their own community for the short-term at least.

Complete naivete. Cinco de Mayo has nothing to do with Mexico. Its use is as apolitical weapon to seize power. And its working.
Cinco de Mayo celebrations were and are first and foremost celebrations of Capitalism and consumerism. I was around in the 1980s when Cinco de Mayo bar parties started and remember them well …sorta. I worked many years with Mexicans, both legal and illegal, and none but those who’d been in the US since the 80s knew what the celebration was all about and few of any national group knew about the Battle of Puebla, not even me until I looked it up. Imagine the chagrin and anger of those Mexican nationalists of Aztlan and Mecha when the Capitalist origins were explained to them. At times, I actually felt in danger from the reluctant students.
Since the Spanish conquered Mexico and subsequently killed and oppressed the original Indian inhabitants, why do the decendents of the Spanish conquerers (Mexicans, Chicanos or whatever) have any more claim to California and other areas in the southwest than their current inhabitants or the decendents of the original inhabitants (the Indians)?
Perhaps the pure Indian decendents of the original inhabitants of Mexico should demand that “The ultimate goal is the liberation of Mexico. Once the leadership of Mexico is cleansed of those with Spanish blood, ethnic cleansing would commence: Non-Indians would have to be expelled — opposition groups would be quashed because you have to keep power.”
What very few people fail to realize is that the Mexicans who are coming to the US and encouraged by the Mexican government, are native-American. Look at photos of people in the Mexican goverment; they don’t look like immigrants here. They are in effect getting rid of what they look at as unwanteds.
As I sat here it occurred to me that the original post and all 38 ‘replies’ were one big game of “ain’t it awful.” Oh, my goodness, “Ain’t it awful.”

The best response is to thank them for their comment and go on about your organizational business and by that I mean organizing and voting; screw marching around with signs. If you can’t avoid a response the next best response is to ask them to define their terms, “What do you mean by fascist or racist?” First of all you can look in a lot of books and a myriad of places before you will find a comprehensive definition for “fascist” but what will happen you will find is that they will pause because they don’t have any more definition for their attacks except that you are someone who disagrees with them. Poor babies!!!
No democracy can survive with citizens who lack integrity and courage. The greatest country in the world was handed to us, free. We’ve let a lot slip through our fingers. Admit it, it happened on our watch. C’mon, it’ll be a great game getting it back.

It’s time for civil disobedience.
There are a few things that anyone can notice about American so-called “liberal activists”. They often proclaim their moral and intellectual superiority over the middle-class, dismiss any one disagreeing with them as stupid and racist, while demand everyone to notice their non-conformism and they delight in “getting in your face” – whether through insulting “art” or “civil disobedience”. It’s fair to notice that liberals hate nothing more than their own weapons are turned against them.
Among the many tools that absolutely infuriate the left is, of course, civil disobedience used against them. If the Tea Party activists can show themselves as the working men fighting the oppressive establishment, while painting the left-wing activists as the establishment storm troopers slash mercenaries – you will most likely provoke the left to become hysterical if not outright violent. And if we can show ourselves as people struggling for basic human rights – well, I believe the left will implode from the impotent rage.
So, lets take a few real life examples and check how we can use the Alinsky’s tools to our advantage. In the last week, American people were treated to a couple of rather nasty cases of left-wing racism and intolerance. The first example concerns a left-wing school principal in Michigan who organized a school space science tour exclusively for black kids, while kids of all other races were forbidden to participate. When the privileged kids returned from the segregated tour, they were booed by all other kids. The school principal who was responsible for the segregation screamed at the kids who dared to question his racist policies. The school officials stood behind him and the principal is unapologetic.
I believe this is a very good teaching moment both for the privileged kids who were taken to the tour, and for the kids who were forbidden from the tour due to their race. The kids that went to the tour made a decision to support the oppressive racist power structure. Everyone should ask himself – if I were a white man in the South during the segregation time – would I have chosen to sit with the black people in the back of the bus, or would I have used my white privilege? Would I have patronised the restaurants that did not serve the black people? These are basic moral questions that each kid has to ask himself.
And these questions should not be directed only to white people – but to people of all races. Would you choose to profit from racism? The kids that went to the segregated tour made their choice, and they must be fully explained what this choice means to them. For one, all other kids should demonstrate their outrage by the behaviour of their classmates, and this could mean boycotts and other non-violent means of civil protest. Every kid that chose to go to a segregated tour should apologize to his classmates for his betrayal of decency.
On the other side, the real culprit of racism is the school’s principal. The goal of the community must be his immediate dismissal. It’s unlikely that the establishment powers will allow this happen without a fight, which means the parents of all affected kids as well as civil rights activists must stage a peaceful take over of the school, particularly of the Principal’s office. The non-negotiable demand must be immediate firing of the principal, and tolerance training for all teachers. This action must be taken with massive publicity – I believe it is possible to invite the journalists from around the nation – and I would be very surprised if Fox News would not send their TV crews to broadcast to the entire country what is happening in one little school, where people said enough to racism.
The second event that happened this week is no less bizarre. According to pajamasmedia, “Five students at a California high school were forced to leave school and then face disciplinary action yesterday for the crime of wearing clothing printed with American flag designs.” The school Vice- Principal who made the decision to punish kids who wore American flag to American school funded by American taxpayers, claims that American flag was hateful. Pajamasmedia continues:
“They said we could wear it on any other day, but today is sensitive to Mexican Americans because it’s supposed to be their holiday so we were not allowed to wear it today,” Daniel Galli said. The boys said the administrators called their t-shirts “incendiary” that would lead to fights on campus. “They said if we tried to go back to class with our shirts not taken off, they said it was defiance and we would get suspended,” Dominic Maciel, Galli’s friend, said.
The response of school officials to threats of violence from the school anti-American bigots of Mexican origin was swift – they forbade the wearing of American flag. Some of the haters did not hesitate to go on record. “I think they should apologize cause it is a Mexican Heritage Day,” Annicia Nunez, a Live Oak High student, said. “We don’t deserve to be get disrespected like that. We wouldn’t do that on Fourth of July.”
As the reader can see, the school is not only permissive of anti-American racist attitude of some students – they even nurture and protect it. It’s very unlikely that the school’s failure to combat racism is accidental. At the very least, the school’s principal, vice-principal and all responsible figures must be immediately fired. The kids who exposed themselves as racists must be required to take tolerance classes, which should include American history, American Constitution and the like. The current leadership will not do what is necessary without being forced by the local progressive community and activists. Again, as in the case with segregated space tour – parents, community leaders and the civil rights activists must occupy the school (particularly the Principal’s office) and demand the immediate resignation of all responsible for this travesty. It is also necessary to bring in the mass media, and to get some support from the rank-n-file local police. In both cases, the Tea Party activists and the local Republican Party must provide all necessary aid in order to organize the acts of civil disobedience against the education establishment.
In case someone is wondering how serious I am about these proposals – I want to share a little bit of my personal story. Both my grandfathers and my grandmother were sent to Stalin’s forced labor camps in the USSR. Both of my parents experienced racism and anti-semitism in the USSR due to the ethnicity – they are both half-Jewish – this involved discrimination for school admission, jobs, etc. I was born, raised and educated in Russia, so the story of racism in my native country is quite personal for me. After I had come to the USA, I was dumbfounded that instead of freedom and equal rights I saw exactly same attitude – except this time I and my children are discriminated not because of their Jewish heritage, but because of their skin color. In other words, I have absolutely no guilt feeling about the black history in America – and I have all the outrage and anger of an innocent man who is been discriminated against solely due to his skin color. Any race monger from the DNC will get zero concessions from me on the subject of race and “affirmative action”. So, if any liberal comes to my website and tries to guilt me – I can say only one thing – he will get more cooperation from a rock than he will ever get from me.

if hispanics at a US school have problems with an American Flag, well, then they can go back to their country of choice ASAP. It is not the US.
I don’t live in CA, but even in WA we have too many hispanics with a very similar attitude – I’m offended my hard earned tax dollars are paying to educate them when their loyality is to a foreign country.
Why were the students cutting classes the next day not treated as truants? From what I have read these bozo administrators met with them but took no action penalizing their not attending classes. Isn’t there a problem with school dropouts which is especially a problem in the Latino community? Yet here we have administrators who are sending the message that it’s ok not to attend school if you are unhappy about something.
Yeah, these two should be cashiered, but face it. The whole education system in the US needs a complete overhaul, top to bottom. You have a fake Indian like Ward Churchill that it takes years to get rid of and a terrorist like Ayers treated like an esteemed faculty at one of our leading academic institutions. These two high school administrators are just the tip of the iceberg.
Next May 5th, I suggest those offended by the American flag take to the streets. In Tehran.
I remember the first time I saw a tee shirt that said “It’s a black thang …. you wouldn’t understand.” I (a white person) was offended — I saw the message as deliberately provocative (intended to provoke in me a reaction exactly like the reaction I had).
I believe unequivocally that provocative statements are protected by the first amendment.
But should those statements be allowed in school? I think I would support a principal who told students they could not wear the “black thang” tee shirt. I think I would support a principal who told students they could not wear a provocative tee shirt that said something like “high sat scores …. it’s a white thang (you wouldn’t understand).”
I’ve listened (in radio interviews) to these students who were sent home for wearing a US flag. None of the interviewers asked them: “Were you intentionally provocative?” It seems to me that they were.
So you can legitimately defend them to me by claiming “they were not intentionally provocative.” (I don’t believe this; but we can agree to disagree.) Or you can legitimately defend them (to me) by claiming “people who use the US flag to be provocative are ok; but those who use the (for example) ‘black thang’ are not ok.” But if you really intend to use this second argument, please do so explicitly. (I doubt if you can convince me making this argument. But I want you to be intellectually honest if this is your point of view.)
American flag is provocative and disrespectful towards fascists, racists, nazists, commies. And it’s a good thing, right?
The First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America doesn’t need a defense. It is self evident. Ahhh… there’s nothing more to say after that is there?

This is America..the Stars and Stripes is our flag. A flag that is not a white, black, or brown “thang”…it is an American thing!!! When the Mexicans/any immigrant fly their flag, here in America, over the American flag, they are provocative and ignorant as hell. If I remember my Army flag briefing correctly, no flag in the United States may be legally flown at the same or higher level respecting the American Flag. There are a couple of exceptions: the UN building in New York, foreign embassies, etc. But, in principle, if somebody is flying their flag above our colors you can call the cops.

Was told many a year ago by a man (am I “allowed” to use that word?) working on his doctorate that one of the goals in the Soviet Union was “Criticism, self Criticism.” Beginning early in school the child sitting in the desk at the head of the row would report all school infractions of anyone in that row. The object was to finally get the individual kids to report themselves (self criticism) and that way the “state” and its policing functions would move into the person’s head and become part of their decision making mechanism.

You know folks I’ve never been afraid for my country before but I am now.
My great-grandparents came to America from Prussia (now Poland). They survived here near the poverty level by working hard, learning to speak enough English to get by. Their descendants are now well-off–no need to say how much we owe this country. We know it. What needs to be remembered was the attitude those immigrants had: they never looked back, they always looked forward with gratitude and made the most of what they’d been given by this country. They knew the Old World was a hellhole and that’s why they left it. They endured anti-German sentiment through two World Wars here in America and gave their 100% as American patriots.
We should expect no less from our modern-day immigrants.
The assimilation process broke in this country somewhere along the broken borders (from our too-lax generosity and our too-greedy willingness to exploit cheap labor and “undocumented” voters) and with the advent of our unenforced immigration laws. If we don’t fix this fast, the fault lies with us. We are dishonoring all legal immigrants including the memories of those who came here with gratitude in their hearts and loyalty for America and her gifts. Children nowadays who don’t understand this or the ramifications of free markets and Communism/socialism need to be taught; educators who won’t teach this need to be fired; illegals and those who enable or employ them need to be prosecuted, and laws need to be enforced. Each of us has work to do if this is going to get fixed.
Your example refutes the point that you are trying to make.
Your great-grandparents didn’t apply to immigrate, they just came, as did millions of others at the same time.
You point out that your great-grandparents suffered from great poverty (because they earned low wages) yet you declare that modern Americans are greedy because we let in immigrants who work for low wages. Wages much better than your great-grandparents probably received.
Four of those boys, who wore shirts with the American flag, were of Latin descent: Carvalho (Portuguese for “oak tree”), Galli (Italian), Dariano (Italian), Maciel (Portuguese). Only one of them was of anglo-saxon descent (Howard). It bothers me a lot that Mexicans have usurped the word “latino” for themselves. “Latino” is anyone of Latin (Roman) descent, which include Italians, Portuguese, Spanish, French and Romanians.
Allow me to enlighten all of you and put this issue to it’s proper resting place.

We have our own holidays and issues elsewhere in the world, but letting the Chicano racists take over in the Southwest is about as bright as our French “friends” letting the Muslims take over some Parisian suburbs or the Brits letting the hard line Muslims dominate what used to be nice places like Bradford…years ago it was at least respectable; now it is very reminiscent of racist Southern US villages in the last century.

Does anyone slse find it ironic that Atzlan protests the Aztecs plight in the language of their real conqurors, the Spanish conquistadores? I s there an identity conflic here? Maybe not, the Aztecs didn’t have a written language and lived in the Stone Age when the spanish conquered them. And tht was 300 years before Meixcan independence and 350 years before America took over the unpopulated lands of the Southwest. It is very obvious that their grasp of history is as rudimentary as their current ideology. It is a shame that they get any publicity at all.
The Aztecs had a written language.
They would have beaten Cortez were it not of European disease.
They had a primitive Witten language composed of hieroglyphics and symbols.
The Spanish didn’t invent disease; the immune system of the Aztecs wasn’t adapted to foreign diseases.
The technology, tactics and superior size and strength would have easily ended the Aztecs; the Mayan empire had already reached its zenith. The Aztecs made so many enemies of local Mezzo-American Indian tribes that the Spanish had plenty of allies willing to help eradicate the Aztecs.

As an American of Puerto Rican heritage, I am a proud American and would like to reach out to all Latinos to wake up and stop the spread of stupidity and ignorance. If you are illegal, you do not belong here, period, especially those committing crime and enjoying the liberal mentality of our American laws. Arizona did the right thing in passing the immigration law, as there are too many criminals coming into the country and harming American citizens, black, white and hispanics. We need to be AMERICAN first and educate our young people to respect the laws of the land. By the way, Cinco de Mayo is a capitalist and commercialize project designed to market and promote the sell of beer, etc. Not even Mejico gives any importance to this celebration. If we LATINOS don’t wake up and smell the coffee, we are going to turn this great country into a third world country. As an emerging and dominent American population, we need to be more responsible and accountable as American citizens.

If you dig deep there is no pure white americans because we have been mixed from the aztects or from black or brown.when we fight against another race its because we dont know who we realy are and what we stand for. This is a stupid article, the boys clearly wore the t shirts for the wrong reasons. Their parents should be thrown in jail for wasting the school districts money in such a bad economy. Cause they will probably go to court and they will win. Whatev i know some of these punk kids and know they are racist because in Morgan Hill that’s the way to be. Same kids wear confederate flags and cause drama on every other school day. If anything they brought disgrace to the American Flag and should be kicked out of America!!! THIS MORGAN HILL RESIDENT BOOOS THEM and THEIR PARENTS!!!
Principals should go through training to better deal with these situations so the school district doesn’t get sued!
