Gunwalker: Issa Reveals Drug Enforcement Administration Involvement
It was a brutal weekend for the Obama administration: Gunwalker continued unraveling at a faster pace, with new developments suggesting that Attorney General Eric Holder may not be the only Obama appointee destined for a political fall and possible criminal charges.
In an interview with Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday, House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa revealed for the first time that the Drug Enforcement Administration was far more involved in running the operation than the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives:
It wasn’t an ATF operation. They were part of that. It was a joint operation in which DEA knew more than ATF.
This directly conflicts with prior statements by DEA Administrator Michele Leonhart — she claimed that the DEA only played a supporting role and that her DEA agents in El Paso and Phoenix were only “indirectly involved in the ATF operation through DEA-associated investigative activity.” She further absolved her agency by claiming that “DEA personnel had no decision-making role in ATF operations” associated with Fast and Furious.
The DEA’s higher-profile role will not absolve ATF personnel for their roles in carrying out the plot politically, but it could potentially make a difference in future criminal proceedings if ATF agents on the front lines of the operation thought they were participating in a legitimate law enforcement operation.
Unfortunately for the Department of Justice, the higher level of collusion between different federal law enforcement agencies that report to the attorney general make it even more unlikely that Eric Holder and other senior DOJ personnel were unaware of the real goal of the operation.
Issa’s committee is in the process of preparing subpoenas for members of the Obama administration to try to find out who authorized the operation, and to ask why they have not been forthcoming if they believed the operations to be legal:
Why are they denying knowing about something that they were briefed on? … Exactly when, the American people want to know, how did it happen?
Issa also revealed for the first time the magnitude of the largest individual gunwalking incidents, noting that one effort involved the shipment of 700 guns to the Sinaloa cartel.
Issa continued:
This is about Justice Department knowing, and this is where the American people have a right to know more, knowing that these guns were deliberately intended to end up in the hands of the drug cartels without any kind of traceability, except if you find a gun in the scene of the crime. That is the reason that it is felony and stupid — and I use the word “felony” deliberately — program.
A massive stockpile containing dozens of Operation Fast and Furious weapons was recovered in Mexico at an arsenal hidden in the Ciudad Juarez home of Sinaloa cartel enforcer Jose Antonio Torres Marrufo. The raid occurred on April 30; the revelation that 40 of the guns were from the gunwalking plot constitutes breaking news — and confirmation that the plot worked as designed.
At this point, what Republicans must do with this story is use it to help choose a presidential candidate. Which in the field will prosecute come 2013? I think there are a few in the field who would high-mindedly issue pardons and move on “for the sake of the nation” — but we’ve got to find out.

Who has the will to prosecute for the sake of the nation ? If not willing then that candidate is part of the problem and more of the same.
Have I missed something? Or are none of the GOP candidates talking about this yet? If not, why not? Will it become an issue in 2012? They may not have any choice if events continue on the current trajectory. I think Issa has been smart though by not running around jumping to the conclusion, which is looking increasingly dire for this administration. If he had jumped the gun, there would have been brief coverage/denials, which would have innoculated these crooks from there on out. Now, the slow build-up is about to explode…and will be far more devastating. It is a mystery to me though why none of the candidates are talking about it.

Let’s look a little more closely at the stealth jihad in which all these appointed czars of Obama’s are engaged while we supposedly we have to sit by idly and pretend they’re doing something quite innocent. “Under the radar” are Obama’s own words; if he can attempt things like Gunwalker then he’s doing far more I reckon.
It’s disturbing how this Administration insists on creating its own reality. Such behavior is the hallmark of statist regimes, and it is becoming increasingly obvious to more and more people who, like me, still are naive enough to look at the most recent scheme and think “What the hell? This can’t happen in the US.” Well, yes it can.
We have an Administration who wants to make our country over in their own image. It’s disturbing enough to think that they believe they have these divine powers, but even more disquieting to realize they think that no one will oppose them- not even the laws of physics (in the case of “green jobs” and the Solyndra debacle). That is arrogance of the highest order.

It takes a special kind of arrogance to intentionally dismantle this great nation. History shows that it also takes a lot of willing dupes, seeking a “leader” who will “fix everything”.
This band of willing dupes, as epitomized by the “occupy” people, is the direct result of mismanaging the education system. Which, was bound to happen. When I was in school, rugged individuality was still praised as was independent thought and nature.
But now it seems that people, more than ever, prefer to find a figurehead (not a leader, mind you. There’s a huge difference) who is shiny and well-spoken and can talk a good game as their champion. We have Captain Zero who was proclaimed as all of that and a bag of chips and here we are.
The left has always lacked in the realization that great people become great because they do great things and earn respect from those around them for their accomplishments.
Obama is the epitome of “cart-before-the-horse” thinking on the left where he’s done nothing, talks a lot, can wear a suit and use a teleprompter but beyond that he’s patently unqualified. By his own admission a “blank slate” and he said it like it was a good thing.
Nope, leaders become leaders because they have fought the hard fight, won and lost, learned from their mistakes and are positive goal-oriented. They are driven, not by malice but by results. Often, they know their own limitations and thus, defer to the experience of others who can help, knowing they will be responsible for any failures that occur.
We don’t have leadership in the white house. We have arrogant petulance.
Can you really think of a better way to control a country than to start by skruin’ up the educational system? I read, within the past week, of teachers quiting after many years teaching because the educational system consists of about 150 tests that are mandatory to administer per year. Just when do you have time to crack open books and get an education? Most kids will be kids and not read assignments because they know they won’t be tested on them. And there isn’t time to assign written work and check it out due to preparing for testing. I began noticing the changes when my kids went thru school. Not what I was taught, and I WAS taught!!

Some of us would be happy to remain apolitical so long as whomever was in office used logic, reason and at least an approximation of “actual reality” in crafting their governance. However, everything this regime does appears calculated to promote big government and anti-American ideologies. So I, like others, are now being enlisted to put down our tools, plows, pens, etc and (figuratively) take up arms in the tea party revolution.
Creating their own reality is absolutely necessary for a liberal to even exist. They create a reality based on every failed ideology in history and convince themselves that they are now the elite leaders who have a sacred right to tell the rest of us how to live our lives. They then protect their reality by surrounding themselves in a protective ideological bubble that they reinforce regularly to prevent any contrasting thought. Just look at the debacle of higher education and you will see this aptly demonstrated.
I think it is gonna take a good, long while, BUT eventually we’ll see some indictments handed down of the leadership of a few depts.

The worst thing that can happen is for Obama to be reelected and have the opportunity to name another Supreme Court Justice, especially if one of the more conservative members retires or dies. It would be an opportunity for liberal activism to make permanent changes to constitutional law. As it is, the premise of the constitutionality of the “commerce clause” covering the Obamacare mandate will be catastrophic if upheld, as it will give Congress unlimited power. Something tells me the two most recent “hires” will come down on the side which finds the premise overreaching.
With DEA and DOJ heavily involved in this, are you telling me that Janet Napolitano at Homeland Security wasn’t knee deep in this as well? Come on, she would have had to have known what was going on considering the fact that this operation had a direct effect on weapons going out of this country into neighboring Mexico. For her not to have known would have meant that she was either a fool, incompetent, or lying. And if she DID know about it, she had a responsibility to go public with it to stop it. If Janet Napolitano continues to claim that she didn’t know anything about this, especially since all operations like this should be going through her office, then how do we know what she actually DOES know about what our government is doing? I think Napolitano, like Holder, is going to need a good lawyer soon.
Liberty-Dennis Burke, the District atty who REFUSED to listen to ANY of the ATF agents who were complaining about Gunwalker , just happens to be Janet Incompetanos former chief legislative assistant when she was governor of Arizona. Burke was appointed to the US Attys office in 2009 at the same time Incompetano was appt to head Homeland Insecurity. Being from Az, Ive ran across Burke several times-trust me, hes another Eric Holder.

RE: Napolitano. The entire Customs and Immigration apparatus belongs to Homeland Security. Her officers were killed in the line of duty by this DOJ run operation. Since DOJ had to insure the unhindered export of the weapons there is no way Customs could not have been involved. How does it feel to know that your actions resulted in the deaths of some of your officers?
Also, there must have been several meetings at the Deputy Secretary level [called "Deputies" meetings] to vet and approve the operation. That would have involved, for sure, State, Justice, Homeland Security, Treasury, and Defense. Find the memos for those meetings and they will lay out the names, times, and places.

I talk to my kids about it and they ask why their teachers dont bring this up when talking about current events. How do you tell your kids that the schools they go to dont teach them half of what they need to know

if obama is defeated in his re-election bid (as i devoutly hope he will be!) watch for him to issue a blanket pardon to all involved in this mess as his last official act in office, as well as an attempt to confer continuing “legal” status on his horde of appointed commissars, the first act of an incoming president should be to demand their resignations be on his desk, forthwith, by the end of his first day in office, and they be escorted out of any office they occupy by u.s. marshals, and not be allowed to take any records, paper or electronic, with them on their way out the door.
Indictments against Administration political appointees are finally starting to look more likely, at least in the long run, so Obama may well pardon his cronies just before he himself resigns so that President Biden can pardon him.
But the pardons won’t prevent an intrepid District Attorney from prosecuting them for state crimes such as homicide, conspiracy to commit homicide, etc.

I have to think that these operations had to have violated some TX and AZ laws and last I looked both had Republican governors. Now I have ZERO expectation that anything will come of this criminally at the federal level so long as Comrade Obama remains in power and if he loses, they’ll destroy all the records and he’ll pardon all the players. Might be fun to test the validity of a pardon issued by a co-conspirator in a crime, but I ain’t seein’ no Republican with those kind of cohones.

Mexican law forbids the death penalty but even 10 yrs in their prisons would make them see the error of their ways. As I have said before, the plausible deniability defense of anyone in the administration should only work when the defendant, be it Holder, Napolitano, Clinton, or Obama actively and forcefully cooperate, expose, prosecute the real perps. The current dissembling by them all defuses the plausible deniability defense. They can also jeopardize their defenses by coming on board too late in the investigative process. I thin the time for that has already passed.
When dissembling, stonewalling, lying and covering are the MO of the administration they become the sole targets of the prosecution by virtue of the chain of command and the Truman doctrine: the buck stops here. If no one is positively shown, by evidence, to be responsible then the leaders are by an implication that if the boss doesn’t fire you for bad behavior he must have either endorse or promoted the behavior.
Let there be no Nuremberg defense or plausible deniability defense.

And it is a wonderful apx.30 minute clip of the launch of(Gunrunner)and how all these rascals are to receive boat loads of money from the Stimulus Program to expand their agencies. The DoJ says it is just politics. However there are hard facts, under sworn testimony before Congress: murdered American peace officers, and murdered Mexican civilians. Reply to #4: The “T” word is not too strong a word to apply to the government officials involved in this atrocity. The first and foremost duty government officeholders have is to protect and defend the Constitution, in all of their actions. Here we have officials in the highest offices of the government, abandoning their oath of office, and in fact, actively working to subvert the number one rule of law, the Constitution.
Their duty to the public and the country, required them to refuse such illegal actions, and ethics required them to make those actions known to the public, even if it meant that they had to resign their jobs to do so. What does it say about the heads of the involved agencies, that they were not willing to do so.
Felonies have been committed, and people have died. No office holder who approved and carried out F&F should be spared their day of reckoning. There should be no leniency and no quarter. That they hold the highest offices in government, should not be a reason to overlook their transgreassions. If anything, they should be held to the highest standards, because, they hold such high offices. And, if this goes all the way to the President, he should be so held accountable.
That this administration provided arms to the cartels, with complete disregard for the potential lose of life, illustrates that they are capable of anything. What other actions has the Obama administration taken that are also “under the radar”, to use the President’s own words.

I am a firm believer that this whole scheme was set up to support the “90% lie” of US guns supplying the Mexican drug trade. The Obama admin actually came out BEFORE this story broke and started using the F&F gun running as proof to counter the 90% lie. This whole investigation should employ the Nixon hearings theme of “What did he know and when did he know it?” and it should be applied to everyone from Obama on down to the bottom agent.
Coincidence or Conspiracy ? March 2009, The US State Dept goes on record with HRC stating with certainty and authority that 90% of the guns being used to kill Mexican Citizens are being supplied by US Gun dealers. Where did she get these numbers ? Certainly she didn’t wake up one morning and say ” wow what a dream Holy S… 90% of all the guns etc ” Lets remember that the White House was very unhappy and for all purposes reprimanded her. Yet just a few weeks later as we now know Operation Fast and Furious swings into high gear. Was HRC rebuked for playing fast and loose with numbers and making stuff up ? Or more likely was she in hot water for letting the cat out of the bag as to the administrations plan to push for a new assault weapons ” ban . there is more and more information that now indicates that State knew about this absurd scheme and instead of stopping it went along with it.
I wouldnt be surprised at all if the entire F/F scam was thought up by Hillary. Dont forget, Holder was a Clintonite, not part of the Obama crowd.

President Millstone may very well issue pardons as he is swept out the door, to protect his cronies from Federal prosecution re Fast & Furious, but he has no way to protect them from criminal indictments in Mexico, and requests for extradition as per bi-lateral treaties signed by the United States and Mexico.
It is only a matter of time before one of these High Level Weasels begins to hear the noise from the crowd with pitchforks, and taking the example from Dear Leader, throws Obama under the bus.

The “90%” lie and video of Mexicans being slaughtered in the streets was touted by MSM until January of this year when Mike Vanderboegh and David Codrea shined the lights onto the death of Brian Terry and illuminated this planned subversion of our Constitution. Then the MSM greatly reduced its reporting on “gun violence” and reduced the “90% of all guns in Mexico…” down to 80% then to 70%, which is still a lie.
I am firmly convinced that the plan all along was to create a manufactured ‘crisis’ and was to be the subversion of the Second Amendment and thereby the Liberty Teeth of U.S. Constitution. After all, the focused agenda of the NWO through the U.N. is global governance without that pesky Bill of Rights hanging around. And if the guns are gone from the citizens hands, how easy would that be?

With respect to potential pardons, both the states, as well as the International Court of Justice (“ICJ”–The Hague, Netherlands), have the ability to prosecute these criminals. In the case of the ICJ, the U.S. accepts the court’s jurisdiction only on a case-by-case basis. I suspect, however, that with a Republican President, and/or a Republican majority in Congress, chances would be excellent that this avenue would be pursued and it’s determination imposed upon those pardoned. Also, Federal laws and judiciary, international treaties excepted, do not extend beyond the nation’s borders which leaves, of course, the possibility that Mexico could likewise indict, try and convict these low life, treasonous bastards additionally. Unfortunately, Mexico abolished the death penalty in 2005.

The 90% Lie… Can We Do It? Yes We Can! Accountability would be great here but I’m not holding my breath. The sheeple are far too distracted by whether Mormanism is a cult or not to consider something this important to be a matter of debate, discussion, or prosecution.
The Joy of Creeping Corruption
When the late economist-philosopher Friedrich Hayek coined the term “creeping socialism” in The Road to Serfdom, he couldn’t have envisioned the great socialist leap forward this America has witnessed under President Barack Hussein Obama. To complement the soaring socialism, Obama and his administration are now proving they are as guilty of creeping corruption as they are of perpetrating socialistic schemes.
It may all be a good thing.
In 2008, Obama was painted by his mainstream media as Mr. Clean, free of political contamination perhaps in part because he was so inexperienced in politics, and in everything else except community organizing. Perhaps, too, that cleanliness feature was on the mind of then-Senator Joe Biden when he described his future boss as “bright and clean.”
For the most part, the president somehow eluded significant scandal for two years but in the third year of his reign the dirt has hit the executive fan big time.
To be sure, there were relatively minor dings in Obama’s armor during his first two years. However, the out-of-control EPA and TSA, the WikiLeaks leaks, the black racism demonstrated at Eric Holder’s Justice Department, etc. and Obama’s scandalous mishandling of the economy weren’t comparable in gravity to the overt instances of corruption playing out now in both the White House and DoJ.
First came the “Fast and Furious” fiasco, the botched gun-running sting which resulted in the ATF furnishing some 1500 weapons to Mexican cartels which were then used to kill a U.S. border patrol agent and in countless crimes south of the border rather than achieving the planned aim of arresting Mexican criminals.
Close on the heels of Operation Fast and Furious came the Solyndra and LightSquared messes, the administration’s favoritism toward so-called “green” companies. Playing favorites is a time-honored if sleazy feature of politics but when the administration wasted hundreds of millions of dollars of scarce taxpayer money and the good buddies repaid that largesse by generously funneling millions back to Obama’s campaign war chest, favoritism entered the realm of impeachable corruption.
If anything, the corruptive nature of the LightSquared seamy involvement with the presidency actually eclipsed the Solyndra boondoggle.
What may turn out to be the ultimate irony in the deceit, misrepresentations, and outright lies of Eric Holder and Barack Obama relating to the administration’s growing record of corruption is the fact that most of it was avoidable had the president not adopted the Nixonian approach to being caught: deny, deny, and deny again. . .
