Gunwalker Explodes into the Heartland
Operation Fast and Furious (and the suspected operations in Texas and Florida) was reprehensible and more than likely calculated to raise the level of violence in Mexico, sacrificing the lives of law enforcement officers, soldiers, and civilians in order to pursue a policy goal. It wasn’t until an American agent died that whistleblowers finally arose and cried out. It was as if Mexican lives meant less than American lives … and in this sick political calculus, maybe that was exactly the mindset.
But if Gangwalker is what it appears to be, then we are staring down a president, attorney general, secretary of Homeland Security, and key members of the Department of Justice and Department of Homeland Security gone entirely rogue.
If Gangwalker and Gunwalker are two sides of the same insidious coin, we’re looking at the very definition of “high crimes and misdemeanors.”
We’re looking at impeachment for the most serious of charges, and possible criminal prosecutions for a widespread conspiracy to commit murder that walks right up to the line of the legal definition of treason:
Whoever, owing allegiance to the United States, levies war against them or adheres to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort within the United States or elsewhere, is guilty of treason and shall suffer death, or shall be imprisoned not less than five years and fined under this title but not less than $10,000; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States.
Providing thousands of weapons to criminal cartels — our enemies — would seem to constitute “giving them aid.”
It would be stunning to have high-ranking elected officials and political appointees of our republic impeached, put on trial for a criminal conspiracy, or tried for treason, but there is little other recourse.
The Holder Justice Department is retaliating against whisteblowers, purposefully obstructing congressional investigations, while the administration is farming out political hit pieces to their favorite media outlets and denying everything, hoping to sweep it all under the rug.
No one died in Watergate.
Iran-Contra didn’t arm narco-terrorists on our border or violent felons in our heartland.
It’s time for the administration to come clean, under oath, and face the consequences for its actions.

Some investigative journalists have revealed the Clinton’s fingers in the pie with DOJ assistance through Ruby Ridge, Waco, Oklahoma city and flight 800 while still wiping up future risk victims’ blood from their Arkansas to DC rise. The only site exposing convicting local witness testimony has been Ruby Ridge but political damage control appointment thread laced through the whole string of “events” indicates conspiracy with multiple government agency involvement. Condoned crime always cultivates brazen confidence woven into the fabric of false pride where political / financial gain abounds. Perhaps a national day of cemetery plot remembrance could be enacted before sharia law gets total priority.
When was the date on the “Gunwalker Indy”? Was this going on before as a test, or was it going on at the same time as the south of the border fiasco?

It is about time that law enforcement officers in the states began to prosecute federal officials for violations of state law.
Just because these feds are in ‘law enforcement’ does not mean that they are entitled to break state and federal laws themselves.

At least the states should try to file charges. Will the MSM report on what happens? Probably not, but how can they ignore it. How many times have private citizens, with little justification, tried to sue a member of the Bush administration? Let the states give it a try – at least starting with Holder. Watch Obama throw HIM under the bus.
David W – This will not take off in the public mind unless the LSM (a/k/a MSM) starts to publish stories about it, but they will not, as you note. They’re in the bag for O and nothing he does will get them to move to report a negative story on him, especially one which is so electric. If they do report some kind of story, it will be twisted all out of shape so it will be impossible to figure whether there was any wrongdoing, and who did it. Remember the motto of the LSM: All the fiction that fits our views, that what we print as news.

Well, this administration has always believed in not letting a serious crisis go to waste. If one doesn’t exist, then manufacture it. If it turns out that Gunwalker was an attempt to manufacture a crisis, then all senior gov’t officials involved should at the very least be sent to maximum security prison for the rest of their lives and be forced to share a cell with a hardened criminal who will introduce them to the ways of the world.

There have to be many people that know about this Indiana “Gangwalker” operation; so I believe someone will step up to the plate and do the right thing in providing as much information as possible. Law enforcement everywhere is taking a hit from the corruption of this administration and it’s time (now that we have information) to press on and support those that are seeking justice and accountability in these operations.

In a perfect world… Obama and his minions would be tried for treason, and if found guilty, executed (not just thrown out of office or imprisoned.). If we could have things as they were in the old days–only modernized– substituting the electric chair for hanging, Obama, Holder, et al, would be electrocuted on pay-per-view. The proceeds would go to some worthy cause– like a national fund to teach patriotic American values and real US history. None of this will happen, and it does not compare to what awaits Obama and his pals on the day of judgment. There will be a day of reckoning that will be witnessed by all, just not during this life.

Do you think that maybe we can find clear evidence of Obama’s complicity and… oh… I don’t know, maybe use some kind of legal process to attach guilt and decide the consequences before we stand him up against the wall and snuff him? I thought I said something about “tried” and “if found guilty.” I’m not a jury, nor a prosecutor, just someone writing my opinion on a blog. I did make certain assumptions, i.e., that Fast and Furious did not happen without Obama’s/ Holder’s knowledge and approval (can you honestly imagine they were *not* aware?), and that this operation can be considered an act of treason– as noted in the article. My strong feelings stem from the fact that I loathe the tyrannical impulses of this administration, and would like to see justice done. I think justice (with the above stated caveats) would be electrocution on pay-per-view, with free tickets and front-row seats to the family of agent Brian Terry, and the families of all the others who have been killed.

Well, we obviously need to know more. The operation targeted against gangs in the mid-west actually could have the weapons traced from source to target since, if aimed at US gangs, the weapons would have remained within the US. Is there any evidence either way as to whether arrests were made in Indiana. Straw purchaser and actual buyers before the weapons were able to be used in crimes?

This is NOT a perfect world. The people involved in this attempt to have U.S. citizens become the victims of illegal gun purchases will still live a long life with a great federal retirement. OR–something might change! How many whistle-blowers do we have to have in order to get a special prosecutor? Hmmmmmm? Do people have to end up dead before ANY PERSON at DOJ comes forward to expose this? Probably. If that is the case then aren’t we at the stage where our government is actually plotting against the citizens? 1930′s Germany. What ARE the citizens to do? Isn’t it funny how there aren’t any conspiracy sites about black helicopters and such on this one? Weird.
I find it hard to believe this is about creating an environment for greater gun control when somehow a fortune in guns are floating about and getting to the people who will pay the most for them. I think the real story will come if someone starts following the money.

I think you have a point but if so the question is still who benefits? Certainly drug cartels probably don’t care about political efforts for US gun control. There is also the fact that somebody, somewhere in the gov’t. could go to jail for this so the risk must have been outweighed by the rewards and when someone is risking jail; money is the more likely reward, not progressive legislation.
Maybe drug money gets steered as a payoff, but to whom and from whom? Its easy to say a corrupt organization got paid off but within criminal and political organizations are real people taking real risks and trying to make real money. Its easy to see how looking the other way to incoming drugs can be lucrative but how can money be made looking the other way as guns get smuggled out especially if the people buying the guns could have got them cheaper in the first place?
As far as I am concerned, motive is the least clear part of the scenario.
No real bad guy wants wimpy US-legal semi-automatic weapons, the only kind that can realistically be bought in gun stores. Guys that buy cocaine by the ton buy full-auto AKs by the case and for a Helluva lot less than you pay for a legal one in a US store.
This was all a propaganda ploy using US money and US “law enforcement” assets to try to set the stage to “do something” about gun sales in the US.

That’s all good, the upcoming election etc…but how do we know these guns are not being used against us when the election campaign officially starts? looking at this it appears that guns are spread everywhere by our own government, and for what purpose? The Indiana guns are surely not being there for cartels-I doubt that there is a large pool of drug cartels!?

Hopefully, one day we find out what really is going on beside inflaming and screeming ‘we need gun control’, this is beyond that.
Using this for electoral gain is the same mentality that brought us the scandal to begin with. No, this needs to be done sterile. The agendas and side plays will just have to be coincidental otherwise a risk arises of blowback if this gets too political on our side. It can still be used against the democrats. Their spots won’t change by next November.
It is at least a plausible, albeit improbable, argument that Fast & Furious was intended to arm the Sinaloas in opposition to the Zetas as a covert program on behalf of the Mexican government. The Mexican government would in this case be expected to protest publicly even if they were supportive privately. The argument falls flat when one considers how many non-American varieties of arms exist (e.g., Chinese AKs) which could be supplied covertly at less expense and with less required cross-agency coordination. The CIA could do that job without ever leaving Mexico, if that were in fact the job.
But, if a pattern can be demonstrated of multiple programs: (1) where the United States Government has directed and funded illegal domestic arms sales to known criminal organizations, over the objections of domestic gun dealers, ATF field agents, and the NICS database; (2) where there is no operational plan or capability to ensure a chain of custody of said arms sales that would withstand evidentiary challenges in a court of law; and, most importantly, (3) where there is no operational nor ideological connection relating those separate entities (Mexican, Honduran, domestic gangs) to one another, then the only remaining explanation is that the Administration wanted criminal gangs as a generic class to be illegally provided with American consumer arms. The only conceivable reason why the Administration might want that is to support a political claim that legal American consumer arms sales are at fault for the violence, and argue for the suppression of an explicitly recognized Constitutional right.
I can think of no other scandal in American history since 1776 in which the government has fostered the deaths of some of its citizens to advance a conspiracy to abridge the rights of the rest. “He has excited domestic insurrections amongst us, and has endeavoured to bring on the inhabitants of our frontiers….”
It makes more sense but is not excusable that favoring Sinaloa was meant to buy information about shipments and individuals from competing Mexican cartels that were supplying drugs to the US mainland.
That’s part of my point — a program directed at the Sinaloas alone could have a quid pro quo; operationally identical programs directed at Sinaloas, Hondurans, and domestic gangs have what in common?
There is a huge international arms market. To have the operation you describe, it does not make sense to use the ATFE and individual American gun dealers.

Drug prohibition contributes to criminal violence by two degrees of indirection, by creating a market for prohibited items. The items sold under Fast & Furious are not prohibited, except to a particular class of buyers. Fast and Furious contributed to criminal violence by a single degree of indirection, by arming the actors. (Direct action would be for undercover feds to shoot at Americans alongside the gangs.)
A better analogy to Fast & Furious would be a program that provided fake IDs and money to underage liquor buyers, with the goal of increasing fatal alcohol poisoning incidents in order to bring about repeal of the 21st Amendment.

1: The CEO of a data storage center announces that strict new security measures are needed (oh, and his brother-in-law heads up an e-security firm). To demonstrate, the CEO orders the Information Security department to open all passwords and take down all firewalls, antiviruses, and other malware detectors. Sure enough! Customers’ credit cards are drained, and a young woman is stalked to her door and killed by a guy who had a list of women with their names, addresses, and work locations. Ya see? We need the brother-in-law’s security services.
2: The head of the FDA wants to create a new investigative arm, which his brother would be just perfect to head up. To make the case, the head lets a suspect blood supply into hospitals. Sure enough, several recipients contract AIDS. Oh, and maybe they had sex with a few people. Fund this investigation arm and give my brother a hefty salary!

Do Holder and his minions really believe they will be immune from prosecution once we again have adults running the Justice Dept. The charade considered to be law enforcement by the current administration is destined to be short lived and casualty ridden. They will sit on the gun runner issue as long as possible to protect Obama’s reelection prospects, but once defeated at the polls – Katie bar the door. Heads will roll.
Maybe they’re all counting on the next president being as “let’s not revisit the past, we must ONLY look to the future” as Bush II was. There is another possiblility.
It was not unknown in the heyday of mob control of major cities for corrupt city administrations to crack down on interlopers horning in on established mob territory. This was to protect those providing graft to the mayor and other city officials.
You must ask why “Gunwalker” favored the Sinaloa cartel in deference to others? It did. Was something expected in return? Is a criminal entity that deals in millions of dollars in untraceable cash an asset to politicians who want to stay in power, as was done in New York City and Chicago? Does the Sinaloa cartel provide financial support or graft to friendly Mexican politicians? How would they repay those in the US for favorable treatment?
I’m not saying this isn’t an effort to scare the public into tougher gun laws, just there might be something bigger here.
This is the most plausible scenario I have yet read that does not require intent to subvert the Constitution. I had to think about this one a while.
The weakness of this scenario is that the ordinary graft and corruption common to the Prohibition era, as well as to 19th-century machine politics, tended to play out the same regardless of the ruling party. Graft in Democratic strongholds looked just like graft in Republican strongholds.
It seems to me that Fast & Furious is an outlier — qualitatively different than anything we have seen before. Usually the mob paid off the cops and politicians in return for favors and free passage; here it seems as if the government is paying off the mob.

It goes to the root of how governments “legalize” formerly illicit products. When Prohibition was lifted, that “re-legalization” of alcohol came with a heavy price, from which BATF eventually emerged. If and when “illicit” drugs are “legalized,” expect the government to regulate the crap out of that, thereby creating plenty of opportunities for continued illegal activity.
It means they’re making omelets out of Americans.
The fact that the administration is aiding in the cover up of “Gunwalker” and, will probably aid in the cover up of “Gang Walker” is pretty clear evidence that this goes way up in the administration. Maybe not to the President but I’d definitely think that Holder knew about this and should be gone… maybe even tried.
But none of this is going to happen in the next 18 months. Obama is not going to turn over enough documents and evidence, even as Darrell Issa and Chuck Grassley demand just that, for anyone, the Congress or the states, to successfully prosecute them while they remain in office.
The only way this will end while Obama and his team are in office is if there is a traitor within the ranks of the Obama administration.
Unless someone high up, like Napolitano, Holder or Mrs. Clinton, decide to cooperate with Congress, without the president’s prior approval, and takes/steals all kinds of damning evidence, this prosecution will not happen during Obama’s first (and hopefully only) term in office. Our next president will have to push this and push it hard to get all the facts and all the evidence out there.

It will not happen. There isn’t time now for an impeachment to play out in this term, and this will be his one and only term. And no president has ever been prosecuted for anything once he is out of office – not even investigated or harrassed. And that is a good thing, because otherwise no one would ever run for the office if his acts in office could be object of a witch hunt for partisan purposes after he is gone. The best we can do is investigate and expose these dispicable crimes to the hilt, “take out” Holder and some others, and make damn sure the “son of a bitch” (I am only using language currently sanctioned by the Office of the President) at the top is not re-elected. Then we have to pick up the pieces of our broken country and try to put it back together. Obama will retire with his pension.

It should be remembered that if this administration could appoint one leftist supreme court justice to replace a middle-of-the-road or conservative justice, it would be possible to revisit and reverse the previous decision interpreting the Second Amendment as providing a constitutional right to private ownership of firearms. This would be considered a most worthy victory for a Marxist minded regime. Allowing only a well regulated militia, i.e., agents of the administration, to possess firearms would render the law abiding citizenry helpless to oppose an oppressive government.
A basic dogma of Marxism is that “the end justifies the means”. A disarmed private citizenry would make a so-called “dictatorship by the proletariat” much more easily achievable. Accomplishing this “end” by the “means” of deaths of hundreds or thousands of innocent citizens would not cause a dedicated Marxist to blink an eye.

I think I see your point, but from the standpoint of disarming the public, more than a reversal of the public’s constitutional right to bear arms would be necessary. A reversal would not automatically make ownership of guns by citizens illegal. It would only remove the constitutional right to bear arms. In order to ban gun ownership throughout the United States, there would need to be some semblance of an argument that the left wing media could run with, such as a rising tide of firearms deaths in Mexico and the United States growing out of control. With this semblance of an argument, the administration could claim the cover of legitimacy for executive orders and regulations that would, for all practical purposes, make gun ownership impossible.
As one can glean from the article and some of the posts on this site, widespread distribution of firearms to criminals in the United States and Mexico creates a double edged sword for both the unthinking and the calculating proponents of (1) legalization and government regulated distribution of so-called recreational drugs such as cocaine, methamphetamines and marijuana (of course this would call for a massive bureaucracy to control production, inspection, distribution, importation, treatment for addiction and taxation of these drugs), and (2) banning private citizen ownership of firearms.
In all respects, Department of Justice ‘walking’ of guns to violent criminals (whether it be in Arizona, Indiana, Texas, Florida and probably other undisclosed locations) creates an ideal environment for expansion to a huge Marxist government. Since the Democrats will retain a majority in the Senate (the body that would try Obama in the event of an impeachment) to the end of his current term, and the chances of his reelection are likely less than the Democrats retaining a Senate majority, there’s not much point in a hue and cry for impeachment. Continued investigation & exposure of Gun Walker/Runner with the reminder that Obama presided over, even if he wasn’t directly responsible for, a criminal enterprise political ends should accomplish the essential goal. That would be a removal of a corrupt administration and its political enablers in the Senate.
It just occurred to me, all these record gun sales in the United States, I assumed it to be mostly ordinary citizens buying those guns, but apparently some portion of them were being laundered in mass quantities into who knows whose hands for who knows what purpose.

Well, just on the principle of partisan tit for tat, I always thought the democrats deserved a pay back for doing Nixon–after all, no one died from Watergate, and people actually did go to prison. Understandably Mexicans have no shortage of opinions on the narco war. One common theory is that the ruling PAN party is conspiring with the Sinaloa Cartel to eliminate the other more diabolical cartels like the Zetas who do things like murder everybody on a bus for no apparant reason.

Yes, not only are the Zetas more blood thirsty, but also remnants of the Northeast Mexico separatist movement (Nuevo Leon, Tamaulipas, and Coahuila states), which has wanted to be free of the yoke of Mexico City and the lesser southern citizens of the that nation. Arming Sinaloa against the Zetas/Juarez/and or Gulf cartels was always a way of keeping the usually more free-market and productive northern/northeastern Mexico in check.
For a Democrat pol, it makes more sense to help Sinaloa. Sinaloa has more ties with mainstream California and other traditional Mexican-American democratic patrons, including law enforcement. It is the (relatively) genteel Italian mafia of the cartels that will die out in their sixties and seventies before being beaten head-on. Zetas tend to have ties to Texans and the new immigrants of the southeast US where their is less likelihood they will be automatic Democrats (or even evade deportation for enough time to pay dividends politically).
Finally, Obama and Holder might be banking on the newly elected Mexican president (their election is on July 1, 2012) to cal for their extradition to Mexico. This may actually make them sympathetic figures to some people (the hate Mexico crowd) who wouldnt vote for the wishy washy Perry or fake Romney.

I was born in Indy almost 50 yrs, ago and have lived here most of my life. Starting about 10 yrs. ago there started being areas of town that look more like a border town. The only signs not in espanol are the street and traffic signs.
A surprising number of “undocumented workers” (PC for Illegal Aliens)living here have been arrested while apparently having no vocation in this city other than distributing HUGE quantities of a wide variety of different illicit drugs from Mexico. They have also been shown to have ties to Mexican drug cartels and gangs like MS 13.
There are so many illegals with no IN. drivers’ licenses, no auto insurance and no valid auto registrations that the police do nothing with them when they are involved in traffic accidents. They are just allowed to go on their way, and the other party is instructed turn in a claim under their uninsured motorist coverage. I have personally witnessed this, but thankfully not actually involved in the accidents. These foreign nationals legally obtain a driver’s license from NM. Then they legally obtain tags and vehicle registration from third party vendors in IL. with no legitimate IL. residence.
So, to me it is not inconceivable there could be a “Fast and Furious” type operation designed to move arms from FFLs in Evansville or anywhere in IN. or even KY. to drug traffickers here in the mid-west. Evansville is about two hours from Louisville, three hours from Indianapolis (11th largest metropolitan area in the nation) and five hours from Chicago. Chicago has been blaming FFLs in Gary and East Chicago (Both in IN.) for arming gangs in the Windy City since the mid 80′s, so why wouldn’t the Feds go as far south as possible without leaving IN. to do the same.
If the intention is to establish a cause to implement greater restrictions on the second amendment then the ideal FFLs to exploit would be in states with less restrictive gun laws. States such as, but limited to AZ., Fl. or IN. Not so much IL. where honest citizen face draconian gun control laws that are a “model” for the restrictions to be espoused by the present administration.

I would note that at least TWO Federal Agents have been murdered as a result of these operations. Can you imagine what “Law Enforcement” would be doing if those murders resulted from actions of Mere Citizens? Instead, those murders were the result of actions by their Masters. The silence is deafening. And the myth of “Rule of Law” has been shown to be a mockery.
Furthermore, the transporting of guns to the Mexican cartels is a violation of ITAR, unless the Department of State formally issued a permit for it. But nobody seems to be talking about that, do they?

We know that the Congressional committee has vehemently objected to the stone wall erected by the AG. We know the head of the ATFE claims no prior knowledge of the orphan program (apparently no one official claims parenthood of this illegal, and unbounded department wide program, which has resulted in murder(s)). We can conclude, based on facts, that the DOJ is an extremely odd organization.
At this time the facts all lead to a infinite number of theories, each with gaping holes. I suspect lying, but have yet to hear the Jacques Chirac defense, e.g. I can not remember anything prior to last Tuesday. Perhaps infinite is not true either.
