Good for Wisconsin, Good for America
Reforms aimed at economic expansion resulted in increased revenue? Who knew? Understand that this result is supposed to have been impossible according to President Obama. He claimed “it never worked.” And by the way, Wisconsin is now the only state in the country that has a fully funded public pension system.
These results give a powerful real-life model for determining what works and what does not work. To the extent that Romney and Ryan will pursue many of the same fiscal and tax policies as Wisconsin, the nation will respond in a similar way.
“How does it know?” is of course an answerable question in the thermos example, and it is answerable and demonstrable in the economy question. The answer is the essence of the coming election in November, and the recall chaos in Wisconsin should give those who investigate it a practical example.

Ohio has seen a similar revival under Kasich. The $8 B deficit has been converted to a $500 M rainy day fund. We failed to castrate the unions, but that is a task for another day. At least grownups are back in charge at the Statehouse.
What is needed here and nationwide is a pro-business initiative to rebuild manufacturing in this country. Service economy my foot. We need to build things again.
Maybe the slogan should be: “Vote the socialists out, and let’s get back to work.”
If I recall (sorry, hate that word) correctly, Walker’s policies saved teachers jobs when union demands threatened them (how ironic).
Contrary to Lefty beliefs, math is not an ideology.
True. By opening up contracts that once went exclusively to union-affiliated entities, the state saved money. Which allowed them to hold on to and hire more teachers and even … reduce class size!
It’s unfortunate that Christie on Tuesday, touting what he accomplished in New Jersey, didn’t showcase other such success stories in Wisconsin, Ohio and Indiana. Had he done so, it would have driven home the message that such policies are *proven* to work, and can work on the national level.
“THANK YOU GOV. WALKER”
[Some Seniors may recognize this as coming from a song made famous in WWI, WWII, etc.]
S.E.I.U. were B.O.’s HOs, parlez-vous,
S.E.I.U. were B.O.’s HOs, parlez-vous.
S.E.I.U.’s were B.O.’s Hos,
They drank his Kool-Aid, through the nose,
Inky Dinkey parley-vous.
The Unions tried to “count the vote” parlez-vous,
The Unions tried to “skew the vote” parlez-vous.
The Unions tried to “buy the vote”,
Obama planned to laugh and gloat,
Inky Dinkey parley-vous.
The recalls failed in every way, parlez-vous,
The recalls failed in every way, parlez-vous,
The recalls failed in every way,
NOW SEE WISCONSIN; COME TO STAY!
Inky Dinkey parley-vous.
The “right to work” is what we need, parlez-vous,
The “right to work” is what we need, parlez-vous.
The “right to work” is what we need,
To stop the graft, to stop the greed,
Inky Dinkey parley-vous.
