The Great One, Mark Levin, sits with Glenn Reynolds of Instapundit.com in the latest edition of his Instavision series on PJTV to discuss his new book The Liberty Amendments: Restoring the American Republic.  Levin thinks that “Progressivism” has intentionally undermined the U.S. Constitution. Is it time for an Article V convention to propose amendments to the United States Constitution? Click here or on the above still frame to watch and hear what the Great One has to say.

We have 27 Republican controlled states right now, and it would take 34 to call a convention. When you look at recent events such as Wisconsin and Michigan electing Republican governors and Indiana passing right-to-work, it doesn't seem far-fetched that if the situation in the country worsens (it will), more states will turn away from the Democrats and will begin to consider a larger constitutional fix that restores the power balance between the federal government and the states.

The proposed amendments are one thing, the proposed vehicle another. Like the first, by and large, but hate the second, which is so far removed from reality it's little more than polyanna politics. L is a very smart guy, not inclined to fantasy, so it's not clear what he really expects to happen.

Our salvation depends on thirty-eight cats fighting in a sack kicked around by the MSM, harassed all the while by a suborned legal system in a rapidly failing state? Don't be silly.

"If you think in terms of a year, plant a seed; if in terms of ten years, plant trees; if in terms of 100 years, teach the people." - Confucius

Anyone who thinks Levin's "New Constitution" is going to make it through 38 states is following a Pied Piper. If the situation of the nation was such that it could make it through 38 states the situation of the nation would be such that we wouldn't need it. Even if by some act of God it made it through what's it going to have, a "Simon Says"/"This time we really mean it" clause on it?

Look at Levin's proposed "This time we really mean it Constitution" like a book on Physical Fitness. To get the book you have to swim the Atlantic ocean and climb Mt. Everest and I would say that would probably be less difficult than getting 38 states to go with Levin with his proposed "This time we really mean it Constitution" or 'Simon says Constitution". Well if you were so physically fit that you could swim the Atlantic ocean and climb Mt. Everest, you wouldn't need any book on Physical Fitness. In fact, it would be about the last thing you needed.

Meantime while Levin refuses to challenge Obama's legality and treats Rubio with kid gloves, at least by Levin's normal Pit Bull standards, tilts at windmills, and Pie in the Sky followers cheer and shout, and denounce any other voices, the real world with forever nation changing Death to America by Demographic Pressure Cooker Rubionesty marches on.

Levin also seems to completely ignore the fact that the left, with it's MSM and RINO Republicans is stronger that the right. If say you lived in a Home Owners Association neighborhood and they restricted, say, the flying of American flags to the 4th of July, Flag Day, Memorial Day and Veterans Day, and you wanted it to be permitted to fly an American flag at any time, would you want to call for a Home Owners Association meeting on flying the American flag, if a majority of the members were for banning it completely?

If this thing even gets to even the 50 yard line, I'll enlisted, until then I think Levin's followers are going to be very disappointed to find Levin's New Elixir won't grow any more hair than water.
