Ask most Americans & they will tell you they could care less about Clooney or any other Hollywood loonies activism. In short, the girls think he’s pretty, they think he portrays an action hero well, but, they go home & depend on real men afterward. He’s a dream, but dream’s end. His personal opinion of himself is predictably pathetically smug.
He has no guts, he attacks the easy because the easy permit his voice. He is a coward when it comes to the difficult because he knows they would probably make him pay for his remarks. He needs to live a year or two under the totalitarian rule of one of his utopian leftist dictators to see his ideal’s suck, big time!
But then, he probably figures they would pamper him because of his money & his notoriety. In short, he would not live as human beings do under those regimes. He would be a member of the party elite.
He would be too much of a coward to live as an average citizen to see what its REALLY like to be subjugated by a socialist-Marxist dictator who subverts real freedoms!

That wasn’t the case just after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, when some of the biggest names in show business rallied to help the USO.

Precisely. During that time, it was hip to be in favor of US military action. Hell, Bush had approval ratings in the 90s.

Now? Not so hip. But apparently if you can remember a time when it was, you can maintain your “support the troops” cred.

It couldn’t last. Now Clooney can’t bring himself to say anything nice about Afghanistan. Why should we think Darfur would be any different?

When the confluence of the clouds of Smug from San Francisco and South Park were to be impacted by the smug from the Academy Awards acceptance speech of… wait for it…George Clooney.

Yes, it was so dangerous in Ramstein in 2001.

The twit has been able to “support the troops” on that ever since.

Meanwhile he rants about how we should “do something” in Darfur. The only segment of American society that can do something there is doing something in Afghanistan and Iraq. But Clooney hates that. And if we sent a couple of divisions to Darfur he’d hate that, too. Because of the icky violence.

To be fair– not that you show any indication of wanting to be– Clooney toured with the USO after 9/11. But if not out of basic fariness, support for the troops demands that you give him credit where it’s due:

Newton said the dangers in Iraq, along with some stars’ disagreements with the Bush administration’s war policies, have limited celebrity volunteers for USO tours.

That wasn’t the case just after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, when some of the biggest names in show business rallied to help the USO. Jennifer Lopez and hip-hop star Ja Rule joined rap-rocker Kid Rock for a concert at Ramstein Air Base in Germany, telecast on MTV, in December 2001. Other top celebrities visited troops that month in Turkey: Julia Roberts, Brad Pitt, George Clooney and Matt Damon.

Ho hum, same old same old.

These Hollywood idiots know in their heart of hearts that they are being paid more money than they or their families could ever spend in their lifetimes for, and lets be quite clear on this, playing. Not working, playing. Thats right, the thing most adults stopped doing when they hit their teens and got on with doing the jobs that actually make a country and society function.

These cossetted adults, surrounded by toadying lackeys and paid sycophants, have nothing of value to contribute to world affairs despite the huge soap box handed to them by the media.

Clooney and all his moneyed guilt should go back to play-time and stay there.
