The Democrats should not have a problem with this as we all know it was the Republicans who stole the presidential election away from Al Gore down in Florida. Why everyone knows it was the Republicans who cheated and stole the election away… hanging chads and all! So with this in mind all you Democrats… won’t you admit that voters are cheating in favor of Republicans and stop this silly blockade against voter ID? If you will insist on voter id then think of all the fraudulent Republican votes that won’t happen. Do it for the good of the party… you Democrats INSISTED that Bush ONLY won the vote in Florida due to Republican cheating. For the good of the Democrat party then… insist that ALL voters id themselves with official documentation so that Republicans won’t have a chance… unless of course you were actually LIARS then and know how valuable cheating is to your side… naw, couldn’t be that.
As far as the Dept of Justice building…well you don’t really expect Eric Holder to allow all dem po’ folk to invade HIS Justice building now do you? It would be a crazy idea to think of it as a place for the common man to visit don’t you think?

Some people will say voting is different because it’s a right. Those people don’t have much to say when I then question why I need an I.D. to buy a gun and get a permit and pay fees (poll tax) to exercise my 2nd Amendment rights.

Why are you skirting the real issue? Why do you not face reality? The reason they do not want photo IDs required at elections is simply, THEY WANT TO CHEAT. Say it. Hammer them on it. Don’t pussyfoot around it, accuse them of it. They will scream “foul” but so what. It will only bring the issue to the fore. Make it a mantra – THEY WANT TO CHEAT.
QQBoss, that’s it exactly! Don’t get caught up in triviality. Just say that there’s one reason, and one reason only, to oppose voter ID and that’s because you want voting fraud. Then repeat ad nauseum. Most of the opposers are along for the Democrat ride and know you’re absolutely right.
If you need another argument, point out that most government welfare programs (such as food stamps) require ID, yet all these disenfranchised voters seem to be able to secure these benefits without much trouble.

State that black and hispanic people ( which 90% are democrats) are too stupid in life to present I.D. when asked for it. Are they saying they are too lazy to find I.D. and then go out to vote? What a hassle.They should not be able to drive,apply for welfare ,apply for food stamps,apply for student aid. They should not be let into government buildings. They are incapable of presenting I.D. to policeman,they should be detained until they are not wanted for any warrants. It’s all a joke but they should be shamed for the hypocrites that they are.
Being a lefty means that you can indeed “have it both ways” or any number of ways. All that matters is the advancement of your position. There are no rules. There is no “fairness”. There can be no hypocrisy. There is only the goal. Whatever is necessary.
Of course. There’s no objective truth, only various “cultural viewpoints.” Anyone who thinks otherwise is a backwater, bigoted Neanderthal who hates women, blacks, and gays. The beauty of this position (for the left) is that it enthrones them as the adjudicators of all these competing interests. That is why they hate the idea that someone can know objective truth, particularly objective moral truth, and particularly objective moral truth given by God. Because if there is such a thing, then THEY are just another narrow interest group and there is no need for them to adjudicate the various “cultural viewpoints,” because God has already done so. Secularist progressivism itself becomes relativized, just another historical artifact, and not the next stage of human evolution they so fervently wish it to be.

I currently live in China. For low level positions, the Chinese national government has opened up to having elections to give people a sense that they have some control over their destiny. The elections have all the appearance of being fair, the opportunity to vote is seen as something to be taken advantage of (high turnouts relative to American low level elections), and ID must be shown (aliens, legal or not, are not allowed to vote).
So CAP and others are further to the left of the spectrum than the ChiComs? Whodathunkit. Except I don’t think this is a left/right issue- it is a ‘we want to win at any cost’ issue. If the shoe was on the other foot, you can bet they would be screaming for voter ID requirements until it seems like a bad idea again later.

I can see them saying it is a matter of building security, but couldn’t the voting locations say the same? I don’t see how they could come up with any valid response to this.
Once again the feds are talking out of both sides of their mouth. I need not list all the anti-voter ID talking heads and their totally misguided reasons, in addition to the DOJ lawsuits against same. Now, we have the new federal guidelines for applying and re-applying for a driver’s license. In which the applicant must show strong proof of identity. Apparently someone, somewhere, didn’t get the memo !

I love how Eric Holder came to Austin to rail against voter ID in Texas, but you couldn’t get into the event without a valid photo ID.

Some states will not allow one to vote without ID, fortunately I live in one but it’s not one of the ‘important’ states. Why should I have to show a photo ID go fill out a Form 4473? Since you are probably not informed about firearms purchases, that is the BATFE form that must be completed before I can excercise my right to own a gun.

Hmmm… how many of these same “classes” of people (african americans, hispanics, poor, elderly) hold credit/debit cards, bank accounts, or ever cash checks? NONE of these activities can take place unless the person has some photo ID. These are specious arguments, patently false.
Hmmm…. do any members of the “subject groups” (african american, hispanics, poor, elderly) ever cash or write checks, use credit/debit cards, open bank accounts, drive, own vehicles, have utilities at the places they live? ALL of these things necessitate the person to have photo ID, usually issued by government. How ridiculous. I LOVED the double standard exposed by this video, too…. who wold have guessed?
Its not about whether people do or don’t have IDs, its about requiring them.
There is no serious problem that is avoided – as much as the advocates against id requirements can’t show that people don’t have IDs, those who are FOR id requirements can’t show that there is a fraud problem resulting from the lack of IDs that needs to be solved.
I am a valid resident of the states, I am entitled to vote, and I am *NOT* constitutionally required to get any identification documents from anybody to validate my right to my constitutional entitlement to vote, or to freely move within the states.
It is true that inconsistency is being pointed out here – but it should be resolved the other way – remove civil id requirements from all governmental access. Requiring a falsifiable document is just stupid.
