I have nothing but contempt for Islam.
Whatever Christians and Jews did hundreds and thousands of years ago does not justify Islam or, its Quran(spelling?) today.
I live in the United States of America. This country was founded on the belief that church and government are separate. Review the Connecticut Constitution for a clear view of this.
Anyone who believes in the rights of women but believes honour killing is and, can be justified should leave the U.S.
Those of us who remain should remain vigilant to what Islamist are trying to install here. Make no mistake about it. They supposedly have taken a giant step in England where sharia law is being accepted. Absolute folly, if true. Actually, far, far worse than folly. Dangerous. (And I am not one to be dramatic).
“The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property, either as a child, a wife, or a concubine, must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men.” — Winston Churchill
This is a muslim issue within secular culture.
Not all majority muslim countries have frequent honor killings (they are rare in Morocco, Indonesia and Bosnia). Thus muslims say that this is a cultural issue, not an Islamic issue. This close enough to the truth to fool the apologists for Islam.
However, within majority muslim countries and countries with majority muslim neighborhoods, honor killings occur nearly only among Muslim families. Once the apologists understand this they typically say they don’t trust the statistics or in rare cases they see the light.
For example, in Jordan, honor killings are for all practical purposes exclusive to muslims. Same thing Pakistan, Iran, etc.
