Examining the GreenJobsGate Emails: Obama Administration Takes Direction from Wind Lobby, Soros Group
- The AWEA was unnerved by the Spanish report.
- AWEA went to DoE’s NREL with its anxieties, asking what the Obama administration would do to respond.
- NREL began putting together an internal “talking points” memo on the paper, working with AWEA.
- AWEA’s chief lobbyist told Cathy Zoi that NREL was producing the internal memo with AWEA.
- Upset by a George Will column citing the Spanish paper, and now aware that AWEA was crafting the memo with NREL, Zoi contacted NREL. She asked if the memo could be published as an official Obama administration response, rather than an NREL response.
- NREL and DoE staff showed worry, because the paper was never intended to be — and does not meet DoE requirements to be — an external report. It was only suited to be an internal memo, as it reflected no actual research.
- The paper was completed and sent to AWEA, with a request that AWEA send it to the Center for American Progress and the Union of Concerned Scientists. This was done at the request of DoE officials, who wanted the two leftist groups to offer comments on the paper prior to its release.
- At this time, internal DoE and NREL discussion ensued about toning down the partisan nature of the paper. Oddly, this discussion had been accompanied by a request for CAP involvement.
- Zoi’s office made sure the paper was issued with its status upgraded to be a more formal document than regulations indicate is proper. Emails reveal NREL and DoE staff worrying about pressure from Zoi to make this exception.
The emails fall into three categories, each raising interesting questions:
1. Emails discussing how to spin the Spanish report: how to respond to this challenge to one of the Obama administration’s cherished programs?
2. Emails telling of pressure being put on DoE staffers by Cathy Zoi.
Advertisement3. Emails describing the DoE’s relationship with Big Wind, the Soros-funded CAP, and the leftist UCS.
You might expect this to be a story of great interest to the mainstream media.
But I have excellent information pointing to at least one national newspaper being given these same emails by DoE, upon request, only to have its editors spike the story. In addition to being a case-study in Obama-style governance, this incident reaffirms the role and the importance of new media (such as PJM).
As of today, the NREL and DoE are still withholding the comments from CAP and AWEA, and apparently are also withholding other communications that should have been provided following the appeal of other AWEA communications withheld.
Even so, the documents produced so far tell us much about the Obama administration and its dealings with favored lobbyists and ideological activists. As the investigation continues, we expect to discover much more of what the American people deserve to know regarding the current administration’s manner of governance.
Let that be a lesson to you-all: Never let economic reality (or any other reality) get in the way of a Socialist Manifesto.

Organized CRIME: The ‘looting’ of $11 TRILLION from the U.S. economy

The following is based on a report by Cliff Kincaid for Accuracy in Media.
Zubi Diamond, author of the powerful new book, Wizards of Wall Street, says the agenda of Soros and other short sellers is clear. Their purpose, he says, is “to loot America and any foreign country which invested in America. Greece was one of them. Iceland was ravaged and annihilated.”
The economic crisis was deliberately engineered for profit and political gain and has already resulted in the “looting” of $11 trillion from the U.S. economy…The Managed Funds Association, the lobbying arm of the hedge fund short sellers, is crafty and deceitful.
“The most influential members of Managed Funds Association, the hedge fund short sellers, have an anti-capitalism agenda, an anti-industrialized nation agenda, and a far left liberal, Marxist radical agenda,” Diamond says.” Hedge Fund short sellers are not capitalist. They are anti-capitalist and they are not investors; they are anti-investors.” He says they “loot” companies and countries.
…“George Soros put the support of the organization [the MFA] behind Obama,” his book says. “Soros wanted somebody that hates the traditional America and its constitution, a left-wing radical like himself, so he chose Obama.”
“Nothing will happen until the American people know what caused the economic crisis and the solution for fixing it,” he tells AIM. “Nothing will happen until the American people know about the Managed Funds Association and their role in engineering the economic collapse.” He calls the MFA “the cancer in our society that needs to be cut out, exterminated and abolished. America and capitalism will not survive unless the Managed Funds Association is eradicated, uprooted and destroyed.”
Diamond notes that Soros is a member of the Managed Funds Association, and they are “making negative comments about the Euro. They are targeting and preying on capitalist countries and currencies.”
He goes on, “They feel invincible. They have a license to destroy any company or country or hold the company or country hostage while preying on the investors. They are having dinner meetings, openly discussing collusion to attack a particular asset class, equity, or a country’s currency. If this is not organized crime, I do not know what is.”
He warns that any asset class that is traded in the NYSE, CME, or EUREX exchanges is susceptible to manipulation by the members of Managed Funds Association and their strategic partners. “They have primed the market for manipulation,” he says.
In the case of Greece, Diamond says that the country “gathered all her nest eggs and brought it to the wolves’ den at Goldman Sachs,” a member of Managed Funds Association, “but Goldman Sachs then shorted the market while their clients were on the other side of the trade.”
Diamond says there would not have been a Greece debt crisis if all the safeguard regulations had not been removed. He blames Christopher Cox, who served as chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), for laying the groundwork for this financial upheaval.
…“The Managed Fund Association is the government,” Diamond charges. “They bought the policy makers and regulators, and then took over our government.”

Time and time again the Left just marches forward regardless of the fact that history, science, economics, sociology and every other “ology” continues to show the folly of their agenda (although it must be said that they invent or infest all of the latter categories for the sole purpose of replacing reality with their ideology)But what is always the most alarming is the always present, “just shut up the opposition” mentality. In a democracy that can be very hard and with the internet, almost impossible. But the never stop trying to quiet the opponents of their agenda.
I know accusing the “other side” of tyrannical tendencies can be over used but I ask “does anyone doubt for a minute that they would lock us up to silence us if they could get away with it?”

Hey, this is the president from Harvard Law that promised change, for example, no lobbyists in government positions making policy. He is the post Western president who is just running another banana republic, Chicago style. When he says he needs to explain his health care policies better so the rubes will understand them, what he really means is he needs to lie better. Hell, even his Department of Justice now hires corporate “mob lawyers” to handle the policy and prosecution for Gitmo POWs they formerly represented. Life is good when you can play it from both sides, and call it the rule of law. I’m curious if the democrats would be so sanguine if corporate lawyers with a penchant for defending the Klan were hired to run the civil rights division?

What I like best about this article is that PJM was just as strong in its condemnation when Bush and Cheney were in the pockets of Enron, purposely blacking out whole parts of the American West to kick up their profits. PJM was all over that story.

Given what we have learned from the Spanish experience, we now know that this would cost $4,000,000,000,000 (4 trillion) and 11,000,000 (11 million) non-green jobs.
Given the state of the US budget and unemployment, it looks like this is one promise Obama may actually keep.

Just a hint though, in hopes of teaching you better debate technique: tu quoque is always dangerous. If you are claiming that the Big Wind influence was acceptable, then you’re implicitly claiming the supposed Big Oil influence was acceptable; if you’re saying this supposed Big Oil influence was unacceptable you implicitly indict the Obama Administration’s ties to Big Wind.
So, facts wrong, a formal fallacy, and a self-refuting argument. That’s a troll score of 8+ — a worthy effort. Congratulations.
The wind lobby included T. Boone Pickens, who got in bed with Obama during the campaign and, of course, has not been heard from since helping these wind bags into power with his personal advertising. Fossil fuels are cheaper, more plentiful, and better producers of energy than wind and solar, despite billions of taxpayer dollars spent on installing them, have proven to be. We are still paying more for bottled water than we ever have for gasoline. We don’t even need bottled water, since we have spent hundreds of billions of dollars making our tap water the most drinkable in the world today.
As stories of this nature and magnitude come to light (Thanks Charlie and PM) I hope more than anything it gets people to start seriously questioning the wisdom of government getting involved in any business in terms of pushing one industry (or company) over another. Remember: “When buying and selling is controlled by politicians, the first things to be bought and sold are politicians.”
