Europe Says Jerusalem Should Be a Two-State Capital
The EU resolution also puts the onus exclusively on Israel to revive the peace process. For example, paragraph 6 states:
The [European] Council reiterates that settlements, the separation barrier where built on occupied land, demolition of homes and evictions are illegal under international law, constitute an obstacle to peace and threaten to make a two-state solution impossible. The Council urges the government of Israel to immediately end all settlement activities, in East Jerusalem and the rest of the West Bank and including natural growth, and to dismantle all outposts erected since March 2001.
And the EU resolution presupposes the future status of Jerusalem. Paragraph 8 states:
The Council is deeply concerned about the situation in East Jerusalem. In view of recent incidents, it calls on all parties to refrain from provocative actions. The European Council recalls that it has never recognized the annexation of East Jerusalem. If there is to be a genuine peace, a way must be found through negotiations to resolve the status of Jerusalem as the future capital of two states. The Council calls for the reopening of Palestinian institutions in Jerusalem in accordance with the Roadmap. It also calls on the Israeli government to cease all discriminatory treatment of Palestinians in East Jerusalem.
At the same time, the EU statement says nothing about the Palestinian refusal to recognize and respect Israel as a Jewish state; nor does it request Palestinians to accept Israel’s offer to return to the negotiating table.
Not surprisingly, Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad has hailed the EU statement, saying it marks an important stage on the road to Palestinians establishing an independent state with its capital in East Jerusalem.
Chief Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat says the EU statement will help to demarcate the borders of a future Palestinian state. “The statement is very important and essential, we can rely on it during our diplomatic movement to gain a massive European consensus and support over the demarcation of a future Palestinian state in the Security Council,” Erekat told Voice of Palestine Radio.
Israeli officials believe the Palestinians are orchestrating a diplomatic campaign with Europe to coerce Israel into accepting the establishment of a Palestinian state. Military Intelligence chief Amos Yadlin, Shin Bet chief Yuval Diskin, and other top defense officials say the Palestinian Authority is working with the EU to force Israel into a settlement “from above.”
In the meantime, EU-Israeli relations are likely to remain tense. Ireland, for example, is fuming over Netanyahu’s refusal to allow Irish Foreign Minister Micheál Martin, a notorious critic of Israel, from entering the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip. Netanyahu says high-profile diplomats will be banned from entering Gaza because he believes such visits grant legitimacy to Hamas, which seized the coastal strip by force in 2007.
Sweden is also angry with Israel. In August 2009, the Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet published an article that called for an investigation into claims that Israeli soldiers harvested organs from dead Palestinians. Bildt has refused to condemn the article, saying Sweden has a “free press.” Instead, he canceled a visit to Israel, which was scheduled for September.
Bildt is now furious that Israel successfully convinced France to block his effort to create a Palestinian capital in East Jerusalem. He said Israel should desist from trying to divide the EU, which he insists is a “cohesive and clear force” on global issues, including the Middle East.
Bildt’s comments were in response to those made by Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman, who said that Bildt wanted to present the EU declaration as his achievement before Sweden’s six-month EU presidency ends on December 31. “Sweden, which is completing its term as holder of the EU rotating presidency without any achievements or any significant returns, tried toward the end of its term to steal the show and steal the vote. That didn’t succeed,” Lieberman told Israel Radio.
The EU doesn’t matter. They have little military power, NO Moral authority and so long as Russia has a grip on their gas supplies, no Economic power. What will the EU do? Stop buying Israeli Oranges? Whoopie!

Israel cannot sanely permit the palestinians to form a national state because the announced goal of the palestinians is to destroy Israel. Jerusalem has been the capitol of the hebrew state for over 3,000 years. The arabs are the interlopers-trespassers. They belong east of the Jordan.
To establish a security border, Israel must control the west bank in its entirety, gaza, and not permit an armed enemy, sworn to Israel’s destruction, to share a border with Israel.

Not only will the EU call for the division of Jerusalem, but the United Nations voice will become louder and louder, calling for the division also. Then we will surely know that desolation has come into the Land of Israel, when the Holy City is permanently in the hands of the one who causes desolation and his people who call for wiping Israel and the Jewish People from the face of the earth.

According to the UN (1947, resolution 181) Jordan is the home of the Arabs living in Israel;

Neither the Arabs or the Jews have been very interested in settling this issue by anything other then force. The current terrorist tactics the Arabs use on the Jews AND the rest of the world were taught them first hand by the Jews. I think the Arabs are mostly at fault since they had the opportunity to destroy Israel without firing a shot and choose to start a conventional war instead. Several of them, in fact.
If the Arabs had agreed to any of the White papers (especially the ’38 one AKA the Peel Commission)Israel would be a strip mall and Deli on the road between Damascus and Cairo. The heavily armed, militant Israel of today was created by Arab attempts to destroy it. Attempts that NEVER had a chance to succeed. Muslims make lousy soldiers. They have sucked at war for the last 1000 years or so.
If you read the last link I posted, you will see that MANY attempts were made to create a two (2) state solution. They all failed because neither party wants to share. Jews and Arabs don’t play well together.
The Brits were tired of both sides , so the conned the USA into taking over the problem. Truman was President and needed to get elected. So he sold out the Arabs to the Jewish lobby and the serious wars started.
Meanwhile, at no point did the Brits, the UN or anybody else envision a separate nation called Palestine. The various plans after ’33 called for the Arabs in the Mandate to relocate to Trans-Jordan ( across the river Jordan, renamed Jordan in the early 50′s, I think.). The Jews liked this one because it gave them all of Ancient Israel, which none of the other plans did. When the Jews counterattcked in ’67 and ’73, they went up to those borders and stopped. Please note that the IDF stopped because they wanted to, not because the Arabs made them.
I think the E U should pay attention at what is going on in their own countries, I assure you that you are closer at having two state rule than Israeli ever will be.
