Eric Holder Slides into the Depths of Race Politics

The nation has seen more than a few odd attorneys general over the years. Among them have been the eccentric John Mitchell, Richard Nixon’s man at the Justice Department; Bill Clinton’s peculiar Janet Reno; and the personality-challenged John Ashcroft, who served under George W. Bush. Personal oddness or political partisanship is one thing, but an attorney general who plays the race card flirts with the ghosts of American history.
Since the days of President Lyndon Johnson’s crass racial attitudes, presidents and members of their administrations have understood the particularly destructive role that race has played in America’s past. Thus, they have generally avoided taking part in actions that inflame those wounds from a very ugly chapter of history.
Barack Obama and Eric Holder had the opportunity to help steer the nation toward race-neutral policies — perhaps into a post-racial era. Instead, the first black president has often dabbled in the politics of racial identity, and the first black attorney general has often shamelessly exposed his own solidarity with “his people.” This is the man who lectured us about America being a nation of racial cowards because white Americans haven’t engaged in sufficient “soul searching.”
However, this served as a lead-in to Holder’s reprehensible campaign to convince black Americans that their voting rights are under deliberate attack from “Republican-initiated” voter identification laws. Since last year, Holder has been on a tear, delivering this message to black audiences all across the country.
This divisive campaign has emerged on a short list of the Obama administration’s reelection tactics. Some other tactics are the claim that Republicans are waging a war on women and the class-warfare argument that wealthy Americans and Wall Street investment firms are getting richer on the backs of the 99 percent.
As the nation’s leading law enforcement figure, Eric Holder holds a great deal of political power. This makes his references to the existence of racially hostile political forces trying to rip away voting rights from black people all the more troubling and irresponsible. Holder is fully aware that blacks were forced to fight civil rights battles just to attain the right to vote in southern states. James Chaney, Andrew Goodman, and Michael Schwerner were murdered in 1964 by Mississippi racists while engaging in voter education and registration among poor blacks. Holder plays with fire by rhetorically tying contemporary voting issues to those dark days.
He has also coyly claimed that his concerns about voter ID laws are that they will place an undue burden on elderly, young, student, low-income, and minority voters. Yet most speeches given by Holder on this issue have been in front of largely black audiences.
Last December, he traveled to Austin, Texas, where he told an audience that voter ID laws harm racial minorities and that they are driven not by concerns about ballot integrity, but by racial animus.
Earlier this year, Holder cozied up to Al Sharpton at the annual convention of Sharpton’s National Action Network and praised him for “your partnership, your friendship, and your tireless efforts to speak out for the voiceless, to stand up for the powerless, and to shine a light on the problems we must solve and the promise we must fulfill.”
Holder’s next major salvo was in late May, when he addressed the Council of Black Churches. He pulled no punches, telling the black church leaders that their right to vote was under assault nationwide and claiming voter ID laws could keep minorities from casting ballots in the 2012 presidential election.
The absurdity of Holder’s arguments about the disproportionate unfairness of voter ID laws is revealed by this one fact: no one can enter Eric Holder’s Justice Department building in Washington, D.C., without presenting … a photo ID.
Luckily, most of us don’t often find ourselves trying to enter the Justice Department, but we do need to show a photo ID to get into almost any court or government building, as well as for all sorts of routine daily activities like making a bank deposit, buying a plane ticket or boarding a flight, checking into a hotel or motel, or buying an item with a credit card. Sensible people don’t believe they’ve faced discrimination when asked to produce ID in any of these circumstances. A polling place is perhaps one of the most important places to have you prove that you are who you say you are.
In order to limit voter fraud, nine states require a photo ID before voting and eighteen others allow a non-photo form of ID. Holder has used the Voting Rights Act to stop the implementation of voter ID requirements in Texas and South Carolina. Nonetheless, a Fox News opinion survey showed that 52 percent of Democrats, 87 percent of Republicans, and 78 percent of independents are in favor of voter ID laws.
While the Supreme Court upheld voter ID in a different context, Holder is on a crusade against it. In 2008 the Supreme Court ruled on Indiana’s voter ID law and a six-member majority upheld that state’s law, saying that Indiana’s law was not an undue burden under the Voting Rights Act and the Constitution.
Holder hasn’t acted alone. Other Democrats and Obama campaign surrogates have joined the attack. Among them is DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz. In an interview with CNN’s Roland Martin, she argued that voter ID laws are an indication that Republicans want to drag the nation back to the days of Jim Crow laws. Democrat Congressman Jerrold Nadler said photo ID laws are a “deliberate plot by conservative Republicans to suppress votes.”
In one of the more outrageous moves last year, the NAACP delivered a petition to the United Nations seeking that organization’s help in investigating voting abuses in the United States. They argued that voter ID laws are a conscious effort to strip blacks and other minority groups of the right to vote. This, like almost nothing else, showed how this once-proud civil rights group is completely irrelevant and long past its glory days.
The NAACP supported the dismissal of charges by Holder’s DOJ against two members of the New Black Panther party who stood outside a Philadelphia polling place in 2008 taunting white voters — with one wielding a nightstick. This case led to accusations that the DOJ under Obama and Holder is biased against white victims of voting rights abuses, preferring only to pursue cases involving black or other minority victims.
Much of this flap over voter ID laws might be easily dismissed if the people making claims about voter ID laws were outliers and kooky fringe activists. However, in addition to well-known Democratic Party operatives and civil rights leaders, the key figure in this matter is the attorney general of the United States — the highest law enforcement official in the nation. Why is he lying to, scaring, and confusing black Americans about imaginary threats?
Although Holder’s views are mired deeply in leftist politics, he’s a sophisticated man who was once a leading attorney at a large and successful Washington, D.C., legal firm. He must know his claim — that Republican racial animus lurks behind voter ID laws — is a lie. This makes Holder’s cynicism all the more unforgivable.

Has anyone else noticed that Eric Holder looks about 7/8 white and only about 1/8 black? Or maybe it’s 7/8 white, 3/32 black and 1/32 Cherokee?
I’ve noticed that neither he nor Obama look anywhere near as white as Jeremiah Wright!
FeralCat, I hope you don’t but I’ve gone over your numbers and by-golly, I think your right! LOL.
Actually holder’s only half African American. His father was born in Barbados. So only half of his self righteous struggle should be called upon to relate to “his people.”
Then again Obama’s black half seems to always trump his white half when it comes to being the first “African American president.”
Then again Obama’s black half seems to always trump his white half when it comes to being the first “African American president.”
It never seems to bother him that his black half is not African-American at all. He has as much connection to Selma as George Bush has – absolutely none.
Why is my race always picked on? Why does everyone want to claim to be Native?
Why must you throw Cherokee in on Holder? Couldn’t you have said 1/32 Irish or something else?
Native Americans have much more pride and intelligence then to be ‘connected’ to someone like him.
I agree , and why is it they are always trumpeting African American issues . We have never had a Native American President . I take great pride in my ancestry and will state that our people have been much more repressed than any race in the history of America .
I presume you mean the “NATIVE???” Americans whose ancestors MIGRATED in to America via the Alaskan land bridge from ASIA. Do you Proud Patriot. Perhaps you would care to tell us how that makes YOU Natives and descendants of those who MIGRATED to America from Europe are NOT Natives.
well, I know I’m part “native american”, “first nations” “indian” or whatever the “correct” term is these days… and we happen to know it is of the Cherokee Nation in our ancestry.
Why are you picking on Cherokees? Couldn’t you have said something like 1/32 Irish or something else?
Why does it seems people want to claim to be Native? Has it suddenly become fashionable to be Native? My people would argue that point…
Natives have too much respect, pride and intelligence to be associated with someone like Holder…
I don’t believe it was meant as a slight to the Cherokee Nation. I think it was meant as a slam on Elizabeth Warren (http://ca.search.yahoo.com/search?p=warren%20native%20american&fr=inq-x)
Race? Race? Oh yeah, now I remember! (I knew that rang a Bell.)
———-
The nation could have known well in advance, back in 2007. That Derrick Bell tape was available. Obama’s syllabus from his UChi class was available. We (rhetorically) chose the Grecian columns, which everyone at the time knew were phoney as hell. The nation as a whole has no one to blame but itself.
The question is, did we learn a lesson?
Never underestimate the power of liberal guilt, or the joy of immersing oneself in the “primitive.” These psychological reasons are important to understanding Obama’s appeal among wealthy donors in 2008. I wrote about the subtle racism among progressive artists here: http://clarespark.com/2012/04/24/the-subtle-racism-of-edna-ferber-and-oscar-hammerstein-ii/.
IMHO, “liberal guilt” is too convenient. That’s it, in large part, but not all of it.
Why does the MSM control the news? Because (the rhetorical) “we” let it. Any adult who’s been around a few blocks can tell about a time or three when they’ve seen the news services twist and distort, no matter what that person’s political perspective. Still, we’re just too busy, or it’s too much trouble, to ask questions.
Then, when a 2008 happens, when warning flags wave in our peripheral vision, we think that maybe yes, we SHOULD question … but the habit’s too strong to break.
THAT’s the reason for Obama’s victory. Five percent in the center of the electorate asking questions, demanding answers as educated citizens will. That’s all it would have taken.
You’re not likely to find “liberal guilt” in the center. That only worked on the left, to take the primaries from Hillary.
I’ve taken MY stand on the MSM…. I swore off it about thirty years ago. Hardly ever read it. Other less biased sources are far more reliable. Part of that happend in result of mmy “happening” to be in Nicaragua twice… once during the Sandinista occupation, right when that guy Hassenfuss had been shot down running a C 30 full of arms for the Contras… I was staying about 20 miles away from where he was imprisoned just before his release. When I got home I saw the “news” on that story… in Nicaragua, I’d seen the english language la Prensa, the only paper of record giong anywhere near honesty in the nation (it was its then editor got assassinated that led to the rebellion and ouster of Somoza– seems Somoza didn’t like Pedro’s penchant for printing the truth, and “took care of it”). I also found Reuters to tell rather a different story than US MSM, which were also available there and then. Next time I happened to be there was right when CLinton was going through his little fling with that young cutie… and the coverup. The local press was making a real fun time of his “prevarication” and inability to figure out what the meanint of the word “is” is. Sandinista rule had ended, Pedro’s widow, who had run the paper after his murder, was then President, and a fine one she was. Comparing la Prensa’s coverage, and Reuters’, to US MSM was, well, amusing….. and enlightening. The contrast was striking. Hardly read a US paper since then. Why? And I CERTAINLY won’t give them any of MY money……. why feed the enemy? or the clowns?
Did anyone else happen to catch Chris Rock’s comments on aitch? (Digressing from Holder for a moment.) He said, “I’ll take the zebra. That’s what Obama is, 1/2 black, 1/2 white. ‘Course, we ignore the WHITE part!” (The interviewer, of course, ignored that comment.)
Any questions about your vote on November 6th?!
“The nation has seen more than a few odd attorneys general over the years.”
No kidding. Ramsey Clark was once Attorney General. Hard as that is to believe.
Yes, the famous suit to break up ITT was filed by Clark on the last working day of the Johnson Administration, 20 January 1969. Apparently in the hope that it would be an albatross around the neck of his replacement, John Mitchell.
As it turned out, Mitchell didn’t need any help in making a mess of things, anymore than his President, Nixon, did.
And of course, Clark went on to become the famous figure he is today. The peripatetic lover of any group or nation which hates the United States.
He’s one more reason I always wondered just exactly what they were smoking in LBJ’s White House. Let alone at his ranch in Texas.
cheers
eon
Ramsey (“slimeball”) Clark was also one of Saddam’s defense attorneys at some point.
I think Saddam fired him though.
Holder, Jones, Dunn, Jarrett, and on and on.
No one Obama appointed is anything less than a stale dangerous radical- cut off the serpent’s head: lose Obama and we lose them all.
November.
muddy Cross writes:
” …lose Obama and we lose them all.”
if only!
Obama and his ilk go underground, like Ayers and Jones and Holder. They infest schools, universities and government, all stewing in their racial resentments, allowing percieved slights to grow into hatreds that will not be satisfied until the United States is brought to her knees!
As the Rev Wright said: ” I don;t hate Farrakhan, he didn;t make me the color I am! ”
Their problem begins every morning when they look in the mirror to brush their teeth.
“He has also coyly claimed that his concerns about voter ID laws are that they will place an undue burden on elderly, young, student, low-income, and minority voters. Yet most speeches given by Holder on this issue have been in front of largely black audiences.”
Yet these same people get passports and a driver’s license. We are talking about people 18 years and older (the age you have to be to vote) and if they can’t get a voter I.D. card, then they are too stupid or too lazy to get a passport or a driver’s license. But these same people never, ever, seem to have any problems getting other forms of identification. There is no reason on earth why EVERYBODY is not required to show some form of identification before voting. Heck, they even require young people to show identification before going into a bar, yet they don’t have to show I.D. to vote? Give me a break. All young and old people of voting age can get an I.D. card, if they don’t have one already in the form of a driver’s license or a passport. This is just Holder’s way of allowing illegals to vote as well as people from ACORN to illegally vote multiple times. This must stop and Holder must go.
I’m 61 and look it, yet I ALWAYS have to show my DL when buying alcohol. I fail to see how proving one’s eligible voting eligibility is any less important.
Does one need a photo ID to cash a welfare check?
Between Obama and Holder, race relations have been set back a generation. The country has grown tired of clowns such as Sharpton and Jackson bleating ‘racist, racist’ at every opportunity. The country has grown tired of the incessant drumbeat of alleged race based grievances; tired of the narrow view that any criticism of a person of color defines you as a racist; tired of the rantings of the Wrights and the Farrakhans. The Civil Rights movement has devolved into an extortion racket. Its’ leaders should be made aware that they are losing support among the greater population. Obama, and his stalking horse, Holder are playing with fire. There will be a reckoning.
A zero tolerance policy on the requirement to show a photo id for the sale of alcohol did not seem to deter minorities from purchasing that product when I lived in Chicago.
Nor was it any great burden to obtain a photo ID for my 90+ year old mother when she misplaced her old one. The worker at the Minnesota DVM didn’t even charge me for the service when I took her to their facility even though she was far from indigent.
Before leaving office next January, President Barack Hussien Obama will probably give Holder a presidential pardon. While he’s at it, he might as well pardon the fat lady who runs the EPA.
Please be more judicious in your use of the term, “lady”.
Simply being biologically female does not equate to being a lady, and I have a hard time believing that anyone appointed by, or even voluntarily associated with, Barack Obama, merits the use of that honorific.
Sorry. Let’s give this a try: he might as well pardon the fat, gender-neutral, non-specific sexually-oriented, entity who runs the EPA.
Much better. Thank you. I appreciate the sensitivy, and horour, in maitaining a high standard when applying the term “lady”. The referenced specimens fail to rise to the high standard required for the application of the term.
This administration is full of lies, liars, and frauds from top to bottom! In every democratic country on this earth, voters are required to show some ID to prove they are eligible to vote and to think this requirement should be in in the bastion of democracy is unimaginable.
Only liars and cheaters of this administration would work against the voter ID laws to perpetuate their fraud!!
Correction:
This administration is full of lies, liars, and frauds from top to bottom! In every democratic country on this earth, voters are required to show some ID to prove they are eligible to vote as a citizen and to think this requirement should not be in the bastion of democracy is unimaginable.
Only liars and cheaters of this administration would work against the voter ID laws to perpetuate their fraud!!
This wouldn’t even be a problem if there wasn’t such voter apathy in this country. About 70% of the people eligible to register to vote, register. Of those registered only about 55% vote. We are talking about hundreds of thousands (even millions) of people not voting who could be.
1. It’s a problem regardless of how many people vote.
2. Apathetic and uninformed people voting is NOT a good thing.
Right-o. It should also be illegal for Dems to bus lazy ignoramuses to voting places, tell them to vote Dem, then feed them their promised meal. Anyone who will only vote if bribed and chauffeured around is too lazy and probably too stupid to deserve to be able to cancel out my vote, or all of yours, or any other American who is at least independent enough to register and get to their precinct on their own.
Obama Administration = a rogues’ gallery of radical scoundrelly scum.
Better would be… Confederacy of Dunces
There are 13 million border crashers in this nation. NONE of them are African-American…since, none of them are American.
Voter fraud, because of INTENT to defraud by ACORN/SEIU tactics, is now a real problem in this country.
However, the photo ID and eligibility protection of the…you know…actual citizens of this country, does not have any impact on the ability of black citizens to vote. At all.
Eric Holder is not only playing a race card, he is playing a propaganda and lies card.
This small c communist regime will stop at nothing, there is nothing beneath which they will not stoop. There is no slander they will not utter, there is no lie they will not tell, there is no law they will not break, there is no founding document they will not trample.
They don’t like this country, they don’t like its Constitution, they do not like the majority of its people, they do not like its allies, they do not like its military, they do not like its economic system and they do not like its rules, regulations and laws.
To have the enemies of our armed forces leading them and the enemies of our Constitution protecting it is beyond irony. Eric Holder is a disgrace. And our Constitution is in peril.
“Barack Obama and Eric Holder had the opportunity to help steer the nation toward race-neutral policies — perhaps into a post-racial era. Instead, the first black president has often dabbled…”
“Dabbled?” How about using it as the tip of the sword. Both have used race as the means to get things done and to insulate themselves from criticism.
“However, this served as a lead-in to Holder’s reprehensible campaign to convince black Americans that their voting rights are under deliberate attack from “Republican-initiated” voter identification laws. Since last year, Holder has been on a tear, delivering this message to black audiences all across the country.”
If blacks eat at this trough of lies then they deserve every ruinous thing that has hsppened to them.
“This divisive campaign has emerged on a short list of the Obama administration’s reelection tactics. Some other tactics are the claim that Republicans are waging a war on women and the class-warfare argument that wealthy Americans and Wall Street investment firms are getting richer on the backs of the 99 percent.”
What else do they have to run on.
“He has also coyly claimed that his concerns about voter ID laws are that they will place an undue burden on elderly, young, student, low-income, and minority voters. Yet most speeches given by Holder on this issue have been in front of largely black audiences.”
Because except for progressvie whites who own him, Americans do not accept his lies. Only the dull of mind and spirit believe him and Dear Leader.
Striking to my mind among the stats in the article showing the percentages of people approving of voter ID laws, that of the Democrats is the lowest. I suppose it’s safe to assume that these folks are more comfortable with voter fraud than either the Pubs or the Indies. Surprise (not).
Eric Holder is simply dense, dumber than a box of rocks, even.
ASIF being willing to serve as Bill Clinton’s fixer in the Mark Rich pardon weren’t enough, Holder declaring Americans to be “cowards” on race at the outset of his current gig should have clinched the deal on the subject of his idiocy.
Or you could look at all the moves he’s made as AG, including but not limited to self-righteous insistence on civilian trials for Islamic slaughterers or not enforcing the Voting Rights Act against the New Black Panthers and then citing that very law in challenging Florida’s attempt to clean up its voter rolls.
Hey Eric, you don’t get to pick and choose when to enforce what as a function of your personal bias. Capiche ? (no, I don’t think so)
Stupidity, it happens, in all varieties and shades of melanin in the skin.
Mr. Holder spoke in Austin TX last fall at UT. Same diatribe about voter ID’s being racist. Of course, everyone who was able to get into the theater to hear him speak had to produce a photo ID, but, the Irony Police had taken the day off and didn’t catch that.
Fix the problem at the root and organise a civil rights drive or otherwise harass the govt into making sure that every US citizen has an ID and can vote and have their freedom to visit and conduct business everywhere (govt. building included) and other such essential rights.
A worse ideologue, than the “Present Leader,” but, he really practiced law. What does that say about our education system, well it says more about our higher learning, we have affirmatived and EOE’d enough, no?
I think a number Obama’s political and leadership “sins” could be forgiven over time whether he is in office for one or two terms. The economy and foreign policy errors, his lack of leadership, and all the issues but one can be corrected in time.
The cardinal “sin” I feel that should never be forgiven was the golden opportunity Obama had (as an amateur in training) to unite this country racially, politically, and dare I say it, heal old wounds between races. He was in the perfect time, the perfect place in the history of our nation to do.
Instead, he has taken every opportunity, at every turn, every speech, every chance to do exactly the opposite to divide this country by race, economic status, creed, and gender.
For that alone he should be damned in history and in our minds and hearts.
Racism is all MyPeeps and Precious Token have or have ever had. Each of them made only one career decision in their life–the decision to become Professional Blacks. It is the only real job either one of them has ever worked at (as opposed to showing up once in awhile and cashing checks)…..
if either of them, holder or obama, could be kukluxers they would be. both of them fighting for grand dragon status. the only difference being black pointy hats in place of white pointy hats.
race haters are all the same. they share a tiny brain, too small to include a frontal cortex. they are the same as jew haters and this haters and that haters.
holder, in particular, makes my skin creep. he doesn’t even have the grace to hide his disgusting hatred of whites, nor his enabling of any black crawling thing that calls itself an “organization”.
obama, is so way over his head, i don’t think we can stay alive if he gets voted back in, especially with that gang that surrounds him. they ought to ship out to an african country where their thirst for tribal warfare and incendiary hatreds would be of great comfort to them all.
ugh.
Curiously, an ID card would be required for access to Obama’s health care plan.
Obama must be racist. It’s clearly a deliberate plot by Democrats to suppress access to health care.
Well, Joe Hicks, I’m glad to see that you are alive! I’ve missed your videos!
I, too, feel the vacuum that has been created by Joe Hicks’ absence from PJTV. His clear and concise analyses of political issues and trends lent unparalleled class and serious journalistic style to the PJTV network.
PJTV management and financail backers — are you listening?
President Wilson & President Obama are almost identicle in the disposition. Wilson was a racist marxist(Anti-Christ) who hated blacks & Obama is a racist Marxist President who hates whites, women included, even his own mother, which is the actual irony! Just saying…
Why is he lying to, scaring, and confusing black Americans about imaginary threats?
This must be a rhetorical question.
BO and HOLDER are both looking for the same thing. The New Black Panthers and the J. Jackson’s and the A. Sharpton’s and the Farrakhan’s they all want unrest in the streets this summer so martial law can be called, starting with NYC, Philly, Los Angles, and maybe Chicago. This is the new look of the KKK. No the white but the black. The rhetoric is the same regardless of who is speaking the hate.
Barack Obama and Eric Holder had the opportunity to help steer the nation toward race-neutral policies — perhaps into a post-racial era.
For a post-racial America it would be necessary to repeal laws and policies that require racial discrimination in the employment and education markets. Affirmative Action explicitly requires racial discrimination, and EEO, a good law in its text, has progressively devolved into also requiring racial discrimination. Both have the force of law, as in federal court.
Barack and Eric will never touch those two things. Nor will Mitt, but that’s a different story. All three are Ivy League Men. What, do they lobotomize people when they matriculate into the Ivy League colleges? Sometimes I wonder if these revered seats of highest learning and greatest esteem are actually cachet peddling prestige diploma puppy mills that turn out important, and self-important, dumbasses.
There is only one possible motive for stopping Florida from cleaning up its voter lists from preventing Arizona from arresting ILLEGAL immigrants and for preventing voter photo ID being implemented and that is to FACILITATE FRAUD.
We know what it is virtually ONLY the Dems who benefit from illegal and DEAD voters.
While we are on the subject why is it considered RACIST to ask for voter ID and to purge ILLEGAL and DEAD voters? Surely the REAL Racism lies in the one that accuses it of being Racism as they PRESUME that all the ILLEGAL and DEAD voters and voters who are too STUPID to be able to get a photo ID must be Black or Hispanic. Now THAT is real RACISM.
obozo, our clown in chief, and first White black boy to “occupy” the White House, and his court jester Holder, have to go.
And from where I sit, removing them from office would only be the start, and the investigations into Holder should continue even after he is out of office. See how the stonewalling will go when the new head AG turns over the documents and doesn’t give black pages after redaction.
If Holder and Obama and their cohorts think voter ID laws are intended to prevent blacks from voting, what would they think if one state or another re-instated the old ‘pauper acts’, which required (1) a written sworn pauper’s oath in order to receive public assistance; and, (2) from the date of such oath, the affiant is ineligible to vote in local, state or national elections? (And before you jump and shout and yell, such laws were on the books in every state in the nation, to prevent exactly what has happened in our more modern and ‘progressive’ times: and that is that 50.1% of the voters discovered the politicians will vote for more welfare for them, if they will vote faithfully for those politicians.) If you got the name, might as well have the game, eh? But I’m a white racist SOB, so don’t pay no attention to me.
When will the republicans stand up to refuse appointees like those of Holder’s ilk or Kagan as well? When we have elected enough representatives and senators that reflect the TEA party mentality, little by little it will happen
would someone please print/release the hiring record of this DOJ under Reichsmarshall Holder and contrast it with other administrations of both sides
Holder’s propaganda is a _liberal_ aimed scam to hide the fact that Democrats want the votes of Hispanic illegals, which voter ID laws prevent. Stupid blacks will fall for it, stupid whites will fall for it; no smart person of any color will buy the scam. Too bad the latter demographic is the real minority in the American welfare state.
