Social Justice: The leftists who studied Education, Political Science, and Women's Black Lesbian Studies get higher pay than those who studied Science, Mathematics, Engineering, and Law.

After all, they first group want it so very much, and it would be good for their self esteem.

People who use the term "social justice" should define what they mean by the phrase but in my experience they never do. It seems to imply that lots of people are stuck with an unfair lot in life -- in terms of money, achievement, and status -- by a social order stacked against them. Victims of external forces and powerless against them. Is the idea basically Marxist? Rewards should not vary with effort, achievement, talent, behavior, and values but rather be spread around more or less evenly? What the heck is it?

Most young people won't choose a school that teaches hopelessness.

Young people don't choose their schools. Their parents do. Parents might ask kids what they want, but ultimately and for the most part, it is the parents' choice.

What ever happened to...you know, schools where the students learned valuable skills? Like reading, writing (English), history, civics (social action?), mathematics?
