Dems Release False Report on Fast and Furious
Ranking Member Elijah Cummings and other Democrats in the minority of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee have made an attempt to whitewash apparent felonies committed by the Department of Justice during Operation Fast and Furious:
Democrats looking into Operation Fast and Furious say a yearlong investigation has turned up no evidence that the flawed gun smuggling probe was conceived or directed by high-level political appointees at Justice Department headquarters.
The probe, the Democrats say, was just one of four such operations that were part of a misguided five-year-long effort, during both the George W. Bush and Obama administrations, in the Phoenix division of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives against firearms trafficking along the Southwest border.
“Operation Fast and Furious was the latest in a series of fatally flawed operations run by ATF agents in Phoenix and the Arizona U.S. Attorney’s Office,” the report from Democrats on the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee says.
Senator Charles Grassley, who has helped lead the investigation of the gunwalking plot, reacted angrily to the minority report:
The idea that senior political appointees have clean hands in these gunwalking scandals doesn’t pass the laugh test, especially considering we’ve seen less than 10 percent of the pages that the Justice Department has provided the Inspector General. They ignored the warning signs and failed to put a stop to it or hold anyone accountable. Lanny Breuer is a senior political appointee, and he admits to knowing about gunwalking as early as April 2010. Documents turned over late Friday night indicate he was still discussing plans to let guns cross the border with Mexican officials on the same day the Department denied to me in writing that ATF would ever let guns walk. He stood mute as this administration fought tooth and nail to keep any of this information from coming out for a year. It will take a lot more than a knee-jerk defense from their political allies in Congress to restore public trust in the leadership of the Justice Department. The American people want to see those who failed to act be held accountable.
What Cummings and his political allies intentionally avoided in their report is that the three other operations were not gunwalking operations. They were interdiction efforts that involved small-scale controlled buys done in conjunction with Mexican law enforcement. These operations were designed to lead to the arrest of straw purchasers and gun smugglers, and resulted in relatively quick arrests after smaller weapons shipments were transferred. Furthermore, the weapons were interdicted either before they left the United States, or by Mexican authorities lying in wait on the other side of the border.
Operation Fast and Furious was conducted after the ATF determined that the tactics used in these operations during the Bush administration were too risky to continue.
But instead of modifying the failed parts of the previous efforts, the Eric Holder Department of Justice instigated an entirely different and purposefully deadly plot. They introduced a gunwalking operation that moved thousands of weapons without the permission or cooperation of Mexican authorities. It is more accurately described as a DOJ-sanctioned gun-smuggling plot to arm the Sinaloa cartel.
Mexican authorities were purposefully deceived by the Justice Department. To maintain the secrecy of the plot and to avoid tipping off Mexican authorities, ATF liaisons working with the Mexican government were lied to about the operation by their supervisors.
The plot actually prevented federal agents from making arrests. In one particularly telling incident, the ATF’s Bill Newell forced John Dodson, an ATF agent, to provide the weapons to a gun smuggler with his own hands in order to “dirty him up” in hopes he wouldn’t reveal the plot he was vocally criticizing to his superiors.
We know from documentation that Newell had direct conversations with personnel in the White House’s National Security Council about Operation Fast and Furious.
We know that U.S. Attorney for Arizona Dennis Burke, who was responsible for overseeing the program for the Department of Justice, was the architect of Democrat gun-banning schemes dating back 23 years, including the 1994 “assault weapons ban” that sunset in 2004.
Burke’s deputy Patrick Cunningham, chief of the Criminal Division of the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Arizona, invoked his Fifth Amendment rights to avoid testifying against himself, fearing criminal prosecution for his role in the gunwalking plot.
Can these dems be any more disgraceful than they appear now? The black caucus is a laughing stock and until they are replaced by men with the character and honesty of a Walter Williams or Thomas Sowell, there never will be any respect for them.
Nope! But the CBC can get as stupid as they have to in order to stay in office, push the white progressive agenda, support marxism, incite racial strife, ignore or obviate that dreaded document the Constitution, and deprive black Americans of the chance to reach the American dream.
The combined IQ of the CBC is under room temperature or put another way, in the memorable words of Wanda, “I’ve worn dresses with higher IQs,” than the members of the CBC.
Who was that idiot member of the CBC / rep out of GA who voiced concern to a General in a House hearing that adding US Marines to the island of Guam may add sufficient weight and cause it to tip over? Also recall the CBC returning from Cuba hosted by Castro extolling how awesome if is down there. Or Maxine Waters rallying against anyone who dare mention there was problem with Fannie Mae / Freddie Mac. Bunch of brain dead schmucks.

ooo, I know, Operation Fast and Furious came about a lot like Life began with Evolution. First, a person started to create a memo, but messed up, and toss it aside. Then it blew into the hallway. Then an unwitting janitor picked it up and tacked it to the board, as a tack was on the ground he suspected it had fallen off. Then someone saw the unfinished memo, and went to inquire the originator, but that person had died that afternoon – car accident. That person decided to finish the memo after perusing the deceased’s office space as to how to concisely finish the memo based on their most recent work – they were on the same assignment. Okay, so then that guy gets all liquored up before he writes this thing, and decides cleverly that he will simply give an affirmative to whomever it was addressing. Unbeknownst to him, and Eric Holder I might add, that affirmation gave a green light to a suggestion from some hair-brained hick agent in Arizona that letting guns go across the border into Mexico without subsequent apprehension might be workable, if approved. This is sort of like how a proto-cell engulfed some other entity, and that little meal became that protocell’s mitochondria, or something. Happens everyday, folks. On and on it goes – some monkey falls out of a tree and hits his head, dreams up a flux copacitor, it’s no coincidence – know what I mean? If it wasn’t for Evolution I might have never used my imagination to figure it all out, and subsequently realize it was all true. And we should never let our assumptions get the best of us, especially when a fine grown-up like gun-kissing, Constitution-loving Eric Holder’s whole franchise is on the line.
Oh, the hick Arizona agent, janitor, and the memo-rewriter both died in car accidents. They must have been car-pooling, because three people in such close proximatey, dying in the same way, what are the chances of that?
Considering we now have new anti-terror laws on the book that allow for drone vaporization of John Q. Public, can’t the military go kick in some doors and water board a few of these idiots and get to the bottom of this? The Democrats are rallying behind Holder to throw the ATF street agents under the bus. This is disgraceful. As a retired DEA agent, I can tell you no street agent or even field supervisor would have dreamed up this scheme. Even so, it would have had to be approved at the highest levels of DOJ.
What has happened to the Justice Department I once worked proudly for?
It has become totally radically and politically corrupted by the left. The DOJ needs to be defunded and let the states handle crime and civil rights (another misnamed dept that should read Black’s Rights Only). Fold the ATF, DEA and FBI into the DOD.
It is impossible to comprehend the anguish that honorable law enforcement officers feel, knowing with some certainly that their executives facilitated the killing of a fellow officer. How do you receive a life time award from a person you strongly suspect may be an accomplice to murder? The only way to hold on to sanity is to know that they do not have the common sense to tie their shoe.
And you have company. When party trumps loyalty to the nation; when you defend the indefensible, at some point, you must consider why you get up in the morning. What does it mean to be an American Congressman? Or Attorney General?

If, as is claimed, Obama’s Operation Fast and Furious was similar in nature and intent to Bush’s Operation Gunwalker, then the technical failings of Bush’s program would surely have been evaluated and alternative means of conducting surveillance of guns and initial and subsequent purchasers.
Following the cancellation of the Bush program, when the targets of surveillance evolved techniques for neutralising tracking mechanisms, no effort appears to have been documented describing alternative tracking mechanisms for guns and suspected criminals, in Obama’s Operation Fast and Furious.
Surely, implementing a supposedly similar program would have required very senior authorisation, in view of the known failings of the earlier program.
Without surveillance being continuously maintained, as attempted in the Bush program, the only apparent objective was to recover provably US supplied guns at murder scenes in Mexico.
If the purpose of the program had indeed been one of legitimate law enforcement, then its association with large scale murder would have led to its being immediately halted, after the discovery of the first associated murder. Its continuance subsequent to that surely implicates all its operatives as accessories to murder. Nuremburg established that “I was only following orders” is not a valid defence.
Although not publicised, the types of guns ‘walked’ are not the weapons of choice of most Mexican narco-terrorists. They are, however, mainly of the types which Obama, Clinton frequently demonise.
Obama and Clinton and Holder and Napatolino have all publicly claimed that 90% of the murders in Mexico are committed using guns supplied by US gun-shops.
The actual proportion is closer to 8%.
The 90% figure, which they know to be false, is claimed as justification for promoting legislation to restrict the right to bear arms for self defence.
It should be noted that Obama rejects the claim that individuals have any right to defend themselves from criminal attack.
The ruthlessness of Obama and Clinton should not be underestimated.
Effectively, they have engaged in an advertising campaign to promote legislation restricting or abolishing the right to bear arms. An advertising campaign consisting of known lies and actual mass murder.
700 Fast and Furious weapons recovered are associated with more than 300 murders. Ignoring any murders committed where the weapon was not recovered, the remaining 1700 Fast and Furious weapons will probably be recovered from another 750 or so murders.
Their ostensibly noble objective of preventing honest people from acquiring legal firearms will be accomplished by establishing a sufficiently large body count to enrage the public. The victims are mere collateral damage.

I mean exposure to water in varying degrees would eliminate the pruning effect that concerns so many as they are being ‘treated’.
If we could look at ‘boarding’ as a skin enrichment program and stress not only the flushing of the mind but emphasize the renovation of the facial tissues. With this approach I feel that the U.S. Secretary of State would be the ideal ‘first in line’ to be ’water boarded’!
The Clinton woman would benefit greatly from relieving her mind of pent up untruths and I am sure that anything that could freshen up her face would be appreciated all who view her – if only we could add refreshing of the hair style to this effort – it would be complete!

I stand corrected. I am not a US citizen. I had read this, recently, but had forgotten.
I follow US politics because I think that western civilization stands or falls with America. Other British and Europeans seem to prefer to support the enemies of their own civilization, without considering what kind of world their children will live in.

Plain and simple if the reports determine that there was indeed illegality afoot and that the leadership of the justice department knew it was happening. Then take legal action to remove everyone from their position. If Dems in congress are in deed trying to cover up the misdeeds then file not only ethics charges but criminal obstruction charges against every member of congress involved in the cover up.

Holder, Obama and all their cronies have been caught with their fingers in the cookie jar, for Fast & Furious. I just wonder how many OTHER secret projects have been created that we DON’T know about. Maybe DOJ gave nukes to Cuba and want them to nuke Miami so Obama can give up control of the U.S. to the U.N. before anything else got nuked.
I wonder how Eric Holder, and Barack Obama can sleep at night, knowing they murdered innocent people? Why haven’t we heard much from the Mexican President Felipe Calderón on this subject? He can come here and call the citizens of the USA heartless, because we want all illegals removed from the US., but nothing on the way the W.H. and DOJ sent guns into his country that has killed over 600 people so far. He bashes the American citizenry, with his hands open wide for our tax dollars. Yet if we go down to his country without a passport we are jailed. Obama and Eric Holder need to be prosecuted to the fullest extent. America is due a very big appology from these SOB’s, as they walk into one of FEMA camps they have built up around America. Maybe we can use the military to arrest them, take them to another country, where no one will ever see them again.
