Commander in Chief Fails Military Voters, Again
Our armed forces need a commander in chief who protects the most basic right of every American citizen — the right to vote. Our armed forces risk their safety and their lives to protect each citizen’s right to vote. The president needs to protect theirs.
Obama and his attorney general are responsible for the protection of military voting rights, yet they have stood idly by while our troops have been disenfranchised.
Overseas military voters need ballots sent to them in time so they have the opportunity to vote and to return their ballots. However, various jurisdictions have failed to comply with federal law deadlines to mail the ballots.
Attorney General Eric Holder has been contacted by concerned citizens as well as by senators on the Judiciary Committee urging the Department of Justice to file lawsuits against local authorities across the country that have not sent military ballots in time for servicemembers’ votes to count. Despite receiving this information, the Department of Justice has failed to act in many states, including New Mexico and Connecticut.
Since lawsuits were not filed by our Department of Justice, others outraged by the disenfranchisement of the military have stepped in. Michigan Secretary of State Ruth Johnson and Attorney General Bill Schuette filed a lawsuit against 24 local communities to extend the counting deadline for military ballots. Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign filed a federal lawsuit in Wisconsin, and filed complaints with state election officials in Michigan and Mississippi.
After the Romney campaign filed a complaint in Vermont, the Obama administration followed with a lawsuit in the Green Mountain State claiming an interest in helping military voters. It is, indeed, interesting that the administration chose to institute legal action in a state dominated by Democrats, but not in other, more populous states with greater majorities of Republicans and independents.
Why they did not intercede in crucial swing states such as Michigan or Wisconsin?
Ignoring military voters has unfortunately become a pattern for Obama and his administration. Instead of pursuing cases in Illinois and New York in 2010, the Department of Justice instead focused 2012 efforts on the small territory of Guam.
In addition, the Obama administration’s Department of Defense Federal Voting Assistance Program’s priorities are not in order and are dysfunctional. An inspector general’s report indicated that many military voting assistance offices were not available. Under public pressure, Defense Secretary Panetta requested a review of the offices, but more than a week has passed after the review reached Panetta’s desk and nothing has changed.
When does Obama actually file a lawsuit? Obama for America along with the Democrat Party took legal action to oppose the efforts to have extended hours for military voters’ ballots to count in Ohio. And this action was taken with extreme urgency to make sure it was applicable in the 2012 election for the critical Buckeye State.
Obama is the president of the entire United States and all its citizens. Holder is chief law enforcement officer at the United States Department of Justice. Their adherence to and protection of constitutional rights should not be limited to those states where polls indicate Obama will win on Election Day. The commander in chief and attorney general should defend the voting rights of all Americans, no matter for whom they cast a ballot.
When a servicemember is willing to make the ultimate sacrifice for his country, his commander and general must protect his most basic constitutional right — the right to vote. If not, self-interested leaders stationed in Washington, D.C., must be relieved of their duties.

Why is anyone shocked, at any vile act perpetrated by this regime, and most especially towards the military? His disdain for the military – the symbol of U.S. hyper power – has been in his cross hairs from the onset.

But we can’t expect a subversive to love our Warriors.
The subversives that have occupied the media, the universities and now the central administration of the Republic had to work their way through the decades to subvert the Republic from inside quite because our Warriors would instantly defeat any effort of overt subversion.
Therefore our Military Forces, to the eyes of the subversives, are the enemy.
And our Warriors know that and would vote accordingly.

If there is one thing that the last four years have proven it is that Obama is interested in one thing and one thing only – Obama. He has absolutely no interest in the United States and it’s citizens, except insofar as they worship him. And Holder is his chief thug.
If there was any justice at all, both would have long since been impeached and confined “for the rest of their natural lives”.
It’s interesting to note that before the Dem Congress created a Pentagon office to oversee military voting in 2009, the military had never had a problem voting before. Even during the civil war, the most divided and disrupted this nation has ever been by any standard, the military voted (overwhelmingly for Lincoln) without a hitch. All of a sudden, a government office set up specifically to ensure that the military votes were facilitated and counted can’t find its ass with both hands and manages to substantively and substantially PREVENT the military form voting. Oh, did I mention that for the last 40+ years that the Dems have recast themselves as the Peace-At-Any-Price party, and since that happy day the military traditionally supports Republicans? So here we have an office created specifically by the most partisan, anti-Republican Congressional session since perhaps the days of slavery that apparently has actively interfered with the ability of service personnel to vote. Could there POSSIBLY be a connection? My motto ususallly is, “Do no attribute to malice that which may be explained by stupidity.” However, this just has too many coincidences that break in the Dems’ favor for stupidity to be the explanation.
Once is an incident.
Twice is coincidence.
Three (or more) times is enemy action.
There has been a purposeful and methodical effort to suppress the military vote ahead of this particular election … because no military man or woman in his/her right mind would vote for Obama; and the Dems know it. It’s just another voter fraud staring us in the face.
The military is mostly conservitive. A BLT Marxist would not want them to vote.
Now that the military is making it Honorable to push poop, there will be more, and more individuals that vote agaonst conservitives.
It isn’t bad enough that the military has that SOB job fighting the war on terror, they also have to fight against that dirtbag POTUS and his friggin’ henchman Holder. If they do extend voting in the Sandy-affected areas they better damned well extend voting for the military.
War on women… HA! There IS a war on the military and it is coming right out of the white house.
It’s simple transparency, The Obama administration and the DNC do not want Romney to win. We all know by now that the military leans republican. It is truly a trajedy that we have elected and appointed leaders who have no integrity.
It is part of the fraud. Remember that in Bush/Gore, the Dems were trying to throw out the military vote. The military usually votes GOP, as a whole, and this attempt to neutralize them has apparantly been successful. Soros’ think tank has recommended reducing benefits for the military. They needed to be able to vote.
Benghazi Barrack has purposefully has denied our military a vote. He knows he is a failure and is doing everything he can to win, no matter how low he has to stoop.
The problem is simple, those committing the crimes are not on the hook. If the county clerk who failed to perform his/her duty found themselves facing say a mandatory minimum of 10 yrs in prison and say $10K per incident, with no possibility of pardon, would the ballots get to the troops?
I agree. This nation has a serious problem with official accountability. As you say, it reaches deeply into the very heart of local politics and it subverts our national politics. A colleague and I used to talk about politics a lot. One day he asked me why I was so focused on foreign affairs, defense, and national politics. I guess to drive home his point, he asked me quite sincerely, “Wouldn’t you rather be screwed by people you know than people you don’t know?” There you have it. Local politics in a nutshell: getting screwed by people you know.
Our divider in chief and his puppets have proven time and time again they have no interest in protecting our country’s citizens or its constitution. Regardless if the number of votes cast or not cast by our military would make any difference, in this case, it’s the “thought” to deny them that disgusts. Our fearless leader will do ANYTHING to win. Lie, deceive, steal, what ever it takes.

I can’t believe all the hatred in this country ever since obama stepped on the campaign plate. The dumbest people talk on main stream media, while spitting out hate, arrogance, stupidity, and the lies. I’m not sure how any of them, and not just msm, can look at themselves everyday in the mirror without becoming sick from all the hatred they carry.
They don’t even realize how Obama & Company are only using them and when they are no longer needed will be tossed out with the daily garbage. Will our fellow Americans realize this on Tuesday or continue to believe in the lies while jingling the “Change” left in their pockets.

Surely this voting problem has an easy fix. Why doesn’t the Federal Election Commission issue a voting ID? It does not have to constitute as a “valid ID” but it could function as a proof of citizenship. I know there are a lot of people suspicious of a national ID card but it just seems to me that safeguarding the voting process is as if not more important. And this process should begin on November 7th. That would eliminate the typical bullshit that occurs during the midterm and presidential elections.
Mexico, which doesn’t have a sterling election process DOES have Federal Voting IDs. And you can be sure that votes are bought and sold like hot tortillas BUT that card that is swiped to confirm an individual vote is swiped at the voting booth. And not on an absentee or early voting ballot.
Or am I dreaming?
Voting is not a right; it is a legally qualified privilege. If it were a right, babies and felons would be enfranchised.
The notion that the franchise is a “right” has done a lot of damage to our political lexicon. Quite a number of the specious “rights” trumpeted today have their origin in the promotion of the notion that the vote is a “right.”
All that having been said, for the executive to disenfranchise our military, whether by act or by omission, is beneath contempt: yet another demonstration of why Barack Hussein Obama is unfit to be president.
The Republicans (hopefully Conservatives) have a REAL chance to increase their House seats and take over the Senate by several seats.
