Chris Christie to the Greedy Public Sector: ‘Let Me Help You Pack’
Today’s moment of conservative zen comes from New Jersey, where Gov. Chris Christie is taking on the greedy public sector fat cats head on.
About the only thing that could make that clip any better would be a few uses of the word “jackwagon.” But we’ll let that slide.
For a little background, go here:
The day before the meeting Seitz is quoted in the Daily Record as saying, “Because of the proposed salary caps, I have to look at my future and the financial welfare of my family. I certainly would have options if I didn’t feel the compensation in this district, or New Jersey, is appropriate.”
The governor reacted to Seitz’s veiled threats to leave New Jersey and go to a nearby state where there is no state salary. “I will say in response to Mr. Seitz, ‘Let me help you pack.’ We have real problems in our state that we have to fix and we don’t have the time, nor the money, nor the patience any longer for people who put themselves before our citizens,” Christie railed.
Christie is brilliant to individualize the issue by making an example of Seitz. The fact is, public sector salaries have gotten out of control and the educational system is a prime example. And the problem isn’t unique to New Jersey by any means. For starters, 7 of the top 10 richest counties in the United States surround — literally — Washington, D.C. That’s no coincidence. And taxpayer money is increasingly being used for lobbying — to spend more taxpayer money. Is it any wonder that our country is in the mess it’s in?
As for educational salaries, I’ll see Christie’s Lee Seitz, and raise him a Jesus Chavez.

NJ has Christie as governor, and CA has Moonbeam.
From now on, all “Jersey” jokes are now “California” jokes.
For the first time in my life I’m envious of the Garden State. You know, we contract out prisoner-care. Any chance we could contract out moonbeam-care too?
Christie was out there campaigning for Whitman (hey, I that sounded funny, and then I realized — our last GOP Governor was named Christie Whitman!) and it obviously did not do much good.
Your state is a goner.
By 2050, it will be La Republica del California, o el Estado del California Norte. The demographics and migration patterns of the state make that a foregone conclusion, just as by 2050, France will be Le Republique Islamique du Algerie Nord.
Your time line is off a little. I’m guessing it’ll be closer to February 2011 that the PRK becomes “o el Estado del California Norte”. Between Moonbeam and Sanctuary City Newsome we’re skrewed. But then the entitled will have enough maids, nanny’s and gardeners so it’s ok.
NT will neer learn either. The election of our illustrious new governor who claims “he is not an Albany insider” is proof of that. LT. gov is a real prize as well. (I live near Rochester so I’m familiar with “his work”) Screwed for another few years.
You think NJ and TX have it bad? In the medium sized (30,000) California town I live in, the high school Drama teacher makes $170,000. He has a base pay of $118,000 and gets another $46,000 for teaching two extra classes. I can only imagine how few classes he teaches before they become “extra”. To add insult to injury, he gets another $5k for things like consuting on the school plays. If this man maxes out his pension it will be the equivalent of you or I saving over $2 million dollars for retirement by the time we are 55.
The middle class private sector is really getting screwed here in CA becasue we are not organized and not sufficiently informed – mostly because we are too busy trying to make a living and pay taxes. This Organization is one of a few trying to do something about that.
BTW, Lost in such insanity is the question of why we even need a drama teacher. How many kids go on to a successful career in acting. It should be a club and the “teacher” ought to be paid like substitute teacher or sports team coach.
Oh come on now, don’t blame the arts for the actions of their teachers. A little Shakespeare is good for the soul anytime.
Wouldn’t it be great to slash the administration costs for our failing public education system and how about getting rid of the department of uneducation. I know everyone says that it won’t do much for federal spending, but it would do wonders for us that have to pay through the nose for those in Washington and again at home to cover the same ground, which has very darn little with educating children.
Right on.
The Department of Education should be defunded and it’s employees furloughed over a period of years. Education should be returned exclusively to the province of the states where local control and input will permit better oversight. It is far easier to remove sub performing local administrators and teachers when interference from the federal authority has been terminated. When education in our country was under local control we had the top educational system in the world. I don’t believe the founders envisioned education and the usurpation of local control as an enumerated power.
The more federal control and cost is reduced, the more resources will be available locally to improve results. The people in my state should not be paying a dime for teachers in another state who may be unionized. Why should I be subsidizing the bloat while my child gets less?
We the people need to demand a steep triming of federal power and a return of revenue and control to the states as the founders envisioned. This concept needs to be applied systematically to federal departments across the board. There should be 50 states competing as laboratories of the republic to provide more liberty for the citizenry and efficient, necessarry, services.
The Federal Department of Education does one thing, and one thing only: turn schools into ideology factories by subsidizing “emotional intelligence” and “bullying” and “hate hurts” pedagogies, along with the college-kids-age versions of these programs flying under the rubric of “sustainability.”
And once you start-up and institutionalize these ideologies, state taxpayers are usually forced to take over their financing, and it is practically impossible to get rid of them.
Wouldn’t it be great if our classrooms had all the supplies they need, and bureaucrats had to hold a bake sale to pay the superintendent….
That’s the comment of the day right there. LOL.
3. Bohemond, Now that’s priceless!
School bake sales w/sugary cakes, cookies & brownies…..BANNED. Superintendents…..DE-FUNDED!
I’ll weigh in on that, too. That is funny.
Your phrase is not only iconic but ironic. Thank you!
Read an article yesterday that said some insiders believe that Christie, despite his protestations, might still run for president.
That would be interesting because he is supposed to me a social moderate, if not liberal. He is, however, pro-life.
Could a social moderate actually get the nomination? I think not, but if he is as successful in his second year as governor as he was in the first, there will be a lot of conservatives clamoring for him, particularly since there is no clear favorite and the field is so broad that it will be hard for one to stand out from the pack.
I wonder, however, whether he might begin to turn people off a bit this year. Tough love is great when you really need it, but it can wear on you if it goes on for too long.
Just ask Winston Churchill!
He won’t run this time. If he runs, it’ll be in 2020.
You’re right, tough love does wear on you after a while. The problem is it’s going to take a whole lot of tough love for a long time to “start” to get everything back under proper control.
@4 proreason-
I wonder, however, whether he might begin to turn people off a bit this year. Tough love is great when you really need it, but it can wear on you if it goes on for too long.
Exhorbitant taxes might be great, for a limited time, when a State needs to get out of a politically self-constructed hole. But they can really wear on you, your family and your future if they go on too long – and Governor Christie was elected precisely because of that wear on the fed-up citizens of New Jersey.
They still need the tough love which Christie now focuses on Seitz and his enabling political cronies, and must be rejoicing that the Governor, at last, gets it.
IS, I wasn’t making a political statement, just an observation about people. I agree with your position that strong action is necessary, and support Christie in everthing that I’m aware that he is doing.
Nevertheless, for anybody running for office, the question isn’t just what you or I think, but what the electorate thinks.
Many people who are ardent supporters of this candidate or that, or this policy of that, need to think deeply (not criticizing you by this) about what the most important thing is.
My view is that the most important thing is to get rid of the menace in the white house. In my opinion, there are about 300,000,000 people who would be far less dangerous than he is. I will thunderously support anybody who opposes him, and my initial support will go to the conservative who I think has the best chance of defeating him, not necessarilly the conservative who best aligns with my personal opinion. I’ve already been criticized in these forums for that view, but I believe that, given our current circumstances, that is the most ratioanl approach to the grave crisis we face, which is not the economy, the deficit, Al Queda, China, or the denigration of the Constitution. The grave crisis is Barack Obama.
Barack Obama is only the public face of the “Democratic” Party. As democratic as the Nazi and the Communist parties of recent history. Using the same methods to establish themselves in power.
With the continuing love in for WJ Clinton, instrumental in ACORN, and with Ben Bernanke the sub prime lending fiasco that could have no end than the “banking crisis”. Enabling “nationalisation” of banks, and takeover of large swathes of the economy. Long planned and organised beginning in the 1960s after the launch of Sputnik. The continuing brick by brick dismantling the protections of ordinary Americans, distracted by drug culture and “freedoms” of the 1960s, contained in the Constitution. The “Democrat” Party with the plan to takeover the USA. at With their support crews and cheer-leaders in journalism, and entertainment media, universities, and RINOs.
The Millenium, planned as crown to the NEW AGE/NEW WORLD ORDER,lost because of the “vast right wing conspiracy”. Barack Obama the figurehead in 2008 :above criticism, an American Mandela. The passing of the falsely named “Health care Bill” the baby of Hillary Clinton, the final revenge for the loss of the millenium election. Revenge vowed by Nancy Pelosi at the time. The symbolic laurel wreath to crown their triumph in history. Almost Shakespearean. .
The manner in which Obama, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and the “Democratic” Congress enacted their revenge shows clearly what and who the real enemies, of the Constitutional Republic are. To remake to their model of control by a central “elite”,otherwise called a royal court or more recently Commissariate.
It is the so called Democratic Party which is the enemy of America. Barack Obama is merely their public face. Beware what they do behind the scenes. And have done consistently and pointedly for the past half century. With utter contempt for their followers, so easly bought, gulled and threatened to their requirements.
The present misfortune is many of those “Democrats” in Congress have been re-elected to continue their damage to the Constitutional Republic and the Rights of American citizens. At this time especially there is need for continuing monitoring / auditing of all actions in this Congress and especilly the behaviours and plans of those of the “Democratic” persuasion
When the Bell salary scandal hit the papers, I immediately said to myself that this was the tip of the iceberg. Here in California, it’s not just pay that’s the problem, it’s pensions. There’s a retired city manager from Vernon, CA, who collects a pension of slightly over $500,000 a year. Statewide there are thousands (last I heard above 10,000) individuals collecting pensions in excess of $100,000. Many of them “retire”, begin collecting a pension, and immediately get another state job, earning a salary also. The Democratic State Attorney General candidate, Kamala Harris, ran attack ads showing a Q&A with her Republican opponent, Steve Cooley, in which he admitted that if elected he’d collect both his salary as AG and his pension as a retired Los Angeles DA. Believe it or not he justified this by saying the AG salary was “too low”. It’s $150,000. And yes, I put a clothespin on my nose and voted for Harris…this is getting ridiculous, and someone has to put a stop to it.
You hear regularly from these individuals that they could earn more money in the private sector. I think it’s time we let them try, and hired some people who were less interested in their compensation packages and more focused on doing the work for which they’d been hired.
Your gov. Moonbeam is double dipping his pensions already. Triple dip after 4 years?
Christie is doing a great job now and in the one area Republicans need to shine… the economy. However, I think it is a mistake to push him for Prez… not only does he still need to prove that cuts can be made and stuck to, NJ’s deficit needs to come down and other economic benefits need to appear. Yank him before that and he is nothing but a “blowhard” and a “bully” to the opposition.
I dont like his stance on immigration and it will hurt him outside of the northeast. He most definitely needs to remain in the spotlight (up to and including the next convention) and his work needs to be supported by the Party.
We are jumping to presidential nominees far to fast, with every one who does something halfway decent promoted as the “next big candidate”
We wont win in 2012 with ANYBODY if the Party in general does not show anything other than business-as-usual.
If we had a dozen like Christie, the Republicans would be hard to beat in 2012.
Leigh T, there’s wisdom in what you say except it was too much thinking like this that stranded us with McCain last time. We’re doing this primary thing wrong, somehow. The way we do it now benefits the party and the old pols too much, and pretty well trashes the voters. There has to be a better way.
Yeah, that’s right. The reason it’s that way is because far too many people refuse to opt out of the two party paradigm they push at us. They, the party elites choose their candidate and that’s the choice we get. They’re a candidate that’s been groomed specifically for the party elites purpose. Until the electorate breaks the back of the two party system and kicks the power elites out of power, we won’t get anything different.
Christie will not run in 2012.
I am not happy with Romney, who seems too slick, and Palin would simply be so beaten up by our far-left media that it would eventually even make independents turn on her.
Pawlenty seems like a nice guy to host a talk show, and Huckabee, having been a Baptist minister and a believer in government programs, has something to turn him off to both conservatives and independent moderates.
Thus, we need a Governor with good conservative credentials, mentally top-notch and quick on his feet, and who will not scare moderates.
Bobby Jindal, anyone?
Jindal has an experience problem, same as Christie. He needs more seasoning, like a full second term as Governor of Louisiana. Nominate Mike Huckabee in 2012.
He will have 5 years as governor (and has done a lot to reform the place) and had a lot of administrative experience before that, albeit in non-elected positions.
I’ve also noticed that he draws strong praise from both Palin and Christie. I don’t believe either of them will run in 2012; if so, the fact that they agree on Jindal’s merits would give him a big boost.
The public education scam is out of control..
In my area of Bucks County PA, the AVERAGE teacher salary is $93,000…The second grade has a teacher, an assistant, a READING SPECIALIST, a LANGUAGE SPECIALIST and also a LITERACY SPECIALIST!!!
Stupid me, I thought learning to read the english language WAS “literacy”, and the TEACHER was supposed to teach it!!
Why do that, when you can spend a cool half million of the schebs money for the same thing (dont forget retirement costs!)
They spent 30 million spent on new admin offices (glass atrium, arched ceilings, wood panneling) and my sons “classrooms” are ten year old “temporary” trailers out back, because they couldnt afford an expansion of the school.
They went on strike a few years back, asking for a 17% pay raise, no health care contributions, and get this …a CASH ADJUSTMENT deposit of several thousand dollars straight into their 401K funds, because they “depreciated”.
I’m sure they all chose the “risky” higher potential growth fund (instead of the boring but safe bond fund)as the option, and when they lost, the expected to gain regardless….the nerve of those union bums is astounding
The Union president was quoted in the local paper during the stike:
“we know it takes two incomes to live here, so either mom or dad will have to use up their vacation time to be with the kids…we can hold out longer than they can” Nice huh?
Now they are in negotiations again, and not happy with the likely outcome due to the economy. So they took down all the artwork, projects, and student papers from the bulletin boards, in all the classroma and hallways, because theyre not “paid” to do it. The whole school is a drab depressing place for the kids now. Nice way to treat “the children” liberals are so concerned about, huh?
By order of the union, no letters of recomendation for students trying to get into college are to written (unless their parents are school employees) because they arent “paid” for that..
They also refused to show up for “back to school” because it was an “extra” they dont get PAID for….SO why was I there, to walk around an empty school, un-escorted, un-spoken to, with no one to ineterract with but other abandoned parents??
Werent paid for it? So all those summers off with pay are being refunded to us, right? Bastards!
Not only do they hold us finacial hostage, they indoctrinate our kids with their liberal state supporting idiology to boot, no critical thinking skills, no math or science skills, just PC bullshit from the left. I want my kid in a Catholic school but I cant affort to pay for TWO schools, so were stuck I guess.
Go Christie, GO! I abandoned the Peoples Republik of Jersey 25 years ago, maybe I’ll come “home” someday!!!
Is that Pennsbury? Yeah, that district has really gone downhill since I graduated- since the strike really, but the year after the strike was still okay. Now the union has only become more radical while drug gangs are making inroads into the district.
If it’s not Pennsbury, then you must be talking about Council Rock. Unfortunately, I don’t have firsthand knowledge of that district.
“Nice way to treat “the children” liberals are so concerned about, huh”
Liberals love HUMANITY…they can’t stand PEOPLE.
Thank God, and believe it or not, CA retirement is done by STRS, NOT a g’mt pension fund.
They take our monthly contributions (no SS deductions) and actually invest in the markets.
And they do well.
Contrast with PERS (Pub Employees Ret Sys) who is going broke and CA is going to bail them out and drive my state into BK!
Excuse my ignorance – what exactly does a school superintendent do?
Could the job be done by any competent office administrator from a small business?
Would anybody notice if the school superintendent wasn’t there?
I could be wrong, but I think a “school superintendent” is kinda like the guy you see leaning on a shovel on most road construction crews… he’s there to supervise but doesn’t do anything that might even resemble work.
Yep, it’s what the mob classifies as a “no show” or “no work” job.
And yet you praise Sarah Palin. Oh, the irony.
Show me the comment here on PJM where I have ever praised Palin.
Before you spend a lot of time looking, you might wanna check the archives of my own little corner of the blogosphere, including this post (specifically the second paragraph), and this one, and this one.
Sorry for so many self-referential links, folks, but it helps to make the point that “Can’t Believe” really has absolutely no idea what he/she/it is talking about… to him/her/it, I’m a conservative, so I must, by definition, be pro-Palin. Which just shows the limitations of the intellect of the average lefty troll.
They are basically “lookers” or lookiloos that look at teachers and principals and offer what they consider “constructive criticism” and do not really do anything worthwhile!
Superintendents are supervisors. Supposedly they supervise everyone from principals on down, but actually, their main function has become advising each other how to keep looking busy. So they go to a lot of meetings.
In Oregon a century ago, there were such things as County Superintendents. I’m not certain when it happened that every district, no matter how small, thought they needed an overpaid functionary. A return to the county office would free up a lot of overpaid managers, and the costs for each could go down with the competition!
I just love this guy!! He is the bomb. He is the best thing to come around in the political arena in a long time. I mean the guy just freaking rocks. Him and Marco Rubio. He is such a no BS genuine article, in your face with his basic common sense. Not afraid to tell you to take a hike
Y’all do realize that ‘unified’ school districts are nothing more than feather bed opportunities for grifters, con men, goonions and other such politically connected sorts.
If a school district consisted of a single High School and all the lower schools that feed it you wouldn’t need quarter million dollar ‘superintendents’.
And I’d be looking at seriously scaling back school employees that don’t spend time teaching. Exceptions could be made for custodial workers, cafeteria staff and suchlike but for the rest if they’re not teaching most of their day, they’re useless extravagances.
school choice.

We are living in the worst political crisis in the history of America. We cannot wait two more years while Obama continues his quest to destroy America and began to remake the world. This is not time to back down just because the ENEMY won some Congressional seats AGAINST Obama. The majority MUST rise up and put an end the MINORITY RULE (minority in the sense of political, economic policy, moral, ethical, spiritual matters.)
AN ELECTION WILL NOT DETER OBAMA AND HIS AGENDA:
(1) Already, Obama has resumed his attack on America by promoting his desire to see the decline of America and the American influence around the world with his comments in India.
(2) Already, Obama seeks to destroy American Sovereignty by ignoring illegal immigration.
(3) Already, Obama continues his destruction of our economy by dumping another $700 billion in of dollars into the system thus devaluing the dollar.
(4) Obama is willing to be an “incrementalist” and will settle for whatever he can get during his presidency toward the Democrat/Liberal/Progressive/Marxist/Statists goals . . even if it costs him a second term.
(5) Obama has no use for or belief in the fact that the USA was established upon a Judeo-Christian foundation.
“A nation can survive its fools and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and he carries his banners openly against the city. But the traitor moves among those within the gates freely, his sly whispers rustling through all alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears no traitor; he speaks in the accents familiar to his victim, and he wears their face and their garments and he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation; he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of a city; he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to be feared. The traitor is the plague.”

There is no time to rest from the victories of November 2, 2010. Our voices must remain loud and clear.
We must continue to demand “action” in order to restore our version of “America.”
American Patriots must remain vigilant and on guard in order prevent Obama’s attempts to “Fundamentally Change” the nation that the first lady had never been proud of until Obama’s became president.

Christie is great. But he is up against some tough opposition: obviously the public employee unions, but also the media and an old entrenched Democratic machine. It is not clear if he will succeed. If he does, there will be others like him, and things will get better. If not, it will get even worse. So supporting him is important.
What does a superintendent superintend? What happened to DC’s superintendent Rhee? Is she still avaiable to fill one of those cushy posts?
Rhee resigned when the mayor she worked for lost in the election. Ironically, Christie is trying to get her to work in New Jersey so he’s ahead of you.
She tried to kick some union teacher ass and got fired for her trouble.
Some more Christie pr0n to make my day! Yay!
Christie is smart in refusing to run in 2012 because the 2012 election is going to be a complete toss up and will hinge on the economy. With gridlock in Congress, businesses will have some breathing room to recover and the economy might actually start coming back. If this happens then the people will see the combination of Obama and a Republican Congress as working.
If you think a smart guy like Christie wants to lose a presidential election then you are wrong. The Republicans will end up with another McCain or Dole type to face a sitting president. The serious contenders are looking at 2016 because the 2012 election will continue to flush the business as usual types out. Obama will have regained some of his support and independents vote with their wallets, so if jobs are returning they won’t mess with the mix.
If jobs are the same or worst then who knows. But does anyone with serious ambition want to waste two years running for president on a crap shoot? Let the Republicans run their weaklings to be cannon fodder, while we continue to remove the business as usual types and then once all the pieces are in place, spring Christie on them in 2016 with maybe Rubio as VP or vice versa by that point.
Spread this story around and congratulate New Jersey residents every time you meet one on having a state that is coming back. We don’t need Chris Christy to run for President in 2012. We need him to start a tide of other politicans to do the same thing in their states. Support those that are working for us not those who show up to rule over us. What has Mitt Rohmney ever really done to further our freedom? Not much that I can see. Just another narcisist wanting to be “King” of the world. Shove off bozo. He was behind most of the trashing of Sarah Palin just after the 2008 election and deserves all the scorn he gets.
Isn’t Governor Christie fabulous? We just love him here in NJ.
Dianne,
Good for you, finally having someone you can believe in…I fled Jersey in the Florio years, looks like you poor long suffering overtaxed “peons” might get some relief
I say NO to Christie as Pres. in 2012 though…Hear me out….
He needs two full terms as governor, fighting and naming names like this video clip, to show everyone he is not a flash in the pan “Im mad as hell and I wont take it any more” one of a kind anomoly….he needs to set the stage as THE STANDARD for all to see, as long as possible.
I dont want him to be the Lone Ranger, I want him to be one of several leaders in front of a LARGE and ANGRY posse.
You are right, Root. Imagining the battle in 2015 (threats of inflation)puts a smile on my face, but, nonetheless, NJ has too many tax consumers for my taste. I am also leaving NJ and am looking forward to finding a place of solace. All this diversity is simply too stressful for me.
Over fifty percent of our primary and secondary education dollar, does not go into a class room, in a daily manner. Almost none is controlled by the teacher. If this ocean of funding was channeled through competent teachers, our society would be transformed. But this would require gutting some entrenched powers.
That is why all children should be given school vouchers.
Schools would quickly lay off unproductive teachers.
If they want to teach evolution, let them love it. Survival of the fittest teachers.
For the FIRST time I agree with you wing nuts; greed need to be put in check not just New Jersey but every where. in the education .
The FIRST TIME?
Dude, this is what “wingnuts” are about.
Anti corruption, waste, fraud, mismanagement because it erodes not just the treasury, but the trust and discourse of society
Anti PC reverse discrimination, because it perpetuates the “soft bigotry of low expectations” that liberals hold for minorities, and keeps everyone mad at eachother
Pro capital punishment for Cop Killers and child rapist/murderers (because they’re GUILTY of horrible crimes)…
… while generally opposed to Abortion For Convenience (because, in all honesty, the un-born ARE innocent, arent they?)
Strong on Defense because their ARE assholes that run dictatorships and massacre ALOT of people, we cant “apologize” our way into their friendship and out of danger
Nothing wild or radical about us “wingnuts”, its called common sense, or at least it USED to be, back in my fathers days.
Glad you opened your eyes a little…the light hurts a little bit at first, but soon you’ll see clearly, and wonder HOW you moved about in that dark dank house liberalism
I love seeing this guy in action! If only California could have the same results.
Sorry Gozer, California like New Jersey has the government and representation it demanded. Demand better. One other idea have you thought of having the drinking water tested for lead or LSD?
I think that lacing the water supply in CA with LSD would probably move the state closer to sanity.
“public sector salaries have gotten out of control”. That’s not true. There is full and complete control, and that is how the unions like it.
Every time I read about the education salaries for superintendents and other administrators, it reminds me of NYC. A few years ago I read that the employment picture for the School Board was that there were more administrators than teachers. In fact if I remember right teachers made up 33% of the employees and administrators made up around 40% of employees. The balance were custodians, guards, clerks, etc. Also seems to me that every time you get a good teacher they get kicked up to admin where they are supposed to teach other teachers how to teach. So you get rid of the good teachers and keep the not so good teachers in action. Then there were a bunch of teachers who were on administrative leave (they were so bad that even the present school board did not want them teaching) who were kept on full salary and who were to show up and do nothing all day long. And all this was under the teachers’ union contract with the city. Sounds like Gov Christie has much the same situation in NJ. Hope he wins and then maybe some other locales get the picture. And that people also see this for what it is and scream bloody murder the next time the teachers’ unions come up for a contract renewal and renegotiation.
The US wasn’t set up to have a permanent political ruling class, and they didn’t want permanent government employees, they did discover they needed (but really distrusted) a full time military and Federal police, but other then the Judges (supposedly the best educated people around, honest and patriotic) military and Federal cops the rest were suppose to be changed on a periodic bases. If the bureaucrats and full time politicians had to worry about finding and keeping a job or keeping a business open they wouldn’t be able to try and take away our rights.
Governor Christie may not yet have spelled it out in public (and I have no Nexis-Lexis, to check) but I have no doubt Governor Christie is very well aware that, America-wide and at every level of government, the “public sector union” crime families are the “Democratic” National Socialist Workers and Gangsters’ Party’s money-laundering replacement for its military-industrial complex. By way of which, for many decades before President Reagan won the cold war and shut it down, that war-mongering RICO-racketeering organized-criminal gang posing as a political potty, laundered its loot.
Don’t hold your breath waiting for anyone working in government to begin taking less in salaries while us schmucks continue to pay the taxes that keep the whole thing going. This superintendent is just counting the days before his six figure retirement income along with his health benefits begin. What a racket.
Those interested in stopping the abuses of the taxpayers as in this story should have a look at the facts surrounding public education.
Since the 70′s teachers pay rates have more than doubled, teachers population has doubled, the student population is roughly the same as it was in the 70′s. At the same time, test scores and overall education quality has declined. How is it under these conditions that teachers could possibly be whining about class sizes and not enough time and pay for the job?
The only way that we will put an end to this madness is repeal of the National Labor Relations Act. Like Obamacare, this will not be possible under the current administration, but we need to get the ball rolling now.
There are federal and state laws that protect workers now, so there is no legitimate reason for unions today, other than greed. We must put an end to unions if we are to return to prosperity as a nation.
I am 62. I am of the generation that had to work or live in a tent WITHOUT a payment from the Gov to keep up my drug habit. I am scared for the world at the moment. It has spiralled out of control ever since they started lowering the age for driving, drinking, voting, pregnancies, etc etc. I honestly think that if we raise the age limits again to at least 21 for everything then it will stop a lot of blowhards getting elected. Let children have a childhood. They will grow up soon enough without us pushing them.On TV you see all these drunken teens wrecking the towns. That sort of thing would stop. You don’t often see a group of 30yr old vandals BUT sometimes you do see a mob organized by evil people.
Meet Chris Christie, Dem Nightmare
Forty eight year old Christopher James “Chris” Christie is the leftist Democrat Party’s worst nightmare since Sarah Louise Palin.
The 55th governor of New Jersey and the 11th governor of the state of Alaska have a great deal in common and therein lies the scabrous rub for Democrats: They’re both deep-dyed conservatives, both committed to their families and to the pre-born, and both are in the liberal crosshairs for the same reason, the left is scared excrement-less of them.
However, libs will find it considerably more challenging to take down Christie than it was for them to smear, slander, and ridicule Palin. Even their late night undesignated hatchet man, David Letterman, who still hardly misses a show without attacking Governor Palin–or former President G.W. Bush–in some way has yet to take on Governor Christie.
Lately, it’s been incessant ridicule of TLC’s highly-successful “Sarah Palin’s Alaska,” which Letterman repetitively insists he won’t watch, just as he had repetitively said he wouldn’t read her best-selling book, Going Rogue, just as he now repeatedly says he won’t read Bush’s Decision Points.
Who really cares what you watch or don’t watch or read or don’t read, Dave, except for your sycophantic audience who are so enamored of your repetitive wit that they don’t realize how repetitious you and your writers are?
Chris Christie, whose very name and Roman Catholic religion rankles the left, is a whole other story for Letterman and his cronies, though. They can’t touch him or suggest he’s a dim bulb since he’s already proven that untrue and they won’t use that tactic even if he says he can see D.C. from his back porch in Mendham Township, N.J. . .

Its like you read my mind! You appear to grasp a lot about this, such as you wrote the book in it or something. I feel that you can do with a few percent to pressure the message house a little bit, however other than that, that is wonderful blog. A fantastic read. I will certainly be back.
