I don’t think that Chelsea Clinton, though she is the unfortunate daughter of two of the biggest political morons in the nation, should be held accountable for the mishaps/terrible mistakes of her parents. Her knowledge and perception of politics is obviously skewed by the fact that her parents are two of the foremost politicians in the U.S. today (“foremost” in this context does not imply effectiveness or political prowess). Thus, though I am a staunch Republican, I don’t believe that harshly interrogating Chelsea (obviously devoid of ANY political truth) on such matters as her mother’s lack of political ingenuity or her father’s lack of morals is justifiable.
She is 28 years old, a Stanford grad and a hedge fund employee, not a babe in the woods. We are entitled to ask her if her mother lost credibility in the Monica Lewinsky affair. Recall that when the Lewinsky affair broke, she admitted in the first interview (the same interview in which she complained of the “vast right-wing conspiracy”) that the allegations were serious if true, and that he should resign if they were true. We know now that she had plenty of good reason to believe they were not true.
Under those circumstances the question is fairly asked whether her defense — which was, characteristically, an attack — damaged her credibility.
Peter, are you quoting Chelsea or her mother, she was still in her teen’s when it all happened and her parent’s were her safe rock from a meanful press as she entered the picture in Washington. Go back and read the hateful comments seen & heard by a, 13 on up, young girl.
Right after the Bush girl’s little partying the press left them alone and yet a young intelligent girl like Chelsea is still being put on a stake because of her parent’s. Give her a break, you you like your children to turn on you if you have any ?
Hey Josh,
To say you’re a “staunch Republican” is to admit that you’re intellectually very narrow.
I’m one of those knuck-dragging Republican types myself, and I also don’t see the point in tormenting Chelsea over what her parents did or didn’t do when she was a teenager. PROVIDED she stays away from the campaign. I don’t know whether that’s been the case or not.
I don’t know whether Bill’s dalliances really damage Hillary’s credibility, but maybe someone should ask her what she plans to do to protect her female employees from unwanted advances in another Clinton White House? I’d pay good money to watch her face when someone asks her that.
She is asking (shilling, selling, whatever)people to elect her parents(once again)to be the highest LEADERS THE WORLD HAS and one person out of “70 universities” asked a simple question in the context of HISTORICAL FACT. Why should we?
“IT’S NONE OF YOU BUSINESS.” was the reply. I wouldn’t accept that answer from a 13 year old girl(which she is not)much less a grown woman. (salesperson)
I also have noticed it’s been next to impossible to find an unedited clip with the actual question intact. ONLY HER RESPONSE is played.
That is a story of “context” in and of itself.
Also remember her father’s presence and the sorid tale he made happen there would grace the oval office once again. “BECAUSE HE COULD”
The female was younger than Chelsea is now……… “but of course “THAT IS NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS”
ive been a democrat my whole life i gues i like their ideas and whats important for our nation. so much about the personal lives of all the canidates rather then solutions to our problems. chuck
I am no fan of the Clintons. I never vote for one, nor will I ever. Asking a child, grown or not about a parents infidelities,in the context of a press conference, is beyond the pale.
Reporters who ask such questions should be fair game for questions about THEIR love lives and those of THEIR parents. The press in this country has no shame.

RE: Hey!!!!
Where did the basic article go?
This is the second instance of questionable ‘editorial’ privilege I’ve encountered in PJM.
Who’s in charge of this place and what are their rules of engagement?
Regards,
Chuck(le)
