Hugo Chavez is a sickening theiving liar!! his policies are frothed with self delusion and an overaching ego!!

Truth be told, the death knell was sounded in december when the polity turned down his proposed constitutional ammendments and its exciting enough that they know to defeat Hugo Chavez, they must adopt a bottom up strategy which seeks to capture regional and local electoral positions first thereby creating a strong enough opposition that will tackle him and take him OUT of the presidency during the nnext elections

Ah, Schanrgly,
Indeed this is a poor turn of events for budding revolutionaries and Che t-shirt sales.

However, I doubt ir reflects any real change in heart from El Supremo Chavez. He is just a little clever, perhaps enough to stay in his current job longer, much preferrable methinks to any other offers his skillset would afford him.

People like Hugo usually are not smart enough to understand that Marx's best idea was to die, and that the rest of his ideas are but a poor joke.

Or they need the hoaxes provided by Marx to reach their own goals of grandeur, unachievable except by using the state apparatus to rob honest productive citizens. They have no skills to make something useful to vault them to wealth and power, politics and theft are all they can do.

Barack Obama has done nothing remotely significant in his life to earn a paycheck or spend money that didn't come from a taxpayer. McCain, for all his shortcomings, flew A4's into the worst anti-aircraft environment there has been.

If both sup at the public trough, their path and life experience are radically different. That, more than the heartfelt promises of today that may be tomorrow's used kleenex should be a major factor of thought by voters.

This is indeed a sad indication of the future of people's movements in the Third World. Where can we young idealistic students go to to take part in the people's liberation, social justice, and justifying our existence? Where can we young revolutionaries now go to excercise everything our economic, history and political science professors taught us?

Chavez's betrayal of our ideals disqualifies him from ever getting to wear a Che T-shirt ever again.
