For Clinton/Obama supporters, the last eight years of Bush starting with 2000, seems to be your Groundhog Day. For everyone else we have moved on from 2000. You can't blame Bush after January 2oth, 2009. But if you wonder why the country will leave you in 2010 or 2012, the answer is that anything bad that happens now will be your parties fault. Knock knock, Wake up!

I love Matt Damon. He's good-looking and a great actor. I could care less who he is voting for in any election. I will still go see his movies but I will not vote for his candidate just because "he said so". That goes for any actor or anybody! I do my own research, form my own opinions and vote how I want. I love being an American!

Small Town College Grad:

Doesn't it suck to be summarily lumped into a stereotype? Your people love to do that to me. I'm sure there ARE a lot of small towners out there that aren't idiots. But that's the genius of this forum - it doesn't matter! You can be totally genuine and people here call you an idiot, a dupe, and many other things that I won't repeat.

The thing is, I used to have respect for small town citizens, until they became hateful and arrogant. Please don't ask me to believe that the majority of small town Americans are plugged into current events. I live in IOWA. I know these people. There are some people out there that are exceptions, but rural areas barely have dial-up connections.

Thanks for the response though. You seem intelligent.

To #32 Someone 75:

As someone who lives in small town America, I take umbrage at your comments. Many of us choose to live here to avoid just the kind of nonsense that goes on in big city America. Contrary to your opinion, many of us have college degrees, read newspapers, surf the internet, and yes, think for ourselves. Just because we don't agree with you does not mean we are uniformed. On the contrary we probably know much more than you ever will. You see, here we have to learn to fend for ourselves, live in peace with our neighbors, and cope without whining because we know that doesn't change anything. If we know about cattle, we also know about market futures, economics, accounting, agriculture, meteorology, and animal husbandry, because that is what it takes to be a cattle rancher and farmer. If we know about guns, it is because sometimes we have to protect those assets you call cattle.

I don't have scorn for celebs endorsement as much as I have a dislike for them assuming I should value their opinion solely based on their celebrity. I value those who give me a legitimate reason why I should listen to their opinion though, even though those are few and far between in the Obama camp. As to Celebrities endorsing McCain, you just don't hear about them because the MSM chooses to ignore them. The following list took me less that 5 minutes to find.

I wish celebrities would quit giving us their political opinions. They are entertainers, not political analysts.

However, if you guys had celebrities backing McCain, I highly doubt you'd have such scorn for them. Kind of like I have scorn for the slack-jawed small town idiots who think the financial crisis was a surprise. I've listened to small town America and I'm shocked at how ignorant they are. Good values don't help much if you're just generally uninformed about everything that doesn't directly related to guns, cattle, and fertilizer.
