The Protestant French acted as a group and defied the Nazis and their French collaborators. They didn’t hesitate to act and put their lives on the line. No Jew was turned in to the Nazis while in their care and I think some even gave their lives to protect them. Pierre Sauvage wrote a book and did a documentary movie on the subject.

This is correct and an interesting point. However, European Russia has few immigrants and a more monolithic racial structure.

Marie Claude: What a stupid comparison. The US existence is a continuation here of those 2 “millenariums” that you mention, so you cannot compare both like that. US culture does not comes from thin air, but from the heart of Europe. The thesis of this article is very valid, look at the “French Intifada” in Paris not long ago, and how the French cowered under their tables. There are sections of Paris where the few French woman left in the middle of Muslim neighborhoods, are compelled to cover their heads with scarves for fear of retaliation.
