Blue Suede Jihad: PJM Gets the MSM Treatment
Lollar also swiftly dealt with Hanooti’s terror-tied background with one sentence mentioning that he had been named as an unindicted co-conspirator in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing trial. He added that I had claimed that “Al-Hanooti raised millions of dollars for Hamas and ‘is an active supporter of terrorism and extremist Islamic ideology,’” as if it were a matter of my personal opinion and subject to debate.
What he failed to mention was that my assessment was based on nearly a dozen government intelligence reports, terrorism trial exhibits, and FBI wiretap transcripts related to Hanooti’s longtime fundraising for Hamas linked to in my previous article that were entered into evidence during the recent Holy Land Foundation terrorism financing trial in Dallas, in which Hanooti was once again named as an unindicted co-conspirator. It was not my personal assessment that Hanooti was a major Hamas fundraiser, but the conclusion of one of the FBI’s top counterterrorism officials, who noted in a 2001 declassified intelligence memo that Hanooti had raised at least $6 million for Hamas.
Tossing aside that issue and those government documents without the slightest acknowledgement, Lollar then devoted an entire paragraph to the issue of the origins of the PJ Media name.
To bolster the mosque’s denials, Lollar turned to two other officials with an affiliated mosque, both of whom unsurprisingly said that they hadn’t heard of any upcoming Hamas fundraisers. “Other Muslim officials said the relatively close-knit Muslim community of Memphis would have been aware of any high-profile visit by a Hamas leader,” the article explained. But that raises the question: if a leading Hamas fundraiser had been scheduled to appear in the area and the mosque had been caught in the act, would they have admitted to it? One of the other mosque leaders Lollar contacted for this supposed “independent” verification, Mohammed Moinuddin, even dismissed the allegations against Hanooti, remarkably saying, “He did not sound like an aggressive person, or hostile or a terrorist.”
Maybe Mike Lollar should contact the FBI and the Department of Justice to inform them that they have Mohammed al-Hanooti all wrong?
This is the state of old media journalism today, exemplified in this case by the standard “see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil” approach when it comes to the issue of the rampant extremism found in American Muslim institutions. No longer are facts allowed to be taken at face value (did I mention that the Hanooti event was publicized on the mosque’s own website???), but all deference must be given and any criticism considered a presumptive error even when officials of the Muslim community have no reasonable explanation for obvious facts.
This is precisely why PJ Media exists — to tell the story that the establishment media steadfastly refuse to report (in fact, next week I’ll report on how Lollar got the FBI’s awareness of this event flat wrong). With that in mind, however, we shouldn’t be surprised when the establishment media lash back when their incuriosity, laziness, and incompetence are exposed.

dont feel bad. These people will lie cheat and steal to keep the narative going. Thats the problem with intellectual elitists. Their views, theories and beliefs are so frail that any contrary to them must be wrong and silenced. I just hope the majority of americans wake up for real and start callin BS.
After reading the original report, I was all set to blog about it, especially in the context of the TN-5 candidate Kumar, but somehow got distracted by other, never ending nonsense. Thank you for your persistence and followup. Your professionalism lends credence to your concerns, and gives lie to the trust-us attitude of the lame stream media. Good Job!
Read about the Crimes that Nashville Mayor Dean & DA Torry Johnson are covering up. Is it any wonder that Nashville is the 9th Most Dangerous city in America & Memphis is 2nd Most Dangerous?

Free, I was trying to be a little gentle last time. Here’s the deal: you keep hitting the comments with cut-and-pasted pieces with links to various other blogs; often those have only a tenuous relationship to the story. This time, you posted it twice in a span of not very many minutes.
This is getting to look very spam-ish. I just deleted — actually marked as spam — one of the duplicates. Feel free to comment, but it won’t take many more of these link-filled non-content posts to get banned.
After seeing you hit him in the other thread yesterday, Charlie, I was kinda wondering what your reaction would be when I saw Free’s two in this thread.
I begin to wonder if Free isn’t just a bot, albeit a fairly advanced one, rather than a real person.
In any event, please accept my vote for banning. Its posting distract from the topic at hand… and, lest I be accused of the same, I’d better get back on topic myself.
The Confederate Secret Service had the original info out as soon as it was available. Needless to say, the Pedophile Prophet Lovers were browning their bloomers. They love it when I call ol’ Mo ‘The Pedophile Prophet’.
It’s a shame that while some Southerners will still raise the Stainless Banner, the National Flag and the Battle Flags (naval and land) and cry foul over the War of Northern Aggression, they will not open their mouths against the War of Muslim Aggression. Memphis has fallen. Murfreesboro is about to get a C-3 bunker (oooops, I mean an Islamic Cultural Center) and ‘moderate’ Islam is patted on its butt everywhere in America.
Lame stream media at it’s worse.. Journalism today is DEAD!!
Why are the libs so eager to suck up to the Muslims? During the Cold War the lefties were equally groveling towards the commies but that was natural, being commies themselves, and so it was understandable. But ISLAM? The religion that treats women like livestock, opposes abortion and pornography and is imbued at its very core with violence against unbelievers? When the libs indignantly swear they’re not anti-American they should be asked what then is behind their attraction to violent jihadists who loudly state that they want to kill Americans. Is it just pure, suicidal nihilism? Why is Hamas, a terrorist organization, allowed to fundraise in this country anyway? I guess if the Obamunists can pony up $400 million of taxpayer money directly to Hamas it shouldnt be a surprise that the Hamasim can extort (yes, extort. I’ll bet it’s worth an American Muslim’s life to refuse to donate) funds from the Muslim community here. The most stomach-turning aspect of this is the reporter and his editors. What a bunch of corrupt, worthless traitors to openly lie to protect the people who danced in the street with joy on 9/11.
Because one man’s terrorist-friendly group is another man’s (Democratic Party) voting block.
Thanks Patrick,
I blogged about your article. Some of my comment:
[This]simply verifies why little that appears in the paper can be believed, and often what doesn’t appear is more important than what’s printed.
But that leads us to a question that’s every bit as important as the disappearing Hamas fund raiser. Why is it important that supporters of Islamic terrorism should be given a platform for their hate and why is the typical MSM reporter so anxious to downplay this issue, taking their denial as fact?
Would supporters of the KKK be able to schedule an event and find in Lollar such a ready willingness to deny they ever did? Yet the KKK has killed far fewer people than Hamas and Islamists on Jihad.
The answer is that the followers of Islam are one of the protected classes. If a controversy erupts, such as the one that began with Poole’s report, the politically correct response is to make it go away. Evidence to the contrary never makes it into print. Let me remind people that in the early part of the 20th century, the KKK had the support of much of the media.
Am I the only American whose surprised to find out there are ALREADY so many mosque’s built in the U.S.? This isn’t a religion, what the heck is this, AND WHY HASN’T AMERICA BEEN ALERTED TO JUST HOW MANY MOSQUE’S THERE ARE IN THE US? A mosque isn’t a church. This is wrong everyone, just wrong. Both, men and woman are not allowed in these “so-called” churches. No, muslims and mosques do not belong in the United States IF we plan on remaining a CIVILIZED COUNTRY.
To quote you Mr. Poole, out of your fine expose of the Truth about the state of terrorism and the complicit media;
“With that in mind, however, we shouldn’t be surprised when the establishment media lash back when their incuriosity, laziness, and incompetence are exposed.”
Rightly so, but left to me I would write;
With that in mind, however, we are not surprised that the establishment media lashes back, aka propaganda lies and agenda, when the truth is exposed by the New Media about the lies, the damn lies, and when the big lie is exposed.
But that is just me talking, a natural born patriotic American who believes in this Republic and that which she stands for, aka a bible, family and gun clinging right wing conservative racist. At least that is what that impostor and illegal alien in the oval office, the dictator with a muslim name, claims. Who, I am eternally proud, I did not vote for.
The “rampant extremism” is responsible for many deaths on American soil since 9/11, and the MSM dances around in ignorance and delusion…
The most remarkable comment in the Lollar piece to me was this: “(re PJM’s name) The remark came in the wake of CBS-TV anchor Dan Rather’s reports of irregularities in former President George Bush’s service in the National Guard. Bloggers had questioned the authenticity of the documents on which the report was based.”
Um, didn’t CBS fire Rather and Mapes over the authenticity of those documents, or lack thereof? Yet Lollar reports it as though the documents were never in question. I’d say the degree of malfeasance of basic journalistic practices doesn’t surprise me anymore, but it does. Let’s face it, the MSM has gone from investigating and reporting the news to covering each others’ asses, as well as those of liberal politicians and radical Muslims. Where am I wrong here?
As a fan of PJM and of Poole’s work and one who is thankful that Poole spent the time to write the first article, I hate to rain on his parade now but…
1. If this were truly “the MSM treatment,” then Lollar’s article wouldn’t have even been written at all. Lollar’s not a bad guy; in May, he provided favorable coverage in detail beyond anyone’s expectations for our local Israel Festival. That’s why a friend of mine emailed him Poole’s article to begin with.
2. Maybe Lollar should have contacted Poole but Poole has no complaint because he hasn’t shown that there was anything else he could have told Lollar that wasn’t in Poole’s first article. Sure, Poole has a screenshot but Lollar’s article never claimed the notice didn’t appear but rather that “It was removed Friday.”
3. Agreed, Lollar’s article in many, many ways is not what I would have written but I cannot infer that he impugned Poole’s article anywhere other than in the subtitle, “Blog report, calendar listing called inaccurate” which should have read “Calendar listing called inaccurate” because nobody in Lollar’s article calls Poole’s article inaccurate. Lollar certainly doesn’t. On the other hand, the title “Hamas fundraiser not speaking at mosque” doesn’t mince words about Al-Hanooti.
4. On balance, we are better off that Lollar wrote his article because awareness is advanced. We still have the mystery of how the calendar listing got there to begin with and whether there is a cover-up going on of an actual visit by Al-Hanooti. Memphians are now more aware because of both Poole and Lollar.
(Now that I have served as Lollar’s apologist, some might think that I am Lollar’s sock puppet. I wrote under a pseudonym in this posting and my postings to Poole’s earlier article because I live too close to the mosque in question and some of the people over there scare the crap out of me… which is something Lollar would probably never say. For whatever it’s worth, I am not an apologist for Lollar’s paper which is clueless about Islamic Supremism and I will cheer any attempt to call them to task for it so long as it’s fair)
Let ‘em have Memphis. Then the urban inhabitants there can see how fun it is under the brown man’s thumb. I do not give a rat’s behind about memphis. Just move Beale St out a ways and nuke the rest – and I have relatives there.
Patrick:
You might want to change the diction from “who immediately sprung” to “who immediately sprang.” Sprung (as I understand it) refers to releasing from captivity whereas you needed the meaning of leaping up into activity.
“Maybe Mike Lollar should contact the FBI and the Department of Justice to inform them that they have Mohammed al-Hanooti all wrong?”
Not much point in contacting the Department of Justice over this, as I have no doubt that they’ve dismissed any allegations regarding Hanooti as unfounded.
