I remember reading during the Lebanon war in 1982, that in a PLO controlled medical clinic in southern Lebanon, a few young men were found hanging on meat hooks with tubes draining their blood into containers. The young men were supposed to be local Shiites who had somehow fallen afoul of the PLO which ruled the area at the time. I haven't seen any further discussion of this since then. Could the arabs be projecting??
