Barack Obama: President of Replicants
President Barack Obama lives in a pretend world. He sees things through the eye of a kaleidoscope, and all of the pretty pieces of glass are his “composites.” He peers through his illusionary tool at his “composite people” and plays with the frailties of life. As the shattered flecks, or figures, morph into his fantasies, he envisions his life, the lives of others, and the governing of the America people as shapes and variations that mirror his own private, pervasive, and persistent ideals — regardless of reality or reason.
It is Obama’s world.
He is bothered when conflicts interfere with his “compositeland,” like Congress, Supreme Court rulings, or old girlfriends. He is bothered with details that hinder him, such as budgets, constitutional principles, and realities that people are unique and savvy and that one size does not fit all.
Obama’s “composite women” are in the news: His girlfriend mentioned in his biography was actually a mix of several women, as is his campaign’s “Juila.”
According to Obama, in his book Dreams from My Father he writes about his New York girlfriend in a disclosed “composite” fashion. She is a compilation of all of his girlfriends to represent a certain time period in his life. This yields the question: How do we know a man if he only reveals his life in vague and composite forms?
Who is the real Barack Obama?
Not only is Barack Obama a mystery, but so is the basis of his governing. Currently, he is proposing to the American women, whose votes he desperately needs to win, that he will govern them on the basis of his composite woman “Julia.” Life will be like the glasses of his kaleidoscope, beautiful and transfixed. Vote for Obama and your life will be like Julia’s.
Perfection works in the realm of make-believe. If you are a Replicant, as in the movie Blade Runner, or an imaginary “Julia,” you can be blessed by Obama’s world. Replicants and Julias are blank sheets of paper on which Obama can write his manifesto.
In reality, however, women have feelings, spirits, complexities, and inborn American yearnings for self-determination. Turning women into cookie cutter images doesn’t work any better now than it did in the days when Communism in the USSR attempted the homogenization of the human soul and mind. Communism leads to tragedy and demise, cruelty, and bitterness, recently reflected in the cries from Chinese rights activist Chen Guangcheng for asylum in America.
Yet Obama paints an ideal world where the “wealth is spread around,” the taxpayers foot Julia’s bill, and the end goal for women is to volunteer in the community garden. The “Julia” manifesto presents picture perfect scenarios. There is no mention that Julia spends her life dependent on the government.
Under President Obama: Julia is enrolled in a Head Start program to help get her ready for school. Because of steps President Obama has taken to improve programs like this one, Julia joins thousands of students across the country who will start kindergarten ready to learn and succeed.
There is no mention that some tenured teachers are contributing to the demise of the American education system. There is no mention that Obama will never stand up to the unions.
Under President Obama: For the past four years, Julia has worked full-time as a web designer. Thanks to Obamacare, her health insurance is required to cover birth control and preventive care, letting Julia focus on her work rather than worry about her health.
There is no mention that birth control is about $10.00 a month. There is no mention that it is not the responsibility of the taxpayers to pay for Julia’s birth control.
Under President Obama: As she prepares for her first semester of college, Julia and her family qualify for President Obama’s American Opportunity Tax Credit—worth up to $10,000 over four years. Julia is also one of millions of students who receive a Pell Grant to help put a college education within reach.
There is no mention of the national debt because Obama wants us to believe that there is a pot of gold at the end of his Obamabow. There is no mention that the debt clock runs up so quickly you can’t even write it down fast enough. The number as of this writing is almost 16 trillion: $15,705,864,699,709.00
Under President Obama: Julia enrolls in Medicare, helping her to afford preventive care and the prescription drugs she needs.
There is no mention that Medicare is essentially bankrupt. There is no mention of an Obama reconstruction plan to save Medicare. There is no mention that the U.S. total debt is $57,451,655,210,000.00
Under President Obama: Julia retires. After years of contributing to Social Security, she receives monthly benefits that help her retire comfortably, without worrying that she’ll run out of savings. This allows her to volunteer at a community garden.
There is no mention that keeping Social Security solvent is impossible with the current method of operation. There is no mention of an Obama plan to reconstruct Social Security. There is no mention that the Social Security liability is $15,658,907,238,902.00
In Obama’s world, women blissfully volunteer in a community garden at the end of their life. Note that the garden is not their own garden.
Women are smarter than this. Women know that they are not a “Julia” Barbie Doll. Just like the composite girlfriend Genevieve Cook, who revealed herself in the flesh and discusses Obama’s “sexual warmth,” women will step forward and present themselves as living, breathing human beings who have minds and quests for independence.
The real Obama may not reveal himself, but the real women’s voice will. Women will balk at being forced into an Obama mold. As if all women aspire to culminating their life and legacy in the community garden. First it was the kitchen, now it is the garden.
The Democrat Party is the women’s party? Think again. It was the Republican majority that presented and ratified in the 19th Amendment. It is the Republican Party that will recognize, propel, and propagate women’s independence.
Obama wants women who are reliant Replicants. Republicans want self-sufficient women who reason.
I apologize if this sounds crass, but who are you trying to convince? While I know some of the women you describe, I’ve shopped Julia around to liberal women I know just to verify what I already know. They have no objection to that portrayal, in fact; the level of fawning actually did take me back a bit.
While the men’s vote is pretty much split, the women’s vote is not. Women voted for Obama 56% to 43%. Unmarried women voted for Obama 70% to 29% percent. That’s up 8 percentage points since the Bush/Kerry contest of 2004. No, I’m sorry Janine, while I’m sure you are all these things, women as a demographic are rowing at ramming speed towards to state controlled serfdom for us all. Julia, as condescending as it is, knows its audience.
Rik, you are talking about the spoiled, selfish ones; Janine Turner is talking about the wider reality, of independent-minded women with their own hopes and dreams, not Obama’s or the Left’s sick imitation of hopes and dreams, which in reality will ever offer only subsistence without hope.
I don’t think they are so much “spoiled, selfish” as ignorant. If you don’t know any better you might confuse brass for gold without any underlying intentionality. Their confusion is not about ‘them’. We have done a very poor job in this country of teaching basic economic concepts. We have also suggested that there is only a very thin connection between effort and reward. Do you think a generation marinated in the expectation that everyone gets a trophy has any idea what that connection might really look like?
years ago when I got my football letterman’s jacket in college, I was very proud of my accomplishment…but when I saw the same jacket sold in the college bookstore it certainly diminished my trophy…our rose bowl teams were limited to 52 players…that meant a lot of scholarship players didn’t go(you had to earn it)…today everybody goes including walk-ons…I knew something was wrong back then and 25 years ago when my kids were in Little League baseball everybody got a trophy it just didn’t set right with me…Today there isn’t one valedictorian but multiples…we just can’t hurt people’s feelings…sometimes hurt feelings or staying home when your teammates travel to a bowl game is a great motivator…
I think everyone in the whole world should be given a trophy, a million dollars, and shot into outer space to seed the stars with our wisdom and wealth.

I’m not disputing that they are the selfish ones, but selfish quotient is growing. 56% of women, who represent 53% of all voters, voted for Obama. Of the unmarried ones, 70% voted with Obama. The number of total women voters for Obama is on the rise. We know Julia isn’t going to affect women who already wouldn’t vote for Obama. It wasn’t made for them, or it wouldn’t have been rendered like a pre-school book. It is aimed at taking the lion’s share of the 18-22 year old women who have joined the voting roles since dear leader took office. It is designed to convince them, who are already staring at a bleak economic future thanks to Obama’s policies, that without him, they are going to end up starving and without medicine. I’m sorry to say, that I believe it is on track to do just that.
I’m glad it offends some women, but does it offend more than it lures?
It’s as if he were a sheik building a harem of women who are afraid to be left without daddy or husband to take care of them. Is this the Democrat view of liberation? Zheesh.
Women voted for the “black guy” just like they date them. Only the low life white women have an urge to be with a black guy. Others may give it a try, but after they find out that they are all liars, they dont do it again.

Obama’s fantasy world has reached such all-consuming levels that he can’t even see the real world through his kaleidoscope any more. We are now dealing with his dreams of remaking the rest of the world in the image in his mind.
Rather like Eldon Tyrell, he dreams of “the people” being redesigned into easily-managed standard types and groups. Executive models to give orders, worker models to take them, pleasure models for entertainment, and combat models to ensure that all of the above toe the mark.
It’s the logical end result of the progressive obsession with “blocs” and “groups”. Obama just carries it off the deep end. Of course, in academia today, that’s more-or-less the usual thing.
To borrow from another SF world (the Honorverse), if the average progressive is a Solarian League “mandarin” like Innokentiy Kolokoltsov, Obama is approaching the delusion level of one of the leaders of the Mesan Alignment.

I generally like this article, but wonder about the suggestion that POTUS is in any way mysterious. We may focus too much on his personality to the detriment of understanding his constituencies, groups that are objectively at odds with each other, for instance environmentalists versus unionized workers in many occupations. Truly, the man isn’t complicated. He’s not even remotely complex in the sense that he takes a lot of time to contemplate an idea before discussing it. He is merely deeply fried in Marxism and sprinkled with lots of buzz-words and phrases to baffle the otherwise mentally-challenged listener.
Often, his even his most basic of sentences don’t hold together and he is already known by conservatives to have spouted a conservative-type line several years ago only to reverse that opinion with some sort of gobbledygook later that makes no sense at all. This gives rise to the notion that when he spouted the conservative concept, he was just reading lines from a script to suit his own agenda to be in opposition to the current republican government.
He is what we call in the South, “contrary”. A most annoying feature of humankind. He’ll bait you into an argument so he can play with you by changing the tone and word-choice and meander into subjects that have no bearing on anything, all to claim a check in the “win” column of argument chess.
Listening to him has got to be a drag. I have known people like him who “hold court” and spout empty rhetoric that at first blush sounds intellectual and sophisticated but when run through the listener’s brain is merely garbage filled with unsubstantiated and inaccurate notions. I think the word “boor” is most appropriate here. Perhaps “poseur” is as well and may be more accurate.
Oh, our dear “P Jay Medilla”, . . . and here I’ve been told that, our president was, “engaging”, “intelligent”, “intellectual”, and much more beside, . . . well, I was not actually told so, I mean, I’ve heard that over some of the news media, . . . And naturally no mention that it is neither our fault nor our responsibility that higher education’s costs have risen to such levels.
Odd how Progressives are all about controlling this, and capping that, but they never somehow mention Academia.
Let’s not forget that Philip K. Dick’s Replicants were constructed with a built-in four-year lifespan — an expiration date after which they were automatically erased from existence.
“If thou takest the King’s shilling, thou art the King’s man.” So ran the saying in medieval England: If you sign on with the King’s army, you become obligated to obey orders. One sort of order was (and is) to accept whatever duties, and expose yourself to whatever hazards, are demanded of you by your “superiors.”
Those who would follow in “Julia’s” train are eager to “take the King’s shilling,” though the import isn’t military, at least in the near term. They might not expect to be regimented in consequence, but that doesn’t mean it can’t or won’t happen.
Replicant was a name given to them by Ridley Scott. In the novel they are referred to as “andys.” Also, the Rosen corporation didn’t build them with a 4 year planned obsolescence, it was that they hadn’t yet been able to build one that would last longer than that. The movie changed that and made that part of Tyrell’s design. In an unused voice over, Rachel was supposed to have not had this limitation, but that was cut, and so it was ambiguous.
Not to segue off topic but in the movie that was the great secret Eldon Tyrell had been keeping and that he reveals to Replicant Roy Baty when the latter sneaks into his headquarters and confronts him. Tyrell had tried and tried but could not build them to live any longer than that. He would have made them immortal if he could but four years was the best he could do. In a despairing rage Roy crushes his head.
Rachel was supposed to be his crowning achievement but we’re only left hoping that she might have some extra time as she and Rick Deckard fly off into the sunset together.

Obama and his worldview are the metaphorical equivalent of the guy with the elaborate model train set in his basement. Everything works perfectly there. It never rains. The railroad ties never rot. The roads never need repaired. Everyone smiles. No one poops.
Obama thinks that if he just tries hard enough he can make the real world run just like his train set.
Problem is, I don’t even think the layout of the train set was designed very well. You might think, well, the laws are OK on paper but not in practice. But even his signature legislation, Obamacare, is likely to be struck down as unconstitutional… BEFORE it even goes into effect! Engine doesn’t even make it out of the round house.

Not “most” women, as mentioned many times before, mainly the singleton spinsters. That’s part and parcel of the Leftist project to destroy the family. Lib women are either single, “living together” with a boyfriend or in a marriage with a man they don’t trust to hang around for life. Either way, they are relying on the State to take care of them in their dotage. So, like all other dependent classes they vote for the party of government.
I’m just hoping that self-preservation will win out. The best strategy for Republicans is to relentlessly point out the hard, cold, numbers and use Greece as an example of the fact that the money WILL run out and that Uncle Sugar is not constitutionally bound to honor all those promises.
Then relentlessly put forward conservative solutions and show how they CAN work to keep us all, liberal and conservative, from having to eat that ol’ dog food in our age.
Actually “spinsters”–unmarried women over the age of 35 who are NOT divorced, NOT shacked up, NOT raising illegitimate kids, and NOT lesbians–would be very receptive to rational explanations of how conservative policies would benefit them financially, if conservatives could stop calling them names and blaming them for the fall of society long enough to make a respectful explanation. For example, I’d be better able to save for my retirement if the federal government didn’t take 12% off the top of my salary and give it to people who don’t work.
Stop conflating educated, professional women who didn’t marry with high-school dropouts raising a half-dozen fatherless babies on your dime. It makes it harder to get the positive, convincing messages across.
In Obamaland, it is not possible to be single and not raising illigitimate children without the government providing birth control drugs.

Julia’s artificial life resonates with many women, because that’s the life they’ve sought for themselves. Safe. Secure. Unchallenged and unchallenging.

I know more of the latter than the former, so IMHO, the Obamatrons made a huge mistake. Their vision for life, the future and women (and yes, men, too) IS a cartoon. Literally. Pretty much says it all, doesn’t it?

What none of you seem to understand is that the left mental life is not more cartoons and comics used for auto-stimulation. They think they are making progress why whirling in eddies in their own minds.
Look at all stories from revealed religions are the follow the same pattern as Superman or The Green Hornet. They may provide permission for vicarious violence but really don’t help much when you have to make it happen yourself.

A return to prosperity as the goal was common sense and assumed, and what American could even imagine that an American president could be dumb enough to try to lead the country into an historically failed ideology like Marxism? If Obama was honest he wouldn’t have used such a vague term as “transform”, which would be interpreted by any sane American as a transformation to prosperity, but he would have spoken of his vision of creating a socialist utopian society, but instead he chose to use stealth socialism as way of duping the American people. No, we were betrayed.

So why would anyone vote for that if they thought that was true? A secret desire to be economically harmed? It just makes no sense.
The people who voted for Obama fell into several categories, some in two or more at once. They are;
1. People who were tired of George W. Bush.
2. People who didn’t think John McCain had the chops for the job.
3. People who would vote for a yellow dog (alive or dead) running as a Democrat rather than vote for anything else.
4. People who voted based on Obama’s skin color to prove how “sophisticated”, “broad-minded”, “progressive” and “multicultural” they were.
5. People who were afraid of being called “racist” by those in category (4) if they didn’t vote for him.
6. People stupid enough to believe that a redistributionist would change his dogmas in the Oval Office.
7. People who liked the idea of redistribution. (See “OWS”.)
8. People who didn’t pay attention to his background, helped along by the media’s refusal to say anything about it.
9. People who hoped he’d end the war against Islamist terrorism. Not understanding that if you stop fighting and the other guy doesn’t, it’s called “you lose”. (A subset is those who wanted us to lose, on “philosophical” or other grounds.)
10. People whose understanding of science, foreign policy, and economics is so non-existent that they actually believed that the fantasies he spouted on all of the above subjects could actually work. (Notably on energy.)
And the final and most dangerous reason that people, in spite of all logic, voted for Obama;
11. Some people, like the Joker in “The Dark Knight”, just want to watch the world burn. And were certain that Obama wanted to play with matches.
Of all these categories, those in (11) were probably the only ones with a realistic view of The Self-Exalted One. They hate our civilization; so does he.
Truly a match made in hell.

There is no mention that you cannot retire comfortably on even a maxed out social security level. There is no mention that public employees of all types get much fatter retirements worth millions.
The “imagining” I want to do is this: I will work for 30 years with great pay, never worrying about staying late or meeting deadlines or getting fired, never make any sacrifice to save for my retirement except for a tiny monthly contribution, retire at 55 and receive 60-80% of my highest salary and gold plated benefits for the rest of my life.

His deliberate purpose is to divide, win re-election though targeted voting blocs, conquer, and bring the US to its knees. I believe his Julia concoction objectifies and patronizes women, which women activists should scream about. Women are helpless? This is regressive not progressive.
Julia is what happens when the government became the parents, and the society was being deconstructed.
But the truth is that those that want to succeed, beyond others wildest dreams, do not have the government as their parents, nor do they want that.
I think there are two reasons women tend to vote Dem more than men. (Gross over-generalization that I believe has truth to it follows)
1) Women don’t read newspapers/news internet sites/watch news shows on TV as much as men. Politics and economics interest them less. Women are interested in being “nice.” Sharing is “nice”. Therefore Democrats are nice. They want to be nice so they vote Democrat.
2) Also, more substantively, women will more likely get stuck caring for aging parents than their brothers. Thus they care a lot about entitlements for the elderly. If those get taken away, who knows what will happen. Will senile, feeble Mom and Dad have to move in to the family home to be babysit by daughter? Don’t tinker with women’s parents entitlements!! Keep away Paul Ryan! Vote Dem. Claro?

It is not just women. Obama sees all people as composites. Remember he is a narcissist. He can only process information as it relates to himself. Other people are a means to what he wants which is driven by a need for adulation. He does not see others as unique individuals.
I do not agree with the view that Obama is a dedicated socialist idealist. I think he is too shallow for that. He is an opportunist driven by self need. He has no problem writing about his past which is highly fictionalized and revealing that the girlfriend is a “composite” because he assumes everyone else is just like him and will understand.
Whowever put Julia together they probably did not intend to put the whole picture together so well. She does not need a face or personality. All that matters is her gratitude to the one person who has provided her with everything.
I have to ask: Were Obama’s composite girlfriends also inflatable?
The minions are enraptured with the cult of personality.

Good article Janine and I agree with you. Most of my women friends look at Obama as a man who is lacking in testosterone. For God’s sake, he can’t even throw a baseball like a man and have you ever seen him ride a bike? That cute little helmet looks so feminine sitting on his head.
I think women really are tired of Obama exploiting them for personnal gain. This is the age of strong, independent women who don’t like men meddling in our personnal business nor our reproductive issues. Most of us are smart enough to realize that free birth control pills would not protect us from STD’s. Perhaps Obama will talk the insurance companies into providing us with free condoms next, ya think?
Obama uses imaginary characters because he is lacking in real life experiences. I think he has often been referred to as the “loner president.” I do not personally know any women who intend to vote for Obama. My friends and I have agreed that Obama needs to get off the playground and go back to the classroom.
What woman really wants to vote for a man that reminds us of a child? I reference back to the playground and remember the little boy who always got into trouble; all the while pointing his finger and saying “teacher, teacher he did it,” blaming the other kid.

An awful lot of the “liberals” (whom I prefer to call “New Puritans” because once I would have been described as a liberal) whom I know did vote for Obama so that they could say they voted for a “black” president, and will vote for him again either because he’s playing for the Democrat team or because they have to support the “black” president. They actually did “hope” for a “change” in the level of viciousness in the public debate, and don’t see that it’s the Dems who have been particularly vicious, now, as in the past. But there’s also the awful tendency of my age group (vote for McGovern) who seem to feel it’s a good idea to have college professors in government.
