Thats a well thought out proposition Ali, but you should consider the instability your plan will create.

Instability is the goal for any society targeted by terrorists. Since they dont have an army big enough to take over, they hope by destabilizing the victim's country they can seize control in the chaos.

Besides, terrorism is designed to shake their opponents into doing something rash like what you suggest.

Your argument reminds me of the Democrats who suggested that the most effective strategy in Iraq was to withdraw and fight from over-the-horizon bases. They have been proven wrong in spades!

Its called giving up the initiative to the enemy and putting your faith in God. Thats not a very effective tactic.

But thanks for your insight into the situation in Pakistan. I appreciate your point of view.

Contrary to Eteraz's claim, Mansoor Ijaz suggests that "Musharraf set up an independent international investigation surrounding the killing of Ms. Bhutto" not that the US should call for Musharraf to do so.

An independent internatonal investigation sounds like a good idea, but I have no idea how practical it is in terms of Pakistani politics, and I'm not keen on it as something the United States "must" do.

Given that Pakistanis accord Bin Laden a 46% approval rating, I'm not sure how receptive they would be to such an investigation or how likely they are to conclude that the "US is looking out for them."

Morton: I agree, the Islamic societies are completly disfunctional, and our leaders are completly blind and delusional; the insane migration policy, appeasment towards Palestinians, lack of will towards Iran (which is used by Mr. Putin as pawn in his little cold war against the West), multiculturalistic dreams of delusion about "multi-culti" social experiment, post-modern cultural disarmanent of West etc. etc. I had enought of this!

Sorry for laughing at your idea, but it's high time we stop listening to Muslim expats who devise all kinds of crazy schemes requiring America to take responsibility to fix their derelict nations of origin. Muslims hate us because we're not Muslim. It's part of their religion to hate the "infidel". They'd never accept some kind of ludicrous American sponsored "audit" any more than they'll ever truly accept the separation of mosque and state, or Western notions of human rights.

Pakistani Muslims and Islam are solely responsible for the hideousness we see today in Pakistan. Let the Muslims fix Islam. Let the Muslims stop putting that impossible task on our shoulders, for when such crazy schemes inevitably fail, we know the Muslims will blame us for their failure once again. Already Islamic media is blaming Bhutto's death on the policies of George Bush and America.

Will the Muslims ever take responsibility in this world for their antisocial uncivilized actions and their cesspool societies?

That is an interesting bit of political judo you suggest. The main problem I see is that NATO forces in Afghanistan are supplied through Pakistan, and only through Pakistan. If we lose Pakistan, we cannot hold Afghanistan.
