Apologizing for Obama’s Serial Apologies

The next president will have to embark once again on a worldwide “reset” campaign, apologizing to America’s allies for the shabby treatment meted out to them by Obama.

As we all know by this time, judging from President Obama’s junket behavior and his endless nostrae culpae, America is probably the most flawed, aggressive, and insensitive nation on the face of the earth, bar none. It is guilty, we’ve been informed, of harboring the mistaken notion of historical exceptionalism, which it supposedly does not merit. It is guilty of imposing its imperial will on other countries and peoples without regard for their economic well-being and without the slightest consideration for their cultural structures, beliefs, and presuppositions. It has identified as an “axis of evil” nations which may have had legitimate grievances. It has been, apparently, a blundering hegemon riding roughshod over the planet, prosecuting wars it had no business starting in the first place, alienating nations it could have dealt with diplomatically, and wreaking misery and havoc when, with both insight and foresight, it might have brought peace and mutual understanding among needless belligerents. It has a dark past to purge and much to apologize for. So goes the current presidential narrative. And under Obama, it has indeed apologized, and done so with a vengeance, presumably redeeming its sullied image for all posterity.

Thus Obama has apologized to the UN for America’s propensity to “act alone” rather than take the road of multilateral consultation, a claim which is patently false. Obama has apologized to Europe for failing “to appreciate Europe’s leading role in the world” and for being arrogant, “even derisive.” Obama has apologized to Islam for having misprised, neglected, or demeaned the Muslim world and for grinding the umma beneath its colonial boot, and is now seeking pardon in the hope of restoring the harmony of “20 or 30 years ago” — which of course never existed. Obama has apologized to Turkey for “difficulties” and “strained” trust over “these past few years” — the same Turkey that is moving inexorably into the Iranian orbit of influence. Obama has apologized, through State Department spokesman P.J. Crowley, to Libyan despot Muammar Gaddafi for offensive remarks clumsily delivered. Dispatching his adviser Valery Jarrett to the World Economic Forum in Davos, Obama has apologized by proxy to the entire planet for America’s role in the economic meltdown. Obama effectively apologized to Japan for the way in which the war in the Pacific theater was brought to an end. Obama has apologized to Russia by other means, offering to press the “reset” button, as per the hapless Hillary Clinton. Via his mouthpiece Assistant Secretary of State Michael Posner, Obama has apologized to China, perhaps the world’s worst human rights offender, for Arizona’s entirely legitimate new immigration law. Obama’s Magical History Tour shows no sign of ever folding its tent and returning, however belatedly, to the real world or to the realm of national dignity.

As ever, it falls to adults to repair the tantrums of children.

Mr. Solway CAN’T be serious. Since when is international politics an extension of nursery school? When a spiteful little boy (the President), backed up and urged on by his gang of other spiteful children (the “Democratic” Congress, Media and academy Stars), tells lies outside the school/ family for some reason, the “teacher” must apologize /make amends for the lies? International politics is hard ball / cricket. Players, and the Captains of the Teams are adults. Being adults there can be little doubt that, while dismayed at the clear derangement of the behaviours of “leaders” of the USA, recognise them as deranged, outre’. The leaders/diplomats shall use such behaviours for whatever advanatage and however thay can. Those ARE the RULES of that game.Even were this not the reality, USA should apologise for lapse to those it has succoured and defended for over 60 years at great cost in money and blood to the American People? What further costs should such an “apology” entail for Americans? The only “apology” required is for America to return to being herself: the model and the last great hope for mankind to her citizens and the world. Accept and cherish her strength in her People and her principles. Show she has emerged from the dark tunnel into which she followed the saboteurs called” liberals” / democrats / “revolutionaries of the 1960s”. To RETURN to herself and her principles is all that is necessary. No more. And then observe the relief of the other players in the game to know that RELIABLE/ GENEROUS AMERICA is once more guarding the FREE wORLD

      • Sick of it

Amen, however, parents must apologize for the destructive behavior of their children. The American electorate is like the parent and the current crop of liberals running our country is like a completely out of control child. Our paddle will be the November elections (I hope).

  2. 2. Indigo

No apology will be necessary, just relief that he is gone.

    • Praetorian

It’s gonna be a long 6 years for you.

      • fireyourguns

And an even longer one for you!

      • Dave II

No…it will only SEEM like 6 years!!!

        2 years, 5+ months…tops.

This guy is a classic one-termer if there ever was one!

        • Anne

I hope this is the case.

HOWEVER!!! There is no accounting for people that vote color and party over common sense, love of America and executive experience.

At this point I see one or two people that I would vote for.

It’s the people that put the “unqualified apologist” into office that we need to watch for and speak with as often as possible..

If Obama and his people “are not” replaced, i fear for our freedoms in America.

          • jojo

Second thoughts on the article, a summary through Obama’s acts of the sabotage of America by the “liberals” and “Democratic” Party in earnest since the 1960s.
THE CULMINATION by a set of electors of a “Manchurian President”. The propaganda for compassion and fairness from politicians, establishment Media/Hollywood, educational institutions, churches from nursery school through university. The basic tool Orwellian CHANGE of language and meanings, e.g. compassion and fairness in truth repression (political correctness) and special group rights in a nation which in law does not recogise “group” rights. The name Liberal, in truth power hungry, unprincipled thugs. Aided and abetted by their representatives in Legislature, Court and Executive with abridgment of Rights protected by the Constitution they are all bound to defend and UPHOLD. Supported by “news” from the print and TV Media, beginning in the Vietnam War with their often FALSE reports, and the beginning and escalating of the trashing of America, her actions throughout the world throughout her history, especialy the Christian foundation and her military. While at the same time silence about dictators who starved, imprisoned and murdered their citizens in the hundreds of millions for political expediency. Obama, the “manchurian President” because the American People were the “manchurian people” by deliberate training. brainwashing from their “betters”, the “elite” the priests of the religion of totalitarianism. How could any population withstand insistent, constant, ubiquitous propaganda and not fall into the mantrap set by these traitors to the American Ethos, Principles and Law. And so, the choice of Obama. HOPE must be the weapon that Americans have awakened from the nightmare seduction of these false saviours.

  3. 3. vb

I am thoroughly ashamed of many if not most of Obama’s actions, BUT there are others out there who should also be examining their consciences. Obama was elected in part as a response to 8 years of rampant anti-Americanism, both at home and abroad. There were 8 years of complaints about every thing America did that were unaccompanied by concrete suggestions for better approaches to hard problems. Any apologies should go hand in hand with a challenge to put aside childish utopian dreams. America needs adult partners, not people enthralled by Code Pink protests and stranded polar bears.

    • Harry

I absolutely agree. One of the thoughts that helps me make it through this time is the realization that there are a lot of people that voted for Obama that have lost jobs, savings, etc. Good. They deserve to suffer for their stupidity.

  4. 4. Deadman

nostra culpae? the original phrase is ablative, meâ culpâ—“by my fault”—so the plural form, “by our fault”, must be either nostra culpa or nostris culpis. I suggest that “his endless nostra culpae” would read better as “his endless repetition of nostra culpa.”
    Obama abstrahendus est.

    • Thomas_L.....

Romans Go Home! Come to think of it, some things never change. Eventually there was tremendous pressure from “progressive” members of Og’s cave to apologize to the other cavemen for inventing the wheel.

Anyone who can deconstruct and explain proper use of Latin has my admiration. Your brief discussion reminds me why I was fascinated, frustrated and defeated by two years of Latin in high school. I passed both classes, motivated by terror that I might not. Not.good.memories:)

      • Larry in the Silicon

I had three years of Latin and actually enjoyed it. Looking back, I realize it should have been a warning sign. :)

      • michiganruth

I agree! and in addition to my admiration for Latin, I note that you don’t see this kind of discussion on liberal sites. pajamas.com, as far as I can tell, seems to be inhabited by some pretty smart people.

    • Tom Perkins

“The above comment is seditious and probably illegal. It should be deleted.”

      A) The truth is never seditious.
      B) It may be neccessary, I wouldn’t put it past him to attempt to remain in office illegally.

      http://pajamasmedia.com/blog/apologizing-for-obamas-serial-apologies/?replytocom=564176#comment-564176

The above comment was not posted where I intended it to be, I apologize for that. May I inquire how you would make a motto of the concept, “for the nation’s founders’ faith”?

  5. The next president will have to apologize to our allies, that is, assuming we have any allies left by 2012. The next time anyone, anyone, tells you that executive experience isn’t necessary for being president, just point to Obama to see what you’ll get. Not a pretty sight, is it? Obama makes Jimmy Carter look like Churchill.

Elections do have consequences, ladies and gentlemen. How’s that Hope and Change working for you now?

    • david zimmerman

The US has been a rubber crutch as an ally since Dulles ignored the pleas for help from Hungary, when Hungary threw off the Russian yoke at our insistence. I fear for Taiwan. We do have a treaty to defend them. After Obama, what country would depend on us for support when the chips are down?

      • Ask the South Vietnamese how “reliable” an “ally” the United States is. I wonder if we’ll be seeing helicopters flying off the roof of the US embassy in Kabul soon? I give it another 12 months. Let’s hope Israel doesn’t need any help soon, either.

        • T.

LIBERTYSHIP— With respect, over 15 years of fighting and dying in that pathetic little backwater, losing over 60,000 of our finest, and you say that this country fell short of the mark in some way?I hope no South Vietnamese ever tells me that, because to me the fact that we lost that war was because the people we were susposed to be fighting for were never bothered a whole lot by the idea of living under communism. If they had been, the war would have been won in three years time. That war ripped this nation apart, took the lives of a lot of good men,and cost us a ton of money. It seems to me that people like yourself, just once, would say that you are really proud of your country’s effort but if the folks you are trying to help do not have their heart in the game then you have to give it up. Afghanistan is no different. We could continue that war for fifty years, and the end result will be the same. We owe our fighting men and women the promise that we will never again send them off to an impossible war.We are soon going to be made to understand ,that for mankinds sake Islam will have to be rolled back and utterly destroyed. It’s coming, and we will not defeat this most evil of all evils by wasting time, money, and the lives of our military in long, drawn out and useless little wars that wear us down.We have to learn to pick our battles, use ALL of the tools in our toolbox, and be completly ruthless,or we will fail.T.

          • You miss my point, though. The United States never should have been in Vietnam in the first place. I’ve always believed that and I always will. It was the wrong place to take a major stand against communism and, as you said, the South Vietnamese never seemed to have the will to defeat communism.

Having said that, our government consistently seems to have the knack for going into countries like Vietnam, propping up some local government that has no popular support, and then, when things go bad, we throw the people who supported us there under the bus when we eventually leave. South Vietnam fell because Congress refused to keep funding that war, even after we left. Iran was another good example. We supported the Shah and then, when things looked bad, we threw him to the dogs as well. The point is, a large number of the people who supported us in South Vietnam and Iran were left to their fate to face the horrors that followed.

This is the way things are looking in Afghanistan right now. We went in for the best of reasons, but once we made our point and killed as many of al Qaeda and the Taliban as possible, we should have left, just as Lord Roberts of Kandahar did with the British over 100 years ago. But no, we had to go “nation building” and now we’re in as deep as you can get, with no end in site. I believe Obama when he says we’re going to start pulling troops out next year. But, once that happens, what do you think is going to happen to all of the people in Afghanistan who supported us (especially the women)? I would not place any bets on how long they’re going to live. It will turn into a rout and, once again, you will see helicopters on the roof of our embassy in Kabul.

We have the bravest troops in the world. We have, bar none, the best equipment in the world. Our armed forces can defeat any foe. But when will it be before our civilian government learns that nation building in certain parts of the world is useless and that it usually ends badly? Our armed forces should be used for fighting and making a deadly point, not as social workers, private construction contractors, or government bureaucrats. They should go in and descimate our enemies and then leave, not try to re-build a tribal nation that is still stuck in the Twelfth Century.

So if I was misunderstood, I’m sorry for that. But as long as our civilian government continues this stupid policy of nation building, we’re going to see a lot more helicopters flying off the roofs of our embassies.

While he ( the pretender-n-theif-obama) can go around a bow to every dictator in his presence, I will not acknowledge him being an American, let alone MY president. I voted for the REAL AMERICAN. I will not suffer any lack of sleep over his precieved ills of my countrymen/ladies. He has simply made me resolve in exposing him for the fraud he shows us to be on a daily basis. Now if We the People had adults Representing our interest they would immediatley have a session on the basis for impeachment. The term ” for high crimes and misdemeanors” simply tell us, We the People, have the right and indeed, the obligation to remove a sitting president if he/she is endangering the well being of these United States or OUR Constitution. Let him apologize for whatever he wants, I’ll never apologize for my effort to have him peaceably and or if necessary, forcefully removed from a position he is usurping. I swore an Oath to protect and defend the Constitution of the United Staates against all enemies, foreign and domestic. No one has the authority to relieve me of this obligation I freely made-period.

    • david zimmerman

Semper Fi. While we all look forward to November with anticipation, I fear hanky panky by SEIU, ACORN, or whoever. We may be forced into a course of action that calls for your passion. Let’s hope not.

    • PA BRED

I made the same Oath and served 27 years in the Submarine Force. One question that I keep asking myself is when is the line crossed such that someone is categorized as a domestic enemy.

      • Bogdan from Australia

It has already been crossed, PA BRED. In America and here in EUNUCHALIA as well…

    • Marine Combat Vet

Where were you sir when the Constitution was literally trampled on Bush/Cheney and the Sec’y Defense Rumsfeld. And who gave you the right to define American. By your statement to remove the President of The United States of America by any means failing “peaceful”, you’ve defined yourself as treasonous. And yes, like it or not he IS your President, duly elected by the population of this Great Nation. I don’t agree with everything this President has done, and if a better candidate comes along, I’ll cast my vote appropriately…Republican, Democrat, Independent, or Libertarian. But you sir, in my humble opinion, discredit yourself and and the uniform I proudly wore.

  7. 7. Baloney

The last thing America needs is another weak minded apologizer dragging us further down into the muck of International Socialistic Liberalism.

    • Jamie W.

Agreed. We need a CinC who speaks softly and carries a big stick – better NOT apologize for the wrongheaded apologies, but rather go around quietly putting things back in order – and using a big stick to beat the first country that crosses him/her into mushy jello. Knock the pee out of the first wolf that attacks, and the others will keep a safe distance.

THEN we can put our house into order.

      • Carl Sesar

        Jamie W. @ 7

        Well put!

But if our next CinC does feel a need to apologize to our friends for Obama’s serial apologies, that’s all well and good. The irony is, he or she had better follow the sterling example of our otherwise walking and talking giant Big Lie of a president, and back up those apologies with concomitant deeds. Obama told no lies when he apologized to our enemies; he proceeded to weaken America, and he did a bang-up job of it, too. So likewise, our next president mustn’t go around mumbling empty mea culpas to our friends, but follow through on them: in other words, as you suggest, take quick, decisive action against deadly enemies for a change.

  8. 8. Delia

There aren’t enough mea culpas in the WORLD to make up for the LLMD in the WH.

Forgettabowit it, I’m watching “I love Lucy” episodes on a loop and plugging my ears and praying for the best but fearing the worst. It’s a crappy position to be in, but, it beats dying a little inside every damned day. Hmph!

  9. 9. Joe

There are some good people coming along who would be excellent presidential material, Romney, Jindal, (if not now, in the future), Pawlenty, people who have proven track records at actually governing! Think the Tea Party Movement is pretty important and this may change the future of politics. The Establishment Republicans, and by that I mean the ones who think they have signed on for a lifetime job, with very little real concern for their constituencies better think twice. No lukewarm Republicans are going to be elected this year or in 2012, I don’t think.

  10. 10. junius

Hope your faith in the ultimate good sense and moral values of Americans does kick in and this Marxist disaster and his lawless minions in the Democrat Party are swept from office for good. We can, with upright and steadfast leaders, quickly resume our rightful place in the world as the greatest nation ever to exist on this planet, morally, economically and militarily. I too believe that America will rise from its current ashes, resume its path to greatness, and that the best of times are ahead for our country.

By the way Tom McClintock (my congressman) is indeed impressive and would make an outstanding President to lead us in these dangerous times.

  11. 11. tanstaafl

I’d like to know how and why any president coming into office has the right to speak negatively to and about the nature of the history of the US to the rest of the world. In Obama’s case, it is simply one man’s biased opinion (shared, of course, by many of his appointees) the opinion of an ideologue, and not at all in his job description to speak of American “arrogance” & to pre-select and emphasize what are, in his personal view, instances of American un-exceptionalism to the world.

The Muslims & Arabs Obama would coddle & to whom Obama would appeal value strength, not weakness. Obama speaking in an Arab country, dissing his “tribe”, America, is something that isn’t done in their cultures (Fouad Ajami).

Apparently, Obama doesn’t much value the document he swore to uphold, seeing it as some kind of outmoded agreement crafted by old white men who simply didn’t understand his own evolving brilliant idea that government must play a huge role in the life of the individual. The facts are, however, that the Founders understood all too well the perils of over-arching government and made their biggest effort to craft a structure & organization of power that would keep the federal government in check…limited in powers, limited in scope.

…(Tom McClintock )sanely refusing to apologize to Mexican President Felipe Calderón, who objected to the Arizona immigration law

You’d think Calderon would have better things to do than be a mouthpiece for the Obama administration while being wined & dined in DC, what with all the slaughtering going on daily in Mexico.

Mort Zuckerman, US News & World Report…

The Obama presidency has so far been characterized by a well-intentioned but excessive belief in the power of rhetoric with too little appreciation of reality and loyalty….. there is a sense that there is something amateurish and even incompetent about how Obama is managing U.S. power. …They (Arab leaders) did not see Obama or his administration as understanding the region, where naiveté is interpreted as a weakness of character, as amateurism, and as proof of the absence of the tough stuff of which leaders are made.

    as for the far east…

“We in Asia are convinced that Obama is not strong enough to confront his opponents, but we fear that he is not strong enough to support his friends.”

  12. 12. Jarvis

    nostrae

  13. 13. bill-tb

I think Obama has made such a fool of himself that no one listens anymore … He is like America’s vuvuzela, just an irritating sound you try and get as far away from as you can.

  14. 14. Carmelo Junior

Obama got lucky. He ran for senator against an unatractive black opponent and won. Ran against an old full of baggage former first lady and won and ran against an old, boring white man and won.

In 2012 he might face a young, historic, appealing and charismatic opponent.

His good luck in politics stops in 2012.

    • Praetorian

Actually, 2012 is when he will be handily re-elected. Don’t kid yourself. Charismatic? Who do you have in mind? Whoever they are they will have to win by going way beyond the traditional base of angry white (and largely old) conservatives. Who in the GOP lineup right now do you suppose can do this? Can they appeal to hispanic voters, one of the fastest growing blocks? There isn’t anyone on the horizon. Money will be a big factor. Obama will crush any opponent in fundraising like we have never seen. I’ll be out there working for Obama along with lots and lots of energetic young people. We are the future. Not you, and we will decide what kind of America we want. You want a war, we’ll give you one. We aren’t backing down.

      • chambers

Bring it on! It’s interesting that you choose the moniker “Praetorian.” As we all recall the Praetorian Guard was the corrupt bodyguard for a succession of ever more corrupt Roman Emporers beginning with Tiberius. They were adept at raising money and crushing opponents as well. Principle was unknown to them. Power was the only thing that mattered. They murdered a number of their emporers in the first and second centuries AD. If you’re in his camp then Obama should watch his back. Quite a revealing insight into the mind of a troll.

      • fireyourguns

Oooh, another cartilaginous keyboard combatant spewing archaic liberal venom through cyberspace. How cute! Here’s a few morsels for you to nibble on tough guy, contrary to what you obviously believe, not all of you young turks are Democrats (surprise!), hispanics are becoming increasingly disenchanted, and are under no obligation to this administration or to liberals in general, instead favoring a more cognizant, independent thought, and most importantly, you only get one vote… just like this “old white conservative”! Now, feel free to take your plastic pail and shovel, and go play in the sand!

        • babysam

“You only get one vote”. Maybe not, if the 1960 election in Chicago as precursor to the 2008 election in Chicago is anythihg to go by.

      • Daniel Lions Den

At the rate Obama and his gang are destroyimg the country there won’t be anyone left to vote for him. Remember, Praetorian, Rome was destroyed from within, not by military attacks. Here in America, the Vandals are well inside the city gates. Hope you enjoy the Mad Max lifestyle comin’ soon!

      • Dave Surls

“We are the future. Not you, and we will decide what kind of America we want. You want a war, we’ll give you one.”

Yeah, that’s what the Democrat traitors said in 1860 too…right before they got their brains beat out.

Some things never change, I reckon.

      • babysam

You needn’t go so far back as the fall of Rome. Take a look at the film Cabaret. The scene in the rural gasthaus in which the “young” are featured. The star of the scene the beautiful young male. Note the other young who then stand with this star in the song, Tomorrow Belongs To Me. Then catch your breath as the camera pans down the body of this beautiful icon of aryan youth to show his wearing the uniform of the Hitler Jugend (Hitler Youth) Nuff said?

    • steve

Carmela makes this anti-white racist remark – “[Obama]ran against an old, boring white man and won. In 2012 he might face a young, historic, appealing and charismatic opponent”.

Whate does being white have to do with it? I despise John McCain but I have less time for your derogatory remarks about white men. Take your anti-white BS and shove it.

  15. 15. Brenda G

And who, in our crop of hopefuls possess not only a strong conservative domestic agenda but has the charisma to to right the wrongs Obama has done to us internationally?

    • Anne

      The best question yet.

although at this point…it won’ take a lot of charisma..just a good person with a good background. Personally, I haven’t seen him/her.

We’re had enough of the charisma that the left chose.

It was color over substance in electing Obama. No executive experience is so telling!!!

  16. 16. Larry in the Silicon

Good for you. How many social security cards does the man have, by the way? Isn’t possessing more than one actually indicative of at least one felony?

  17. 17. David Solway

    Dear Deadman

Thanks for the pointer. I was thinking of using as variant of in culpa versari (to be at fault) but settled instead for the nominative plural, which struck me as appropriate in the context. I hope it works.

    David

    • Deadman

Fair enough; but nostrae culpae is then required, because adjectives must agree with their nouns in case and number.
I thank you for your reply.

  18. 18. Elsie Jay

While I agree that the next President will have a definite mission in the reset department, I, and I assume many others, have been writing to foreign embassies, to the head of state and the people of the nation involved, as an unimportant American, apologizing for Obama’s behavior and comments. I have written to the UK and Israel most often. I know it does nothing on an international level, but at least these nations know the we the people disagree with our President. I generally get a diplomatically worded thank you in return. The job of repairing our relations with other countries will be huge, but we can all do a little to help. Send ‘em an email.

  19. 19. Believer

While the younger, promising, and truly conservative pols gain experience and political maturity, Newt is my choice to hold their place. I’d pay a month’s wages to be in the front row of a presidential debate between him and Obama. Those debates have the potential to make the Reagan/Carter debates appear fair.

  20. 20. Roark

It just goes to show that ANY half-witted twit can become President.

  21. 21. miriam rove

he will get re elected.. for sure.. who is going to beat him?

    • MarkTheGreat

If his approval ratings are at the levels we see today in 2012, just about anybody who suceeds in drawing breath 9 times out of 10 will be able to beat him.

If his approval ratings continue to drop at the pace they have over the last 6 months, even that requirement may be optional.

  22. 22. Joseph

    6. Ret. Marine “Let him apologize for whatever he wants, I’ll never apologize for my effort to have him peaceably and or if necessary, forcefully removed from a position he is usurping.”

The above comment is seditious and probably illegal. It should be deleted.

    • Tom Perkins

“The above comment is seditious and probably illegal. It should be deleted.”

      A) The truth is never seditious, it can be patriotic, however.
      B) It may be neccessary, I wouldn’t put it past him to attempt to remain in office illegally.

    • Charlie Martin

I think we’d get more excited about it had we not seen what was accepted as mainstream commentary (eg Olbermann) elsewhere.

In any case, the comment policy doesn’t list “sedition” as forbidden.

  23. There’s as much chance of Obama running in 2012 as Keith Olbermann admitting he’s gay.

    Remote.

Chalk it up to a girl’s intuition, but lil’ ol’ blond haired, blue eyed Rachel doesn’t think there’s a fisherman’s chance that little o will run again.

Actually, my first hint that Obama was planning on being a one hit wonder (I do love the Swingin’ Medallion’s version of ‘one shot’) was the Holder/Obama comment about cowardly white men. When was that swine’s line uttered? Two weeks into the administration? Anyhoots, some time later it was followed up by the famous Cambridge Crowley incident that made no sense, except as a decision by Obama to chuck some red meat to his libtard voter base. The bold faced, unapologetic lie about earmarks I first thought was simply a political bonehead play, but then I realized Obama was becoming the main screw in a patten of nose thumbing gestures directed at most of America. Naturally, Zero’s poll numbers started falling like blind roofers. But Obama seemed to care as much about diving poll numbers as Tiger Woods cares about the dollar menu at McDonald’s.

Hiring the NAMBLA lover, Kevin Jennings, and, hyper-ironically, making him the school safety Czar convinced me that this administration’s nose thumbing at basic American values wasn’t about to stop. If anybody thought Obama cared what the public thought or the polls said, the case dropping of the voter intimidating Black Panther pukes had to be a mental jolt. For it represented a huge ObamaStatement regarding the sanctity of the right to vote as Obama perceived it. Ordinarily, Obama and Holder would have been lynched in every newspaper across the land. But today’s mainstream media has the ethics of a child molester. They were too busy cueing up for plum government jobs or daydreaming about blowing off an afternoon and meeting Obama in the tunnel of love at the old Palisades Park.

Filling Czar posts with Marxists, and one admittedly proud Communist, Jeff Jones, in my mind at least, confirmed the fact that Obama didn’t give a hoot and a holler what anybody thought. He was grabbing America by the short hairs and laughing about it. What made the ObamaBoys really happy was what Obama described as the dire economic crisis America was in.

Obama, naturally, failed to say that it was Democrats like Barney Frank who forced banks to lend money to the poor side of town, people with no intention of paying it back. We know it as the sub-prime mess. Obama lied that we needed to pass the Stimulus Bill post haste. In truth, Obamabits wanted so bad to get his mitts on all that dough he could taste it.

The sub-prime fiasco justified Obama stuffing much of the 1.3 trillion Stimulus and Jobs bill dollars into political pals and supporters’ pockets; their off shore bank accounts. One method of “losing money” was sending it to state districts that don’t exist only to hear from the bureaucrats supposed to track the money that they had no idea what had become of it. Generally, the news boys run with stories like this, but our news boys pray at the anointed one’s feet. Generally, this type of corruption would also get noticed by the President’s Attorney General. But we have a President who’s hobby is ignoring laws he disagrees with, and had the foresight to hire an attorney general with the moral compass of a pickpocket.

ObamaCare represented an astronomical giveaway in jobs and dollars slickly peeled from taxpayer wallets. This was the brass ring that Obama wanted in the worst way. And our constitutional teaching lawyer President got it passed using patently unconstitutional methods. Fact is, ObamaCare is the constitutional equivalent of taxing people for being born.

Bla, bla, bla I could go on and on building the case why I’m convinced there’s not a chance in hell Obama’s running again.

Today, though, for me, was the coupe de grace argument capper.

Obama told the Coast Guard to gin up reasons to stop oil-sucking ships from cleaning the Gulf. When the ships were told they couldn’t proceed, it sent Louisiana Governor, Bobby Jindal, off like a rocket. Said Bobby, “The Coast Guard came and shut them down,” ‘Cease and desist. Stop sucking up that oil.’” The reasons the Coast Guard gave were insane. They said they needed to confirm that there were fire extinguishers and life vests on board, and then the Coast Guard said they had trouble contacting the people who built the barges. The barges finally got the go-ahead to return to work, after more than 24 hours of sitting idle. A fire extinguisher/life vest check? That’s like trying to save someone from a burning building and stopping to check if they’re taxes are paid. Insane.

Just between you and me, Mouseketeers, Obama couldn’t care less about oil balls in the Gulf. How many times do I have to say it till Hannity realizes it. Obama’s out not to transform this nation, but to destroy it. It’s like taking Macy’s and turning it into John’s Tap Room. It’s like looking at the Sistine Chapel and spray painting it with gang signs, from wall to ceiling.

When Hillary tells us all how proud she is to be the next Democratic candidate for President, I may not be able to say I told you so. By then, I may have thirty-five of the best Austrian psychiatrists thinking about me 24/7, 365 days a year.

I believe the admittedly proud communist to which you refer is named Van Jones.

“”but lil’ ol’ blond haired, blue eyed Rachel doesn’t think there’s a fisherman’s chance that little o will run again.”"

Rach, my dear,,, I’m certain Obama is counting on getting the official nod for another run in 2012, whether or not the Democraps are going to be so eager and generous remains to be seen come convention time. I hope your prediction is a good one. BTW, Rachael, I share the blond hair and blue eyes with you.

As for the 64,000 dollar question, I’ve been trying to sweet talk VDH for some time into running for office, considering he’s stopped returning my e-mails, I’ll take that as a “No”. And I’m mighty proud to see some serious minded Republican women working their way to the forefront of public attention. Not only are they smart and practical,,, they are easier on this old man’s eyes than Hillary or Obama. BTW, did mention that I think Sarah Palin is smokin’ hot~!

Well, the 2012 election campaigners will kick off in about 7 months and we will get a look at who runs out of the political barn first. Regardless, we do have more than a few interesting men and women sitting in the stables as I write this drivel. Huckabee is a good man, but there aren’t enough evangelicals out there to get him over the top. Mit Romney,,, he might have a tough time selling Mormonism, most Americans are turned off by religions that smack of secrets and cults. Mormonism strikes me that way. I really like Newt and I admire the brain in his head. Can anyone imagine what the debates would look like if we had a ticket of Newt and VDH, (in either order) to debate Billary or Biden, something tells me Obama would be in tears inside of 25 minutes and not show up for debates #’2 and 3. Of the VP slot next time around I like Ryan, he’s as sharp as a tack and is wayyyy more articulate that either Obama or (haha gaff-a-minute)Biden. Sarah Palin may surprise us with a run at the nomination, but I think her true forte is better spent picking winners in the local races. But if she runs, Ryan would be a super choice for a running mate.

In any case, the next Prez will probably inherit the GOM oil spill as Obama will have not got it plugged by then.

It’s not a coincidence that liberals[?] of a very low moral order apologize for their country. The arms seller/sex assaulter Bill Clinton traveled the world apologizing for America, usually as soon as his feet hit the tarmac. Now we have Obama, moral trash, fool, and America hater. Sick as they are leftists really believe they are of a superior moral type, it has something to do with a crazed faith in government, that only a greater intelligence can grasp.
The things that nuts tell themselves!

Hmm. Looks like America is really two nations, despite e pluribus unum. One nation votes “Democratic” for examples of probity and competence, beginning with the Kennedys, through LB Johnson, James E Carter. W.J.Clinton, Barack Obama and the wannabees John Kerry, John Edwards and Hillary Clinton. All honourable, credible persons , “who cannot tell a lie” with the “good of the people” as their intention. Who instituted a “war on poverty” at just about the same time, AND in the same Presidential Administration as the Vietnam War. Odd that they are LOSING the “war on poverty”. Their “war” for more than a half century, yet there are still a vast number of “poor people” who seem to vote “Democrat”.This “Democratic” Party also advertises itself as the “anti-war” Party. The “Peace” Party. Odd again that of all the wars fought by Americans in the 20th century ALL except the first Iraq War were initiated, engineered, developed and executed by Democratic Presidents, representing the “Peace” Party.
And the other nation who vote “Republican”.With Richard M. Nixon, the villain of villains for the “Democrats” with their historians in the academies, the publishing houses, establishment and entertainment Media for the history and myths of 20th century. They don’t show that this “Republican” President, who when trying to end the Vietman War, the creation of the Democrats, with a victory for the US was thwarted by a hostile Congress urged, aided and abetted by establishment, print and TV, and entertainment, Media; ORGANISED street and campus protests worldwide in the West, and “intellectuals and writers” all of the “Left” who made no secret of their preference for Marxism/ Leninism as THE political good. AND their contempt for Americans, her history, her ethos, the principles of freedom for the common man from obeisance to aristocrats, “elites”, and arbitrary power. And so BEGAN the CONTINUOUS lies, and the trashing of America and her military to this date. The upshot of this “crusade” this Republican President “carried the can” for the Vietnam War, and became the villain to counter the myth of the “Democratic” Camelot. After which there were Republican Presidents Gerald Ford, Ronald Reagan and George H and George W. Bush. Against whom the “Democrats” tried their old tricks. Even with the latter Bush trying a replay of Watergate. These presidents do not however promise to take care of all the problems of living, and receive votes only from persons who understand the American ethos, and respect THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES, that supports the true dignity of man in Independence.
Just for fun, why not compare the probity and credibility of these Republicans — even their villain Nixon — with the named “Democrats” , and if you like include others, e.g. the present Attorney General of Connecticut.

Obama is the end-product of nearly fifty years of leftist (not to say Marxist)revisionism and moral relativism in history and the social sciences. It’s fair to say that it is psychologically impossible for him to defend U.S. policy because his ingrained view is that the U.S. is responsible for every “bad” thing that has happened in the world since at least 1800. That might be a stimulating talking point in a faculty lounge but it has less relevance when you are called upon to guide a nation’s foreign policy. Apology is not just the President’s default mode – It is his only mode. As several commentators have noted he is the first person to hold the office of President who believes he is too good for the job. He has absolved himself for any share of America’s past (note – and only himself) and is convinced that the only sensible thing for an “enlightened” U.S. leader is to do is to grovel. He does it well. Turkey is only the most recent country to catch on to this.

As the French socialist and writer Jean Francoise Revel once observed…”Clearly, a civilization that feels guilty for everything it is and does will lack the energy and conviction to defend itself.” That describes today’s liberal impulse and the Obama foreign policy to a “T.”

Mrs. Peepers makes the right call, Baseball medaphor and all……

    Very well put…..

  27. 27. Tina Ferrer

As I travel extensively and our allies or at least the people have a clear perspective of what the American people are about, who they support, etc. Obama is merely an anomaly and they now know this as well.

  28. 28. baal

The lowest form of stupidity is weakness. Barack Obama is weakness incarnate. He is a sniveling, boot licking invertebrate. He doesn’t love this country, or really even like it. To guys like him, there is no Omaha Beach, only My Lai.
He is the product of post colonial studies and critical theory discussion groups populated by Lenin’s useful idiots.

As dismaying as the fact that the Tent Revival Con Man is now ensconced in the White House may be, our real problem is our Weak Kneed and Corrupt Republican Party. The reason that this Trojan Horse got through the gates was due to the country’s awe at the spectacle of The Corruption of the Delay Congress and the Incompetence of the Bush Administration.

We need to get rid of these guys in our ranks! Our house has got to be put into order. Paul Ryan, Rand Paul, and Gov Christie are a Good Start–but where is the cerebral fighter that can take back the white house? It’s not Palin, because she’s simply not articulate enough. Romney? Well, I hope he finds his balls soon or we are in a world of hurt.

    • Larry in the Silicon

Maybe it’s Allan West from Florida, the Army Colonel who got tossed from his command because he scared an Iraqi who was providing info to those trying to kill West’s troops. I believe he got fined 25K as well. First he has to win for Congress in November. Probably someone like this is needed to oppose the current insanity.

Also he is black so if Obama gets the nomination he won’t be able to play the race card.

      • ElisaPardo

Allan West is very impressive. Here’s a possible ticket: Chris Christie/Allan West, or West/Christie, for that matter. (Bolton for Secretary of State, Palin, Department of Energy.)
The platform slogan: Liberty versus Socialism. Liberty has different meanings for the constitution-loving Tea Partiers and Libertarians, but the word would capture the all-important votes of the Independents. Socialism: can we name the enemy for a change?
I, too, fear SEIU thugs, voting fraud, and illegal third term shenanigans.

        • Bob From Virginia

Why is it no one mentions the governor of Indiana, what’s his name, the one who turned a bottomless deficit into a mountainous surplus. Sounds pretty impressive to me. Not that it makes much of a difference, by 2012 a handful of gravel will be able to devastate Obama.

  29. 29. DOUG

This low-life is the most disgraceful president this country has ever had! He will go down in history as a socialist who stole the election of 2008.

  30. 30. Eric R.

Mr. Solway, your article is based on a faulty premise….

That there will even BE a next President.

  31. 31. cfbleachers

When you adopt the narrative of the long time enemies of America, you would believe that we have done nothing worthy of praise and everything worthy of disdain.

There is hardly a dust mite’s difference between and among the narratives about America from the lips of William Ayers, Osama Bin Laden, Hugo Chavez…and virtually any garden variety homegrown leftist radical (often mischaracterized as “liberals”).

When you relate to America from this myopic and diseased worldview, it should come as no surprise that the Apology Tour has so many whistlestops.

If you share this mental disease, you see Obama as the Genuflecting Genius, an oracle Orator, the sincere savant

If, however, you happen not to suffer from acid flashbacks or otherwise don’t live a toxic life of self-loathing, you understand that our own President going around the world apologizing for those of us who actually lived here and were raised here and love the country…and know how many states there are…we might want to elect someone who reflects the views of our countrymen, rather than its permanent enemies.

  32. 32. KSmith

In observing and thinking about Obama, I can’t decide whether, on the one hand, he is incompetent (or perhaps suffering from some psychological trauma) or, on the other hand, he is crazy like a fox, creating and nurturing crises in the Alinsky mode as a way to bring the nation to ruin so as to gain a more thorough-going power.
But I am sure he is not an American–neither technically (his place of birth) nor in sympathy. He clearly dispises the nation and its history.

  33. 33. David Solway

    Dear Deadman

Thanks for the correction. It’s mea culpa here. I had the plural in my handwritten manuscript but transcribed it faultily. I’m prone to typos, as many of my editors are aware. I studied Latin for enough years in university to know my grammar but never transcended two-finger typing and am terrible at proof-reading. Thanks also to Jarvis #12. I’m in a state of considerable embarrassment over this unintentional solecism.

      David Solway @ 33

“I studied Latin for enough years to know my grammar . . .”

Don’t worry about it, you made a mistake — nobody can say Latin is easy — someone helped you out with it, and now you know better. You have a good attitude, write a good article, and, hanc ad munditiem adde mundiorem — to top off all of these good things yet — you turn out books of poetry besides! So here’s some of mine . . .

No need to apologize and no need for so many talking. Let his or her acts talk.
Better a serious, realistic, practical executive president which by doing his job exhibits a model and lesson of real world approach in contrast with jabbering rethoric on virtual level.
I would recommend next president to keep his words counted and use this option only for significant affirmations.

Were it not for the new media such as PJM the U.S. would already be down for the count. This new forum came along in the nick of time and ultimately it will be what saves us. I am angry at a lot of people who brought this curse of an administration on us, but mainly I am angry and disgusted beyond words at the mainstream media who have been Obama’s main cheerleaders. Even when he was overseas trashing this country they always seemed to have nothing but praise for his so-called diplomacy.

    • jojo

WHY are you surprised at discovery of the clear, not to say arrogant bias of the establlshment-”mainstream” media including Hollywood, NPR and PBR. The arrogance and dieu et mon droit attitudes were ALWAYS a part of these groups within living memory. And would still be the case were it not for the INTERNET, a tollgate they do not control. PEOPLE WHO WANT A VOICE CREATED THE MEANS ON THIS TRANSPORT SYSTEM. It’s obvious the MSM absolutely HATES this freedom for ordinary Americans. The danger is that these arrogant “elites/royalists” should try to limit this true VOICE OF AMERICA via the “representatives of the People” and the bureaucracy. They are already hinting at just that. Another reason to CHANGE the membership of Congress, Court and Executive, and HOPE to get Americans – who do “care about the Constitution” as members.

    Dear Catullus (Carl Cesar?)

    1)’Tweren’t a mistake; ’twas a typo.

    2) Excellent stuff you’re doing. Personally, I prefer Horace–you know, usque ego postera crescam laude recens, etc.–but you’ve got your Catullus down pat.

    Dear David Solway.

Sesar it is. That was a mistake, not a typo–though Cesar does have a historic ring about it, for someone doctis Iuppiter et laboriosis.
