A Cordoba-Iranian connection? What exactly is “Islamicity”?
More questions have arisen about the attempt to build a mosque adjacent to Ground Zero, as part of the so-called Cordoba Initiative. In particular, why has the Cordoba website just removed a photograph of Iranian Mohammad Javad Larijani, secretary-general of the High Council for Human Rights in Iran? Is the move an attempted cover-up of their Iranian connections?
Two weeks ago the Cordoba Initiative website featured a photograph of the project’s chairman, Imam Faisal Abdul Rauf, and Iranian Mohammad Javad Larijani at an event that the Initiative sponsored in Malaysia in 2008. This week, the photograph, which appears below, has disappeared.
Larijani was the Iranian representative who defended Iran’s abysmal human rights record before the UN Human Rights Council in February and June of this year. Among other things, Larijani told the Council: “Torture is one thing and punishment is another thing. … This is a conceptual dispute. Some forms of these punishments should not be considered torture according to our law.” By which he meant flogging, amputation, stoning, and the criminalization of homosexuality, which are all part of Iranian legal standards. Larijani added: “Iran [has a] firm commitment to the promotion and protection of human rights. … The Islamic Republic of Iran … is a democracy,” which would be news to the pro-democracy activists murdered or confined to Iranian prisons since last year’s fraudulent elections.
The Iranian connection to the launch of Cordoba House may go beyond a relationship between Rauf and Larijani. The Cordoba Initiative lists one of its three major partners as the UN’s Alliance of Civilizations. The Alliance has its roots in the Iranian-driven “Dialogue Among Civilizations,” the brainchild of former Iranian President Hojjatoleslam Seyyed Mohammad Khatami. Khatami is now a member of the High-level Group which “guides the work of the Alliance.” His personal presidential qualifications include the pursuit of nuclear weapons, a major crackdown on Iranian media, and rounding up and imprisoning Jews on trumped-up charges of spying. Alliance reports claim Israel lies at the heart of problems associated with “cross-cultural relations,” since the “Israeli-Palestinian conflict” and “Israel’s continuing occupation of Palestinian and other Arab territories … are primary causes of resentment and anger in the Muslim world toward Western nations.”
In addition, a Weekly Standard article in July suggested that the idea of building an Islamic memorial in lower Manhattan may have originated back in 2003 with two Iranian brothers: M. Jafar “Amir” Mahallati, who served as ambassador of the Iranian Islamic Republic to the United Nations from 1987 to 1989, and M. Hossein Mahallati.
Also pictured at the same Cordoba-sponsored meeting is U.S. representative to the Organization of the Islamic Conference, Sada Cumber. The meeting was part of the Initiative’s so-called “Shariah Index Project,” a plan to rank and measure the “Islamicity” of a state or “how well … nations comply in practice with this Islamic legal benchmark of an Islamic State.”
In July of last year, Cordoba chief Rauf was interviewed by a reporter for Abu Dhabi Media about the Shariah Index Project. He told The National, “Determining Islamic principles had been the easy part.” Easy, but not available for examination to the residents of New York City or to the loved ones of 9/11 victims. Despite multiple references to the Initiative’s publication more than a year ago of a book “on the concept of measuring a nation’s ‘Islamicity,’” a request for a copy of the book made directly to the New York-based Cordoba Initiative resulted in a denial of the book’s existence.
The unanswered questions keep mounting.

In his book “What’s Right With Islam” Rauf reveals himself to be a Sufi in the tradition of Al Ghazali, the radical militant 10th century Moselm jurist who extolled Holy War (JIHAD): using violence and deception in the Moslem conquest of mankind. “Cordoba Initiative” are code words for Moslem imperial conquest, not religious freedom and equality (of which there was none in Moslem ruled Cordoba). Sharia ruled Cordoba is Rauf’s political model for America and the West.
Rauf is a Moslem first an American last and is anything but an integrationist. In his lecture “Lose Your Ego Find Your Compassion (found on the internet)” Rauf claims that the Prophet Mohammed-an intolerant, mass murdering theiving terrorist thug (a virtual killing machine for Allah)-is the supreme example for humanity of compassion, goodness, enlightenment and peace.
With good reason 68% of the American people (80% Republicans, 54% Dems), empathetically siding with the victims of 9/11 and their familes, see Rauf’s mosque as offensive and insensitive and oppose its construction anywhere close to Ground Zero.

Although I do think dirty money from Islamic radicals is funding the Ground Zero mosque, it doesn’t really matter even if there was NO dirty money funding the mosque. Whether or not Islamic jihadists fund the mosque is not the point. The point is that the mere fact that a mosque was built next to Ground Zero will be portrayed in the Muslim world as a great victory over the infidels. The Muslims, for public consumption here in the United States, may say that it does not, but outside the United States it will. And we will, once again, look weak and foolish in the eyes of the radical Islamic terrorists around the world. These are the same people who always try to use our own laws against us. They hide their true intentions under the cover of “free speech” or “freedom of religion,” even though nobody said they couldn’t build a mosque somewhere else in New York (which already has about 30 of them) and nobody said they couldn’t worship Islam anywhere they wanted to. Nope, they have to have it THERE to make a major political point. And, given that there already are about 30 mosques in New York City, one has to wonder why they want yet another one that MUST be located right next to ground zero. They are a bunch of lieing dogs and if Mayor Bloomberg allows this charade to continue, it will only bring more violence and ill will to a city that can certainly do without it.

If Cordoba House really is for interfaith dialog, perhaps within it should be an all-faiths chapel.

Feisal Rauf himself has drawn parallels between the principles laid out by Thomas Jefferson in the Declaration of Independence and Shari’a law.
References to the proposed mosque have recently switched from Cordoba House to the much more innocuous Park 51.

I’m frequently amazed that so few people realize the extent to which foreign governments manipulate and even create out of whole cloth issues, events, conflicts, debates, and even movements in this country, to achieve some objective or another, and I’m almost as amazed that Americans can’t get their heads around the fact that foreign powers can act very long range when they do it — the Soviets/Russians had many plans that took decades to reach fruition. “Nuclear winter”, which morphed into “global warming” and then “Cap and Trade”, for instance. Or the health care debate — believe it or not (whose primary purpose wasn’t health care but to establish the preconditions of totalitarianism). Or the 20 or 40 year mole implantation program. (Gives a whole new meaning to the phrase “whack a mole”, doesn’t it? — raise a little black kid by commie parents under the direction of the KGB, so he can realize his dream of becoming President in a race-conscious society riddled with guilt.)
It’s brilliant, in a way. The perpetrators are almost perfectly insulated from suspicion: the American psyche, steeped in pragmatism and 4-year election cycles, just can’t get it’s head around the thought of someone planning for *decades* to overthrow their way of life with the promotion of abstract ideas like relativism, skepticism, altruism, post-modernism, deconstructionism, Platonic idealism, take your pick — that’s how you cripple a nation with ideas, policies and regulations that corrupt standards, diminish industrial capacity, stop military programs, establish destructive arms-control treaties with enemies, create internal strife and weaken national will to fight and win wars: decades-long efforts to eat out a country from the inside.

I don’t get it. What’s this photo supposed to prove? What are they talking about? Agreeing to?
I could easily produce photos of public figures of whom many here would approve, appearing in pictures with odious people, but without more information or evidence they would be meaningless.
For instance photos of Nixon with Mao do not prove that the US president was meeting with his Chinese puppet master, or backer. The evidence shows they were negotiating for lowered cold war tensions. On the other hand, the evidence behind Rumsfeld’s mid-80s meeting with Saddam, captured in pictures, shows that the Reagan administration was there to give assurances of support to Saddam in the war he’d launched against Iran.
But this reporter clearly hasn’t any more information or evidence than the photo– nothing suggesting, say, that Rauf was concluding a deal securing Iran as a financial backer– or she would have posted it.
Is this supposed to be journalism?

The shear idacity of the Islamic religious people to erect a statement building on the very grounds where Islamic terrorists stole two aircraft and crashed them into two building. My understanding is that there are at least 40 Mosques in NYC, so explain why there needs to be another one, and why it needs to be located next to ground zero? And Md. J. Larijani mentioned in this article is a brother to Sadegh Larijani, an ayatollah who heads up the Iranian judiciary and recently requested permission from the Grand Ayatollah Khamenei to execute 1120 people in Iran’s prisons.

It would seem that if any Muslim was truly “moderate” and of kind heart, they would understand and respect the pain that the building of what will be essentially a monument to an Islam that spawned the jihadists that took down the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center on 9/11 will cause to exponential numbers of Americans; fellow American citizens who have provided them the opportunity to live without fear of the religious persecution that caused them to come here in the first place. And such understanding and respect would then not even allow them to consider building a mosque in the first place.
But, alas, we now live in the time of Political Correctness, where both kindness and common sense have been trumped by fears of being labeled as “racist” or “intolerant” by bullies with socialist agendas that cover nothing more than their own greedy grasping for perceptions of power and personal wealth.

Now that the radical Imam Feisel Abdul Rauf has hit the trifecta in his quest to build his Park51, formerly known as the Cordoba Initiative, New York’s Monster Mosque just may be a go.
(The project name was changed due to the very negative associations with Cordoba, home to the Great Mosque in Cordoba, Spain which was built on the foundations of a Christian cathedral, a fact Muslims would not want Christians to think too much about.)
Rauf must be leaning on his architects to get the project moving so that it will be ready for its scheduled grand opening on, what else?, September 11th, 2011, the tenth anniversary of the Islamic attack on the World Trade Center.
Is that scheduling, indeed, the entire obscenity that is the Cordoba House Initiative/Park51, not the most outrageous example of Muslim in-your-face arrogance of this century, building a monument to Islam barely two blocks from Ground Zero?
Nevertheless, the Islamists now have the Democrat president of the United States as well as the Democrat governor of New York State and the lifelong Democrat mayor of New York City in their corner, all of them spouting the same tired drivel of freedom of religion while ignoring the essential truth that the Islamic religion is irrelevant in this matter.

Whether liberal or conservative, only morons can consider this project a step towards spirituality and understanding. It has nothing to do with religion, religious freedom or the privileges the US Constitution vests on American citizens and residents. This is clearly an outrageous intent to blow the trumpet of victory on the anniversary of the attacks.
Bloomberg and company don´t realize that the extremists view their welcoming gestures as the signs of weakness of a corrupt society. They will despise us even more, and continue their campaign to destroy the ways of life of the Western world. Europeans are starting to realize what´s going on and what we are facing. But the American media critizes any step the Europeans take to ensure the survival of their culture. We Americans are way behind in that discovery, and on top of everything we believe we are better and smarter than them. We are so open minded and welcoming.
And the name of the project was carefully selected. I´m sure. Muslim immigrants in Spain openly say (to an acquaintance of mine): ¨”We are here to recover what is rightfully ours.”

A Masque Next To Ground Zero by Hal Lindsey
The plan is to build a 13-story Muslim mosque and cultural center literally only a few hundred feet from Ground Zero in lower Manhattan. The leader of the project, Imam Abdul Rauf, says that the mosque is intended as a gesture to build “bridges between faiths.” Another proponent claims that the mosque, which will occupy the site of a 152-year old building that suffered damage in the 9/11 attack, is really a “celebration of America’s religious tolerance.” Why would a religion founded on fealty to one law, one leader, and one god — a religion whose modern defining characteristic is its intolerance of all other faiths and traditions — actually “celebrate” America’s religious diversity. That’s the very thing Islam HATES about us. How could a religion that reduces women and girls to mere chattel and considers all non-Muslims to be second-class citizens conceivably “celebrate” a non-Muslim society that believes all humans are created equal in God’s sight? It’s laughable. Yet our leaders and the media-types have fallen for it hook, line, and sinker. Are they that stupid or have they been intimidated into acquiescence? New York City already has more than 100 mosques. We’ve already proven that we really are an open, tolerant society. To say with a straight face that this is Islam’s celebration of America’s religious tolerance would be like the Southern Baptists building a church in Amsterdam’s infamous Red Light District to “celebrate” Holland’s sexual promiscuity. It doesn’t make sense because it doesn’t make sense.
I’ll tell you why the Muslims insist on putting a 13-story mega-mosque (which, by the way, will eerily resemble a World Trade Center tower) within earshot of Ground Zero. It will be nothing less than a traditional act of Islamic triumphalism. It’s a symbol of conquest. Although the Muslims have changed the name of the proposed structure to “Park 51 Mosque,” the campaign to build it is still called “The Cordoba Initiative.” For all of you Progressives, and Liberals who are supposed to be intellectual but who can’t change the oil in your own car (like Barry Barack Hussein), I’m going to share with you a short history lesson about the symbolism of “Cordoba” in the Islamic mind. And trust me, the Muslims are big on symbolism.
The world should know that the ‘Cordoba Initiative,’ the New York City based organization desiring to construct a massive Islamic house of prayer at ‘Ground Zero,’ has posted on its website, a peculiar and disingenuous statement indicating the desire to bring back the atmosphere of, “interfaith tolerance and respect that we have longed for since Muslims, Christians and Jews lived together in harmony and prosperity eight hundred years ago.”
I point this out because contemporary scholarship has clearly demonstrated that there was no ‘harmony’ or ‘prosperity’ for non-Muslims in Islamic Spain. The Cordoba Initiative is attempting to revisit some sort of mythical “tolerance and respect” which never existed.
What is irrefutable is that living under Islam, the non-Muslim population was always mandated to submit to Islam, accept discriminatory laws, and make payment of a mandatory Quranic tax imposed upon every non-Muslim. For a period of about 800 years, most of Spain was ruled by Muslims and this area was known as ‘Al-Andalus.’ Islamic rule ended in 1492, when the city of Granada, the last Muslim kingdom in Western Europe, capitulated to the Spanish Catholics.
The Cordoba Initiative is an organization whose very name makes reference to what was, 1,000 years ago, one of the world’s most advanced cities, Cordoba, Al-Andalus (Spain). This was a city that was politically and religiously dominated by Islam, and a city that was conquered by jihad (holy war). Today, there are Islamic groups such as Al-Qaeda that have a dream of seeing a pan-Islamic world that would extend from old Al-Andalus (Spain). This is based upon Islam’s principle of dar-al-Islam, which means a world where Islamic sovereignty prevails over the citizenry. Dar-al-Islam is attained through jihad and the media is replete with Al- Qaeda’s calls for jihad and their claims to Al-Andalus and its major cities such as Cordoba.
Clearly, Islamic Cordoba was once a city where a number of intellectual Muslims such as Averroes (Ibn-Rushd), influenced European thought with Arab philosophy related to the scientific teachings of Aristotle. In mathematics, the Arabs built upon the foundations of Greek mathematicians. At one point there were dozens of free schools in Cordoba for the education of poor Arabs and at some point there existed some 600 mosques. However, even with all of this scholastic and societal grandeur, the route to get to such a point of magnificence was through violent warfare.
Not only were successive battles for Spanish cities bloody, but desiring more than Spain–the Arabs declared a jihad against France, then crossed the Pyrenees, and in successive swarms spread over the southern regions of the French countryside, slaughtering the Christians by thousands, and burning their churches to the ground before being halted.
We must remember that a practice associated with conquering Islamic armies was the construction of a mosque at the location where their triumphant battle was won. Thus, this modern Islamic organization is seeking to build a mosque at the site of 9/11 attack—an attack which was carried out by 19 Muslim hijackers who considered their mission holy war.
Insomuch, it is this man’s opinion that a Muslim house of prayer that would be cemented in the ashes of catastrophe at the foot of New York’s lost Twin Towers would be a symbolic victory flag for Muslims who seek the destruction of America. Further, it is my honest opinion that no matter how the construction of a mosque at ‘Ground Zero’ may be perceived by well-meaning Americans, the construction of a mosque on the spot where Al-Qaeda brought jihad to the United States will unquestionably represent victory to the worldwide forces of Radical Islam.
