I can’t get over the idea that a black woman is touting the “good old days” when Jim Crow laws were still in effect. Is she self-hating or what?

  2. 2. Moho

Some of you are stupid. Others are crazy. None of you have anything to say that’s worth hearing.

  3. 3. CharlieSays

Thanks for sharing that, Moho. Brilliant argument.

  4. Of course “Moho” you do include yourself amongst the stupid crazies who say nothing worth hearing.

Before we strayed from our principles? Unfortunately, can we ever honestly say we lived up to our lofty ideals?

As countries and societies go, I still maintain we’ve done better than most anyone else. But as soon as one plague of totalitarianism faded away, we tried to replace it with another. When slavery was extinguished, Federal power expanded, Jim Crow appeared, and segregation expanded. From slavery to the WPA to segregation to price controls to socialism to the current federal expansion the specter of tyranny has always hung over us.

The idealistic work of our forefathers has never been completed.

Carlos…when I said “some of you” it necessarily meant that I wasn’t included in that set. It seemed like a fairly straightforward proposition, but I now understand I have to add extra nomenclature and perhaps footnotes for you.*

*You, as opposed to me. Though philosophers have long debated whether saying the word “you” actually really does exempt oneself from the directed comment, it is now commonly accepted that when one says “you” they are understood to not mean themselves.

  7. Moho ….. Your comment just included “you.” Thank you for demonstrating exactly what you meant by stupid crazies saying nothing worth hearing.

Speaking as one who matriculated in first grade in 1943 and experienced twelve years of genuine public education that promoted responsibility and patriotism, I really enjoyed this video. And what a babe! She puts Michelle to shame!

When I moved on to college, universities were still teaching genuine American history along with civics and government.

Crusader: Which party passed all those Jim Crow laws?
