Huge thanks to Glenn for wearing his super-fashionable Simon Jester t-shirt, and giving us a shout-out. Feel free to send us your Tea Party pics – with or without SJ gear, just get out there – and we’ll post them up on our site. TANSTAAFL!!

When I think of all these concerned citizens doing their duty protesting and holding up their signs, I think of…

All the illegal immigrants who will be going to work that day.

Yes, while one group will be complaining about those liberal socialists taking the money they worked hard for….

The other group will actually be working hard!

  3. Herb: Whassa matter with you?

Oh, yah. “Progressives” know better than we do what’s best for us little people.

We should just shut up and let our betters lead us to the Promised Land. Have a nice day. :-)

  4. 4. Herb

Who said anything about progressives? Not I.

But if you want to assume that I’m “progressive” because I find these Tea Party protests disingenuous, silly, and pointless, that’s fine with me.

Code Pink called me a fascist pig when I said the same thing about them…

Bottom line: If the goal is to get some media attention and a pic of your clever sign posted on Michelle Malkin’s blog…then go have your Tea Party.

If the goal is to actually accomplish something…then you might want to do something else.

No one goes to a teaparty for attention Herb. The MSM only does violence and that usually involves Greenies, Ecofacists, Anarchists and Liberals. Wait and see the results after the biggest teaparty of all.

  6. HERB: Protests do plenty to draw attention to a problem, it is sort of like advertising. But since you are a socialist you really wouldn’t understand the concept of capitalistic actions and promotion of ideas that further the development of a product or service.

  7. 7. whyyeseyec

Tea parties are a great idea but expect the leftist anarchists to try and disrupt as much as possible and the MSM will minimize the effects….

Hitting the Tea Party here in Salt Lake City on the 15th.

Herb’s an idiot. Our votes, letters to the editor, phone calls to politicians are already ignored, and now he’s telling us that protests are a waste of time? He’s basically telling us to roll over and play dead while left wing fanatics prosecute this coup de tat to completion. Well I for one won’t let this country fall without a fight, and yes, tea parties are one way of fighting back.

  10. EVERYONE, GO TO THE TEA PARTIES…….MAKE A SIGN…….BRING LOTS OF FRIENDS……This will work, and THEY know it! Was anyone out there at Fullerton, CA Mar. 7th? I was……WOW! You’ll never forget it!!!!

    “9. californiataxslave:

    Herb’s an idiot.”

On that, there can be no debate. But you know who else was an idiot?

Cindy Sheehan, who thought that if she camped out in Crawford long enough she was going to end the war in Iraq…despite the fact that you can’t end a war by camping out in Crawford.

So when you ask: “Our votes, letters to the editor, phone calls to politicians are already ignored, and now he’s telling us that protests are a waste of time?”

Perhaps you might want to ask yourself how holding up a sign and chanting “Hell no, we won’t pay” is going to get a different result?

Bottom line: Protesters of ALL stripes need to figure out that there is no correlation between their activities and their desired results.

So if you’re all excited about these Tea Party protests, ask yourself how holding a sign on a street corner is going to get you what you want?

Also, contrary to Bill Perron, I don’t think attention-seeking is the main motivation of these protests. I think it’s more of a kind of impotent catharsis, to make yourself feel better, to make yourself feel like you’re contributing something…even though in real world measurable terms, you’re just standing on a street corner with a sign, which accomplishes nothing unless you’re begging for change.)

Ole Herb thinks he is right because, since media is manned by Liberals, his views are broadcasted more then the centrist views. At some point he will wake up … hopefully it is before his grandson is born with more debt then it cost to educate the lil one.

With a little luck, all this commotion will cause a true leader of the people that has unshakable American values to surface. Who ever he / she is, they will have to be tough, informed and have no life cuz they & their family will be attacked relentlessy & personally by the left.

Whatever happens and whatever we do in these Tea Parties, we MUST NOT use violence, nor should we be silenced.

What do we do after the tea parties? We head for D.C. in September. Details at http://pushbackuntil.com. If you cannot be there, send this URL to everyone in your contacts list, and try to get on local/national talk radio shows to publicize it. We need several hundred thousand people there. If we do not take this seriously, our country is toast. Because Congress is driving us over Bankruptcy Cliff. They must be stopped from ruining our country!

If a million black men can pull it off, don’t you think you white people should be able to do the same?

  16. 16. view from afar

hello, if tea parties don’t work, why does America exist Herb? I think it is an apt metaphor, especially since social liberals seem to think that they have all the knowledge of the past and how things should be…

I watched “THE PATRIOT”, over the weekend. I was reminded of the founding of our country, when farmers, shopkeepers and freedom loving people stood against the King(politicians in our day) and won our LIBERTY. April 15 is the day when the modern day Minutemen take to the streets to tell our government that we’re not going to take this taxing-spending, taxing-spending, anymore. Wake up America, our very existence is being threatened.

Look, Herb has a point. Going to a Tea Party is fine. By all means find a tea party and have a good time. But along with that we need to demand that true conservatives start running in local, state and national level primaries. Send the RINOs into retirement. Back up conservatives with volunteer time, money and even a few prayers (OK, lots of prayers…and money…and time). Vote and convince your friends and family to vote for the right candidates. Organize local efforts and get active.

Events like tea parties will get some attention, and they can help build a base of people who get motivated. But by themselves they will not have a lasting impact.

Ted Kennedy, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Ried and all the loser left, have as their leader a non-citizen whom they worship. It was OK to mock, belittle, and curse President Bush, but now their Messiah must not be criticized in any way. Have you tried to buy ammo lately? There is none. Our country is losing its freedoms by the minute. The tea-party may seem small, but as we “socialize”, more and more will wake up and unite.
