After the Massacre: Anti-Semitism, Islam, and Norway
Dr. Michal Rachel Suissa is a Jewish Amazigh (Berber) refugee from Morocco, working as an associate professor in medicinal chemistry at University College of Oslo. She regularly lectures and has written many articles on minorities in the Middle East, human rights in the Muslim world, and the use of religion as a weapon against Jews and minorities. She is the director of the Center Against Anti-Semitism (CAA) and the editor of the quarterly magazine SMA-Info on Israel and Anti-Semitism. I asked her a few question regarding racism, anti-Semitism, and Islam in Norway.
Does Norway have a racism problem?
Suissa: Racist or xenophobic political parties do not exist in Norway. We may identify some individual examples of racist behavior, racist comments in the media, and even racist violence and murders committed by individuals, but these cases do not have an organized character and should not be considered as a particular Norwegian phenomenon. On the contrary, comparing with other countries, the low level of such behavior in Norway has been more striking.
Several churches were burned down in the 1990s. Can we call that religiously motivated violence?
Suissa: As far as we know, all church fires resulting from arson in Norway were committed by people with connections to a Satanistic or “Black Metal” milieu. The majority of the cases were solved and the culprits have been sentenced. In my opinion, this has nothing to do with the recent atrocities.
Has there been a public discussion about Muslim immigration?
Suissa: Immigration is a topic that has been discussed in Norway for many years, as in other countries. Occasionally there may be a reference to Muslim immigration, but this generally has to do with a perceived low level of integration or assimilation into Norwegian society by some Muslims; in particular, Muslim women. Even Muslim leaders and spokesmen have made critical comments about Muslim practices of marriage and such phenomena as cousin marriage, genital mutilation, and honor killing.
But I see no difference between Norway and other Western countries in this respect. In my experience, the majority of Norwegians definitely favor cultural and ethnic diversity within the common liberal constitutional polity they have created in this country, but in a way that safeguards hard acquired basic rights and values of their own constitutional democracy, such as equal rights for women and gays, freedom of critical expression, etc.
Is there a clash of opinions about these issues?
Suissa: There is no way to deny that there have been verbal confrontations over issues of this kind with local proponents of Islam. This kind of debate may be rather difficult in Norway, as the risk of being labeled a racist or “Islamophobic” by the media and some Muslims is very high. I have not observed similar debates with Hindus, Buddhists, Sikhs or other religious groups. I do not experience Norwegian society as “muslimophobic” at all, but I do see how concerned people are when it comes to political values brought to Norway by some Muslim immigrants, such as circumcision of girls, forced cousin marriage, and the support of death sentences for homosexuals. Open warnings and threats from fundamentalist Muslims have also been a part of this picture.
What’s the role of the media?
Suissa: An undebated problem is that Norway has practically no completely free mass media, as they are all financially supported on an annual basis by the government and therefore have an observable tendency to echo politically correct opinions. As it is not politically correct to criticize any aspect of Islam, anyone who dares to address simple questions like: “How long can we turn a blind eye to the fact that Mecca is still a forbidden city for non-Muslims, while the number of mosques in Norway is growing like mushrooms after the rain?” is guaranteed to be labeled a racist. In Norway, as in the rest of Europe, there is in effect a ban on telling the truth about these matters, and that frustrates people.
Some newspaper reports claim that anti-Semitism in Norway is extreme, even by European standards.
Suissa: There is no evidence that antisemitism is more extreme in Norway than elsewhere, although a general rectification or “Gleichschaltung” of public information and lack of alternative channels has no doubt had an effect on public opinion in a small language group. We do however have a recent public report on the presence of anti-Semitic behavior among schoolchildren, published by the municipal authorities in Oslo on June 7, 2011. It provides clear evidence that Muslim youths are overrepresented in the group mobbing Jewish schoolchildren.
The children testified that the word “Jew” has again become a common insult among pupils in Norwegian schools, and that most of the Jew-hatred is committed by Muslim pupils. Our Information Center, the CAA, has said that for years, but Norwegian authorities have tried to downplay, ignore, or otherwise remove this from public debate.
So is it Muslim immigration that is mainly responsible for the spread of anti-Semitism in Norway?
Suissa: No. Anti-Semitic attitudes, both direct and concealed, have been both created and maintained by mainstream Norwegian media, such as the state broadcasting organization NRK and Oslo’s largest newspaper Aftenposten. There are also politicians and journalists who make a career by castigating Israel at any given opportunity. This goes along with a biased and negative description of Israel’s friends in Norway, as well as a brisk support to Hamas and the PLO. Hence, radical Muslim immigrants must necessarily have noticed that their anti-Semitic and even racist attitudes are often met with significant support, direct or indirect, by Norwegian media and some political spokesmen.
In an anti-Israeli demonstration led by the Norwegian minister of finance and other left-wing notables directed against the military operation in Gaza, many young Arabs marched through the streets of Oslo chanting: “Itbah al yahood!” (Kill the Jews!). This did not occur during the Holocaust, but in January 2009 in the streets of Oslo. Norwegian and Muslim children saw their leaders walk hand-in-hand with radical Islamists. This affects people’s attitudes, and the results of this kind of leadership are summarized in the report I mentioned.
The responsibility for Jew-hatred in Norway lies with the “mind-designers” who recklessly use the media and their political platforms to distort reality and depict Jews as the world’s most dangerous people, in the words of former Prime Minister Thorbjørn Jagland (now secretary general of the Council of Europe): “If there is something that is a threat to world peace, then it is the Israeli occupation.“ Such often-repeated statements are among the unquestionable sources of Jew-hatred in Norway.
How would you describe the government’s stance toward Israel?
Suissa: Over the years it has made an easily observable u-turn. From being an ardent supporter of the young Jewish homeland and a formerly neutral peace broker in the Arab-Israeli negotiations, Norway has under its present government taken a decisive step to ally politically with the Palestinian side and to leave her former friend by the roadside. This is another aspect of Norwegian politics downplayed by the media.
One of the foremost advocates of this change of Norwegian foreign policy in recent years and the man who irreversibly took sides with the Palestinian Arabs in the conflict is Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr Støre. His role in changing his country’s relationship with the international community has to a great extent passed without significant debate in Norway. Norwegians have been generally satisfied by living in their own growing welfare bubble, isolated from the evils of the world and very content by having their country ranked number one among countries worth living in.
What can you tell us about Gahr Støre?
Suissa: He came to political office after having been headhunted by leaders of the Labour Party. As a former career bureaucrat he also had to prove his mettle among the radical fringes of his new party. He did so by clarifying Norway’s stance towards all the parties of the conflicts of the Middle East; he was the first Western leader to recognize and establish political and economic ties to organizations like Hamas, the Muslim Brotherhood, the Taliban, and recently the Somalian terrorist organization al-Shabaab. His most important slogan is: “Dialogue.”
What does the Utoya massacre mean for Norway’s Jewish community?
Suissa: The majority of Jews in Norway try to conceal their Jewish identity. We have three very small congregations which represent a few hundred observant Jews. For the time being there is a full silence, as most Jews have reacted instinctively with fear, afraid of becoming victims of the ongoing blame game. I know this for fact, as some of them have let me know in private conversations. The media were quick to make headlines of the allegation that the murderer was “pro-Israeli.” I see this as part of the massive media propaganda to silence the “right-wing” opposition, which is also generally positive towards Israel.
Are there already any reactions to the massacre which you would describe as anti-Jewish or anti-Israel?
Suissa: I do not fear that the recent atrocities by themselves will increase anti-Semitism in Norway, and I do not see at the moment any reactions to the massacre and bombing which I would describe as anti-Jewish or anti-Israeli. I am however quite worried that the witch hunt directed against the political opposition by the largely left-wing media may make it even more difficult to express solidarity with Israel in public.
We have seen examples of anti-Israeli incitement — not the least of which came from the foreign minister — just prior to the terrorist massacre, which I fear may settle as a rock bottom “truth,” in particular among the less historically informed younger generations who were traumatized by the terrorist, and this scenario worries me a lot.
After the publication of the report on anti-Semitism in June, the minister had the courage to state that our politicians did have a responsibility for the situation, saying that: “A jargon of slang terms which may have unintended and very grave consequences, may easily take root. Those of us who have the political responsibility must talk about this and counteract such expressions.” Unfortunately, he had forgotten his own piece of good advice — as late as the day before the shooting he met his expectant colleagues with unmistakably anti-Israeli slogans, saying to his cheering young audience: “The Palestinians must have their own state. The occupation must end, the wall must be torn down, and this must happen now!”
One of the more long-term negative consequences of this brutal terrorist act in Norway is a limitation of the freedom of speech. People have become terrified of being connected to the mass-murderer, whom the media describe as a “conservative Christian fundamentalist.” This tag is sufficient to paralyze half of the Norwegian population, where the majority of the supporters of Israel and the Jews are found. At present we observe a form of slanderous media defamation of Christians which in some cases has already acquired an eerie resemblance to classical anti-Semitism. This witch hunt, spreading like a steppe fire, has already paralyzed conservative bloggers in this country, and I fear others will also suffer before the media may end up with the classical compromise of blaming the Jews.

So, if Conservatives, Christians and Jews are silent, who speaks? The Radical Left and Islamic fundamentalists? Ironically, once again, politics makes strange bedfellows.
However, this silence seems to be self imposed; adopted for fear of social sanction and condemnation. Not that I trivialize the importance of being on good terms with my neighbors, but I know for a fact that in such cases, silence implies consent.
As long as democracy still exists, one does not get the society one deserves, but for which one fights. Seems only one side here is fighting. I wish Norway luck. And I hope that the power of one’s convictions overcomes fear, and an honest debate can take place soon.
No mention of the high rate of Muslims raping white Norwegian women ?
Can you imagine if it were Jewish men. there would be anything but silence from the Norwegian hypocrites and their EVIL double standard.
It is no surprise that the fabric of Norwegian society has been ripped.
It’s only begun because Norway has brought a curse upon itself. Genesis 12:3
Tevalgirl,
You took the words right out of my mouth.
I see so much weakness and fear from those who are in the right and it radiates from Jerusalem’s weak and fearful leadership always in appeasement and surrender
to these evil forces.
There is no leadership at this late hour only faithless, fearful cowards always retreating and apologizing.
Brazen threats and intimidation coming like a flood from the forces of darkness which includes the satanists who burned down the churches in Norway to the godless, mindless left and their hate driven intolerant and bloodthirsty death cult of Islam.
If you can’t stand up now you might as well go off and die because this is only the beginning of the dragons war against the righteous(SAINTS).Revelation 12
‘The wicked flee when no one is pursuing,
But the righteous are bold as a lion.’
Proverbs 28:1
Amazing how the Dr. downplays the antisemitic incidents
We may identify some individual examples of racist behavior, racist comments in the media, and even racist violence and murders committed by individuals, but these cases do not have an organized character ….
while ignoring the Norwegian govt.,’s attitude and the general silence of Norwegians.
If there was no semblance of an “organized character” would the Jews be so fearful as to keep a low profile?
Agreed, I thought the same while reading the interview. The professor is ever so careful not to upset the apple cart as it were. If an academic has to hide behind words the situation is much worse than implied. Moreover, that makes her equally guilty of silence against anti-semitism. Norway is a country full of fat and happy statists, most of whom fear losing their welfare. When Hitler managed to make the Germans believe that he was their saviour, they became too fearful to speak out against the government’s anti-semitism. They fell in line with the thought that “it was all the Jews’ fault”. Is it any surprise that the grand mufti of Jerusalem at the time went to meet with Hitler and his co-horts back in 1941? There is a big connection between Muslims and Naziism. It is shameful what is happening in Norway, but like I said it is too risky to speak up for righteousness when you are fat and happy.
Please try to hold back your anti-semitism tags.
I shall not say that anti-semitism does not exist, but my impression is that some people considered it rampant in my country. Not true, in my opinion.
The main reason Norway is branded as anti-semitic is because of its stance in the Middle East, or more bluntly, regarding Israel. Everyone knows that Norway is, compared to most other western countries, very socialist. In order to understand why the average Norwegian socialist, and I guess every socialist, support whoever they support one should try to think like a socialist.
Israelis are perceived as white people in Norway, Palestinians as colored. An important part of the socialist mindset is to be anti-racist. Thus, in a conflict a socialist is more inclined to support the colored. Because colored are always victims and whites are always aggressors.
Israelis are perceived as wealthy, well dressed, well articulate, etc. In other words successful. The Palestinians are perceived, well you know… Thus, a socialist will never support the successful one.
Israel is considered a capitalist country (see above, successful), when has a socialist ever a supported a capitalist country?
Israel’s main ally is the US. The US is considered a capitalist country (see above) and a socialist will never agree with the politics of the US.
As mentioned above, I do not believe that anti-semitism is rampant in Norway. Anti-semitism might contribute with ~1% to the Norwegian stance in the Middle East, most likely much less. If the Israelis had been less successful and their skin color darker hardly anyone would care.
Take the Kurds in Turkey for instance, very few in Norway care what happens to them. The presence of Turkish military in northern Cyprys? Not interesting .The atrocities taking place in Sudan? Yaawn, nothing to see.
Muumi, I don’t disagree, other than observing that there is a traditional antisemitic streak in Lutheranism. But perhaps your analysis does not go far enough. Socialism raises what it defines as the needs of the community above the actual needs of the individual and uses all manner of persuasion to discourage individuals from deviating from the party line. In other words, individuals are discouraged from thinking for themselves and from making individual moral choices. Socialism makes it easy to manipulate a group against minorities, and lack of moral clarity leads to selective blindness at best, to violence at worst.
More than 50% of Israelis are as “dark as Palestinians” since their ethnic background is from the Middle East. They look no different physically than neighboring Arabs. The Left chooses to ignore this fact which is inconvenient to their narrative.
The irony is that in Europe Jews are deemed to be “too dark and foreign” to be fully “European”, yet in their ancestral homeland the enlightened Europeans deem them to be “too white” to be there either. This confirms for me that a large number of Europeans on the Left have their collective heads up their asses.
What bothers me about socialists is the hypocrisy. Arabs are both bigots and racists. They allow no “others” to live freely in their countries – and let’s face it, 99.999999% of the ME is Arab or Arabisized and muslim. Jordan was supposed to be the pal-Jewish solution and they crossed the river to steal more land. Now they claim they’ve been there “thousands” of years. You side with people who will never be satisfied unless the land is pure of the infidel. What reason on earth do the arabs deserve yest another arab state – like the other 57 are doing so swell. There is only ONE Jewish state and that is one too many for you and your people.
Poor little Lebannon used to be Christian and the Jewel of the ME – now it’s ruined and muslim with its Christian population either subjugated or dead. These people weren’t “white” but the problem with you people is you actually believe in a “noble savage.” I have news for you – they are not noble – they are just savages.
“An undebated problem is that Norway has practically no completely free mass media, as they are all financially supported on an annual basis by the government and therefore have an observable tendency to echo politically correct opinions. Same thing happens here in America with PBS or NPR. They are government funded, so you will hear very few (if any) stories criticizing Islam. And we citizens subsidize this junk. All public funding should be pulled from both NPR and PBS as soon as the Republicans regain control of all of Congress. With all the cable channels and radio channels on the air today, if PBS and NPR want to spout their liberal junk, let them do it on their own dime. I’m sick of subsidizing it with our money. And I’m also sick of them shilling for liberal candidates as well. Their usefulness has long since passed and, given the tough economic times, they should stand on their own two feet if they want to stay on the air.
Thank you.
That needs to be said over and over again over the widest possible spread; or, we taxpayers should be given a block to check on our tax forms to allocate from the general tax revenues a like amount, or, an additional tax to be levied to support a…..gasp!…..ConservativeMediaSource…maybe call it, CMS?
Agreed. It seems a no-brainer that no media should have govt. funding as it is synonymous with govt. control of media.
It is a hollow argument to contend that when NPR and PBS began it was with good intention and served a genuine need, that we can criticize now only because we have hindsight. The men who penned “Congress shall make no law respecting ……… or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press;….” had the benefit of hindsight.
That Dr. Suissa sort-of waters down the fact that no media outlets in Norway are free from government funding (control) exhibits stunning naivety or a degree of apology.
I think Suissa is very naive about Norwegians. My experience with Norwegians is that I have never met one who was not at least some degree anti-Semitic. As the author points out, there are few Jews in Norway and they stay more or less underground. If they protected their Jews from the Nazis (some did, some didn’t) it wasn’t because they liked Jews, it was because they disliked being ordered about by the Germans. Norwegians have a very nationally (but not personally) independent streak which comes from centuries of being ruled by the Danes and the Swedes. One of the most nationalistic chauvinist displays in Europe is 17th of May in Oslo.
Norwegians are very insular (for all their progessive ‘worldliness’) and narrow. Even at the highest social, political, and economic levels, and even if they have lived abroad for years.

Why complain about antisemmetism, if you are equally “anti-other nations”. Your comment was completely racist. You think all norwegians are alike. My grandfather saved jews during world war 2 because no on in my family ever had any antisemmetism in them what so ever, and we’re damn proud of him. Personally I wear the star of david every day in support of Israel. From norwegian girl.
In any country where the fourth estate is touched by government, ugly things can happen. The tendency toward “politically correct” views is probably a fact caused by the need for the immigrants to “feel welcome.”
I wonder if these new immigrants are Norwegian citizens, or whether they will ever have a chance to become one.
Suissa’s mind appears to be fully engulfed and constrained in that strange academic posture that attacks brains living on the university post. Add a touch of Stockholm Syndrome and you have another Jew simmering in the crock pot.
While our domestic right-wing pundits and bloggers remain focused on Muslim immigration into Europe and the U.S., the motivation behind Anders Behring Breivik’s murderous rampage appears to be blind, insane hatred of Norway’s ruling Labor Party and the social democratic model of development. The youth group, Arbeidernes Ungdomsfylking (Workers’ Youth League), which owns the camp on Utoya Island, is a member of the International Union of Socialist Youth (IUSY). The killer murdered the flower of the next generation of democratic socialists. My conclusion is the killer is an anti-social democrat, driven to ideological mass murder.
Of course, leave it to Glenn Beck to make a defining comment. He says, discussing the massacre in Norway, “As the thing started to unfold, and then there was a shooting at a political camp, which sounds a little like, you know, the Hitler Youth or whatever — I mean, who does a camp for kids that’s all about politics? Disturbing. But anyway, so there’s this political camp, and some crazy man goes and starts shooting kids.” Right-wing pundits will suffer public shame while they distance themselves. But the killer was such an admirer of many spokespersons of the far-right fringe of American politics that he plagiarized freely from their works to fill up his 1,500 page “manifesto.”
The rise of the right-wing tendency in the Scandinavian countries has been significant in the past twenty years. The Scandinavian model has begun to unravel in Sweden, Finland, Holland and Denmark, where an increase in Muslim immigration has triggered an “anti-Islamicist” backlash against the multicultural model. As Yascha Mounk has argued, the term “has become a useful shorthand for everything the populists don’t like: Islam and any kind of extra-European immigration, of course; but also the loss of cultural traditions, the EU’s encroachment on national sovereignty, and even certain forms of cultural relativism.”
The rise of anti-immigrant and right-wing parties in Europe has been impressive since the beginning of the millennium. In 2001 in Denmark, the Dansk Folkeparti obtained 12% of the vote and 22 seats in parliament; in 2007 it improved its electoral results with 13.8% of the votes and 25 seats (of a total of 179). The situation is similar in Holland, where a center-right coalition rules with external support from Gert Wilders’ xenophobic Partij voor Vrijheid (Party for Freedom), which received 15.5% of the votes and 24 seats in Parliament (of a total of 150). In Sweden a center-right coalition attained an absolute majority in Parliament in 2006; in 2010 it lost its majority, but continues to rule with the external support of the extreme right-wing party Sverigedemokraterna (Sweden Democrats) which received 5.7% of the votes, clearing an electoral hurdle and entering the Riksdag for the first time with 20 seats (of a total of 349). In Finland’s April 2011 elections, the xenophobic and anti-European Union party Perussuomalaiset (True Finns) went from 4% to 19.1% of the votes and from 5 seats to 39 seats (of a total of 190). In Norway, despite the fact the the Labor Party continues to be the governing party, in the 2009 elections the center-right and its allies obtained an absolute majority of the votes and the most extreme of the right-wing parties Høyre (Conservative Party) and Fremskrittspartiet (Progress Party) gained in seats and votes. It is noteworthy that Anders Behring Breivik was a member of the youth section of the Progress Party until he abandoned it because of its supposed “embrace of multi-culturalism.”
Analysts and pundits should have taken more notice of political trends after the assassination of Sweden’s social democratic Prime Minister Olaf Palme in 1986, and the “end of innocence” in the so-called paradises of social democracy. Another indicator of the turmoil under the surface is modern Nordic literature. The writings of the Swedish crime writers Henning Mankell and Stieg Larsson, the Norweign Jo Nesbø, from the Islandic Arnaldur Indriðason, all depict a society that’s out of step with most outside conceptions of Scandinavian social democracy. Think of this detail: Sweden is one of the wealthiest countries in the world, yet for the last 20-years, more and more Swedes have gone to work in Norway. Naturally, as soon as they are declared “immigrant workers,” even Swedes are perceived in negative terms.
Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg said, “You will not destroy us. You will not destroy our democracy or our ideals for a better world.” Will the Left heed Stoltenberg’s call to defend our ideals or will it remain quiet the face of terrorism, xenophobia and racism?
Thank you for your perceptive comments.
Don’t you get it? Lawrence is trying to assure us that Leftist forces in Scandinava (and Holland, which isn’t in Scandinavia) are going to hold firm against the Right, which he clearly fears and hates.
The left hates personal freedom and have slowly increased the pressure of the jackboot on the throats of its citizens for decades. Then ya’ll are surpised when someone snaps and lashes out? You CREATED this guy.
Gahr Støre is “the first Western leader to recognize and establish political and economic ties to organizations like Hamas, the Muslim Brotherhood, the Taliban, and recently the Somalian terrorist organization al-Shabaab.”
The greatest threat to our cherished freedom and human rights are NOT Muslim terrorist organizations. The Free World is in great danger because of rabidly pro-Islam, pro-Muslim terrorist Western leaders who embrace and legitimize Muslim terrorist organizations whose stated goal is the destruction of Western civilization and global Islamic conquest.
It is a betrayal on a massive scale undreamt of in all history.
Agreed. I often wonder, what has happened to common sense? It is right in front of their noses, yet they cannot see. Willfully & woefully blind, or ignorantly blind?
Most Europeans and virtually all Muslims are blinded by their psychotic, insatiable, genocidal hatred of Jews. They are simply incapable of acting like rational human beings; they turn into crazed savages.
Exterminating Jews matters more to them than their own existence.
Eric,
why do Jews still live in Europe? It seems to me there are plenty of Jews who dislike their own people more than Europeans. Maybe they don’t count as “true jews” to you.
– Rep. Bernie Sanders was arguing that we need to be more like Norway with its free health care and free college.
Everything a free and thinking person needs to know about Islam is encapsulated in the phrase “honor killing.”
Everything a free and thinking person needs to know about academics and intimidatas speaking about Islam is evident in their willingness to accept and use the phrase “honor killing.”
These two words are predictive and seem to accurately indicate poisoned attitudes toward Christians, Jews, homosexuals, Americans, women, etc.
Norway and much of Europe appears to be lost, gone, possessed. They’re no longer free people, thinking free thoughts in a semi-free society.
For future reference, exactly how does one say “allahu akbar” in Norwegian?
There’s a reason why the term quisling is universally known to mean “traitor” and “collaborator with the enemy.”
Norwegian Vidkun Quisling collaborated with the Nazis to suppress Norway and track down Jews for execution. He and his name have come to epitomize betrayal at the most fundamental level.
Soon, perhaps, Støre will join the ranks and become yet another Norwegian name that serves as a shameful shorthand, meaning “dhimmi” and “surrender” and “fool.”
I guess many of these people have not red their bibles. They really do want to tame G-d. Genesis does not apply to them when God says to Abraham I will bless thee that bless you and curse thee that curse you. To all the Lefties in Norway, Good luck when you when you go to hell. God will curse you.
Also regarding Islam: Pederasty and Pedophilia Codified by the APA
In case no one has noticed, there seems to be an inordinate interest in celebrities and in pedophilia on the internet. Information on Hollywood and its “stars” has long attracted attention but the pedo attraction has long been confined to fans of sick porno websites.
Not anymore.
On the day I posted “Hooray for Hollywood Pedophiles?” (http://bit.ly/r95ILx), concerning a Corey Feldman expose’ on rampant perversion involving “vultures” in Tinseltown who prey on child actors, traffic to this blogsite increased by almost 400%, not indisputable evidence of widespread popularity of my site but clear proof that all lecherous vultures aren’t in the movie-making biz.
It’s now come to light that the perversion is not confined to Hollywood–as if it ever were.
A highly prestigious medical organization is in process of endorsing, normalizing, and seeking to legalize grossly abnormal and currently illegal acts of adults having sex with children.
The pederastic National Association of Man/Boy Love Association, NAMBLA, and the former homosexual Obama administration “Safe Schools” czar, Kevin Jennings, must be positively ecstatic over the move by the American Psychiatric Association, the APA.
Though still regarded as the virtual bible of shrinks, said APA terminally discredited itself and its DSM, the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, almost 40 years ago when it caved under unrelenting pressure from homosexuals to revise the DSM and change its diagnosis of homosexuality from “an abnormal mental disorder” to, well, just a matter of inclinational taste.
(See “Nature or Nurture,” http://bit.ly/pr6dfb, as well as various other pieces on the subject of the APA and how it has transformed psychiatry into pop-science on demand. It’s entirely plausible that the same disordered group which pressured the APA into altering a long-established diagnosis in 1973 now controls the APA.)
It wouldn’t be a stretch to believe that retreat from defending and defining normality to normalizing abnormality may very well represent one of the primary bases for the Western world’s disintegration, a moral disintegration to complement our economic and societal decline.
In 2011, under a somewhat different, also politically-correct pressure, the APA has caved once again.
This time the shrinks in charge are striving to accommodate Muslim inclinations to bugger kids . . .

Are there any western/northern European websites like pajamasmedia or worldnetdaily where journos publish truthful relevant information?
I know there is a very good one in Spain “libertaddigital.es” but I haven’t been able to find anything from the UK or Northern or Western Europe.
It depends on how you define “truthful relevant information”, but in Norway we have:
document.no
minervanett.no
and a myriad of singel-person blogs where alternative (i.e. not msm) ideas and news are published. But nothing on the scale of pajamasmedia.
Dr. Suissi: “…The responsibility for Jew-hatred in Norway lies with the “mind-designers…
Purest bullshit, Doc. Norwegian Jew hatred long predates the Norwegian press.
MK: “…there is a traditional antisemitic streak in Lutheranism…”
Martin Luther instructed the translators of the Hebrew Bible into German that their translation should leave no doubt in the mind of the reader that the characters in the Hebrew Bible were good Germans all. No reader was to suspect that they were Jewish. Luther was a larcenous German pig and the Gutenberg Bible is anti-Semitic trash.
Libertyship46:
Right on. As the leftist MSM loses readership advertising and income, the propagandists who fill its columns are suggesting that the Government support the press as it does the arts. It is up to me and you to put the kebash on this “welfare press” plan and tell the MSM whores to go out and earn an honest living.
CatoRenasci: “…Norwegians have a very nationally (but not personally) independent streak which comes from centuries of being ruled by the Danes and the Swedes…”
Were it that the Norwegians or Swedes were anything like the Danes. The Norwegians and Swedes were enthusiastic Nazis in during the Hitler years. The King of Denmark wore a Jewish star in sympathy with his Jewish subjects and open defiance of Hitler. This especially rankled the Germans who were less Nordic than the Danes and looked upon Danes as the Arian ideal. As the Nazis invaded, ordinary Danes looked up Jewish names in phone directories and other lists and escorted Jewish families to waiting Danish fishing boats that ferried them to safety.
Individual freedom is, of course, a mainstay of Judaism and, like a Sabbath day of rest once a week, is one of Judaism’s the great contributions to mankind. Small wonder that Individual freedom is embraced by Americans and scanted by Norwegians.
As The Islamic invasion of Europe continues, Europeans will begin abandoning Europe. The Jews–ever the canaries in the coalmine–are already mostly gone from Paris and Malmo. Emigrated to Canada, the US and Israel. The Christian migration–evidenced in all the British accents you hear on American television news–is just beginning.
Time for traditionally generous and welcoming Americans to make hard decisions. When the Europeans come knocking at our door, we need to point them thataway. To Australia and New Zealand and as a last option, Canada next door. The Europeans are suffering from social and political diseases we don’t need or want in the US. Any Chinese or Indian or even Mexican immigrant will make a harder-working, more loyal American citizen than a white, socialist, anti-Semitic and anti-American European.

Possibly due to the very high percentage of atheists in Scandinavian countries? Lots of atheists aren’t happy to just be good atheists – they’re anti-religion as well. Hard core atheists and hard core Bible thumpers are the same. Neither can live and let live.
David #15 I think we need to direct the European socialist to the Muslem and Arab countries. They could get along well both supressing freedom until they realize they’re going to have to fight it out. We can get rid of one annoyance that way. Guess who I think will win? But we must stay vigilant – they will be after us if we let them start changing our laws, and the left here will stopp whining about seperation of church and state to accomidate them
