Oppose Brennan for CIA Director
Here is how it is: Islamic supremacism, the sharia-based ideology of Islamists, is an interpretation of Muslim doctrine that is entirely mainstream among the world’s Muslims. That is why Islamists are winning elections in the Middle East even as they are found aligning with violent jihadists. Islamic supremacism is, in fact, widely promoted by the Brotherhood, and by such tentacles of its American network as CAIR and ISNA, when they are not otherwise deceptively disavowing its existence.
This Islamist ideology is incorrigibly anti-Western and anti-Semitic. It is deeply hostile to principles of equality and individual liberty (free speech, freedom of conscience, privacy, economic freedom, etc.) that undergird our Constitution, the American conception of civil rights, and the West’s conception of human rights. Understand Islamist ideology and you will readily understand the ferocity of Islamic resistance to American efforts to promote democracy in the Middle East – not merely jihadist resistance but broad Islamic resistance.
Yet, in a propaganda campaign reminiscent of those waged by the Nazis and the Soviets, Islamists and their fellow travelers (Brennan-types who might be thought of as “anti-anti-Islamists”) purport to be champions of human rights. When it suits them, they even feign reverence for individual liberties (particularly when it comes to the rights of Muslim in America … but don’t you dare ask them how non-Muslims fare in, say, Saudi Arabia).
The counter to such a propaganda campaign is a job for intelligence agencies. The point of having a sprawling intelligence community on which American taxpayers annually lavish $55 billion – far more than the vast majority of countries spend on national defense – is precisely to see through the deceptions of those who mean us harm, to perceive the threats against us for what they are. That the competent performance of this essential function may be fraught with political complications is supposed to be a challenge for our politicians, not our intelligence agents. The latter’s mission of unearthing hidden and often excruciating truths is hard enough.
Brennan’s agenda is the antithesis of the intelligence mission. His goal has been to portray our enemies as a small, unthreatening fringe of charlatan “violent extremists,” who kill wantonly and are unconnected to any “legitimate” Islam. Thus, he maintains for example that the only “legitimate” interpretation of the “tenet of Islam” known as jihad is: a “holy struggle … to purify oneself or one’s community.”
Even taken at face value, Brennan’s assertion is absurd. There is between Islam and the West no common understanding of the good, and thus no consensus about “purity.” In Islam, to “purify” something means to make it more compliant with sharia, Islam’s legal code and societal framework. Sharia is anti-freedom and anti-equality, so to purify oneself in an Islamic sense would necessarily mean something very different from what we in the West would think of as struggling to become a better person.
But there is an even more fundamental reason not to take Brennan’s remarks at face value: they run afoul of what mainstream Islam itself says about jihad. Have a look at Reliance of the Traveller, the popular sharia manual (it is available on Amazon). It is quite straightforward on the matter: “Jihad means to war against non-Muslims.” Reliance, you should know, has been expressly endorsed by al-Azhar University in Egypt (Islam’s center of learning since the tenth century) and the International Institute of Islamic Thought (the Brotherhood’s America-based Islamist think-tank). It is a lot more authoritative than John Brennan’s wishful meanderings. Maybe the president actually thinks Brennan knows more about Islam than do these scholars who have spent their lives steeped in Islamic doctrine and jurisprudence. I have my doubts … and, judging from the profound influence of these scholars, so do many millions of Muslims.

Obama says he’s not a Muslim.
Some people want to believe that.
Some try to believe that.
If Obama really is a Muslim what would he do differently than what he is doing now?
You are aware of all the wars with Muslim countries Obama has gotten us involved in? Libya? Yemen? Now Mali?
Not to mention the 100s of drone strikes that have killed 1000s of civilians.
I realize this place wants to go to war with Iran, but that’s not gonna happen. Regardless of who the president it.
Are you of the delusion that Iran has not been at war with us, and has been since the Shah was deposed and the Ayatollah Khamenei came to power?
Did you sleep through the Iran Hostage Crisis?
Were you not paying attention as Iranian operatives were killing American soldiers in Iraq?
Are you unaware of Iran’s ties to terror worldwide?
You probably are one of those people that think that Imadinnerjacket is just mouthing platitudes for the masses as he calls for the destruction of Israel, I suppose.
And finally, you have probably forgotten the images of Neda lying dying in the street, her eyesockets filling with blood from wounds inflicted by her own government as she spoke out against religious tyranny.
On that day, the Crypto-Muslim in the White House was deafening in his silence.
There is most certainly evil in the world, and what you have right there in Persia is what you call a hellhole.
In the end, only one country will be standing regardless of what we all might wish or hope might come to pass.
But by all means, keep apologizing for their actions and for the actions of our ‘president’.
JeremyR’s “Not to mention the 100s of drone strikes that have killed 1000s of civilians.” doesn’t make me think he’s a big fan of Obama’s.
My comment was directed towards his last sentence, and to the extent that he may or may not be opposed to Obama, it is very difficult indeed to surmise that our ‘president’ has acted in the best interests of this nation when at every turn he supports regime change in the Muslim world that results in a government arising that is far more radical, far more sharia-focused, far more tyrannical than what preceded it.
Except in the case of Iran, notably.
When the uprising against the Mullahs occurred, Barry O’five-iron was on the back nine and could not be bothered to find a few words of encouragement for a people desperate to be free.
It is remarkable to recall that the Iranian people were very much of the West prior to the revolution.
It is a damned shame that they suffer the oppression that they do.
But is should not surprise anyone that he acts in furtherance of Islamists to the detriment of freedom loving peoples everywhere, including here.
Additional question
Are you not knowing that, when Obama’s silence during the protests in Teheran was becoming noticed, the media chose to obsess about the death of Michael Jackson for well over a month so to conceal and obscure that silence—until the silence of death prevailed in Teheran? Yes, our media connived at the refusal to forthrightly stand with Neda’s compatriots.
More like wars for Muslims, as in for the most Islamic Muslims against more secularist leaders.
That is the point I was making except I think wars for Islam and thus against Western Civilization, would be a more accurate way of putting it.
Yes and the government’s of all those governments collapsed leaving them wide open for the so-called “radical” (I contend they are just regular old muslims. There are NO moderate muslims) muslims to take over.
Jeremy – Look at which faction Obama has sided with and the results of his intervention. In every case, Obama has sided with the enemies of America and our defensive posture and the security of Israel have suffered. Obama: “The sweetest sound I’ve ever heard is the Muslim call to prayer,” and “I am a Muslim,” tells me something: this jerk is a Muslim, he hates White America, and he is doing his best and is succeeding in harming our country financially, militarily, and ethically.
I HATE that treasonous bastard in the White House. If I live one day or ten years, I will spend every single day of it praying to whatever God there is that his demise be imminent and fitting of the crimes against humanity and the United States that he has earned for treason. A firing squad is too good for him; flaying comes to mind.
Now, let the goon squads sic their drones on me and my children to eliminate us.
I think he’s got some emotional ties to Islam, but please note the historically obvious – it’s ubiquitous for Muslims to callously or even gleefully kill other Muslims. Being emotionally sympathetic, or even fanatically DEVOTED, to Islam doesn’t translate to being sympathetic to individual Muslims. Except when it serves a propaganda need, of course.
However, I think the overwhelming evidence supports the idea that Obama is a devoted Marxist, who finds the Muslims to be useful idiots to be used against the U.S., and, along the way, finds some emotional attachment to the religion of his youth.
“A country that was serious about its national security would never put John Brennan in charge.”
True, but a country that would put Barack Insane-Hussein Obama in charge would.
Andy-
All of your references to liberty are painful to read in the context of the federal overreach to reform education to insist that America is all about majority rule. Trying to create a belief in students that they MUST reach a consensus within their group and that consensus then binds everyone. There are additional ways to destroy Western civilization from within that are far harder to see that someone screaming Jihad and wrapping up their female relatives in fabric. http://www.invisibleserfscollar.com/tearing-up-the-fabric-of-a-free-society-the-new-college-career-and-civic-life-c3-framework/
I have read The Grand Jihad as well as Andrew Bostom’s book on Sharia. Every time I track a bad idea in education I eventually arrive back at the doorsteps of the UN. Without trying. UNESCO was created to spark a cultural evolution in what the Western attitudes, beliefs, and feelings. A noetic revolution is what it is called. Julian Huxley was quite graphic on how to change society from within. The Islamic countries dominate the UN in terms of votes and UNESCO is driving education reform globally toward what turns out to be the Marxist theory of the mind.
Shouldn’t we see what Brennan did as National Security Advisor and is likely to do at CIA and what Arne Duncan and Obama are pursuing in education and through the National Science Foundation to squelch any climate skepticism to all be consistent with a coordinated assault on prevailing attitudes, values, and beliefs in the US? That aligns with what the media won’t tell people precisely because media and education are simply two branches of a broader Communication strategy when you are a Statist or work for one.
As you said so ably, we have to be able to see deception where it so clearly exists. There is a great deal of organized deception going on right now using the spending and regulatory powers of various federal agencies. If it all consistently lines up with the Heart’s Desire of UN oligarchs to maintain their power and subvert the West, maybe we should be looking there more often?
I know I refer to what is really going on in education as unilateral intellectual disarmament. When I read Bostom’s book it sent shivers up my spine on how we will soon be unable to see any threats coming from anyone who hates us. How convenient is that?
John Brennan has A LOT to answer for, especially when it comes to Benghazi. Notice you haven’t heard much about his role in that disaster. You have not heard about how he “advised” the president during that crisis, why he didn’t at least anticipate that there would be some major threats or problems in a city like Benghazi, where al Qaeda was and still is operating in full force, and why he did NOT get any information from ambassador Chris Stevens on the deteriorating security situation there. To John Brennan, it’s as if Benghazi never happened and he’s not about to volunteer any information on what exactly did happen in the White House just before, during, and immediately after that event, when the White House tried to blame everything on a stupid video.
Yet we hear nothing about this. Is this really the best we can do in nominating the director of the largest intelligence service in the world? Is an incompetent fool like Hagel the best we can hope for managing the largest military bureaucracy in the world? The Obama administration seems to be going out of its way to have really non-serious candidates in key governmental positions. This either shows an amazing amount of stupidity on the part of the White House, or a desire for the White House to literally run and control every branch of the Federal government. I believe it is the latter.
Brennan, John Kerry, Chuck Hagel…all really bad for America. I agree with Andy, Brennan should be defeated but I have no faith in the GOP. After the vote to side with the Muslim Brotherhood and against America to allow the F16s delivery to Egypt, I lost any hope of the GOP doing the right thing for our country. Andy’s piece at NRO is a must read http://www.nationalreview.com/articles/339590/senate-republicans-arm-brotherhood-andrew-c-mccarthy
Mr. McCarthy, thank you for continuing to shine the light.
Thank you POTUS, Hillary Clinton, John Kerry and the Senate. You have succeeded beyond your expectations. You chose the MB over America while the media cheers, America loses.
Have a look at the pic of Morsi and Ahmadinejad standing side by side in Egypt yesterday! First time leader of Iran has been in Eqypt since 1979.
http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2013/02/us-delivers-f-16-jets-to-egypt-sunday-ahmadinejad-makes-historic-trip-to-egypt-tuesday/
Grassroots need to prepare ads to run against everyone who voted for the MB and that’s a long list, only 19 GOP stood for America. 2014 and 2016 elections, remember the roll call vote.
In the inner circle of the Obama Regime, It’s known as “OPERATION ENDURING FARCE”.
We’d be better off with the Brennan from “Beverly Hillbillies”.
That’s what you get from Idiots! (Modern Liberals)
Oops – sorry – I meant “The Real McCoys”.
The scary part of all this is that all the non-Muslim pro-Islam people and all the practicing Muslims who have optained key positions in our most sensitive agencies such as DoD, DHS, State, CIA and the White House Staff did not infiltrate. They were and are being deliberately sought out and recruited.
Mr. McCarthy:
As a recently retired intelligence officer I can tell you that Mr. Brennan is not the source of the blindness toward Islamic extremism at CIA. He is more a product of the CIA’s MENA office than an independent thinker. The MENA community at both State and CIA have taken the Arabist baton from their British counterparts whose romanticized view of the Arab world and Islam that has prevalent since T. E. Lawrence wrote “The Seven Pillars of Wisdom.”
I am sure you are aware of Paul Pillar’s , the reigning National Intelligence Officer for the Middle East from 2000-2005, NYT article written in the Summer of 2001, praising Islamic Radicalism and proclaiming that it was favorable development for the United States. This is the environment that Brennan comes from. Keeping Brennan out of the DCIA job does nothing unless there is a concerted effort to reduce the influence of the Arabists at CIA. If you don’t counter their influence then it won’t matter who is at the top.
We need people with direct knowledge to speak up. I’m guessing you are familiar with “The Project” Congress (with few exceptions, i.e. Rep. Gohmert) stays silent and rushes to defense of MB such as McCain.
If you have information, speak up or at least provide the information to people who can and will expose inflitration in our government. The public needs to know, the media is on the wrong side.
Bravo!
We’re apparently entwined in a colossal Catch 22 in that the invaluable historical insight of retired Insider knowledge is not more publicly available since it’s becoming obvious it’s now so desperately needed to counter our growing Obama debacle.
But the present claque of Obama voters simply aren’t educatable, and that leads us to even more desperately need the advice of those “elders” who were present in those past closed-door sessions and who can’t speak publicly, but perhaps they could be permitted to speak to the Senate and House Intelligence committees in closed sessions.
O.K., maybe that’s being done now…..let’s hope so…..but it’s obvious that we need to get away from, a long way away from, this cancer of political correctness which is metastasizing inside our Intelligence and Military Security offices.
British Arabism begins not with TE Lawrence but with Sir Richard Burton who, with John Hannon Speake, discovered the source of the Nile. Burton was a great admirer of the Arab slave traders and had utter disregard for their black victims beyond an obsessive curiosity about their sexual practices. (For grotesque modernist historical revision, see Bob Rafelson’s “Mountains of the Moon” which portrays Burton as sympathetic to black Africans to the point of weeping brokenly over a murdered African “friend.”)
For reasons I won’t speculate on here,Arabism has always been linked to homosexuality.(Where Rafelson is more accurate in his film than Burton’s more scholarly biographers is in his suggestion that Burton was attracted to the openly homosexual Speake.) Burton played the hetero cocksman but he was bisexual, This linkage of Arabism and homosexuality is seen repeatedly in later prominent Arabists, both British and American all the way through our ambassador recently murdered in Benghazi.
As for the rampant Arabism among our governing elites, especially in the State Department, that is a condition of long standing. State opposed the founding of the Jewish State and has bent every effort to putting the Genie back in the bottle since.
State’s prejudice is shared by the President and is reflected in his dismally vain and mediocre appointees. John Kerry stated during his confirmation hearing that all our problems in the Middle East, South Asia and the Maghreb stemmed from tensions between Israelis and Palestinians. His first act as Secretary of State was to call Abbas and Natanyahu to announce the restart of the “peace process.”
This monocausal view is harebrained and absurd but Kerry was confirmed by 94% of the Senate. And Hagel will be confirmed as will Brennan. The rot is in the bone.
Are we talking about the same country that has John Kerry as a Secretary Of State, Janet Napolitano as Secretary of Homeland Security, and Eric Holder as Attorney General? Our country has lost all sense of direction when dealing with national security and protecting it’s citizens. Politics has been substituted for common sense. The United States Senate has ceased being a body of wise old men and women, and has become a body of old fools. And the electorate can take the blame for it.
Excellent comment, right on the mark. The administration we have today is doing exactly what we thought they would. The fools that put them in place are the real enemy because they support what is happening.
And with all those people in place they have the added boldness of making it legal to kill American Citizens:
http://openchannel.nbcnews.com/_news/2013/02/04/16843014-exclusive-justice-department-memo-reveals-legal-case-for-drone-strikes-on-americans?lite
The most disconcerting part is the vague, “associated force,” that justifies an assissination. What associated force? Tea Party? Membership in NRA? Having a registered gun?
Lolly – You are so right. The Low Foes (Low information folks), otherwise known as the 47 percent with hands extended for ‘Bama phones’ put this swine in office and will keep him there so long as the freebies flow. When they stop (i.e., when productive Americans say “Hold, enough” and initiate a tax revolt), Holder’s people will storm out against their former benefactors and hell won’t hold the ensuing conflict. This predictable event is why Obama has his “private army as well funded as the armed forces” in Big Sis’s Department of Home Security (with fully automatic assault rifles and tons of ammo)and his claim to the right to assassinate American citizens he thinks are associated with “America’s enemies”. Soap box, ballot box, jury box, and cartridge box.
A Nation that’s serious? You said it, I didn’t.
Every time I think it can’t get worse…it gets worse. Right now I’m considering the possibility that I’ve died and gone to Hell, and that this slow drip, dripping of insanity from this administration is punishment for my sins, or my not going to church in the last thirty years, or something terrible that I did and have never repented for. Seriously, do any of you think that you could write a work of fiction with this kind of plot…and have it published? No one would believe it!
Mr Judenlieber – I am re-reading Shattering the German Night by Annette E. Dumbach and Jud Newborn, which is the story of the White Rose organization. I believe you will recall this organization resisted Hitler in Nazi Germany. Unfortunately, the organization was penetrated by the Gestapo and the members were tortured, then executed – but they fought! I see in Obama many similarities with Hitler and his regime and I can’t help but picture Big Sis in the role of Herman Goering, Lyin’ Joe Biden as Rudolph Hess, that pip-squeak press rep as Goebbels (except Goebbels was a lot smarter than this puppet), and – of course – Obama in the starring role.
Obama & his regime will have undone all the blood, sweat, and tears our Founders spilled for our freedom during his two terms in office. Brennan is a symptom of Obama and the lefts failure to embrace reason, luberty, and sanity.
So, are any of you out there still moaning and whining and wringing your silly hands about Obama’s “incompetence” and “stupidity”?
Or have you finally found the courage to admit what has been obvious all along – that he is VERY good at what he does, and what he does is called treason?
In the same sense that some people don’t want to believe that Muslims really mean it when they say that they want to eliminate all infidels it seems that a lot of people didn’t think Obama really meant it when he said he wanted to “fundamentally transform” America.
Just what did they think he meant?
“Neo-cons stink of necrosis and flee from the thought of peace like a Victorian spinster from a penis.”
— Taki
Some of the comments in here are clear confirmation of the above aphorism.
Why do you and Taki identify enough to feature it, with how a Victorian spinster must feel when confronted by a penis?
He’ll be adequate so long as he doesn’t begin seeing WMD where there are none like his slavering lapdog neo-con predecessor, George Tenet.
“Neo-con” is such a handy term. One merely waves it around as a magic wand, and presto! One is immediately relieved of all responsibility for actual thinking.
How convenient!
For the Liberal, the only way not to be a bigot is to never think at all.
Sounds like Frankenchrist fills the bill.
You know (déjà vu all over again) his exact knee jerk position on everything under the sun.
Greetings:
Amen. Islam is the millstone. If your plan doesn’t include constraining, undermining, or eradicating Islam, you don’t have a plan. What you have is a hope.
As an academic (Islamic history PhD) who was cut out of several counter-terrorism lecturing and training gigs because of the aforementioned prohibitions on discussing jihad and rhe realities of Islamic history, I can attest that Mr. McCarthy’s analysis is dead-on accurate. What’s going on is akin to telling analysts in WWII that Nazi ideology is off-limits, because Germans might complain; or ones during the Cold War that Marxism-Leninism is just believed by a “few extremists” and we shouldn’t alienate the Russians by talking about it. Obama may be drone-happy, but we will never defeat Islamic ideology and propaganda with purely kinetic means.
Good post. I always appreciate reports from the trenches. About “prohibitions on discussing jihad and the realities of Islamic history,” Eric Voegelin, in Science, Politics and Gnosticism writes that “the prohibition of questions” is central to Marxism, fascism, progressivism,” and other modern-day “ersatz religions,” and that their promoters make that suppression part of their dogma. I wonder if there is any scholarship on Islam and the ancient gnostic cults.
PS, should’ve
(1) finished the sentence that started with “Unless” (please insert somewhere, “…then none of this may be of any interest.”)
(2) added that “SoteraDefense Corporation” as the new name chosen, at some point after the passport scandal had sufficiently blown over, for ‘The Analysis Corporation’ seems rather supremely odd, given that surely someone at the company would have noticed that, the name change being made presumably in order to distance itself from accusations of tampering with someone’s identity who may have been named “Sotero”, that “Sotera” may not be the best new name.
3) If the ‘innocence’ video was made as part of some ‘fast and furious’ type ploy aimed at being a First Amendment camel nose under tent flap (the President did mention along in there something about outlawing insults to mohammed), then it blew up in Brennan’s face, though not quite as badly as the passport sanitization had previously blown up in Brennan’s face.
Question for Americans: Is it good, or bad, to have him, as CIA Director, blowing everything he touches, up in his face?
Speak of the devil –reference to above mention of a possible First Amendment ploy, this just up on Instapundit:

A country that was serious about its national security would never need this agency in a free society! That would be like having the Gestapo like in Germany for protection and freedom. Wait, that is what they do!
Simply intrust the people like they do in Switzerland! Dec 30, 2009
Switzerland has the lowest crime rate in the world, because the people are armed, basic military is mandatory for men,and after wards they are required to keep their weapon at home.A crook will think twice about breaking into houses knowing this, people who think the world should get rid of guns should think again.

America is in serious trouble, has a problem far greater than Mr. Brennan can solve. We, as a nation, do not know what we are doing, in war, in the face of mortal peril. For a dozen years, we have fought an enemy which we know very little about. This violates the first rule of war: know your enemy. Rumsfeld pushed for war as an unending career, Whack a Mole, until no more enemies pop up. And give me all your money. If our enemy is over a billion religious people, we have just begun centuries of war.
Our problem is compounded because it is asymmetrical. We know world war, massive tank battles, air armadas raining H bombs, but we have very few people who can speak the languages of our diverse enemies. It is reasonable to consider that not all Islams are killers; some seek peace. Can we ally with them? But those who speak out are slaughtered by killers, and we have made fatal mistakes of taking counsel from those who want us dead. Add the absolute need for keeping us voters totally ignorant of developments such as Benghazi, and the result is the impossibility of liking, or loathing, the boss of secrets. We know very little upon which to judge.
A few general thoughts:
It would be nice if Mr. Brennan kept his zipper closed as he works.
It would be nice to hear an adult discussion why the military has their internal intelligence organization, separate and apart from the CIA.
It would be nice to learn why the CIA once had their own rules about the treatment of prisoners while the military had their totally different rules. (This, and incompetency, was the root cause of the Abu Ghraib disaster.)
Why and why did we change?
Who works at “our” overseas rendition centers? DoD? State? CIA? Contractors?
Can a CIA drone kill people which is a no-no to the Air Force? Or Homeland Security?
The CIA totally missed the collapse of the USSR. Will they do better with the Taliban? Iranian nukes? Pakistani nukes? The outcome of the multiyear Arab spring?
Have they updated their list of current secret agents since Valerie Plame was delisted? It is always good to know who works for you, particularly when she recommends her hubby for classified spook work on A bombs.
The CIA can not play a good game of Bridge. They can not decide who is We, and who is They. Who is a patriot? Who is a traitor?
This divide, not Mr. Brennan, is our problem.
It would be nice if Mr. Brennan kept his zipper closed as he works.
Answer; Not sure what you are aluding to here…are you saying Brennan is a womanizer or Gay?
It would be nice to hear an adult discussion why the military has their internal intelligence organization, separate and apart from the CIA.
Answer; DIA collects all-source defense intelligence to prevent strategic surprise and deliver a decision advantage to warfighters, defense planners, and policymakers. CIA collects information that reveals the plans, intentions and capabilities of our adversaries and provides the basis for decision and action. Produces timely analysis that provides insight, warning and opportunity to the President and decisionmakers charged with protecting and advancing America’s interests. Conducts covert action at the direction of the President to preempt threats or achieve US policy objectives. Google GRU and KGB for Soviet equivilents.
It would be nice to learn why the CIA once had their own rules about the treatment of prisoners while the military had their totally different rules. This, and incompetency, was the root cause of the Abu Ghraib disaster.)
Answer; Root cause of Abu Gharib was a breakdown in military (Army) discipline.
Why did we change?
Answer; Huh?
Who works at “our” overseas rendition centers? DoD? State? CIA? Contractors?
Answer; I don’t really care who is working at “overseas rendition centers” as long as they are kicking ass.
Can a CIA drone kill people which is a no-no to the Air Force? Or Homeland Security?
Answer; CIA and USAF kill our enemies. The actual method is irreleveant to me as long as they kill our enemies. DHS does not operate armed drones.
The CIA totally missed the collapse of the USSR. Will they do better with the Taliban? Iranian nukes? Pakistani nukes? The outcome of the multiyear Arab spring?
Answer; No.
Have they updated their list of current secret agents since Valerie Plame was delisted?
Answer; I suspect CIA knows who is on their payroll.
It is always good to know who works for you, particularly when she recommends her hubby for classified spook work on A bombs.
Answer; Concur.
Thank you for your reply.
The head of the CIA, and DoD swapped hats, Penetta and Gen. Petraeus; one a politician, the other a career general (who had the zipper problem). Petraeus ordered the CIA to follow the military code of conduct for the treatment of prisoners. There was little open discussion of what was done before, and was it better, or worse, in fulfilling the missions of each organization? Much has been made of “torture” in the popular debate but is there a legitimate reason why the CIA did not follow the military rules since WWII? This debate should probably proceed within classified briefings in Congress, but they have little credibly in candid nonpartisan leadership.
The Abu Gharib disaster was certainly caused by lousy performance but the single death was due a terrorist, caught red handed by Navy Seals, while blowing up a hospital. Depending on which report you accept, he was dropped off, by the CIA, at an Army prison with broken ribs, late at night to an grossly under staffed (screwed up )guard unit, and handcuffed to a jail cell overnight (without proper admission processing or medical care per the book.) I, a dummy, gather that Special Ops, Seals and CIA are interwoven in war theaters. As you note, if CIA and USAF kill people with drones, why do we have two totally separate groups doing the same thing e.g. developing a drone? If the missions overlap, or are blurred, Brennan may be, or may not be the best choice. Do we have clear organizational missions and interfaces, between and among large organizations?
Until we know what we are doing, it is difficult to pick the right guy. More so since we citizens can not know. Congress must, but apparently does not know or care. This, not Mr. Brannen, is our problem. The purpose of war is to end it, win. I fear that our bureaucratic intramurals have lost sight of that goal. We have been in combat for a dozen years; we owe better to those who sacrificed body parts for us.
“Can a CIA drone kill people which is a no-no to the Air Force? Or Homeland Security?”
“Answer; CIA and USAF kill our enemies. The actual method is irreleveant to me as long as they kill our enemies. DHS does not operate armed drones.”
Are members of the CIA allowed to be classified as ‘combatants’ under the Geneva and UN Conventions?
Thus, (Brennan) maintains for example that the only “legitimate” interpretation of the “tenet of Islam” known as jihad is: a “holy struggle … to purify oneself or one’s community…”Have a look at Reliance of the Traveller, the popular sharia manual (it is available on Amazon). It is quite straightforward on the matter: “Jihad means to war against non-Muslims.”
A few words from the founder of the Muslim Brotherhood Hasan al-Banna or Osama bin laden would get the point across to an individual of average intelligence.
al-Banna:
“It is the nature of Islam to dominate, not to be dominated, to impose its law
on all nations and to extend its power to the entire planet.”
Osama in a November 2011 video:
“Terrorism is an obligation in Allah’s religion.”
Clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right…
Sadly, I have to agree! There was a time however, that he was an extraordinaryly competent man within his charge of duties. I fear something has since happened to his mental capacities and no longer competent for any critical roles in government.

i should read the link, but just for quickies, like to say that 9 incidents one year and 11 the next, is a 23% rise –but it’s not meaningful, as a standard deviation has no predictive correalation. Need more consecutive years to establish any pattern.
All the time and energy that conservative media and the Republican party have exerted in opposing Chuck Hagel for Secretary of Defense has been misspent. To be sure, Hagel is a blowhard and a fool who has no business being Sec. of Def. But Brennan is, by far, the more pernicious and dangerous of the two nominees.
Why conservative media and the Republicans aren’t fighting his nomination with the fury and vigor that they’ve brought against Hagel is puzzling.
Shamrock, your word ‘puzzling’ seems to invite conjecture, so here’s some: Obama controls the media, and Obama’s entire national security apparatus almost if not completely –along with Brennan –belong to and were educated by the same mission-oriented society –which i hasten to add, is as problematic for the Roman Catholic laity as is the KKK for the southern Protestants and the Rothschild banks for the American Jewish. I suppose this comment enters the ‘masonic conspiracy’ realm, so while i’m in there a bit already, might as well add, there’s not a single Protestant on the Supreme Court.
Hell, it’s simple –just add a zero to the Thirty Years War between the reformation and the reaction, and here we are!
No real mystery here, Brennan is a Muslim. He converted years ago while working in Saudi Arabia. We have been infiltrated from within. There are several members of the administration affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood. And our state-controlled media remains silent.
Is it true that Brennan converted? John Brennan converted to muslim

we need to totally disband CIA and start clean.
John Guandolo, a former FBI agent, makes the claim starting at 11:50 that Brennan converted to Islam while in Saudi. He also points out several additional reasons Brennan is wrong for the job.

Brennan and Jack Devine were until the Obama tap both directors of Global Strategies Inc, the Damian Perl City of London outfit that bought Brennan’s The Analysis Corporation –the company with the contract to organize the State Dept’s passport files, one of whose employees was fingered for tampering with Obama’s file in early 2008 (and subsequently ‘offed’ before he could be debriefed by FBI, whose trap had caught him).
Jack Devine, while with CIA had run the Rome office –the office that supervised –or that was thought to be supervising –Aldrich Ames, the sensational spy case of the 90s, the man who ”sold the CIA to the KGB for 5 million dollars”.
That Rome office is, according to the ”masonic conspiracy” where the Knights of Malta (“SMOM”), the KGB, the Vatican Assassins (the direct action arm of the Jesuits) and a veneer of high-profile posing-Zionist but anti-Israel Jews whose function is to gen up anti-Semitic misdirection, all converge (Malta, where read yesterday, Tom Cruise, king of Scientology, is buying a castle redoubt). There’s so many SMOMs in this admin’s national security nexus (do a search), that even the most anti-tin-hatter would have to note the sychronicity of the current team being vetted (Panetta, Gen Dempsey, Kerry, Brennan, dunno about Hagel or Lew, all SMOMs, along with NSA Donilon, and betcha a hunnert bucks the new Chief of Staff to Obama) –the synchronicity of them tyaking control of of the USA at the same time the Pope decides to retire, the first such since the 1400s. Lessee, what else is ticking away like that clock in in the belly of that crocodile chasing Pater Pan, there’s the Obama determination to panic-run the Dollar (speech tomorrow night will help that job enormously), there’s Iran leaking that the bomb is a done deal, there’s Putin revealing he’s bought enough gold to triple outweigh the Statue of Liberty –as the news blurbs oddly compared today, in covering Putin’s announcement.
I’m leaving out dozens of other people and events and things freely available on the conspiracy sites (yes, i AM ashamed of myself for indulging –but –but –something IS going on, and where else to look?) that allude to all this –the target is said to be the redoubt of the schismatics, the Protestant Reformation churches, dead in all but name only everywhere but the USA (third-world Christianity strong in the evangelist movement, not the Reformation hierarchies), where it is AKA the red-state middle-class, AKA the center of the great Obama Impoverishment (the farmers and ranchers slapped across the face and robbed by MFGlobal, whose CEO is exonerated and running free as a bird as we speak), AKA the big losers in the left’s serial bubbles and crises, and AKA the 2nd Amendment supporters, and AKA the white southern gun culture, et cetera –the men and women who stand behind their sheriffs from the western edge of Fast & Furious to the eastern edge of the Gulf oil spill catastrophe, and its follow-on carrot the 20 billion (from BP’s widows and orphans shareholders-via-Citibank ”oversight”) dollar fund to pay claims while slipping the Mob and the unions into the previously organized-crime-free gulf coast tourist and oil industries.
Well, we’ll know if the new Pope comes clanking out wearing a sword and suit of armor and the Swiss Guard has dropped the halberds and picked up submachine guns –!
