Islamophobic Hysteria Becomes Conventional Wisdom
What has been amazing to watch in the last few days, though, is how what was Islamophobic hysteria about five minutes ago is suddenly such obvious fact that even the New York Times can acknowledge it.
Indeed, the Brotherhood turns out to be “the Egyptian Kansas,” as the Gray Lady put it a week ago while reporting on the Islamist generals Morsi has found to replace the Mubarak generals:
Samer Shehata, a professor of Arab politics at Georgetown University, said American policy makers would be naïve to think that the positions held by Mr. Morsi and the Brotherhood — including criticisms of the United States and strong support for the Palestinians — represented fringe thinking. On those issues, “the Brotherhood is the Egyptian Kansas,” said Professor Shehata. Their positions on foreign policy “reflect rather than oppose what the Egyptian center is thinking,” he said.
Wow, who knew?
Meanwhile, we learn day-by-day of more collaboration between Islamists and Leftists. The Obama administration dramatically changes American policy by engaging in formal contacts with the Muslim Brotherhood, and helps Morsi push the pro-American generals out by pressuring them to surrender power to Morsi. An administration official lets slip that there have been “hundreds” of meetings between the administration and the Council on American Islamic Relations — CAIR being a public relations and lawfare outfit the Brotherhood created to champion Hamas and other agenda items. The administration issues a visa for a member of a formally designated terrorist organization — one that is rabidly anti-American — so he can come to the White House, along with Brotherhood operatives, for consultations on the new Egypt. When Congress complains about it, Obama’s Homeland Security secretary says lawmakers ought to get used to it because more such consultations are in the offing. The White House continues its close relations with the Islamic Society of North America, the most important Brotherhood affiliate in America and one which — like CAIR — was cited by the Justice Department as an unindicted co-conspirator the 2007-08 Holy Land Foundation case for its Hamas financing activities.

The collusion between Islamists and Leftists is not just arguable anymore, it’s conventional wisdom. Literally. Evidently, tens of thousands of Islamists will be flocking to the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte for “Jumah at the DNC,” an extravaganza starring “moderates” who champion Hamas and argue for replacing the United States Constitution with sharia.
Maybe the Left has decided Islamists are the “American Kansas.” This much we know, though: The Grand Jihad is alive and well.
While I dislike the Islamist ideology of course I can’t help but feel a little admiration for the MB. The same country that was attacked just over ten years ago by their excitable ally al-Quaeda is now working for them, serving their interests and punishing their enemies. That’s quite an achievement.
If you had told you in late September, 2001 that in just over 10 years the US government would be allied with the Mohammed Atta’s and Osama bin Laden’s ideological allies they’d think you were nuts, yet that is precisely the situation that we have today. What’s more, this change has gone mostly unnoticed (most of the foreign policy types on both the left and right seem to be on board with the ‘Arab Spring’ which has advanced the cause of Islamism so quickly). How many everyday people are aware that the US Government is supporting rather than attacking radical Islam in general (despite the drone attacks etc. on specific individuals who have been involved in terrorism)?
Here’s something that nobody seems to want to say.
The Left sees Radical Islam as a weapon they can use to punish and kill (yes, kill) their opponents without having to get their own hands dirty.

Rush Limbaugh says he and McCarthy are friends. I don’t believe Limbaugh. He hardly ever if ever talks about this critical issue.

Limbaugh is every bit aware of the Islamist threat as A. McCarthy, but his main emphasis is domestic US politics and replacing the current cabal in DC.

I like Limbaugh just fine as a commentator, but if you think he is a hero then you have been suckered in. He is brilliant verbally and has a lot of insight, but that is not sacrifice for a cause. Rush has never done anything for anybody but Rush.

He’s a brilliant popularizer. I wish the actual candidates were even half as persuasive as he.
I’ll bet he’s gotten a lot more people to the polls than thousands of Republican volunteers who sacrificed their time and effort. He’s being paid handsomely for it, so he’s not sacrificing … but does that make his contributions any less valuable?
He read the health care bill, or at least got his employees to do it. He knew what was in it long before anyone else, and shared it with his listeners. Nobody else had the guts and single-minded determination needed to do it. Was that heroism? No, he risked nobody’s life, and again, he was just doing his job (and hiring others to do their jobs). Trouble is, precious few others did their jobs, and he did. After I learned he (or his minions) did it, and everyone else in journalism didn’t, well, I wouldn’t say he’s my hero but I’m definitely a fan.

One thing I’ve done for a good while now is that I absolutely refer to all Leftist activity in Arabic/Islamic terms (Ummah, Jihad, Kafir, Taqiyya, Muruna, Fatwa) whenever possible, to try to get people to understand that they’re parallel roads both leading to totalitarianism.

Interesting that Kansas (“Egyptian Kansas”) was chosen, as Missouri is the geographical center of the contiguous USA. But historically, Kansas was the hotbed of Unionist federalism prior to the US Civil War. During the Civil War, Missouri’s elected legislature was declared void by the Lincoln Administration and the State was declared a military “protectorate”, with normal US citizen rights suspended. Federal governing personnel were authorized to control commerce including forcing Missourians to give up property and deciding what businesses were authorized to operate and those that were closed (Unionists were allowed to take over or close Sessionist sympathizers’ commercial activities). 1st, 2nd, 5th and 9th amendment rights were restricted until Missouri was allowed to act as a State after the election of an approved legislature at the end of the Civil War.
Not writing as some “South will rise again” nutbar (clearly there were positive outcomes from the victory of Unionist politics). But the selection of Kansas is intriguing, given the similarities between Sharia/Progressive proponents’ desire for centralized control/restricted individual rights/collectivism and pre-Civil War Unionist political theory.

The south was all over federalism when it advanced the cause of slavery (they were all for states rights until it looked like California would come into the Union a free state, then all of a sudden, they demanded the federal government order states be either free or slave to preserve and equal number of each; this is just one example among many).
And, of course Missouri had its legislature suspended, they were sending aid to the enemy (they were a union state sending troops and materiel to the rebel south; and, no, states do NOT have a constitutional right to secede, and, no the slave states grievances against the union did not rise to the level of a new declaration of independence, so don’t even try going there).

The MB made clear at the beginning that their goal was a “Caliphate” all the way to Morocco. Latinos are the fastest growing minority in this country. This will continue for some time to come. Most of these folks self-identify as either Evangelical Christian or Catholic. Actually, it goes without saying. The islamic imperative does not end until the entire world submits to islam and islamic law. (See Q 8:39). In fact, the rule by kuffr (us/non-muslims/non-islamic law) is considered an abomination that must be brought to an end. Only shariah is considered to be legitamate and the Quran ORDERS muslims to wage war against rule by kuffr until islam and islamic law is victorious over all the earth.

Radical leftists regard islamists (etc) as a “resistance movement.” The leftist, atheist, idiots do not even realise that the islamists hate them more than anybody else. Himmler, during WWII, created an SS division composed entirely of bosnian muslims, as you know. This was a natural alliance. The alliance with the radical leftists does not make sense at all given that, in the eyes of the islamists, lefties are the true atheistic infidels. Go figure. The elite of all the western nations, whether on the right or the left, bow down to money. So, they will do nothing to be energy independent. Their perks and oil shares are paying off big time. Republicans and Democrats alike bow to Saudi oil and are fine with keeping things the way they are. There is no real loyalty to country. The western world is being duped by their leaders, who care nothing for the people they “govern” while enriching themselves!
In other words, the remainder of the Muslim world is destined to go through the same metamorphosis in which Iran is now in the middle. I supposed twenty-seven years ago that the end of the metamorphosis would be a society grown into the realities of the secular Western culture and able to adapt to the needs of the human spirit without further tribal, ethnic, or racial bloodletting. But the end of the act has not yet appeared—not in Iran; not in Iraq.
Are we still in the wash where it is still possible the West must either destroy Islam or be destroyed? I say—prepare for the worst. Whether my fellow citizens have turned far enough to the left to have lost all stomach for the fight is in question. And, if the cultural war grows hotter, we must not succumb to the idea that we are obligated to rebuild our enemies’ cities, economies, and cultural pride, but we must raze their towns, sow salt in their fields, and let them rot.
